“ Brand: Molton Brown / Type: Facial Wash / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Refreshes, „
This face wash does exactly what it says on the bottle. It is very refreshing and gentle on the skin.
I have suffered from bad skin for about 10 years. I have tried so many products all of which claim to help oily skin and reduce spots. I haven't found anything that works without leaving my skin stinking of chemicals. I love Molton Brown products and decided to try this facewash a few months ago. I was very disciplined when I first bought it using it every morning and evening. I can honestly tell you my skin looked 10 times better after just two weeks. I have got so fed up in the past with shop assistants convincing me to buy products that will 'work miracles on my skin' and then seeing no results. But I promise you this works!
The packaging is really nice. It comes in a clear bottle with purple and green writing. It has a pump at the top and I usually use one pump in the morning and two at night to help remove make up. It is not perfumed, only smelling of the ingredients. It feels completely natural against the skin and leaves my face looking smooth and feeling soft.
I would advise for the ladies to remove any eye make or heavy make up first as the face wash is very gentle and isn't made for removing make up.
I also find I don't always need to use moisturiser as the face wash hydrates your skin and never dries it out.
I promise this is a great product! I absolutely love it and will continue to buy it as long as they make it!
I am a splash off type of gal, what are you? Well if you are love the feel of water on your skin then this is the product for you! There are facial cleansers and facial washes and there is soap. Please never, never, never use soap on your face. It doesn't matter if it says 'kind to skin' on it or not the truth is soap dries out your skin and dry skin = early wrinkles (sorry to be so harsh). Now if you are a big make up wearer then this product will not be much use to take off your heavy make up, however, if you need a wash to use in the morning to wake you up or on the days when you are wearing a light make up, then this will be a great product for you. ~~~Packaging~~~ This wash comes in a clear, plastic container. On the front is the name of the product, the brand name and the amount of product in the bottle. On the back is a brief description of how to use it (for all those who have forgotten how to wash your face ;-0 ) an ingredients listing and a picture of a lotus flower, which is Molton Brown's logo. As the bottle is very plain it is very unisex. Most bottles come with a pump dispenser which is excellent for keeping the product fresh (Molton Brown use hardly any preservatives) and also makes it much more economical to use. The main bottle size that you can buy off of the shelf in your store is 200ml. You can get 100ml travel size bottles in some sets and if you buy this product from QVC you will be able to buy a 300ml bottle. If you ask the lady on the counter at your local Molton Brown stockist very nicely she may have some 30ml trial size bottles she can let you have. This is really good if you haven't used this before as 30ml will last a couple of weeks so you really get a feel for the product and if it is right for you. ~~~The star of the show - the product~~~ The product itself is a beige sort of colour, nearly translucent......mmmm the colour is a bit tricky
to describe as it isn't really a colour if you see what I mean lol. It is a gel so it feels really lovely on the skin. The smell is of pineapple with a touch of lime, it is lovely and fresh to use in the summer when you are hot and sticky. Molton Brown say that this product will not irritate sensitive skin as they use low level preservatives. I do suffer with sensitive skin so I can vouch for this. ~~~Usage~~~ I use about 2 pumps to clean my skin, if you are wearing a light make up then I would suggest 3 pumps. Dampen face, rub product between your hands, apply to face, mmmmmmm take in the beautiful smells, ooooooo enjoy the silkiness of the product on face, rinse! As simple as that. Your face will feel clean, fresh, moist (in a nice way), and not at all tight. Molton Brown would suggest using there toner after then there moisturiser, personally I don't think that you need the toner as the water will do a similar job. ~~~ingredients~~~ Purified water, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, sodium lauryl sulphate, hexylene glycol, panthenol, carbomer, extract of pineapple, extract of lime, triethanolamine, propylene, glycol, methylapraben, propylparaben, tetrasodium EDTA. ~~~Where to buy~~~ There are Molton Brown concessions in many House of Fraser, Jollys, Dingles and Allders. Also there are 4 Molton Brown Emporiums in and around London. You can also purchase from the shopping channel QVC by calling 0800504030 or going online to www.qvcuk.com. Molton Brown also have a website where you can order products this is www.moltonbrown.com On this web site there is a full listing of all the stores that stock Molton brown in Great Britain and USA. ~~~Prices~~~ 200ml bottle from Molton Brown web site is £16.00 300ml bottle from QVC is £19.00 From my experience this is a great product for all members of the family. It may b
