      A delicious healthy breakfast

      I'm not a morning person, my usual morning routine consists of downing a few mugs of strong coffee to get enough energy to face the day. As much as I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it was a meal that I would routinely skip. In a bid to improve my health I decided to eat start eating breakfast but what to have was proving to be a bit of a problem. I dislike most cold cereals but didn't want to spend time cooking in the morning. This problem was solved when I spotted Oat So Simple with toppings on the shelf of the supermarket one day. Oat so simple is a fantastic idea, you get all the benefits of porridge without any of the hassle. To make the porridge, you simply add the contents of the red sachet to the bowl, fill the empty sachet with 180ml of milk and add this to the bowl and microwave for two and a half minutes. When you open the microwave, you will be met every time with a bowl of perfectly made porridge with a lovely creamy taste. The addition of topping makes the cereal extra delicious. The orchard fruit and nuts has a good mix of cashew nuts, sultanas, red apple and sunflower seeds giving it both a nutty and sweet taste. You get a generous portion of topping but I still find I like to have a swirl of golden syrup round the edges of the bowl for some added sweetness. I love how easy this cereal has made it for me to have a good healthy breakfast. The sachets with topping are already measured out for me, a portion made with semi skimmed milk coming in at just 255 calories. I've found that by eating breakfast I've no longer wanted to snack late at night and have lost three pounds over the past month whilst making no other changes to my regular diet. Oats have long been known for their health giving properties particularly in lowering cholestorol and the topping adds fibre. A packet of five sachets and toppings costs around £1.80, far more expensive than making a big pot of porridge but worth it for the added convenience.
