      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A gentle and effective facial wash which leaves you feeling fresh and clean

I have skin that is fairly sensitive and that is prone to spots. I also wear a lot of make up and an oily complexion so a good facial wash is important but it is equally important for me to have a facial wash that is gentle and that won't cause spots. I always find that Simple is a good brand that works well on my skin because it is free from artificial fragrances and colouring, and they don't contain any unnecessary ingredients that might upset my skin. For these reasons I bought the Kind To Skin Moisturising Foaming Facial Wash

      What does the product do?
The product promises to gently cleanse the skin while nourishing it with Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5. It also claims that it will hydrate the skin leaving it feeling soft and looking healthy. It is suitable for use on all skin types, including sensitive skin and it promises to leave the skin soothed and calm.

      Packaging and Price
The product is contained within a white plastic tube which has a bit of information about the product and its name in green writing. It has a cloudy pale green lid on which it can stand so it looks neat and tidy in my bathroom. The product will cost you around £4 and it can be bought from stores such as Boots and Superdrug, large supermarkets and also from a variety of online websites.

How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to a damp face. You dispense a small amount of the product on your hands, rub then together and then massage the product over the whole face. It is gentle enough to use on the eye area too (as long as your eyes are closed!) and then you rinse the product away. You can then follow it up with a good moisturiser and your usual make up routine.

      Application
The product has the consistency of a gel and it is largely clear, although a little cloudy. It doesn't really have much of a smell and the smell that it does have, doesn't really smell of anything in particular. It feels pleasant on the skin and it didn't cause any discomfort of my fairly sensitive skin. It doesn't really foam and produce a lather, it just bubbles a bit but it still feels like its doing a good job. As long as I rinse the product away thoroughly, then I don't experience any feelings of tightness or dryness on my skin.

      Performance
The facial wash does leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It doesn't cause any redness and it hasn't caused any blemishes to form and it seems to be prevented new ones from forming. It cleanses my face well and leaves me feeling nice and fresh after use. My face is shine free immediately after use so it must be cleansed the excess oils from my greasy skin. It removes the majority of my make up which can be noticed when drying my face with a white towel as the towel remains white. It doesn't completely deal with all of my eye make up but then I do wear quite a lot of eye make up so it's quite a big job!

      Conclusion
All in all, this is a cheap yet gentle and effective facial cleanser. It leaves me feeling fresh and clean, and it removes the majority of my make up. My skin has remained clear since I started using it an d it looks healthier and in a better condition. I will continue to use this facial wash and I would gladly repurchase when it is all gone. You can't go far wrong with this product.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not very moisturising!

My mum gave me this along with several other Simple products she had recieved as she doesn't like them. I have checked online at Boots and this wash is £2.99 for 150ml.

The front of the bottle describes the wash as 'moisturising' it is described as having a blend of active ingredients and vitamin goodness. The active ingredient is listed as 'BISABOLOL' which is said to soothe and calm the skin. The vitamins are pro vitamin B5 and vitamin E, these are both know for their moisturising properties as well as softening and smoothing properties.

Reading the bottle the wash sounded ideal for my skin which is mostly dry, especially in the winter. I get really dry cheeks and a forehead and my skin can feel tight and itchy. A lot of products I have tried dry my skin out too much and it feels uncomfortable after.

The wash is easy to use you simply apply a small amount to wet skin then using your fingertips massage gently into the skin. The wash is really creamy out of the tube, this is usually a good sign for me as I find if the wash is creamier it is normally more moisturising. The wash lathered really well and it smelt really nice even though it was described as fragrance free. The wash removed my tinted moisturiser no problem and after rinsing my skin looked clean. I did notice that as soon as I had dried my skin it felt really tight. It reminded me of the feeling I get if I use soap on my face. My skin also looked really shiny. I had to moisturise afterwards and even then my skin felt tight and uncomfortable.

I wouldn't use this again, it didn't suit my skin type. Even though the bottle states it is for all skin types I think it would be more suited to greasy or combination skins as I found it particularly drying. I was really disappointed in this as I like other Simple products this one definately wasn't for me though.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Definintely one to try if you have problem skin of any kind

I'm a student, so in a permanent state of being completely broke, hence I tend to go for the most dirt cheap rubbish I can pick up in most cases. However, I have a mum who often feels sorry for me and makes up big packs of toiletries for me which usually include the entire simple range. The difference is so astonishing when I'm using these products, it just proves that really there are some things in life that are worth spending an extra couple of pounds on. And, let's face it, this range is not expensive.

