I bought this recently while I was doing my grocery shopping in Morrisons. I suddenly realised I needed a new cleanser, and after a quick look around this one seemed to be the best on offer. I paid £2.99 for the 150ml tube, but I believe it's usually around the £4 mark. The packaging is what initially drew me to this product, it's a lovely turquoisey blue colour which really looks nice and stands out among the more boring white bottles on the shelves. The tube is semi-transparent so you can always easily see when it's running out, and it has a flip top lid making it really easy and convenient to use. The plastic of the tube is nice and flexible which means it's easy to squeeze the product out even when you get down to the last bits. The cleanser is like a fairly thin, runny gel consistency which is clear except for little whitish flecks within it that are the exfoliating bits. It has a fresh scent which is quite innocuous really, I can't say I notice it while I'm using the cleanser. When applied to wet skin it lathers quickly so you don't need to use much at a time (I actually usually end up with far more than I need because it comes out of the tube quite quickly!). It feels nice and refreshing on my skin and it's lovely to massage it over my face. It does feel like it's cleansing effectively but I don't feel any kind of exfoliating action at all. It rinses off easily leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean. At first I was quite impressed with this cleanser, it seemed to leave my skin nice and clean and help to keep it looking clear without drying it out or leaving it feeling tight. However, after a few uses I noticed that my skin was getting a lot more oily than usual and staying that way all day. Considering this product claims to be 'oil balancing' I found this extremely disappointing. My skin does get oily in the t-zone anyway, but with this I found I was looking really shiny just an hour after cleansing, and it was so bad that I could actually feel the oil on my face, which is just a horrible feeling, not to mention making me really paranoid about how it looked! All in all I really don't like this cleanser. Simple products claim to be fairly pure and gentle, but it seems like this was over-stripping my skin causing it to produce even more oil, which is the opposite effect to what I want and to what it claims to do. Not recommended.
As I have combination skin I decided to try this Simple face wash in the hope that it would balance my skin and reduce any shiny areas. I have sensitive skin and have long been a fan of Simple. The exfoliating beads are small but effective and aren't too rough or coarse in texture. I found this to a plus due to my sensitive skin, but others wanting a very thorough scrub would perhaps prefer something a little more coarse. The exfoliator has little to no scent (a Simple selling point) which I personally prefer to heavily scented products. This helps the skin smell cleaner and more fresh. Despite it's claims, I did not find the scrub to reduce the oilier parts of my face, but this may be due to the fact I did not use the full range of products for maximum effect. My skin felt clean after use but I saw no difference in the quality of my skin over a few weeks. The product successfully removed all my makeup (except for stubborn mascara), though this is not a specified feature of the exfoliator. The tube costs between £3 to £4, which is reasonable for an exfoliating scrub. But for me, that is all it is. I did not find this product's USP of balancing oily areas to work for me.
This has been my current facial wash for several months now and it still hasn't failed me. As a woman with combination skin, I have paid my time and suffered with several facial scrubs that have destroyed and hindered my skin but thankfully i discovered simple. It is not the cheapest product out there for your skin but in terms of general supermarket prices, it is quite an average price and it always has fluctuating prices as it is sold on offer a lot. However, it is simply because this product is gentle on my skin and does the trick that I think it is definitely worth the money you pay for it. The brand looks good and is easy to use. The flat lid means you can really get your moneys worth but nothing gets stuck at the top of the bottle. The consistency is slightly like a gel but it also has small beads inside to exfoliate the skin which makes my skin look brighter too. It doesn't lather up that much which is nice because it is easy to keep out of your eyes. Once it was washed off and my face was dried, my skin felt clean and fresh and as sufferer of oily skin, my skin looked really healthy. It hasn't got a really overpowering smell and yet it still wakes me up in the morning and makes me feel ready for the day. I've been using it for months and it still works and my skin feels really great. For anyone who finds it difficult to find a skin product which isn't too harsh but still works, I seriously recommend this!
