“ Brand: The Body Shop / Type: Exfoliator / Subcategory: Face Cream / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Smoothes, Exfoliates / Product line: The Body Shop Jojoba „
Skin type: All, including sensitive
:: Introduction ::
Having been using the excellent The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask, I decided to try another mask which I found in the Jojoba range to use in between.
:: What it claims it does ::
* Gently exfoliates without irritating the skin
* Leaves skin feeling smooth, soft and refined
:: Apperance and application ::
The mask comes in an off-white tub that stands upright on a flip-top lid. The mask is an off-white cream that has a light clay / oily smell that's not unpleasant. The texture of the mask is soft with tiny specks / grains; these are the powdered almond and walnut flakes that do the exfoliation. I apply a thin but consistent layer on dry skin. After the instructed time (10 - 15 minutes) the mask is completely dry, has become white and sits quite tightly on the skin. The actual exfoliation comes just before rinsing the mask off. Massage your face with the dry mask on so the grains can do their exfoliating effect. Even when dry, the grains are gentle and won't hurt even sensitive skin.
:: Results ::
* Gently exfoliates without irritating the skin 5 / 5
I used to have sensitive skin which is now normal as I now avoid harsh ingredients in cosmetics. I have been using this mask for 3 months and it's been very gentle on my skin.
* Leaves skin feeling smooth, soft and refined 5 / 5
The feel on my face afterwareds is smooth and filled. Some lines appear less pronounced (laughter lines around lips and frown line between brows) and this smoothing effects lasts for about a day.
:: Conclusion ::
I've been very happy with using this gentle treatment though I have to admit it's not quite as hydrating and line-smoothing as The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask. The really positive sides are that it's very gentle, can be used on all types of skin and up to twice a week. It's good value for money however sometimes I wish it came in 100ml as I'm using it twice a week since the beginning of the year and I only have about a third left. Recommended.
:: Price / Availability ::
I bought it for £6.35 / 75ml in The Body Shop.
Thanks for reading.

The Body Shop Jojoba Facial Cream Exfoliator is a great product, it doesn't just help exfoiliate the skin but also moisturisers to leave the skin feeling really smooth. I find that after using most exfoiliators you have to also use a moisteriser to soften the skin, but this works well by itself without the need for an additional product.
I found my skin was realy clear after using this product on a daily basis, my skin was completely smooth and also blemish free which is great!
I also have quite sensitive skin so I have to be careful with certain products, but this didnt irritate me at all. Its made from finely ground almonds and walnut shell powder, and has a lovely aroma.
It comes in a small tube of 75ml and costs £6.35. The actual scrub inside is really creamy and comes out quite thick, so you really only need to use a small amount.
I really like this product and would definitely recommend!
