Jurlique age defying refining treatment
I was looking round for a natural skin polisher and found this whilst browsing the internet. Since it seemed to have mostly positive reviews I decided to give it a go.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
This product will apparently gently polish off dead skin cells and impurities for a smoother appearance.ie will also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as minimising the appearance of pores and improving skin's texture.
HOW DOES IT DO THIS?
The product does make some big promises so it must contain ingredients which will allow it to deliver. After reading up on the skin polisher I found that it contains Apricot Seed Powder, which naturally polishes skin gently, without irritation as well as Willow Bark Extract, to help enhance cell turnover by gently exfoliating the skin. It also contains Natural Bisabolol and Calendula which soothe, soften and hydrate the skin.
I don't know anything about these ingredients so have to take it on trust that they will at least go some way to do as they promise.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The product comes packaged inside a box with a rather pretty tree on the front and information and instructions on the back and sides of the box. Inside the box I find the plastic squeezy tube containing 40ml of the skin polisher. Its got a screw off/on lid and when I open the lid a piece of thick foil over the top of the hole which shows it hasn't been used; this is easily pierced by pressing the top of the lid on to the foil.
Once opened, the product is easy to dispense by giving the tube a gentle squeeze. When I squeeze some out, it's a creamy white colour with a faint but for me indistinquishable but not unpleasant smell. It is a nice texture being not too thick and again not too runny but rather a consistency which feels as though it will rub easily into my skin. It also contains some very very small pale blue particles; there are lots of them but even when I just rub it into my hand I can feel its not going to be abrasive.
To use it, I am advised to apply a pearl sized amount to my wet hands and gently massage onto damp cleansed skin, avoiding the eye area. After this is done, I rinse with warm water, ensuring that all of the product is removed.. Because it is a gentle product, it can be used weekly or as often as desired. I tend to use it once a week and find that it is really easy to apply to my skin and because the particles are so small, it doesn't feel abrasive but rather feels as though it is really gently getting rid of those nasty dead skin cells.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
The RRP is around the £25 mark but it can be found cheaper if the internet is scoured. I haven't yet seen any really dramatic special offers on this make, and p and p costs have to be taken into account. It is a pricey product for such a small amount but because such a small amount of the product is required, it so far has lasted me about 5 months and I still have plenty left.
I have found that this product really does deliver on its promises. It is gentle on my skin and after use my skin tone looks more even and my skin feels really soft and clean. I actually like the feeling of the small particles as they are massaged into my skin and find that after using my moisturiser seems to be more effective.
It is an expensive initial outlay but lasts for ages so monthly costs are quite small.
I will certainly be investing in this again and will be trying ou some of the other products.
