If you have read my other reviews, you will see that I am a bit of a fan of The Sanctuary products. Packaging The Sanctuary Mande Lular comes in a 500ml tub with a screw on lid. There is a sticker on the top of the tub which states: "A light body soufflé developed to reflect the traditional Yoghurt and essential oil based Indonesian treatment. Contains Horse Chestnut to detoxify & Camomile to soothe & purify". The tub itself is semi see through, the plastic is tinted white. Price In Boots, you can buy the 500ml tub for £7.95 which may seem quite expensive but you will be amazed at how long it will actually last you. Availability You can buy this Mande Lular cream either direct from The Sanctuary website or from Boots as this is the only place that The Sanctuary range is available to buy. The Mande Lular The soufflé itself is very light and non-greasy with a slight orange / yellow tint. Soufflé is an accurate description of this product as it does the same job as a moisturiser but has a much thicker consistency. It smells gorgeous just as all the other Sanctuary products do, nice and feminine but without being too sweet. Considering the ingredients include Horse Chestnut and Camomile, you cant really smell either ingredient, but it smells just like the other Sanctuary products, very distinctive. My Opinion I love this cream. I suffer from eczema and as a result of this, I quite often get very dry patches of skin. This product absorbs so quickly into my skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and moisturised. When you scoop a little bit of the cream out of the tub it feels cool to the touch and has a very light consistency. It rubs in so easily and best of all, it leaves no greasiness as many creams do. The scent of the product stays on your skin long after you have applied it which I love. I often use it before going to bed and my whole bedroom always smells of the product and quite often my skin still smells lovely the next morning. Summary I would definitely recommend this product. It certainly moisturises better than other creams I have tried and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. As the cream rubs in so well, a little really does go a long way so although it is quite an expensive cream, I think it is well worth the money and it will last you a long time. The gorgeous smell of the product would probably make me buy it again anyway but this coupled with the fact that it's a superb moisturising c ream means that its definitely a thumbs up from me!
Sanctuary products have become really popular now, so the name Sanctuary is no longer just known for the Sanctuary Spa situated in Covent Garden in London, but also for its great range of skin products. They state that they have used their experience to recreate relaxing and pampering spa therapies in a bath and body care range, so that you can enjoy your own sanctuary at home. One of my favourite products is the Mande Lular body soufflé. This strangely named moisturiser is a light body soufflé developed to reflect the traditional Yoghurt and essential oil based Indonesian treatment. The cream contains Horse Chestnut to detoxify and camomile to sooth and purify. Sanctuary state that you can surround yourself in its unique creamy soft formulation and let Camomile, Amica and Vitamin E purity, cleanse and moisturise leaning your body feeling soft, revitalised and pampered. I have to say that this was first brought into the house by my partner, and when I got out of the shower one day I thought I would try it. Personally, I think that the cream is unisex as the scent is neither feminine or masculine, you can just smell the clean fresh camomile fragrance. The product is supplied in a plastic tub, that comes with an inner lid as well, to ensure you don't get cream all over the twist top and making a mess, and I have to say it works. The tub contains 500ml of product and I have to say this lasts for a very long time. The cream is light and although must be full of oil is far from greasy. To apply just scoop out with you fingers and rub into skin. It soaks in quickly and easily. The cream has been made to detoxify and replenish weary tired skin. It is a really great moisturiser that makes you feel that your skin has been really revitalised and healthy.
*Introduction* I bought Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé when I spotted it in the bargain corner of Boots. I was fairly astonished to see this pot available to buy at the reduced cost of just £3. I had outdone myself on my bargain hunt with regards to this find, especially as I think that it was probably a mix up on the stores part. You didn't see me question this when I was paying at the till though. *The Claim* Recreate the indulgent benefits of the spa treatment at home with The Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé. *About the Product* The Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé contains a hedonistic cocktail of soothing chamomile, moisturising vitamin E and exotic spices to moisturise deeply and beautify your skin. It is the ultimate indulgent and nourishing skin treat. Chamomile is a recognised as a natural healing treatment that helps to rejuvenate the skin. Vitamin E is an fat soluble vitamin that traps and neutralises free radicals created by the environment and offers good protection for the skin. *Application* When using this product, scoop a liberal amount from the tub into your hand. You should rub the body soufflé firmly into dry skin using small, circular motions to leave your skin soft and softly scented. I often apply this to my skin after I have exfoliated and my skin feels unbelievably soft. I frequently focus on rougher areas of my skin, like elbows and knees as the impact is great. *Price and Availability* The Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé is available to buy in two different sizes. You can buy a travel size 50ml tub for £2.20 and a larger 475ml tub for £8.76. It isn't an essential product but it is perfect as a treat for yourself or a gift for friends and family. I would strongly recommend buying this body soufflé when the Sanctuary products are on a three for two offers which is a regular occurrence. You can purchase the body soufflé from your local Boots store or the Boots online website. Alternatively you can buy it directly from The Sanctuary Spa shop online at www.thesanctuary.co.uk. *My Opinion* The packaging: Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé is packaged in a clear plastic tub with a screw on and off lid. I like this style of packaging as it is very easy to use and you can scoop the quantity of the product that you want to use. As with the majority of Sanctuary products, the design of the packaging it uncomplicated yet stylish. It is vaguely recognisable to the brand as it has the same style although as it is a range within the Sanctuary brand, but it is not the regular Spa Essentials but the Mande Lular range. Colour, texture and smell: The colour of this body butter is an off white/cream with an ever so slight pink shade to it. Like the body butters that the Sanctuary sell, this body