After a somewhat disastrous experience with the Simple exfoliating wipes I am pleased to report that Simple have not let me down in supplying a suitable sufficient exfoliating scrub! Thank goodness. The wash comes in at around £3 - £4.50 for approximately 150ml (Depending on where you buy it) and I can happily say it much better than the wipes, the product smells good and works well. As I mentioned in the other review I had had to revert back to the old school method of scrub wash, a little more effort but I guess Granny was right: Sometimes just a lick and some elbow grease is all you need (And she would know. He skin was FLAWLESS. Damn....) I would like to just highlight one thing about the scrub, it does work, but you do need to use it on a regular basis as it is only a gentle scrub (As my darling dermatologist told me - This is much better for the skin) Likewise, as with any routine by which you aim to improve the quality of your skin expect to see it all get worse before it starts to get better: Trust me, every time I know this, and yet, without fail, I still panic and freak out when it all gets worse and ALWAYS forget that things will improve over time! As with the whole Simple range the product is Hypoallergenic and is free from all the chemical nasties - Perfect if you want a more natural approach to skin care (It's perfect for us belles with delicate skin) I think the product is good value as it comes in at a decent price and it lasts well as you don't need a lot for each use (About a 10pence sized blob will do) It also works out to be particularly good value if you buy this product on offer (No word of a lie, I mention this a lot, I don't see there being anything wrong in having rows of the same product at home..........) As I use this often I'm going to suggest if you haven't, take the leap, I will be buying it again (Well, I wont, not for a while anyway as I have quite the supply....) It's a great way to keep you skin soft and free from flakes - Simple!
I love Simple brand products and a few months ago I decided that I would pick up the Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliation Wash to try and get rid of the oily skin I sometimes get on my cheeks and chin. This facial wash has 2 nutrients in it to aid with oily skin and blemishes, they include hazel which helps reduce blemishes and natural zinc to absorb excess oil. It also has the vitamin B5 to actively restore, soften and smooth skin. This facial wash is good to use on your skin as it has no perfume or harsh chemicals in it, I have quite sensitive skin and I found that I can use this face wash fine without coming out in a rash or feeling irritated. The actual face wash is quite soapy in texture and you can't really feel a lot of beads to scrub your skin with, even though it claims to exfoliate. It has quite a nice texture when I am rubbing it into my face and it makes a nice light lather that is very easy to wash off. I quite like the smell of this face wash, it smells really clean and I can smell quite a strong smell of hazel from it as well. This face wash isn't as messy as some of the ones I have used in the past, and as long as I do not use too much of it at a time, it is quite easy to apply and rinse off. After using this face wash I found that my skin was immediately less oily, it definitely had a great effect on my skin. My skin didn't have less blemishes on it for a while, but after about 4 washes I started to notice them disappearing and also my skin tone looks a lot more even since I started using this scrub. You can buy a 150ml tube of this face wash for £4.29 in Boots, this is a little expensive, however I usually buy this on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots as it regularly goes on offer. A 150ml tube of this facial wash lasts me about 2 months if I use it twice a week, so it does around 16-20 washes. Overall I think that this is a great facial wash, it has definitely helped me control my oily skin and also it is very gentle on my skin. I have noticed a decline in blemishes since I started using this wash, however it did take a little while to start working. Overall I would give this 4 out of 5 stars. *also on ciao under lorrainek90
I bought a tube of this from the Savers shop in town last week and it cost me £1.99 which is a good price to pay as it usually retails around £3 depending on where you buy it from. I have bought this before as I like the Simple range of products due to the fact that I have sensative skin and have to be careful what I use on my face so that I don't come out in blotches or a rash, this is gentle on the skin so is suitable for me and I have bought it more than once before and it is something I will buy again as I like the results it gives me on my skin. This is a 150ml tube of exfoliating gel and it has no perfume, or colour in the ingredients and it is dermatalogically tested so you can use it on sensative skin. It has vitamin B5, Zinc and witch hazel in it and witch hazel is very good for clearing up spots and giving the skin a smooth soft feel. You only need a little of this for it to lather up quickly and then gently rub it around the face with your fingers, massage it into the problem area's of the face which are usually around the nose, chin and t-zone so that you can feel the skin getting soft and then rinse it off with warm water. The results can be seen immediately as you can see the pores are looking clean and the touch on your skin will feel like the skin is soft and smooth. I like this product as it is gentle yet works really well to cleanse and soften the skin leaving it feeling fresh and clean. I'd be happy to recommend this to you if you haven't tried it before as it's cheap to buy, works well and is easy to use as well as being suitable for sensative skin.
