I use this software for making dvd videos which is really easy to use, there are several ways of doing it. I find Nero Vision best as it is really user friendly and simple to use which is ideal.
The price of this is also very good and even better when you get the oem version which can be bought if you buy computer hardware.
It would be nice if there was a way to hardcode subtitles in to the films as it can be a pain doing it on the five other bits of software i have.
Overall i would definatley recommend Nero 8 for anyone who has a collection of media and would like to make movies picture dvds. There is also a nero version of media centre which is really quite good, not sure if i would say it is better than the windows version but it is good especially if you have a tv card or 2 as you can record your tv shows on to your hard disk and watch whenever you like, plus by doing this you can always add more or bigger hard disks to ensure you wont have to delete it, which for me the hoarder is great!!
Nero has been, according to most people, the best CD and DVD burning software on the market for probably, the last half decade. It has not been all flowers for the guys at their labs, since, with the maturing of rival burning applications, Nero started to loose its competitive edge. Nonetheless, the guys at Ahead deserve Kudos for not standing still and have continued to add features to Nero, be it more templates in its cover designer, photo and video editing software (Nero photosnap, nero vision and nero recode for instance), video visualzation applications such as nero showtimes, or even Nero mediahome.
Adding to the above and to the recognized quality and reliability of their software, is Nero's impecable technical support, which not only answers questions very quickly, but also is always on the lookout for suggestions from customers to make their software better. Overall, the company that makes nero works like a well oiled machine that keeps producing better and better versions of this outstanding product. It's definatly worth buying
The interface on Nero 8 is definitely the best thing of the bundle as it is now Vista compatible and to tell the truth it works great. As for functionality, it is enhanced and the new features, tools and options are a plus.
It is 100% the best piece of software out there for burning and copying CD's as well as DVD's. Whats better is that this can be yours for less than £30. Why spend £50 plus on some other big named brand of buring software when you can have this for half the price.
It is easy to use, and can even be used by the people that aren't so great with computers. If you purchase one of these and your not sure how to work it, a great little guide comes with it telling you all the key areas to a successful burning or copying of a CD/DVD.
Nero 8 is packed with enough tools to satisfy the most demanding users seeking to transfer data to optical media.
Arriving with the promise to " Create and manage your digital life" Nero has increased its demands on system requirements to handle the various applications in this suite. You will require at least windows 2000 (SP4 or later), 1Ghz pentium lll processor, 256Mb of ram (512Mb for Vista), 1.5Gb of available disk space and DirectX 9.0C or later.
Installation requires the entry of a 28 character serial number , and following installation you will find three new icons on your desktop, namely Nero Home, Nero StartSmart and SecurDisc Viewer.Nero StartSmart is the new command centre which allows access to any of the various and powerful components that make up this suite.
Nero 8 is certainly feature-rich, with a good range of applications and tools for working with your digital media.
On opening the suite, the interface is beautifully designed and customisable, and moving from one application to the other is a breeze.
Jam-packed with applications, Nero 8 is everything you could need right there in one suite, from simply burning songs onto cd right through to more advanced stuff like editing your music or converting dvd or cd into different formats.
A beautifully designed piece of software that is a must have for any serious digital media people out there!!
Nero 8 is a set of CD\DVD utiltiies that help you "Create, Rip, Burn, Copy, Share, Backup, Play". The only problem is, can't do all of them.
At £25 it isn't overly pricey but with free software available that does what it does why would you pay for this?
In part it's piece of mind, you get everything you need to ever burn to media and also to share your media, whether that be on the PC on your TV via the MediaHome software. Some worthwhile programs include the Video converter and the DVD Menu mkaing tool.
Unfortunately, despite the manufacturer creating a frontend application where you choose the most suitable action you want to perform - like "Burn a Music CD", the software can become overly complicated and difficult to understand.
Thankfully one tool Nero Express can take care of a lot of your tasks in a step-by-step process.
What's disappointing about the software is that it has become a behemoth of probably old code tagged on top of another, meaning the software can be slow and a burden on the PC.
In particular, the Nero Agent software runs on startup and sticks to Windows Explorer for no apparent reason - Well ok, the reason is so Nero's own media centre software knows what's on your PC. Unfortunately the media centre is slow and not well thought out.
Additionally, setup can take a long time to run (Even on a high end PC) whilst it installs lots of random rubbish and a little bit of
I would recommend the software to anybody who does not have the time or the inclination to look for the best program for a set task.
Nero 8 is a very simple and easy way to burn CDs, DVDs, data discs and much more.
With Nero you can really do anything to do with discs - both quickly and easily.
One of the best features of Nero for me is the fact that it can burn ISO images (these are exact images of discs) so it is really easy to take a photo cd or similar, make it into an ISO and then quickly burn it as one file with Nero.
Nero also allows you to take a standard movie or video file such as an AVI and then burn it to a DVD that can be played in DVD players. This is a rare feature for burning software - but it does take a while for Nero to convert/encode the video.
So overall Nero has a very promising set of features and because it is so easy to use it is perfect for both the old and new to CD/DVD burning.
