Interesting toy, lots of activities in one

This Leapfrog bus is shaped like a bus, but is flat, only a few cm thick, and has no raised buttons, using touch to activate it. The 'button' to switch it on is in the top right corner, which we found was quite hard for my 18 month old daughter to activate, but the rest of the 'buttons' she had no problem with. Possibly because the others are slightly bigger, so you need to be less precise. There are different modes to it, so you can play letter games, or use the piano at the bottom, or use the animals in the bus windows to play music, using their different instruments.

My daughter loves identifying letters from the alphabet and each one will play sounds based on their associated pictures, so for example, if she finds the letter R, it will say "Robot" and make a robot sound. There are several songs it will play, including the alphabet song of course, Wheels on the Bus. There are also two different sounding drum cymbals on the bottom, so lots to do on this one toy, can keep little children entertained for a good while. Good for 18 months to say 3 or 4 years maximum.

Got this for £10 and a really good deal for that price, I wouldn't pay more than £15 though. My daughter has found this more interesting than anything else for learning the alphabet, because of the sounds it makes for each letter.

Nothing bad to say about this actually, so five stars from me.

      A god value toy!

My daughter received this for Christmas from my friend. I was with my friend when she purchased this and it was reduced from £19.99 in Smyths to just £12.99.

The bus is part of Leapfrog's magic touch range, this means that the slightest touch or slide of your finger will activate the bus. It comes with batteries which meant we were able to try it in the store before we bought it. The bus is for ages 2 and over. It teaches letter names, sounds, vocabulary, animals, instruments and music.

The item is in the shape of a bus, when we open it Christmas day I was suprised at how thin it actually was. The bus is also contoured at the back so it is easily held by your child. The on/off button is on the front of the bus and when this is switched on it makes a horn beeping noise. There is a volume control on the back of the bus which allows you to select a hi or low volume.

The bus has three modes of learning. The first is a star which when pressed puts the bus into alphabet mode. In this mode the bus will say the letter the sound it makes and the object/animal that starts with this letter. The second mode is play mode during which the bus will ask you to find certain letters or animals/objects. In the final mode which is musical mode the animals at the top of the bus and the wheels and the keyboard make different sounds as well as playing music which your child can play along to.

The bus has an English voice.

My daughter loves playing with this, you only have to give it the slightest touch to operate it, and with the keyboard you can slide your fingers up and down to play. The bus is also lightweight so it ideal for small toddlers. My daughter recognises a lot of the animals/objects on the bus and can play with this independently as well as learning. My only complaint with the bus is to me some of the letter could have had different corresponding items, for example G is for Gecko, now my daughter is only 2 so she recognises this as a lizard. You also get X for x-ray fish and V for vacuum again I would have prefer more identifiable items. This aside the bus is good fun, in music mode your child can bash along with the tune.

Overall this is a good toy and I would give it 4 out of 5.