I have used a few different types of exfoliators but I am not a regular user of them. Some of them I have found to be quite harsh on my skin and others have been so ultra gentle, it hasn't actually felt like I have exfoliated - more like a gentle wash! I was looking for something a bit more 'in between', if you like, but at the same time something that was going to be kind and gentle to my skin. I have fairly dark skin and it is prone to oiliness, especially down the T zone. I have used Simple products before and have always been impressed by the quality, not to mention the fact that they are so reasonably priced! I bought a tube of Simple Clear Skin Exfoliator from Superdrug at only £3.99 and I think I was immediately attracted by the lovely turquoise blue of the tube. It stands 'on its head' in a flip top tube and although the packaging is not anything to write home about, the blub on the reverse told me everything I needed to know about the product. It sounded like it would do the job. I used it that same night, following the instructions carefully. I had cleansed my face beforehand and used a tiny pea sized amount on my damp hands and gently massaged them together to create a lovely light foamy texture. I then gently massaged the foam onto my face, paying special attention to my T zone. When the foam is created I was rather pleased to see it wasn't also turquoise (as I think that might have put me off a bit) but rather a nice light colour. The foam felt lovely and gentle and light and creamy on my skin and as I gently massaged it in I was able to feel some very light grainy bits - which I suppose are the bits that are exfoliating. I was surprised, however, that there wasn't as many grains as I was expecting. There were only a few and I think personally it could have done with a fair few more in order to be a bit more effective. Afterwards my skin did feel noticeably softer and smoother and I was rather pleased with the overall feel of my skin. What I love about this product is that it contains Witch Hazel (which is a well known natural anti bacterial agent), zinc oil and Vitamin Pro Vit B - all of which I personally think go towards making this a really effective product. Okay, so it could have done with a few more grainy bits, but overall I was very impressed with the product and would recommend it.
I recently noticed that sitting in a humid office all day was causing my skin to become quite oily by the afternoon. I tried oil absorbing sheets but in the end decided to look for oil control products to use on my skin. Simple is one of my favourite brands so I was really pleased to find that they do an oil-control range. So I immediately bought the face wash and matching moisturiser. The face wash is £3.99 from Boots for a 150ml bottle, which I think is a really reasonable price. **Packaging** It comes in a standard shape squeezy bottle with the dispenser at the bottom so it is always easy to get out. It has a clip lid which can't be lost, although you have to be careful not to snap the lid off! The bottle is a bright blue colour and partially see-through so you can see how much is left in the bottle. Overall the packaging looks fresh and is a bit more colourful than the standard Simple packaging which made a nice change. **My Experience** Despite the bottle being blue the face scrub itself is a clear gel and I could immediately see it is full of tiny exfoliating beads. This surprised me as I hadn't read the bottle that carefully so didn't realise it was an exfoliating face wash. Initially this concerned me as I only like to use actual exfoliater a few times a week but I had intended this as my daily face wash. I needn't have worried though because I soon realised the exfoliating beads are very subtle and therefore this wouldn't substitute an actual exfoliater and can easily be used on a daily basis. The gel is thick and only a small blob is required to create a nice foam on your face. Personally I prefer face washes that foam up as you can see where you have washed and you really feel like you are getting a deep clean. It has a very subtle but fresh smell which reminds me slightly of cucumber, but was probably more likely to be a witch-hazel smell as the face wash contains this. I was really worried that the exfoliating element of this face wash would leave my skin feeling dry or irritated, but luckily it was fine and has actually converted me to using exfoliating face washes - I can't imagine using a normal one again now! It is fairly easy to wash off, although you do have to be careful that you really wash it off well as the exfoliating beads can easily be left on the skin. After rinsing my skin felt cleaner and fresher than ever - I felt this was partially due to the exfoliating beads which delivered a really deep clean. In terms of long term changes my skin felt much smoother after just a week of using this on a daily basis and even better I noticed my skin looked much clearer. I've now been using this facial wash for a few months and am so impressed with the results, I used to always have a few spots on my face but now I have hardly any and I'm almost certain that is a result of this face wash. However unfortunately it just didn't deliver in terms of reducing oil on the skin. I haven't noticed any improvement on the oiliness of my skin since using it. However I have continued to use the face wash because it is so good on every other level. I'm also impressed with how long the bottle lasts, especially when it is such a cheap price in the first place. I use this twice a day and a bottle generally lasts me a month so that's 60 uses! **Overall Opinion** I've had to give this 4 stars because although I'm really pleased with it, it didn't actually live up to its main claim which is that it reduces oil production on the skin. However it does deliver on every other level, it leaves skin really clean, fresh and smooth, plus it clears blemishes and doesn't irritate.
