      Keep your money!

When my son was younger and was still in a cot he was terrible for biting the top rails. At first I didn't worry too much because he had no teeth but as soon as they started to grow I began to worry that he might damage them on the hard wood.

I found the Kidkusion teething rail and thought it would be the perfect solution.

It is a long stip of rubber material which measures 127 x 7 x 0.3cm. The strip is designed to sit on top of the cot rail so the baby doesn't leave teeth marks in the wood and also they are only biting down on something soft and chewable instead of a hard material.

The strip is self adhesive and is easy to apply. I just peeled off the backing and attached it onto the rail. It was a bit too long but it was easy to cut to the right length with scissors. It is transparent so it doesn't look too bad on the cot.

The rubberised material is non toxic and phthalate free so no harm can come to the baby by chewing on it. It is also easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.

The only problem that I had with the teething rail was that after about 6 days the strip started to come away at the ends and soon after most of the strip was easy to pull off- even my son managed it! We ended up taking the strip off and throwing it away.

I wouldn't recommend the teething rail, it is a good idea but it doesn't stay in place and I wouldn't like to think of a child pulling it off and chewing on it even if it is non toxic!

It cost about £14.00 for the teething rail which is a lot of money to just chuck in the bin!
