      Thanks for reading :)

I like to listen to music while driving around, therefore when the right side speaker in my car stopped working I decided it was time for me to buy some replacement speakers for my car. I was on the look out for small compact speakers that were good quality and also affordable, therefore when looking around at Halfords I came across these Alpine SPS speakers and thought id bite the dust and just go ahead and purchase them.

      Price

The Alpine SPS speakers are quite cheap in price for a pair of in car speakers. I purchased mine from Halfords for around £28 which is one the reasons why I thought it was a worth giving it a try considering the price wasn't going to break the bank!
I have also seen these on eBay recently priced at around £10 for used ones, and £15 for new condition. On Amazon it is priced at £35 but from market place sellers.

I hadn't really heard of the Alpine brand before, but apparently they are a highly reputable and are known for their quality and performance, which I can now vouch for.

These speakers actually look quite modern and funky, they are small in size and therefore are compact enough to position somewhere in the car so they are not visibly noticeable. These are still quite attractive for a pair of speakers, they have an inner blue circular section that consists of a titanium tweeter. The speakers have a black coloured circular rubber frame that protects the inner sound system of the speakers. The overall design of speakers are visually appealing and its small circular shape makes it easy to fit into small spaces and lightweight.

The part I was a little worried about was actually installing the speakers into my car, as it is something I had never done before. As these are small speakers I thought they would be fairly straightforward to fit into to my small car, which I was thankfully right about. When I took these out of the box I noticed to my amazement that they didn't come with any instructions! Therefore my partner came to the rescue and showed me how to install them, which is quite straightforward to be honest.

All that is required is to remove the old in-car speakers and use the same wires to connect to the Alpine speakers, once positioned in place my partner then screwed the fittings into place and then it's ready to use. It was really quick to install and fit into place, probably taking around 10 minutes in total. To be honest I could have done the whole thing myself, but as it was my first time installing speakers into my car I thought a little help from someone who had a bit more DIY experience wouldn't hurt!

I was happy with the sound quality of the speakers, they are relatively small and compact but still manage to produce high quality of sounds that are loud and clear. The best aspect of these speakers is the bass, it really does pump out great sounding bass and especially at higher levels of volume. I like my music playing loud while I'm driving down the motorway at night as it helps me stay awake, especially if it's a long journey. At high volumes the sound doest get distorted or make that irritating vibrating sound that can give you a headache, in fact I would say these speakers illustrates its full potential when playing music at high volume levels, as it lower volumes they did sound like any other ordinary speakers.

      Conclusion
      = = = = = =

These are great quality speakers that produce clear sound and exceptional bass. They are simple to install despite the lack of an instruction manual and for the price these are great compact quality speakers.

      Cheap and cheerful

These speakers used to be in my old car, they were being used with a basic radio / CD player. They were extremely cheap at the time I recall, how cheap I can't remember. The fact that they were affordable when most car systems and their accessories are so expensive made these all the more appealing.

The size of the speakers themselves was also important as my car was some what on the small side. These speakers were only around five inches across, this meant they just blended in to the car rather than being a stand out feature. The overall look of theses speakers is quite modern. The main face of the speaker is black, while the centre base drum is a dark blue, this can be covered by the speaker mesh that's provided for this purpose, but I preferred to have them with out, as it made them look far more expensive than what I had actually paid for them. The mix of the two colours works well with a dark car interior, which I had at the time.

I nearly always had the volume turned up to a reasonable, but not thumping level. They had a good sound, not great. At lower levels everyone in the car would struggle to make out what was being said or sung, even if they were right by the speaker. So medium to high was always the setting. This was out of necessity rather than preference.

They did however have a good base sound to them, this didn't result in any distortion whatsoever even at the highest volume setting.

These were a budget buy at the time, I didnt put much thought or consideration into buying them.
But in the end they served me well.

Great upgrade over factory car audio speakers, can't go wrong for the price!

I must say, my Alpine speakers are an immense improvement over my factory 1992 Toyota speakers! My Alpine speakers have a very good punch to them! These Alpine speakers are another proven fact of Alpines legendary reputable reputation!

Having an older Toyota van, I decided to cut a hole in the inside panels and place the speakers there. Since the panels were not rigid, there was a lot of bouncing and vibrating happening when the speakers were playing. To give an example, I could never go louder than volume 17 on my alpine deck.

After two weeks, I had enough! I could not whitstand this miserable sound although it was much better than the Toyota's factory speakers. What I did, I build a speaker box out of 1.5 cm thick Pine wood. I routed out 4 holes in the box and built it at an angle were the sound waves would be propelled at the ear level. Building a speaker box with four Alpine speakers in my van was absolutely the best investment I have ever made! I have the best sounding and clearest car audio system that I have ever had! If that wasn't enough, I was able to go to volume 35 without any distortion on the same Alpine car deck!