Nero 8 is so far one of the best version released by Nero.It contains multiple features for burning CDs and DVDs. It has mulple functionalies of creating audio and video cd's.Look and feel of the this version is much better than previous versions. It has option of switching back to previous version user interface which will help in the initial stages if the user is not getting accustommed to the new user interface.Main is also self explanatory when the software starts and the process progres display was awesome with the new version. It will also come with an in bullt nero cover designer which helps to create covers for the cds and dvds.Options along the top now include Rip and Burn, Create and Edit, Home Entertainment and Back Up. The left-hand navigation lists Data Burning, Audio Burning, Audio Ripping, and Copy Disc functions. The organization is helpful, as each of these menu items takes you to collections of applications whose names you may not understand.
Nero 8 is probably the best CD and DVD burning program on the market. There must be said that Nero is having a strong competitor with roxio creator. If you are familiar in the world of burning cd's and DVD's, I suggest you to purchase Nero. In the other hand if it is your first time, I suggest you to try roxio.
Why to choose Nero?
- It is a company who has been developing software for a long time now. They are very good in what they do.
- They have rebuilt their Smartstart program, which is now very easy to use.
- They also expanded their burning program to a multi-media package: you do not only have a burning program, also a CD-player, DVD-player, Picture-editor, Some people like it, others don't. I think it isn't worth the money, simply because you have other freeware tools who are equally good or even better.
- They extended support for HD-formats: Blu-ray Disc en HD DVD, but also BD-AV, BD-J, BD-ROM and AVCHD.
- Fast Burning speed.
- Compatible with Windows Vista.
I use Nero myself because I think it is the best one on the market today. That doesn't mean that I am completely satisfied with it. I always ask myself why I need all those media-programs from Nero, even if I already have those tools in Vista or with freeware programs. This is why I am beginning to dislike Nero. I think they are more focused on the media-tools, than the burning tools. Either way, they are still the best on the market, but I don't know for how long this is going to last.
There is a huge battle between Nero and Roxio. If you want a total media package and you are familiar with it, you better choose for Nero. It has everything you need. Instead if you don't have a lot of experience you would better try Roxio because they are easier to use.
So far it is the best cd/dvd burning software I ever used.It has everything needed.Apart from a god burning software it has plenty of features added into this software, like photo editing, video editing, sound editing,tv recording, viewing tv,file shredding, backup tool, speed test and many more useful softwares are included in this brilliant software.I am using it for 1 year, and I am too much satisfied with this player.I like the Nero start mart feature,it helps me to easily get what I want, and the Nero Express helps me to write CD's faster than ever. Also by the help of Nero 8,we can make a image of a disc, and we can create a virtual drive from that image. For me it is a pretty cool, and useful feature. And also the graphical interface of this software is really good, specially when the Nero starts, the white animated circle loading icon is looking awesome.Tryuly it is the best CD/DVD burning software I ever used, and I will use it in the future too.
Nero 8, is an awesome burning software, easy to use, excellent features. The new added tools make it the best ever. It make it fun and easy to create high quality multimedia projects with professional results. Despite the cosmetic alterations, Vista support, and enhancements, particularly to Nero Vision, the dramatic changes are slim. However, Nero's significantly faster application launch time and improved usability make the audio, video, photo, data, and home entertainment workhorse that lets you edit MP3s, capture and edit video, record and playback TV, create slide shows, back up data, convert audio files, check your hardware specs, and design disc covers with ease well worth a try.
The Nero 8 is a Perfect and All-in-One tool for CD/DVD Burning with a Great Variety of Features. The interface is new and user-friendly too. This tool is better than ever, and much more easier than before. The Pack of Nero 8 features many more tools like Nero Showtime, Rescue Agent and much more. The Nero Rescue Agent is a very useful tool for protecting important data. Data from a Partially Readable CD can be extracted and stored n the Hard Disk for later use. This version of Nero is useful for everyone, no matter whether its a Small Home Based Office or a Big Enterprise, it does all the required burning jobs in a matter of time. I would really suggest all the buyers to buy a copy of this software and use it for handling all kinds of burning problems quickly and easily without much effort and complexity. Should Buy It.
the new Nero 8 comes with many new useful features;this addition of features were included by sacrificing overall performance of the suit. Nero's start smart is simpler and has got an easy to use interface for beginners. another new feature is vista gadget included with Nero "disc copy" and "rich preview". disc copy can be seen on the vista side-bar. it allows copying of cds's and dvd's at tje press of button. whereas the "rich preview" feature allows preview of audio and image files. a notable drawback was that the difficulties in linking with WMA files. Nero vision 5 is added to the suit and the output quality is very high. but for professionals tools may be deficient. another problem is that Nero 8 is unstable when running in windows vista. Nero rescue agent included in the suit comes handy when there is a need to recover immensely important data from a scratched cd. it seems nero 8 is intended to satisfy beginners. most of the features included are designed for beginners. proffesionals cannot find this edition of nero much appealing.