Having sensitive skin, most things cause some sort of issue for me, so it's nice to know that Simple products have pretty much nothing in. And by that I mean the artificial, chemical things that cause the issues! I always have much softer skin when I'm using this facewash but it never makes my skin oily, which is still quite an issue for me being (just) a teenager. My skin also always feels really clean, which sounds ridiculous, but a lot of washes seem to deposit more on your face than they take away.

There are no perfumes in this wash so it does just smell of soap, but I actually prefer this as if every product had a distinct smell I'd smell like Lush stores... and you can locate them by smell in most major cities. Not the impression I'm trying to make...

Overall I love this wash, it's very kind to skin and leaves me feeling clean and refreshed and with lovely soft skin!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      .

I remember my sister using this when I was growing up. It never made me think it would be great, since there wasn't any kind of scent to this and it was all about the nice scents being a teenager at the time.

i've just tried this a few months ago. I have such bad skin and have tried so many face products. Someone suggested me to try this since it is unfragranced to see if it would work any better on my face.

I picked up the 150ml tube in Superdrug which is a shop i'm not normally in. They often have some not bad offers in here, and I was drawn in by a Shampoo deal. This was £2.30, and I think the price was around £3.60-£4.00.

The tube was alright that this was in. An easy to squeeze plastic tube which stands on it's end. The colouring is white and it looks quite simple and natural.

This product doesn't contain any Soap, which I was hoping meant that it wouldn't dry my cheeks out anymore. Although my skin is oily, my cheeks have a touch of dry skin on them. It is meant to be good for sensitive skin as well, but mine's isn't particularly sensitive.

As I mentioned no scent to this. It just smells like an airy scent and perhaps a touch of creamy scent to it, but nothing really scent wise, but I knew this before I bought it anyway.

A little drop of this goes a long way. It was more of a cream than a gel, and it lathered up straight away when applied to wet skin. I thought that this would be quite heavy or that bit drying but I was surprised. It rinsed off easily enough, and when i patted my skin dry and felt my face afterwards then it felt that bit softer as well.

This cleaned my face well enough, added a bit of moisture to it, and although didn't really banish my spots or make my red patched disappear then I knew that this kind of product wouldn't do that. It wasn't a spot tackler and didn't claim to be. However this didn't give me any more spots and sort of refreshed my face and made it feel nice and clean.

I would use it again and recommend it for a simple, no frills kind of face wash.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Brilliant, quick, easy facial wash from Simple

I think Simple is one of those brands you can always rely on, they never fail to deliver. I love the simplicity of their products and that they specialize in sensitive skin. I've also spoke to them on their facebook page & they're very helpful & nice people. I've used their products since I was 12, it was the only skincare I could really afford in them days, but my skin was always commented on. I never realised I had sensitive skin until I tried other products and then my skin was in hell.

I finally went back to my beloved Simple, but as I was a bit bored of the puryfying cleansing lotion I've used for years, so I went to Superdrug & opted for this Moisturising Facial Wash for £2.99. I'd never tried a facial wash before so was excited for something that was just quick & easy to use in the morning & maybe wake me up.

The product is 150ml, it comes in simple squeezy tube that you can recycle & just looks plain and simple like most of the products in this range, its very easy to get a controlled amount and it comes out like a clear liquidy gel.

I wet my face with warm water, squeezed a 10p coin sized amount and massage it into my skin, you don't need a lot of this. It foams up really nicely and after you wash your face it gives you that fresh faced clean feeling. After using this for a few weeks my skin cleared up nicely & I was more than happy with it.

But, however, I now use it sparingly as it contains the ingredient 'Sodium Laureth Sulfate' which is used as a foaming agent in cheap detergents and most shampoos, it strips oil, so imagine the what it is doing to your face. Great for oily skin I suppose.

        The face wash contains :
        Pro Vitamin B5 - softens & restores
Vitamin E - improves skin condition
        Bisabolol - soothes & calms
& No perfume or colour & is 100% soap free.

        Other ingredients are :
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sufate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betalne, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Panthenol, Glycol, Disterate, Sodium Hydroxymenthylgyclnate, Menthylparaben, Citric Acid, Bisabolol, Polyquaternlum-39, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cocamide MEA, Laureth-10, Disodlum EDTA, Dlpropylene Glycol, Benzolc Acid, Pantolactone, Anthemis Nobllls Oll. Pelargonlum Graveolens Oll, Propylparaben.