e a little expensive but as it has the pump dispenser it is very economical to use, 300ml lasts me and my husband about 3months. The best thing of all is that it doesen't cause premature ageing as it is so gentle. If you still aren't sure go to your Molton Brown stockist and ask for a trial size.....you will be hooked! Ali
As a great traveller of facial washes in all shapes, forms and sizes, I think my journey is finally over. Perfection is maybe a little strong but Molton Brown's Refreshing Facial Wash is certainly the closest I have found to it! The product comes as an almost clear gel in a handy pump-top dispenser. As an added bonus the dispenser comes with an attachment which prevents the pump from squeezing, therefore making it ideal for travelling. Also, and quite unusually in my experience, the pump dispenses just the right amount of the product. The gel itself has a very light pineapple fragrance, lathers easily and leaves your skin feeling extremely 'pure' for want of a better word. It's cleansing properties are second to none and it leaves your skin very refreshed but not dry or taut. The only down side of this product that I can think of is the price and availability. At £16 for 200ml you could say this product is quite expensive. Having said that, with celebrity customers such as Nicole Kidman they can afford to bump the prices up a little! I was lucky enough to recieve mine as a Christmas gift, which also meant I didn't have to go out and try to find it in the stores. As far as I am aware it is a fairly elusive range althoug you can but online at www.moltonbrown.co.uk, although you will incur a £3.95 P&P charge unless you spend over £75... Overall a wonderful treat that does do the job very well... maybe best to wait for next years Christmas list though!
Splash it all over baby! Well, splash it all over your face, anyway. This is an excellent foaming gel that really does wonders to leave your face feeling squeaky clean and glowing with health. It's very gentle, too, so is ideal for those who tend to have sensitive skin. The gel contains extracts of pineapple and lime, well known for their cleansing and toning properties - it seems just about every beauty product has some kind of fruit extract in these days. It doesn't actually smell of any of the ingredients, which I think is a bonus, as facial washes that reek of some highly perfumed additive always put me off using them - it usually means they will be quite harsh or I'll come out in some nasty rash. Not what you want from a facial wash! Absolutely no residue is left on your skin from using this gel, so those with very dry or mature skins should probably look elsewhere, or make sure they follow up with a moisturiser. My only complaint is that it did leave my skin a teeny tiny bit taut feeling, but I really do mean only a tiny bit, and as soon as I used my toner the feeling was gone. This is great for every day use, it's also good at getting rid of makeup. I probably wouldn't risk using it on my eyes to clean off mascara, but it almost feels gentle enough to do so. Thumbs up for Molton Brown!
This is just the thing to wake you up in the morning as it indeed is very refreshing. It contains natural fruit extracts (lime and pineapple) which gives it a very distinctive fruity fragrance which isn’t too overpowering and is perfect for men or women. The gel formula makes it a very light wash which doesn’t leave your skin feeling dried out or "tight" which is something that I have found with other facial washes. I usually just use this in the morning to clean and refresh my skin before applying make-up but I sometimes use it at night as well to remove make-up when I can’t be bothered using cleanser. As it is a light gel, it is not going to take off a heavy foundation but is pretty good at taking off a light make-up or tinted moisturiser. It is safe enough to use around the eyes to take off eye make-up but don’t expect it to remove stubborn or waterproof mascara. Molton Brown have packaged the wash in an stylish, easy to use plastic pump bottle and one pump is more than enough to cleanse the whole face. The gel can also be used by guys for shaving although I would imagine that you would need quite a lot of it to get a decent enough lather. For someone who is can’t be bothered with cleansers or for those who don’t feel your skin is clean unless you have used water, then Refreshing Facial Wash might be a worthwhile purchase. Oh yeah, it can also be used as an emergency shower gel by the rest of your family unless you hide it under the sink. Took me a while to figure out why it was only lasting a few months...
