HDMI lead will improve your picture if you have HD

I had to buy an HDMI cable for my freeview box to connect to my Sony tv as it is HD freeview. I would use it with my laptop for watching films on my tv in HD but My Aspire laptop has no HDMI output , annoying. I apologise for any boring jargon in advance, but this is a digital lead for HD. My tv has at least 2 HDMI outputs though as I have just moved the lead from the side to the back of the television to HDMI 1. This gives a much better picture than with a scart lead. I use the VGA lead to connect the laptop to the tv which works well as I have the laptop and tv both at 1080 60 hz, but am not sure it is as good as an HDMI cable. What I like about this and other HDMI leads as opposed to SCART or adaptors for HDMI or SCART is that this is easy to connect and take in and out. With the SCART socket I find it fiddly to put in behind the telly in the dark, and it damages the pins each time you don't connect it properly. This HDMI just goes in like a USB, no problem. This lead is available from Amazon at £9 plus postage. You can pay more and get a lead in a high street shop but they are all more or less the same as far as I can tell. It is of good quality, and gives me a decent HD picture from my freeview box.

      A terrific HDMI Cable!

I have used this cable to connect my Xbox 360 to my TV for the last 3 years. I picked it up for around £10 delivered at that time. It has not dropped much in price since then but it is still an affordable cable. Both ends of the cable are identical and so, it does not matter which way round you put it in as is the case with all HDMI cables. The picture quality is crisp and there are no drops in frame rate or any other issues with this cable. The fact that I have had this cable for 3 years is a testament to its reliability. I have taken it in and out many times to use with other devices such as to connect my laptop to my TV and it is equally as good. The only gripe that I had with this product was that I found the packaging rather difficult to open and it might not be too suitable for older users. Overall though I would highly recommend this HMDI cable; it is cheap and very cheerful.

Why pay more when you can get the same thing for next to nothing?

I bought a Blu Ray player and I wanted to increase the picture quality so I did the obvious and bought myself a cheap HDMI Cable. The cable I bought orginally was only £2 from Amazon trade. It worked fine to start off with then I started to notice crackling in the picture (when watching high quality blu-rays). I then realised the cable couldnt handle the 1080i picture quality. I then purchased this HDMI cable for around £5 and it worked perfectly soon as I plugged it in. I believe all HDMI cables produce the same quality (no matter what make, or price) so there is no point in paying £200 for a Monster HDMI cable. This cable does its job fine and was a great bit of business. It hasnt let me down yet, the picture and sound is fine and its more then long enough for what I need. Very happy so far with Amazon basics!

        definately one to consider.

When I bought my new HD TV for my bedroom I knew that I could connect my laptop to it and stream high quailty digital films directly from my laptop to my TV. If you have looked for HDMI cables in the past you will notice the huge variation in prices between manufacturers. This Amazonbasics 2metre HDMI cable costs just £8.99 a tthe moment, and with free delivery it is one of the very best value HDMI cables I have come across. I have tried other HDMI cables, borrowed from friends to see the quality I am looking for, but the AmazonBasics product stands up very well to the competition. HDMI cables can cost upto £70 and often exceed that pricetag, so it is worth shopping around for one to suit your needs. HDMI cables are also used for connecting the Xbox 360 to a monitor, and so their use is becoming more and more popular. The picture quality stands up very well to more expensive cables, but the difference is noticeable between the AmazonBasics and more expensive HDMI cables. This cable has plastic casing around the connectors at either end of the cabling, and aesthetically this is the only difference between the more expensive cables and this one. Personally, I wouldn't advise you take much notice of this, as the cable will happily sit there for many years and do its job, for me I dont think the build quality is comprimised in any way. The most important parts of the product (the internal cable and the connectors themselves) are of a high enough standard to be able to compete with the top end HDMI cables, therefore I am more than pleased with the outlay for such a good quality product. My opinion of Amazon and some of their creations is a mixed bag really, but this HDMI cable is able to compete with those costing many times more than it. If branding and looks are your thing, over picture quality, then you wont think too much of this HDMI cable. The branding is a little cheap looking, but AmazonBasics have kept the cost of the looks down to concentrate on picture quality and I applaud them for that. I couldn't be so harsh as to knock a star off for looks, as the price is so very competitive.

Don't even think twice about it, if you're looking to save some money while switching to HD.

When I first purchased by Viewsonic 22" 1080P monitor the first thing I purchased was this cheap, affordable, reliable HDMI cable. It's been proven countless times that spending more on a basic product doesn't always mean you're going to notice much difference. I use this HDMI cable to play my Xbox 360, plugging it right into the HDMI port, then connected to my monitor. The quality is superb, I have never had any problems so far with the cable, it's never broke, the quality has never dropped and it has always worked as it's meant to. I also use the cable to HDMI output from my laptop to my monitor, proving that this affordable cable does it all! The cable is easy to use, having to only insert each side of the cable into the designated HDMI ports which are found without any trouble. The cable is short enough for easy transport so you can take it around to another's and show them the difference when you switch to HD! If you're looking to save a little cash and go with the cheaper option, right now in this case that'd be the perfect thing to do. I should also mention that you're not going to be able to take your eyes away from your TV/monitor if this is your first time going to HD from a stand-def television, the change is quite dramatic.

