I am a big fan of Palmers Cocoa Butter and so when I spotted a tub of this Palmers Olive Oil Formula with Vitamin E recently, I was keen to take it home and see whether it was as good if not better than the original formula. ------The Packaging------ This body moisturiser comes packaged in an upright plastic tub which has a curvy silhouette and is the same size and shape of the cocoa butter lotion. This product differs however in the colour of the packaging which is a lime green in colour with the standard Palmers logo illustrated in oranges text against an illustration of olives. The colour of this bottle is great if you like green however it does have a tendency to stand out against the other lotions and potions in my bathroom. The lid simply clicks back to allow the user to squeeze the sides of the tub and pour the required amount of moisturiser out. The colour of the moisturising cream is the same as the bottle being a light limey green, however this colour does absorb into the skin leaving a slightly white residue if too much product is applied. It is the smell of this product that makes it such a treat being highly citrus and olive in fragrance. This smell is completely unlike smelling a pot of edible olives but nevertheless fits into the smell of other olive based products by other manufacturers. It is the fragrance of this which in my opinion transports you to the Mediterranean. ------Product Claims------ This product contains both extracts of olive oil and Vitamin E, it is therefore unsurprising that it claims to have anti-aging properties. The Vitamin E claims to boost the smoothness and softness of the skin whilst the olive oil claims to keep skin youthful with visible results. ------Price and Availability------ Upon buying myself a bottle of this product I paid £2.99 for 250ml from my local Wilkinsons. I have been unable to find this moisturiser in my local Boots, however understand that it can also be bought online from retailer Amazon. ------Results------ I musts admit that I have only used this cream on my face and around my décolletage area. As I am only in my twenties I have yet to develop any serious wrinkles, however must admit to having some fine lines around my eyes and chest area. Upon applying this moisturiser, my skin felt instantly drenched with moisture and the fragrance left a lovely scent on the skin. After a couple of minutes the cream was instantly absorbed leaving my skin dry to the touch and not oily, but yet still feeling moisturised. Therefore I would agree that my skin felt softer and smoother after one application. However, when it comes to anti-aging claims I am slightly more cynical. Although hydrated I did not experienced any plumping of the skin which one might get from more expensive anti-aging moisturisers and therefore cannot testify to seeing my skin 'visibly improved'. ------Summary------ To surmise, would I recommend this product? I would have to answer yes as it was a soft scented moisturiser which left my skin feeling soft, therefore it did the job at a very reasonable price. However, in my opinion this moisturiser would probably suit the warmer summer weather as it is not quite rich enough to combat my dry winter skin. I would therefore score this product 4 stars out of 5, for being great value for money and a fairly good moisturiser. Thanks for taking the time to read my review!
