      Disadvantages

      Great Budget Buy

I am not really brand loyal when it comes to buying food for my cat, luckily he isn't overly fussy so I will often just pick up whatever is on offer or a supermarket own brand. However, I will always purchase sachets instead of tins as I just find them more convenient and less messy. During a recent shop in Tesco I picked up this Claude chunks in gravy 12 sachet pack priced at just £2.59.

Claudes Chunks in gravy is presented in a cardboard box which shows the brand and product name along with a picture of a cute grey cat and a bowl containing the said cat food. There are 12 x 100g sachets in this pack, 6 of which are lamb and 6 are beef.

General information is given on the bottom of the box including ingredients, feeding guidelines and advice.

All the sachets are stacked neatly inside of the box and I find them really easy to tear open, thankfully there is minimal splashing on doing so. One little annoyance with the sachets is that they all look pretty much identical, so it can be difficult to ensure that my cat is getting a different flavour each time.

I give my cat 3-4 sachets everyday, as I would with any similar product.

If I am completely honest I think all cat food is pretty disgusting , but my cat really seems to enjoy this Claude food and I guess thats all that matters. There are plenty of meat chunks for my cat to enjoy, he especially likes licking the gravy. His bowl is always left spotless so I think it would be full marks from him. It doesn't smell any worse or any better than any other cat food I have fed my feline friend.

I give Claude Chunks in grave 4 Dooyoo stars out of five, knocking one star off for the fact that each box only contains two flavours and that the sachets flavours are difficult to tell apart.

        • "Not huge meat content"

If its good enough for Myrtle.....!

My cat Myrtle has a huge appetite and is a fussy little thing and so I get through a lot of money trying to get her food right and filling up her tummy. I don't like feeding her on junk food and do look at the meat content of food and find that the better quality food I buy the less she seems to graze, saving me money and leaving me content shes happy!

This I bought in my local Tesco store costing me £2.49 for 12 pouches of it which I thought was great value though I was a bit concerned when I spotted it as it did seem very cheap and it was a brand of food that I had never heard of but I decided it had to be worth a go anyway!

        The Packaging:

The pouches come in a square box that is dark orange and white in colour and on the front and back of it there is a photograph of a cat and we are told that it is Claude 'Poultry' 12 x Chunks In Jelly Poultry Selection (6 x With Turkey, 6 x With Chicken), 12 x 100g and there is a photograph of the cat food shown. On the bottom of the box other information listed includes ingredients and nutritional advice, there is a feeding guide given, the best before date is shown and contact details for the manufacturer are given. The box has a section to the top of it that is perforated so that you can pop it through and use the box as an easy storage area for the pouches inside. The pouches are simply silver foil and on each one we are clearly told that it is and who it is by and so on and they are easy to tear open and dispose of. These also are available in a box of 12 in a fish selection too and are currently retailing at the same price as the poultry selection we tried.

        The Food Itself:

This smells rich and meaty and you get lots of small pinkish chunks of meat encased in a yellow looking thick jelly so to serve it and make it easier for Myrtle to eat I do mash it up.

She loves this one in both the chicken and the turkey flavours equally though with only 4% meat content I don't feed this to her for every meal. For an adult cat you need to give up to 4 pouches of these a day which I would need to but I alternate what I give her so personally I don't do that.

This though is a great food to have in

Available in all good supermarkets and pet stores and so on and like I have stated already I bought our box in Tescos.