soufflé is fairly thick and lavish in texture yet it is slightly lighter when it comes to application and it soaks into your skin easily. It is also very creamy and silky to the touch whilst also being non greasy. The smell of this product is very feminine, floral and sweet with the slight scent off orange added. The scent of this body soufflé stays on your skin for some time after use although it isn't overpowering in its aroma. Does it recreate the benefits of the spa treatment at home? Yes. Yes. Yes. When I use this body soufflé, I feel like I am receiving the same benefits that I get when I have been for a Spa weekend. Minus the excellent massage that it. But the actual product itself makes you feel divine and fabulous. Does it moisturise deeply and beautify my skin? It most definitely does. I suffer from dry skin on my legs, it particular my knees and this body soufflé moisturises them fantastically to leave them feel hydrated and super smooth. Is it the ultimate indulgent treat? I'm not so sure I would go as far as saying that it is the ultimate indulgent treat, but it is most definitely up there with the best of them. I would always consider this product when buying something for my skin that will also cheer me up. Longevity of the product: A large tub of Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé will last you approximately 10-12 uses, depending on how much you use with each use and if someone else in your family takes a shine to the body soufflé. *Would I Recommend This Product?* I would recommend Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Souffle as a treat but not as a product that you would use on a regular basis for the simple reason that it would end up being quite expensive. I would suggest that you keep this product in mind for sisters, mums and girlfriends when it comes to buying those Christmas presents and you are out of ideas. This is a guarantee to win you brownie points! *Overall* Sanctuary Mande Lular Sensuous Body Soufflé truly is heavenly. I adore the feel of my skin after I have used this product, especially on my legs and the aroma of the body soufflé is lovely. It is easily one of my favourite products for moisturising my skin, it is just a shame that it eventually all used up. The Sanctuary Mande Lular is a moisturising body lotion that contains some pretty interesting smells. It's a light body souffle that contains horse chestnut and chamomile. Upon opening this container, I noticed that the aroma was quite nice, but sometimes won't appeal to everyone, from the opinions that I have gained knowledge of from my family and friends. I found the scent to be rather strong, but kind of nice at the same time. If you can't handle a strong smell, then you may not want to try this, because the scent will last for another day or more after you've applied it. The lotion is a soft creamy, beige colour that reminds me a lot of sweet condensed milk. The stuff actually looks almost good enough to eat! The Mande Lular may have a somewhat bizarre name, but my gosh, it does an amazing job of rejuvenating and rehydrating your dry and worn out skin. Once you've applied it to your skin, your skin will be soft as a flower petal! This stuff is available from Boots, or if you can't find it there it should be on their website at: www.thesanctuary.co.uk for a pretty good price.
Mande Lular Body Souffle by The Sanctuary Spa is a light body souffle/lotion that has a soft and sweet floral fragrance. The souffle is presented in a round opaque plastic container with a screw top lid. Upon opening the container, is an inner lid with a small handle for lifting up. I imagine this extra lid is to prevent the product spilly, or creating a mess in the screw top of the main lid. The lotion is a light cream/yellow color and is extremely light and non-greasy. To use the lotion, simply use your fingers to take a scoop of the lotion and rub into skin on the body. I found a little goes a long way - despite the fact that it appears to be a very light lotion! It is extremely moisturising as I have the worst dry skin and have up till now found it a mission to find a moisturiser that actually moisturises and keeps my skin moisturised until the next day. The fragrance is subtle, sweet and floral, and not over-powering at all. For the price of this souffle which is £8.95 for 500ml, I would say this is well worth the money. The other plus is that this product and the majority of The Sanctuary products are available at Boots, online at the Sanctuary website and in their spas in London. It would be good to see it in other places like Superdrug or supermarkets. All in all a lovely lotion, and the fragrance lingers all day - unlike many body lotions/moisturisers I've used! It's good value for money if you dont mind paying out a bit more than you would for your general off-the-shelf-moisturiser and it lasts a good while too depending on how much you need/want to use.
I used to live in Indonesia and know Mande Lular well (incidentally, it's actually spelled "Mandi Lulur" and is a traditional Indonesian pre-wedding pampering and is meant to have turmeric in it to make asian skin glow golden. They've obviously taken that out because it would make white skin just yellow - I know cos I tried it, haha) This Sanctuary Mande Lular stuff is actually FAR better than what you get in Indonesia. Apart from NOT making you look like a corn-fed chicken, it smells absolutely fantastic. I don't know anyone who doesn't like its smell. The souffle makes you skin feel wonderful afterwards and doesn't have that icky feeling many moisturisers have (i think many leave a residue on the skin). I find it makes you skin feel really silky and nice, but I'd buy it for the scent alone. It is a little on the pricey side and I hate spending money but I do believe it is worth it.
Well when i opened the tub, i battled with the urge to dip my finger in and taste it (something about having souffle in the title, i guess), nice creamy texture and the usual distinct sanctuary product smell. (regular users will understand). Loooveley, not as greasy as the sanctuary body moisturiser, my skin absorbed this instantly and left it feeling loveley and soft. I am a lazy moisturiser i mean to do it every day after i bathe but never do-with this i found it didn't matter if i lapsed a couple of days as my skin still felt really nice and my skin gets quite dry usually. Leaves a nice spicy and clean smell too-not too over perfumey so if you are going out on the town and want your skin soft and glowy, without a really distinct smell to distract from your perfume, then you want a tub of this (even better if you buy the mande lular set of scrub and bath foam too-serious indulgence!) I bought the set of 3 so the tub of cram was smaller than the average one you buy and it was £12 for the 3. Not very cheap but it's lasted me a good few weeks and i do use it regularly, so worth it i'd say!
A light body souffle which is based on a traditional yoghurt and essential oil Indonesian treatment / Contains Horse Chestnut to detoxify, Chamomile, Vitamin E and Arnica to purify and moisturize the body