I have always struggled with my skin since school and have tried every product on the market, clean and clear, nutrogena, freederm the list goes on and never found they have made any difference and some even made my skin worse. I went to the doctor after having my second son and have now been placed on yasim (used for a week so far) which is probably having some affect on my skin but for about a month now I have been using the simple range, one being the clear skin oil balancing exfoliator. It comes in a blue bottle and the product is clear with tiny beads in which are rough when rubbed together in your hand. There is no real smell as the simple products are perfume free and alcohol free and Im sure it is this that has cleared my skin up. This product is also oil balancing and I have very oily shiny skin I use this product in the morning to set my skin up for the day and it works brilliantly my skin stays matt throughout the day. The exfoliator is very effective but kind to the kind you can feel it working on your skin and it doesnt leave your skin blotchy and red like some others I have used. I have been using the other simple products alongside this product and they have all worked together wonderfully Products I have used : simple clear skin oil balancing exfoliator simple kind to skin foaming cleanser simple kind to skin toner simple kind to skin moisturiser I will be reviewing these products to so please check them out This product is well recommended and will be being used for a long time to come product does what it says and is good value for the money
Simple in a brand that Ihave recently started to use, I was impressed with their facial wash and when after a facial (I have only ever had two facials, the last one was 6months ago), I was recommended to use an exfoliater once a week I decided to give Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash a try.I was particularly looking for a product without perfume or colouring, a bit boring I know but sometimes less is more! I also did not want to spend a fortune incase I did not like it and Simple was more reasoably priced than many and because I have the classic combination skin of oily on the chin and nose and a bit dry on the rest the oil balancing aspect particularly appealed to me. Simple to Spot. The tube is a lovely turquoise colour which deepens towards the base and is topped by a flip off top in a lighter toning turquoise. On the front it states the name and that is contains Witch Hazel goodness giving us healthy clear skin and a natural anti bacterial . I remember Witch hazel from my school days when it was used in the playground first aid kit for bumps and bruises. It also tells us that besides Witch Hazel it contains Natural Zinc which gently absorbs excess oil and the vitamin Pro Vit B which actively restores softens and smooths. So lots of good things to help control oil and shine and No perfumes or colours! Simple to Use On the reverse of the tube are the simple instructions. So off I go! Splash your face with water and then squeeze a little of the clear gel which has little white bits floating in it, into your palm. You only need a little pea sized drop. Rub your hands together and then gently massage the gel onto your face. It will turn into a light foam , a bit like a milk moustache!. You can feel the little white grains in the gel but they are not at all scratcy. I generally massage for a couple of minutes and then rinse off with lots of water and then pat dry, if I do not rinse it off well it tends to make my skin feel a bit tight. My opinion. It certainly leaves my face feeling very clean and fresh but I do not think that there are enough little grains in it, it is a bit like search for the grain to rub into your skin. To be fair though, this is the first exfoliating wash that I have tried so I will continue my research by trying a few more! I have noticed that they do a facial scrub as well so I may try that. It also does not say on the tube how often you should use it which would be a useful addition. At the moment I have used it once a week for the last couple of months and I have seen an improvement in my skin particularly in the oily areas with fewer spots which has to be good! 4 stars from me as it does leave my skin very clean but I would like a few more exfoliating bits please. For more info go to www.simple.co.uk 24 month life once open and the tube is recyclable. Available widely in supermarkets and chemists at around a reasonable 3.99 pounds. Thanks for reading my review which may also be posted on Ciao under splishsplash
I have to wash my face twice a day. I have combination skin, so annoyingly sometimes oily and sometimes dry. This is frustrating because it is difficult to target one symptom as you don't want to mess up the other one at the same time also. I love to use Clarins and Clinique face washes, but I cannot always afford them so I am constantly on the hunt for a high street brand which does a good job. The simple balancing face wash was on sale in my local Tesco as buy one get one free. Its standard price was £4. The face wash is a gel type material it is light blue in colour. You only need a small amount to clean your face, and it is difficult to squeeze only a small amount out, so the first few times you use this you waste a bit of material. It just takes a bit of practise to learn how much you need. I use this face wash on my chin, my nose, my cheeks and occasionally my forehead. If I used it too often on my forehead I would end up with dry skin. I then rub it in and wash it off with warm water and the flannel. I use the flannel to give an exfoliating effect by rubbing it a bit harder into my skin. I did find if I didn't use quite enough water and rinses I would be left with a bit of the gel on my face afterwards. After use my skin did not get too dry which is a great bonus. Straight after use my skin would feel oil free, however this did not seem to carry on until my next wash later in the day. It lasts a few hours, but unfortunately not quite long enough. This is a good face wash so it still gets four out of five, but to earn the fifth star it would have a longer de-greasing period!!