Overall, I think this is a brilliant effective, refreshing facial wash by Simple who have been around for years & are trusted by everyone. I love the fact they don't test on animals & contain no perfume or colour, but concerned about the Laureth Sulfate in this product so will only use it every now and again as it is great face wash & I do love it, the price is another added bonus for me.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A good facial wash for sensitive skin.

I like to wash my face after removing make up. However, my skin can be sensitive and I hate the tight, dry feeling of soap based products. This is where Simple Facial Wash comes in. Simple products are designed for sensitive skin. They are colour free, perfum free and the Facial Wash is also soap free.

I would never have guessed it, but appaprently Simple is the No.1 UK Facial Wash Brand. The 150ml tube costs about £3 and is readily available in Boots and supermarkets. I probably only buy 2 tubes a year, as they seem to last ages. As a result, I would say that this facial wash is very good value for money.

Simple claim that their Facial Wash is "a perfect blend of active ingredients and multi-vitamin goodness to keep skin thoroughly cleansed and nourished." It contains Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and Bisabolol. The white, opaque gel like cream foams easily on contact with water. I usually apply it with circular movements to my face, and it very easily removes the final traces of my make up. The facial wash is also quick and easy to rinse off with clean water.

I'm not sure that I have come across a facial wash that really nourishes skin. I tend to find that you are better to rely on a facial wash to clean, and a good moisturiser to nourish. Whilst I wouldn't say that Simple Facial Wash is nourising, it certainly cleans effectively without drying my skin out. It is also really gentle on my skin, and I have never had an adverse reaction to it.

This product does what it says on the label, which is why I buy it. It's very much a functional, rather than an exciting product. However, if you want an effective facial cleanser for sensitive skin, I would recommend this one.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Dont think i will buy again

I never usually use soap or shower gel on my face as it tends to dry it out and make is sore, tight and shiny. Having said this, i dont want to spend a fortune on a face wash so i paid £2.99 for this from Semi Chem. Its a 150 ml bottle which i think is quite good value.

On first use i onlu used a tiny amount as it says its a foaming face wash so i thought i would only need a small amount to get a good effect. But it didnt get much of a lather and didnt really clean my face properly so i now use about the size of a 2 pence piece. I know Simple products are for sensetive skin and they dont have a lot of harsh ingredients or anything in them but i was expecting something better or more exciting to be honest. I didnt really make much differnce to my skin, it didnt feel really especially clean or mouisturised even though it said it had a mouisturising effect.

The good thing about it was that i got off my make up, but saying that i havent used it after a big night out were i wear a lot of make up. Only when i have had very little on, just a bit of concelear and one coat of mascara.

There is nothing really bad about it, and if you have sensetive skin it will probably be find as there so smell or anything of of it. Its just a bit too bland for me, and i have used face washes in the past that have made my skin look better and not just washed it.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great face wash for every day use

Forever on the search for new and effective (and ideally inexpensive) beauty products, I seem to keep coming back to the Simple Foaming Facial wash, which pretty much lives up to its given name. Like other Simple products, there are no unnecessary chemicals added to it, and they are unfragranced. As I have blemish prone skin, I have usually used special treatment based face washes, but I dont think that its so necessary to do this, as i think the skin benefits from gentle treatment, and besides, the face wash is only on your skin for a small period of time (unlike face cream) so it doesn't matter too much what kind you use as long as it cleans your skin without stripping it too much of essential oils.

In this sense, this face wash is perfect as it is both cheap (not too long ago I bought 3 tubes for £5 on offer from tesco, which I thought was a very good deal), its nice and creamy lather so feels good on the skin, and it gently cleanses as well as moisturising, so your skin doesn't feel stripped, as it can with some harsher face washes. My personal tip if you are wearing foundation, as some face washes are gentle to remove deep set makeup, I use a hot wet flannel to remove makeup and then use the face wash, which I think works pretty well, and again you're not using too much chemicals on your face.

I love the Simple range in general, as they are nice gentle products, and if you are debating to give it a try, you've got nothing to lose.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Excellent face wash for people with sensitive skin

I bought this due to having reactions to a few other brands of facial wash and I think that Simple are a trustworthy brand for those of us with sensitive skin.

This costs about £3 for a 150ml bottle though offers are quite often on. It comes in a white tube with a green base with an easy to open flip top lid. It claims to contain vitamins (B6 and E) which will help to soften skin and improve it's overall condition and also to contain no perfume, colour or harsh chemicals which could irritate.

