~Anti blemish skin care from Guerlain~
Guerlain Issima Camphrea Cream is something that I tried after having been advised it may of benefit in dealing with skin breakouts and minor blemishes. The product formula is one that contains a number of ingredients that are meant to be there so as to help correct some forms of skin imperfections, however after having used this product I feel that the results given were not as outstanding as I hoped they would be. In use I also found that the texture of the cream was thicker than I first thought it might be, which sometimes meant it took a little longer for this skin care cream to be ready for me to apply makeup over the top.
The colour of the cream being a salmon pink shade was something of a surprise to me when I first used this product. I wasn't expecting this to be salmon coloured and thought it would be a lighter colour so that it offered more of a clear effect once on the skin. I found that once on the skin the salmon colour of the cream was still evident, even when applied fairly sparingly, although it could be masked by a good foundation product (if applied with care). When I used this after having washed and toned my skin it didn't sting at all, which I was pleased about.
The aroma given off by this skin care product does have a slightly medicated edge to it in my opinion, which I wasn't expecting, although having looked at the variety of ingredients used I can see where this comes from. There is mineral oil, zinc oxide, castor oil and allantoin in this product as well as beeswax, salicylic acid and iron oxides, which I feel give off this medicated scent which isn't overly strong yet isn't all that appealing either. As this product is formulated to be able to help dry up spots and blemishes I thought it would be quite effective, although in reality it sounded far better than it actually was as it very often didn't work to reduce blemishes by very much at all.
The container that the product comes packed in is not one that has a true luxury feel in my opinion, (which is what I would normally expect from a high end brand such as this one). I would say that the container is functional enough in use as it held the contents safely within, sealing the product away after use so that it remained fresh and fit for purpose for a good length of time. The cost of this product is at the higher end of the scale in my opinion, with recent prices being between £24 to £30 for a small sized 15ml tube, which can be bought from a wide number of online suppliers.
After having used the product I feel the price is overly high, as the results I experienced were nothing special when compared to those of other similar yet cheaper anti blemish products. I have found a number of Guerlain products to be quite good, however this one is not one of my favorites as it doesn't deliver what it promises and I feel that I would have liked more definite results from this product. My rating for this is 3 stars which I feel is about right based on the mediocre results and overly high purchase price. I would have been far happier with this product if it had produced better results.
