      GREAT NIGHT OUT!

the manor club has a strict rules on what you wear. Sorry but if you are chavvy you will NOT get in. Also do not try if you are under 18 and do not have ID as you will not get in unless the bouncers know you and know you are 18 and go most weeks. I go with my boyfriend he is 19 and i am 18 and the bouncers now luckily know us so we do not have to produce ID every week!
the music and the atmosphere in the club is great.
everyone is really friendly and complimentary and its nice to be able to go into the toilets and have a girly chat with a random person. You can be queuing for a while depending on the time you get there. I usually get there for about 9 as i have to leave at about 12 as i have work most saturday mornings and its not great working with a hangover or half asleep!
the guys there are lovely and if you cant get a lift home the bouncers usually take you home or wait until they know you have a safe lift home.
overall i think its a great place and i love spending my friday nights there. Dont think my boss is too happy about my friday nights being taken over by manor. Hey ive gotta have a life :P!

This is a guide for those visiting the Medway area and seeking a night of alternative music. For those of you who dont know, Medway is part of North Kent, just before you get to the Isles of Sheppy as you travel from London. Its not the greatest tourist attraction in Britain, but if you are in the area and like alternative music then i recommend SUBS SONIC on a Friday night in Chatham. Medway itself is made up of four major towns; Chatham, Gillingham, Rochester and Strood and smaller sprawling villages such as Rainham, Parkwood and Hempstead. They are the complete definitive of sprawling urban areas - individual in themselves, but when traveling between them you barely notice the finish of one and the start of another. Hempstead has a small out-of-town shopping centre with the likes of Sainsburys, WHSmiths, Boots, Marks and Spencer, Wollis, New Look, Virgin, Dixons, TopShop and a number of other smaller outlets. Whilst Chatham has a slightly larger shopping centre and a high street. But as I have already said, the reason you may visit Medway isn't for the shops but for the night life. It has to be said that all the towns are making an effort to boost their 'twilight hour' business and perhaps they haven't succeeded as well as they have tried, but Chatham' Friday night SUBSONICS at the Manour Club, Chatham, is the talk of North Kent. As with most places near London, the main clubs play dance and chart music - there are many in Medway, but what make the Manour Club different is their Friday night alternative night. THE COSTS It costs £4 to get into if you have membership or if you are a student and if not £5. The cloak room cost £1 per item. The doors open from 9.30pm until 2am. HAPPY HOUR last from this time until 10.30. During happy hour the following drinks are avaliable: All shots and a mixer: £1 Red Square/Breezers: £1.50 Bottled beer: £1.50 Water: £1.50 Soft drink
s: £1 After happy most drinks rise to £2, but REDBULL & VODKA = £2 all night. THE MUSIC There are two rooms in SUBSONICS; the 'indie room' and the 'heavy room'. Both rooms contain a bar and toilets and play a variety of classic and current music in each genre. Blur, Feeder, Ash, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, Greenday, Offspring, Wheatus, Nirvana, Rage against the machine, Queens of the stone age, Sound garden, Guns and Roses, Eninem, and you know us but the trail of the dead, weezer, the kinks, pantera, pulp, dandy warholes, gorillaz... they play such a variety and if you request anything they generally have it and if not they promise to find it and play it the following week. DISADVANTAGES 1. Its very popular, so expect to queue for some time before entering 2. Air conditioning is poor, so dont wear anything too thick as it can get very hot; especially in summer. 3. I think that £1.50 for a small bottle of water is far too expensive. My advice is use the taps in the toilet. 4. At the end of the night there is a mad rush for taxis. I advise either leave a few minutes before the 'final song', or organise an alternative lift/way home. 5. Again with the taxis, expect a fairly high charge as they charge double after 12 'o clock. NEAREST PUBLIC TRANSPORT I would advise you to go by train (Chatham station) lies 2.5 minutes away from the Manour Club and 4 minutes from the high street which contains a varitey of shops and PUBS( 6 pubs within 5 mins from station). A number of bus services also stop near the station. The nearest taxi rank again, lies just outside the station.