          HMDI cable

Go for the cheaper one: AmazonBasics 2M HMDI cable. Two months ago I bought a new television. One that I could finally be proud on because before this one I had a tiny 10 year old television. My excuse was always that I never watch that much television anyway. This is in some way true only I do watch a lot of TV shows that I download on my laptop. So when I finally figured out that I could connect my laptop to a television that has a HDMI port, I realised I ran out of excuses. So I bought a new television and needed of course a HMDI cable! When you are going to look for a HMDI cable you will notice the big price differences between the different HDMI cables. I was shocked to see prices going beyond the 50 pounds for just a simple cable! When I asked what the difference is between a cheaper and more expensive cable, I was simply told that the expensive one is stronger and won't break as easy but that the cheaper one was just fine. With this is my mind of course I went for a cheaper version and on Amazon I found the basic HMDI cable. I mean even if this one breaks in a couple of months (what still hasn't happened) I rather buy a new one then spend 50 pounds on a very expensive one. AmazonBasics 2M HMDI cable is one you can get for around five pounds and sounded strong enough for me. Amazon states a a multi shielded cable, constructed with multiple layers of shielding ; durable, black PVC outer layer; and corrosion-resistant, high-quality, gold-plated connectors for optimal signal transfer. Which sounds good to me. Well using them for a couple of months now and they still work and don't show any damage. The cable combines both sound and picture and gives you a quality up to 1080p resolution, which is fine for the normal user of a blue-ray player or Xbox. The picture on my television looks really good and the colours look really good. When I'm playing a movie on the laptop watching on the television it doesn't look blurry at all. This is something I heard from other friends and the screen sometimes looks a little bit blurry here and there. Something to do with the settings but I never had any problems. So if you are looking for a HDMI cable don't spend to much money because it's really a waste of your money. The AmazonBasics 2M HMDI cable is good enough for your daily use and don't see any reason why I should have bought an expenisve cable. Really recommend this one.

HDMI cable - simple but effective

Remember when watching the television used to be a simple affair? Switch on the box and make your choice from the channels available. With the dawning of the age of home video recorders then later DVDs and now Blu-Ray players home entertainment has become more and more important to consumers and the choice available nowadays is staggering when compared to how it used to be as little as 30 years ago. Take my latest acquisition; a Blu-Ray player - it used to simple with a VCR as you only had an 'aerial in and aerial out' connection to your television which was relatively straight forward to sort out and every aerial cable was the same, soon after with the dawn of DVD players you had a new bit of kit to think about; the Scart lead and again this was a case of connecting the machine to the television via the Scart and off you could go with your film on a disc. Scart leads varied in quality and price depending what you bought but over the years they all pretty much performed the same and delivered the picture to your TV screen without any concerns. HDMI cables are the latest in the line of technological cabling which is a requirement for delivering a High Definition quality picture from your player to your television, and like the Scart lead from previous years they vary in price from the reasonable to the astronomical. Should you believe everything you read you could end up paying much more than you need to when buying a HDMI cable but there are cheaper options available to you. Luckily for me when I bought my Sony Blu-Ray player a promotion on Amazon allowed me to obtain a HDMI cable free of charge as opposed to the £4.99 it would have cost if I bought this separately. The "AmazonBasics Dual-Shielded High Speed HDMI Cable" to give it its full name is an Amazon own product and boasts a number of features which makes it comparable to a higher priced equivalent and in the time that I have used it I have experienced no loss in picture or sound quality. The cable measures 2m in length and its connectors are made up of layers of shielding which start with a PVC outer-layer and include 'corrosion-resistant, high quality, gold plated elements' which make up the connectors themselves. The cable is suitable for use with any HD device including Blu-Ray players and Gaming consoles and it really is as simple as connecting one end to your device and the other to your television. The connectors allow for a true High Definition delivery of images to your TV screen and I honestly can't see what difference a higher-priced cable would deliver. Amazon sell this in "frustration free packaging" which essentially means that the cable isn't shrink-wrapped in a blister pack, instead the cable is simply tied together and placed in a recyclable cardboard box and dispatched to you. It made a welcome change to open a box and not have to attack the packaging with scissors and although this alone wouldn't be the sole reason to buy this product it certainly is a positive aspect worth mentioning in this review and is 'frustration free' as they claim. There's not much to say about a HDMI cable to be honest, all I wanted to know was whether or not this would deliver a clear HD picture to my television from my Blu-Ray player and the AmazonBasics High Speed HDMI cable fulfilled the requirements asked of it. Mine was free but at the moment the same cable is available from Amazon for just £4.99 which is around half of the price of other brands, a perfect 5 star rating for me and highly recommended. Thanks for reading my review.
