Really good start to using the machine. Excellent bread.

With bread prices remaining high in the shops and having previously been the owner of two bread makers (both of which sadly passed on to the great scrap heap in the sky!), I decided to give it another go and settled on this one from Kenwood. There is a wide choice out there, but Kenwood being a good name, I decided that getting what you pay for is the important thing here, so I discarded the cheaper models offered by others. At the same time, I couldn't justify spending twice this amount on something to save money on bread. The key skill with any breadmaker is getting to know your machine. You will make mistakes and have some rubbish bread, but with experience and follwoing the basic rules of what to add and in what order and quantity, you will reap the rewards. Ths machine is no different and we had some solid loaves, but after getting used to it (and quite quickly) it then produced for us some fantastic bread. When you get the formula - stick to it! We don't do all the fancy things it says you can, but prefer to stick to the regular loaves and this machine is very good at doing that. Word of caution - we have only had this for a couple of months and previous machines have lasted for around 18 months, so I do not know how this will compare. We wait and see......