It is very easy to dispense and I find you only need a small amount as it foams rather well and is easy to apply to your face. It also rinses off easily. Don't be expecting a lot of luxurious foam or anything like that, it is essentially a 'simple' product! There is a very slight hint of a scent which is quite fresh smelling and pleasant.

I found that the product did a good job of removing grease/dirt and reducing the likelihood of spots appearing and it didn't cause any reaction. It left my skin very smooth and moisturised. I would use it again and recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              A good bathroom staple

The Simple range of products is, as you might expect, driven by the concept of simplicity. Their products are contain no artificial colours or perfume and, although originally designed for people with sensitive skin, now come in a wide range which are suitable for all skin types. They are an established brand and one I trust and return to time and again.

When I was looking for a reasonably priced facial wash, I returned to Simple as I have always had good experiences with them in the past. The product I chose was their Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash. It was priced £2.99 in Boots for 150ml at the time of purchase but is widely available. The wash claims to contain 'multi-vitamin goodness for naturally healthy skin' which definitely sounded appealing! The packaging reflects this idea of natural simplicity, consisting of a white background with a simple green design which calls to mind plants and organic ingredients. The bottle is a conventional shape for face wash, with a wide flat lid which acts as the base for the product so that it is ready to dispense when needed. Although nothing drastically innovative, the design works well, the size of the opening and consistency of the product make it easy to control how much you are using. The product is a very pale green colour with a slightly opalescent effect. As you might expect, there is no noticeable scent to the product. It lathers well although if you looking for huge amounts of lathery foam, you will be disappointed. The wash does not feel like anything luxurious or indulgent, but it is easy to use and a little goes a long way. It also rinses of easily without any residue and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean.

Looking on the website, the proclaimed benefits of this product are vitamin E to moisturise skin and improve its condition, pH balanced and 10% soap free to avoid tight, dry skin after washing. I would agree that this is the case here. Normally if I don't apply moisturiser fairly soon after washing my face I do get that tight, uncomfortable feeling in my skin; with this wash, I have not experienced that.

Overall, this product is fairly basic and a good bathroom staple. If you are looking for something all singing and all dancing, then you probably need to look elsewhere. If, however, you are looking for a reasonable pricing face wash which can be relied upon to do what it claims to do, then Simple will not disappoint you.

On a slight aside, I would also recommend their website if you are looking for further information. It is very straight forward and well laid out, and has user reviews and links to retailers which supply the product as well as offering a range of well priced gift packs online. Their range is a lot wider than I had realised so it's definitely worth a peek.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Good quality cleansing at reasonable price

Sensitive skin is something a great number of people suffer with and in the winter it can get worse with the biting cold and just a drastic change in temperature, making it red and sometimes blotchy.

I have never been one to wash my face with soap as i find it dries out the skin. It was about 5 years ago i discovered Simple Foaming Facial Wash and liked the idea of the fact that it is not soap, it is for sensitive skin and it does not contain any perfumes. It comes in a 150ml large tube which is stored with the lid at the bottom so it is easier to dispense by squeezing the tube, like a toothpaste tube and contains a quite thick pale coloured, gel like lotion and only a small amount is needed to create a lather when used with water.

Some facial washes tend to leave the skin feeling very tight but what i love about Simple, is that it creates a good lather, cleansing the face really well and leaving it feeling soft and not tight at all. It washes easily off the face with warm water.

I find it a good quality, reasonably priced facial wash that is great if you have a skin that reacts to anything put near it.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                Good value, try it!

I have said before in my 'Simple' moisturiser review that I love 'Simple' products and this face wash is no different.

I have been using the face wash for a few months now, it was a present from my grandma as she knows I have sensitive skin and I struggle to find face washes Im happy with. I often pick creamy face washes as products like clearasil irritate my skin, but then I find that I don't get that clean feeling as they are too creamy. This face wash is perfect, it doesn't irritate or dry out my skin but it removes my make up and my skin feels clean after I have used it.

I had a look in Boots and I think it costs around £2.99, but you could probably get it cheaper from superdrug or somewhere like Wilko's. I think it is reasonably priced, as a little goes a long way and I still have alot left in the bottle after a few months use.

The fash wash comes in a large tube with a flip top lid, this keeps it nice and water tight in my shower and next to my sink and the tube sits on its lid so you can easily control how much of the face wash you want as it comes out very easily.

You only need a little of the face wash as it foams up alot when applied. It doesn't have a smell which is what you would expect with simple products. It feels really nice on your skin and washes off easily without leaving a sticky feeling like some face washes do.

