      Advantages

      Disadvantages

There are better placed in Edinburgh to go to.

Dreadful staff who are both ageist and rude. I was accused of being drunk which I certainly was not. I had only had three pints. This was confirmed by the people I was with. I can only conclude that because I was older than the others they preferred not to have me there. I asked to see the manager but this was refused. Much younger people who had obviously had a lot to drink were being allowed to go straight in .

      Don't bother!

'Bad' sums this place up very well and NOT 'Bad' as in 'Good' either!
Bad Venue- poorly laid out and stuck in an 80's time warp. Toilets provide the atmosphere and bounced fake bank notes provide the decor, just as a reminder that the people who go there are likely to be the kind who have fake money! (Surprising that they should have had so much passed to them, with so much neon they should be able to spot a fake a mile off!)
Bad Staff- All the grace and manners of prison warders in a third world country. If you get past the bouncers don't expect things to get better once you are in- they really are ALL that surly!
      Bad Music- Early Kylie-tastic!
Bad Attitude- Once you get past the bouncers, get ripped off by the coat check, queue for ages at the bar, get over charged and short changed while buying the watered down drinks, wade ankle deep in goodness knows what to go to the toilet, get bounced around by the never ending tide of passing 'revellers' and shout yourself hoarse over the top of I Should Be So Lucky you will inevitably find yourself being thrown out for having 'one too many' and daring to actually enjoy yourself! And the manager's response will be- tough! They've had your money now p* off!
Bad Idea- No matter how drunk you get it is NEVER worth going here! Don't do it

        bad place

As a gay turist in edingburg for the first I visited CC Blooms and was suprised that a so lovley town whith such a lot a nice gaybars a place like cc blooms can exist.
the place was run down, the staf was rude and unfriendly.
and the door man was almoust agressive!!!
It felt like nobody from had a profesional attetude about the work they in the place!
Not even the dj could impress me, bad 80ies hits badley mixed together.
And beware of the toilets.... not a fresh and clean place, smels like urine!!!
The place was moustly visited by verry drunk lesbians, that was screeming to eachother and had a hard time walking straight, so hold on to your drink... or you will have all over your shirt!!!
NOT a place I will recommended you to go to if you visit edingburg.
I wouldn't enter this establishment again.

        Disadvantages

Well for Edinburgh to be the capital of Scotland it is quite sad to say that CC Bloom's is the best gay night life this beatiful city has to offer (Except for the fabulous JOY @ Wilkie House). When I was younger I frequented CC's all the time because the staff were friendly and the bouncers were genuinely nice, Guy being one of them!! There is two good DJ's Annie and Mark (Blondie) but I beleive that they are not allowed to get the crowd going with club tunes even though it drives them wild? So we listen to cheesey music all night every night!! As much as I love Kylie and Steps, Britney and Scooch when I am out clubbing I like to club, the cheesey tunes are good for Sunday's and weekdays Friday and Saturday are for serious clubbing!! If they changed the attitude of their staff then they would probably get on a lot better, we are all gay and we all have attitude but when it comes to customers remember who provides your wages!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

CC Blooms is not the kind of place anyone should be recommended to go. It has an extrememly unfreindly door staff and stuck up queenie bar staff. Everyone I know has been barred at some time or another for offences ranging from being loud (isn't that what clubbing is all about?) to asking for a drink a minute after the bar shut. And god - forbid you should ever speak back to the bouncers (Bouncers being the operative word, they are all fat!) The music is gay formulaeic crap, (Kylie etc) WHy, just because we are gay, do we have to listen to this mund numbing rubbish. I'm not even suggesting that all week should have good dance music on, but I don;t think one night of progressive or even simple nice house is too much to ask. I wouldn't enter this establishment if my life depended on it.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

CC's is a well known gay club/pub in Edinburgh. It's been around for a while - and was recently renovated - not that you'd be able to tell - it's just a little darker. It's pub upstairs and club downstairs, with occasional Cabaret upstairs. Lots of people know about it as it isis next door to the Playhouse Theatre - and lots of unsuspecting heterosexuals go there for pre-theatre drinks - probably wandering "why are there so many men sitting together". One of the best things about it - is it's free entry. If you're in Edinburgh - and you're gay - you'll have probably been. If you're coming up to the Festival it's a definite one to go to. People often go there after one of the parade of gay pubs next door and in the Pink Triangle - aptly named. The music changes according to the night (and I'm always too drunk to remember what night is what). It's quite cruisey (isn't any gay club) - but quite fun. Bar staff are friendly - and often quite cute! It is 99% gay (with friends of gay people - making up the other 1%) apart from pre-theatre drinks. Straight people are allowed in - but probably not a group of 15 rugger buggers out for trouble - more's the pity! Enjoy! (& I don't work there!)