As I have quite spotty, oily skin I have been searching for such a long time for the perfect face wash/ exfoliating wash and this seems to do the trick. During the day my make up used to fall off my face due to excess oil but since using this wash both evening and morning I have noticed a considerable difference. It is an excellent facial wash and isnt too harsh on your skin - I have fairly sensitive skin. The micro beads in the wash are so delicate yet effective. I had only been using it a couple of days before I noticed the results. You only have to use a small amount to get the great results I did! I really would reccommend this product to those with oily/spot prone skin like myself as I think it has changed my life. I have more confidence now that my make up stays on my face for the full day!
After falling head over heels in love with the Clear Skin Oil Balancing Moisturiser by Simple, I became curious about the other products in the range. I still stand by one of my previous reviews where I said that this moisturiser is one of the best that I've tried on my oily skin, including some of the highly priced products. So I popped to Boots to find out if I would be as impressed with some of the other items in the Clear Skin range. The product that I chose was the Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash which promised to perform a deep and refreshing cleansing action while gently exfoliating the skin. When you suffer with oily skin, you will invariably have enlarged pores. These pores become clogged with dead skin cells, oils and impurities which then leads to spots and blackheads. This product claims to rid the skin of the oils and dead skin cells, while clearing out the pores meaning that with continued use, your skin will be blemish and shine free. Who can use it? The product is designed to be used on people who suffer with oily skin and all the horrible baggage that comes with it. The face wash contains no artificial fragrances or colouring and, in keeping with the Simple mantra, the company claims that it contains no unnecessary ingredients whatsoever. It is completely free from soap and it has been dermatologically tested so it will suit even sensitive skin. The product contains no ingredients that are derived from animals so vegetarians can use it too. How does it work? The product contains Zinc which helps to absorb the excess oils from your skin and holds onto it, ready to be washed away. It works its magic on any blemishes that you may already have because it is an anti inflammatory so it will calm any angry spots. The substance draws impurities from the skin and allows the healing process to speed up. On occasions, it can be a Zinc deficiency that leads to acne in the first place so using products such as this, as well as eating plenty of foods rich in Zinc such as nuts, seeds, dark chocolate or even oysters, you should see great results. Also included is Witch Hazel which has a toning effect on the skin, meaning that the pores become tighter. This in turns means that less oil will be produced and fewer blackheads will form. The substance makes the skin smoother, and reduces redness so you should get a more even skin tone. As the substance is an antioxidant, it will fight against the free radicals in the skin which will prevent your precious skin from aging before its time. It strengthens the skin, helps it to retain moisture and calms down your puffy morning face. Panthenol is present, otherwise know as Vitamin B5 and this is a substance that is often used to treat acne. It acts as an astringent, tightening the pores and therefore enabling the skin to better regulate the production of oil. It softens and smoothes the skin and helps to restore it back to its former health. The plant extract works itself into the face and gives it a good level of moisture while plumping up the skin. Vitamin E is also included which is essential for maintaining healthy skin. It is an antioxidant so it will prevent premature aging and it helps other vitamins and moisture to be absorbed by the skin. The Vitamin helps to regulate the skin's production of oil, reduces blemishes and strengthens the skin. How do you use it? After dampening my face, I squeeze a small amount into my wet hands and rub my hands together until I have a foamy lather. Then I massage the product all over my face with my eyes and mouth closed for a few minutes and then rinse off the product thoroughly with cold water. Packaging and Price The product comes in a bright, cloudy blue plastic tube which is able to stand on its lid so it will look tidy in your bathroom. In order to access the product, you click open the flip top lid so there'll be no fighting with a screw top lid when your hands are damp. The product will cost you around £4 for 150ml which even when used daily should be fairly long lasting. I bought mine from Boots and the Simple range regularly falls under the 2 for 3 offer. It is also available from many department stores, large supermarkets and a variety of online websites so make sure that you shop around in order to get a good deal. My thoughts This product is a refreshing and clear gel that is packed full of tiny exfoliating blue beads. The beads are very gentle on the skin to the point where they don't produce a completely polished effect but I prefer that to beads that leave your skin feeling raw. The product feels lovely on the skin and has a slightly tingly feeling to it that awakens me properly in the mornings. If