No doubt, these Alpine speakers are a very clear speaker. As an "audiophile", I can say that the Alpine SPS-1329S speakers reproduce the music as it was meant to be with a very nice punch! The Alpine SPS-1329S are able to reproduce the bass so clearly that I don't even run a sub-woofer with them, they are great!

I would highly recommend upgrading your factory speakers to these Alpine SPS-1329S speakers. If you have room and time, you might even want to consider building a speaker box for your vehicle. Highly recommended!

Cheap and cheerful, great for a first car or similar.

I've been riding around in my car with the stock speakers for far too long now and finally plucked up the courage to prise open the speaker grill (which I didn't break - hurrah!) to check out the space for suitable replacements. Armed with the dimaensions I had to work with I tootled on down to Halfords. They had less choice than I'd hoped for but among the sale items were these speakers. Not one to miss out on a bargain I checked the measurements and snapped them up.

The speakers aren't very big, around 5", making them ideal for the tiny space I had to work with. They're also not excessively deep and this was especially pleasing for me as I had very limited depth to work with. Having only ever installed one set of speakers before a long, long time ago, I was a little apprehensive at doing a DIY job on these. I absolutely refuse to pay to have these things installed though and in the absence of a brother or other suitable 'car fan' I gave it a go. It was really, really easy! Once I realised that my original speakers had a fitting that the wires are welded to and that this was removable, it was just a case of pulling this fitting out of the old speakers and plugging it into the new ones. It took all of about three minutes! Needless to say I was very impressed. It's just then a case of screwing the speakers into position using the predrilled holes and the screws from my old speakers. Job done!

The speakers have a modern blue and black colour scheme which I think is quite funky. It was almost a shame to cover them up with the speaker grill. Should you need to have them on show for whatever reason then they would certainly look the part.

In terms of perfermance the speakers were not noticeably better at lower volumes than the original speakers that I took out. I was quite disappointed but, looking back, I'm not sure what I was expecting from, what was after all, a cheap replacement. Happily they performed better at higher volumes with much less distortion and more bass which made me happy.

Not an outstanding set of speakers but a good buy for the money I spent on them (£25). The speakers I had originally (Clarion) weren't terrible quality in the first place which perhaps explains the lack of huge improvement in sound quality.

      Great value, compact speakers

If you like to cocoon yourself in a bass-rich box, then installing the SPS 1329S speakers is a great option. A small set, they are visually discreet while being equipped with enough technology to delivery music quality to match many other, more expensive products.

The rubber surround that frames the speakers is air injected, and limits exposure to moisture and humidity, which might compromise the performance of the speakers. The cool blue mid section holds the titanium tweeter, and overall the speakers are lightweight yet durable.

The 9/16" titanium-coated PEI balanced dome tweeter delivers high frequencies that will take you by surprise - although in a good way. Frequency response ranges from 50 to 25 000Hz, and they have a sensitivity of 91dB, which is much more than you could reasonably expect from a product of so modest appearance. If you enjoy listening to music at a high volume when driving, you will be pleased to note that the speakers deliver very little distortion even at the highest levels of volume. This owes to the low distortion magnetic circuitry of the I-drive, which enhances the woofer's response so that low end output is increased.

Bass delivery is particularly noteworthy, being as it is rich and clear. The speakers are also compatible with a separate power amplifier, although I have not personally experimented with this. The general precision of sound that the speakers convey, however, is superb. They pick up the many subtle nuances of musical tracks, allowing you to listen to music in your car in a way that almost rivals hi fi sound.

The speakers do not come with an instruction manual, but they are relatively straightforward to install. It might require a bit of tinkering around depending on your car model, but for the most part installation requires little more than slotting them into position and hooking up to the cables. This is a high quality product that enhances your listening experience extraordinarily. If you appreciate a good bass you will derive a great deal of use from this product.

      Brilliant set of speakers

I just got a new car and felt that the sound system wasn't quite up to scratch, as on most cars, so i went out to get a new set of speakers. I picked up a pair of these Alpine speakers, what attracted to me them first is their looks, its such a shame there going to be hidden behind a speaker grill.

Anyway after alot of swearing i finally got them fitted and cranked up the volume and believe me i could notice a big difference. They hit the high notes better thanks to the in built tweeter and a lot deeper bass, but it was also fast and aggressive. The clarity was superb and i could turn them up much louder than the previous speakers without distortion.

They were not hard to fit, just screw in and connect the two cables, all my swearing was because of my car door panels. The only downside was there were not any instructions, but to be fair it would be pretty hard to do this for all cars.
