“ Brand: Superdrug / Scrub / Type: Facial Scrub / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Exfoliates, „
Being prone to both oily and dry skin (Yes, very confusing!), i've found that its tough to find a face wash which works for me. Some face washes dry out my skin and leave it flaky whilst others make my face far too greasy which means more spots.
Daily facial scrub works perfectly. I thought i'd give it a try when i saw it on offer for just £2 (It's normally only £2.50). It said it was effective for spot prone skin and helps prevent blackheads which i get a lot of, especially around my nose. When i first used the scrub I noticed that it was pleasantly exfoliating without being too abrasive unlike some scrubs.
The results were obvious from the first use, it removed the shine from my skin and it didn't dry it out. After weeks of using it I've noticed a definite decrease in spots and blackheads.
The product comes in 150ml tubes, its thick and white with blue microbeads and is slightly grainy. It lathers up well on the face and i've found it also removes make up very well. It has antibacterial ingredients which is another reason it prevents spots.
As a student I find that the price is ideal and also the other products from the same line are brilliant and not too expensive either.
I use Superdrug's own range of products quite a lot, including their cleansing lotions; cream wash, exfoliator, and anti blemish gel. One of my favourites is their Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub. It costs me £2.50 for a 150ml tube. I know it says it's a "daily" scrub, but I don't use this on a daily basis - about once or twice a week, as I find if I use it too often it can be quite drying on my skin.
The lotion itself is housed in a compact sized soft plastic tube with a flip top lid which 'stands on its head' - I'm sure you know what I mean! The cream itself is thick in consistency and is a light pale green in colour. I lather it up in my hands (slightly dampening them beforehand) and this creates a nice lather which I gently apply to my face and neck - avoid the eye area though please as this is a delicate area and the skin around the eyes is thinner than anywhere else on your face. It has a delicate fresh fragrance and is quite a pleasant smell - not overly perfumed which I don't particularly like in facial products.
I love the tiny micro beads this cream contains and as I gently rub it into my face I actually feel that I achieving a good deep clean. The only downside to this lotion (as with all other lotions of this type) is that I find it quite difficult to remove all the tiny little beads afterwards. It seems that no matter how hard I try there are still some left lodged at my hairline. I find that if I dampen a face flannel and gently run this over my face (paying particular attention to the sides of my face) that all the beads will come off easily.
After I have used Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub I always feel that my face is squeaky clean but does not have that 'tight' feeling I am sometimes left with after using this type of product. I don't, as I say, use this product on a daily basis Ias I think that might be a bit too much for my skin. I also don't think it's necessary. Therefore one 150ml tube will last me a long time and I think it's really great value for money and just as good as some of the more expensive products I have used in the past.
I will continue to use Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub once this tube has run its course. It's a lovely product to use, not too harsh on my skin, and it gives me a great deep clean feeling and really seems to brighten up my complexion.

I am always trying to get my skin in better condition and as such my cupboard is full of different skin care products and this is one of them. I bought this from Superdrug when I saw it on offer at 2 for £3 which is great value considering the product is £2.50 on it's own for 150ml. Superdrug does a few products within this range and obviously advise that they are all used in conjunction with each other, there is facial scrub, cream wash, cleansing lotion, exfoliating wash and anti blemish gel.
The product comes in a soft plastic tube with a flip top white lid on the bottom for the tube to be able to stand on, the front of the tube is a minty green colour with a gold star in the corner and blue waves further down the tube. It is stated on the front of the tube that the product is antibacterial and also states that it minimises the appearance of blackheads, gently exfoliates and purifies. On the rear of the tube it states that salicylic acid is what the product contains and that this is a know spot fighting ingredient and gives the directions for use which are to wet face and gently massage into skin before rinsing thoroughly. It is also stated on the tube that you get visible results from day one and then on the rear of the tube you are told that this is based on a testing panel of 40 people.
On opening the tube there is a hole to allow dispensing of the product, the product is quite thick and a pale minty green in colour and filled with blue microbeads. There doesn't seem to be much smell to the product when it is in the tube but when you squeeze some out you are able to smell a subtle clean fragrance. When you apply this to your face the microbeads feel slightly scratchy to the skin but in a nice way and the oroduct dies not dry on the skin before you have chance to rinse it off. The product can be a little annoying to remove as some of the microbeads tends to remain on the skin but it is not too difficult and your skin is left feeling clean and smooth from the first usage which is great. As far as blackheads go I certainly did not see a difference within the first day however i did notice an improvement within a week or so however this product still did not clear them totoally from my nose but I do believe that I have really deep pores on my nose and am not sure I am ever going to find a product to totally reove these.
This is one of the few products that I haven't used a couple of times and then placed on a shelf and forgot about so it is one that I would certainly recommend.
Being prone to oily skin, blackheads and spots, I'm always on the lookout for new products to try to help keep my skin clear without drying it out. So I picked up this Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub in Superdrug. It's a Superdrug own-brand product so not available anywhere else. It's priced at a very reasonable £2.59 for a 150ml tube but the range often has offers on for '2 for £4' or similar.
The packaging is fairly attractive: it's a transparent squeezy tube with a flip top for easy dispensing. Through the clear plastic you can see the scrub itself, which is a light bluey green colour with little beads suspended in it. It looks very clean and fresh, and this impression is backed up by the fragrance, which is also very light and 'green'-smelling. The directions say to use it daily, applying to wet skin, massaging in and rinsing off. Apparently it 'facilitates the removal of dirt, oil and impurities, leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth and looking clearer. Used daily, it will help prevent further breakouts.'
Does it work? Well, once mixed with warm water on your face, it does lather up very well which is satisfying and means you only need to use a very small amount each time. The granules don't feel scratchy but you can feel them getting deep into your pores and washing away all the dirt. It also tingles slightly, presumably because it contains menthol which has a cooling effect. For this reason, this scrub may not be suitable for people with very dry or sensitive skin. Also, watch your eyes as it can sting a bit of you get it too close!
It's easy to rinse off using your hands or a flannel, and once you've dried your face it certainly feels nice and 'squeaky clean', with not a trace of makeup or dirt remaining. If anything, it's a bit on the drying side and I find I have to use moisturiser straight after the scrub, but as my skin is greasy I don't mind this. It doesn't make my skin flakey or sore however, just smooth and soft.
I've been using this product for about a month and I think it's helped my skin in general. I still get the odd breakout but if anything, slightly less often than before. As it's a bargain product and feels nice to use, I'll carry on buying it.