you're looking for a product that will remove blackheads, then I would say that this is too gentle for that purpose and I haven't seen any improvement in that area. After use, my face does feel a little bit tight but in a good way and as soon as you apply a good moisturiser, the feeling goes away. It does reduce the greasy shine on my skin, especially when used in conjunction with the Clear Skin Moisturiser. With the two products used together, my skin is so much clearer to the point where blemishes are becoming a rarity rather than a given. Because my skin is less oily, it feels fresh and clean for much longer and I don't get the urge to wash my face every five minutes which in fact can exacerbate the problem. As with the moisturiser, it can be a little drying in places where you would normally get dry skin which in my case is my nose and forehead but I use a slightly heavier face cream there afterward. Gosh, my face is complicated. Just a little word of warning, I have sensitive and spot prone skin and when looking at the ingredients, despite the claim of simplicity, there are a few substances there that are known irritants. It has been completely fine on my skin however. All in all, this is a lovely product that cuts down on excess oils and reduces shine. It definitely helps to clear the skin and leaves it looking healthier. The exfoliating action may not be strong enough for some people but for those who have sensitive skin, it'll be just right. Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyethylene, Sodium Chloride, Zinc PCA, Panthenol, Sodium Hydroxide, Hamamelis Virginiana Distillate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Methylparaben, Benzophenone-4, Dipropylene Glycol, Phytosphingosine, Pantolactone, Anthemis Nobilis Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil.
I have to be careful when buying face washes. Not only is my skin quite oily but it is also on the sensitive side and therefore, although I like to try new products, many have to be ruled out straight away. I like to have two face washes on the go, a bit like shampoos, and I always have a tube of St Ives exfoliating wash alongside something else. As my other face wash was coming to an end, I was keeping an eye out for an new facewashes that would include an exfoliater, and it was when browsing on amazon that I noticed this Simple Clear SKin oil balancing Exfoliating Wash, for the price of just over £3, which was pretty reasonable for such a well known brand. I had previously never seen this product in my local supermarket or Boots store, so I was keen to give it a go, since not only did it have that exfoliating factor I was looking for, but also an oil balancing action. The product itslef is a aqua greeny colour and contains 150ml. On the front of the product it states that this wash includes 'witch hazel goodness - for healthy clear skin' It also adds that it controls shine and reminds users taht this product is ideal for those with sensitive skin since it contains no perfume and no colours. It also claims to contains 'skin loving nutrients' and 'vital vitamins'. On the back of the tube, there are more details about the 'goodness' in this face wash. The skin loving nutrients mentioned on the front of the tube include witch hazel which will supposedly help 'reduce blemishes' as well as a natural zinc PCA which will 'absorb oil'. The vital vitamins mentioned are pro vitamin B5, included in the product to 'restore, soften and smoothe' skin. Finally it states that this product is dermatologically tested and therefore will not upset your skin. Like most face washes, the product is in no way difficult to use, and in fact you don't even need to read the instructions. Make sure your face is damp before massaging the product into your skin, before thoroughly washing the product off. When you apply the product, you can seen the tiny exfoliating beads and the product is easy to lather up so you really feel that you are washing your face well. THere is no smell to this product, obviously because of the lack of perfume, which suits me perfectly. I have been using this product for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say, that firstly (as expected) I have had no reaction to the face wash at all. Secondly, after rinsing off the product I feel that my skins feels very clean and soft, and despite the continued cold winter weather, I don't think my skin has been as dry, as my last face wash left it, after washing. I, thankfully, am not as prone to break outs as I was when I was younger, but I still need to ensure that I wash my face twice a day, otherwise my oily skin will easily break out. I have some blackheads around my nose and I find that few face washes deal with those problem areas, and this product is no exception, however, since using this wash, my skin has been perfectly clear, and despite not getting rid of the blackheads, it prevents any spots from forming on my face. In terms of oiliness, I cannot say that I have noticed any great difference in that, although the fact that I have had no break outs will probably prove its worth. All in all I would happily buy this product again. I don't have to worry about any reaction to my skin. I like the tiny beads exfoliating my face, leaving it feeling clean and clear, without drying it out, which many exfoliating washes can do over time. It fact it leaves my skin feeling very soft afterwards. A great item from the Simple range. Just a pity I can only get it on amazon!