After you've used the face wash your skin is left feeling lovely and soft and not tight at all, this is probably due to the fact it's 100% soap free. Now, after a few months of using the face wash, I can really notice a difference in my skin, it looks alot healthier. I think this is down to a combination of using the face wash and the simple moisturiser I previously reviewed, their products really suit my skin type.

All in all a lovely face wash that removes make up, leaves your skin feeling clean and soft and looking really healthy, 5 Stars!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

One of the most effective facial washes in its price band

I'm really fussy when it comes to washing my face - I want to feel thoroughly cleansed and refreshed, but not sore or irritated; I hate using soap but still want plenty of lather; ideally the product I use should smell gorgeous or have no scent whatsoever; and I don't want to spend a lot of cash! Oh, and after washing I must be moisturised, blemish-free and beautiful.

This soap-free facial wash from Simple does actually go a fair way to satisfying most of the above, and it certainly doesn't cost the earth. Plenty of lather is produced (certainly in the 'soft water' part of the country where I live, although I wouldn't like to make any promises if you live in a hard water area), and I do feel clean after washing with it. A little goes a long way and, as this facial wash is fairly inexpensive to start with, I'd have to say it's pretty good value for money. There's virtually no scent, as you'd expect from a sensitive skin product, and my skin never feels stretched or dry afterwards.

The only slight downside, for me personally, is that this facial wash doesn't leave me with a really 'zingy' fresh feeling, but you can always get that by splashing your face a few times with cold water after washing!

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

A reasonably effective face wash for those with sensitive skin

I've never been a soap and water type of girl when it comes to washing my face. Since being young I have always used some form of face wash as I have pretty sensitive skin and have had many a break out or red rash after using less sensitive products or soap and water. Therefore when I seen Simple Foaming Facial Wash I was confident the product would suit my needs as the Simple brand is suitable for more sensitive skin like my own.

                    ***Packaging and Claims***

The Simple Foaming Facewash comes in a 150ml tube shaped bottle which stands up and at the top has a green flip lid. The colours on the bottle are pale green and white fitting in with the usual Simple brand colours. Like all of the Simple products the claims on the packaging are that the product contains no perfumes, no colours and is 100% soap free. The claims on the packaging are:

                    * Dermatologically tested and approved
                    *pH balanced
                    * Suitable for sensitive skin
                    * Contains Pro- Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E

From the packaging this sounded perfect for my sensitive skin and I was hopeful that my skin would be left clean and refreshed without any irritation.

                    ***Price***

For a 150ml bottle/ tube I paid £2.79 in Boots which I thought was averagely priced. Not the most expensive face wash I could have opted for aimed towards sensitive skin but not the cheapest face wash either so I had high hopes for this face wash . Tesco currently have this product on offer for £1.79 which I think is much better value for money.

                    ***Application and Results***

I used the foaming face wash in the morning before I applied my make up. Before I applied the product to my face I rinsed it with water so it was wet.

I applied the product to my hand first (an amount about the size of a 10p piece) and was surprised as the product is thick in consistency, using this is not the case for "sensitive products". This is a creamy white coloured liquid and when it was applied to my face it made a real lather; much more than is achieved with most other face washes. The face wash is perfume free and as a result has no real scent to it. I think this has a very light fragrance very much like freshly washed cotton but this is a very light scent. For those that like a scented face wash product than this is not for you.

Once I had washed my face with the product massaging it in circles I rinsed my face with water. The product very easily rinsed off my face with water and immediately after patting dry with a towel my face felt very clean. I liked that my face did not have a greasy coating left on it like some facewashes seem to do but I did feel although my face felt clean it did not have a super refreshed feel to it.

After use my skin did not really feel much different to touch. I personally would have like to be left with more of a smooth and silky touch to it. After using the Simple facewash on a number of occasions I did not achieve this soft touch feel to it like I would have hoped.

A major advantage of the Simple product is that it is very kind and gentle on sensitive skin. My face was not left feeling at all irritated in particular around the sensitive skin on my eye area. I also did not end up with any breakouts of spots after using this product as my skin was left with no excess oil but also the facewash did not dry it out.

                    ***Overall***

This is not a bad face wash by any means in fact it is very good for those with sensitive skin. However I did not feel that it was worth the £2.79 that I paid for it as although my skin felt clean after use, it was not left silky smooth like how I would expect from using a face wash, especially as this is not the cheapest product on the market. My demands are obviously more complex than this Simple product can achieve......
