a great collar but I would advise removing the bell if your cat has nocturnal habits

I bought this collar for my cat a couple of years ago when we had just adopted him from South Birmingham Cats Protection. My cat Max was a rather large fellow, who when we adopted him was 8 years old and could not fit into a normal cat carrier comfortably, so we had to buy an extra large cat carrier for £60. So as you can imagine, the little fatty had to have a larger collar than other cats. We bought this collar because it was adjustable, and because we thought the bell on it would be useful for hearing him when he needed to come back in at night. I think we bought it from Sainsburys, and it wasn't expensive at all, about £5. We bought the collar in a snazzy leopard print and the bell on it was also in matching leopard print. The collar had a black clip and was adjustable to Max's needs. The collar has a safety clip on it which we thought was good because Max wasn't the smartest of cats, and would often get himself stuck in things. The collar did not come with a capsule to put your address and phone number in so we bought this separately, but he was micro-chipped and came home every night without fail any way so we weren't too worried. The collar was very good and he never scratched at it or looked as if it was irritating him. He never made any attempts to remove it so that was a good sign. It was easily adjusted but also stayed in place so did not strangle him either. However, the bell on the collar proved to be very irritating. Max was a cat who liked to run around in the night, all around the house, up and down the stairs, often causing mischief. Of course, the because he was wearing the collar, the bell would ring whenever he moved, and during the day this was fine, but at night it was probably the worst thing when you're trying to get to sleep, especially when your cat runs around like a maniac in and out of rooms, up and down the stairs and jumps on your bed. A very good collar, safety latch works well and does not irritate the cat. Also looks great and is adjustable, but the bell on the collar is very irritating and had to be removed. Also does not come with a capsule, but this can be bought separately and I would advise micro-chipping your cat anyhow.

      Great collar

When I first got my kitten I did buy him a collar but only for when we were staying with my parents as they have a cat flap and I didn't want him getting out and getting lost. We live in a flat so he is a house cat at home but as soon as he had had his jabs I decided that maybe he should go to Grandma and Grandads to go in the garden! Well Duke is rather fond of the garden so now he comes with me everytime I go to see them. He's actually got four collars now but this one is our favourite and most used! The collar is made by Animal Club and it is a safety collar which is the primary reason why I got this one because he is rather adventurous and I'd hate for him to get caught anywhere. The main design is the same as the one shown above with the black clasp and bell but it is a different colour. It is also worth noting that the packaging has changed since the picture above was added. The collar now comes on a bright pink cardboard background with Animal Club written in colourful letters at the top. Duke bought his collar from Ebay where I think that he paid something like £2.85 for it including postage which I believe to be a very reasonable price for a safety collar. I was unsure about this collar when I first saw it online because of the colour. It is a sort of medium brown and cream stripe and I would prefer Duke to have a bit more of a special collar but the range of safety collars does seem to be quite limited. When it arrived I decided to tighten it up before putting it on Duke because it is a cat collar and he is only a four month old kitten. However, as he is a Persian he is quite a big baby! I've tightened it to pretty much as much as I can and it fits perfectly which is great. Therefore, if you have a kitten whose smaller I would recommend looking for specific kittens collars. Getting it on Duke was surprisingly easy! I simply placed it round his neck and clipped it shut. It was easy to do up and there were no worries about catching his fur or skin. I think it looks fantastic on and out of his four collars this is definitely my favourite. I think it's his favourite too because when I take it off to comb him he picks it up in his mouth and brings it to me to put on! I am quite sure that he finds it comfortable as he is never fiddling about with it or tugging at it. It does look like it would be comfortable because the fabric is quite soft and keeps its shape well. I am really impressed with the quality of this collar. He has had it for about 6 weeks now and it still looks like new. His other collars have shown signs of wear just a few days after be has got them either by becoming frayed round the edges or looking very grubby. The clasp is good too. One of his other collars kept coming off in the garden as soon as even the smallest bit of pressure was put on it. This is obviously no good as if he did get lost chances are that he wouldn't have his collar! This is not the case with this one. The clasp opens easily if pulled on but we haven't ever found it on the floor after it's fallen off so I'm confident with this collar only coming off in an emergency situation when supposed to. There is a small bell attached to the collar which helps any wildlife escape if Duke decides they should be friends! It's also very useful for me when I can't find him! His last collars bell was really loud but this one is much more subtle and gentle but still does its job. This collar is great and I will definitely be buying some more from the range. I think the design looks great on Duke despite me not being sure before I put it on him. Duke obviously finds it comfortable and it is lasting very well. The safety clasp gives me peace of mind that he won't get hurt but it stays on if it's not tugged on so if he does get lost then I know that hopefully someone would be able to bring him back (not that he ever leaves my sight when outside - the one time I left him with my parents within two hours he had escaped and fallen down the toilet, they have always been great cat owners so maybe Duke is a bit too adventurous!) I would recommend this range to any cat owners as you are provided with a fantastic quality collar that gives you peace of mind.
