When my legs emerged from the black opaques several weeks ago it was clear they needed some attention. Usually I use a cocoa butter lotion because I love the smell but bought this on the spur of the moment as it was on offer. What a find! A beautifully textured lotion that is not too greasy and really absorbs well. The fragrance is pleasant and and quite subtle so won't over power your perfume. But the bottom line is does it do a good job of moisturizing dry skin? Yes it does! Instantly the dry skin on my shins disappeared and my skin felt soft and moisturized. The effect is long lasting but can't vouch for 7 days because I have been using almost daily. I like the packaging too as the bottle is easy to handle making it quick and easy to use. The colour of he bottle is quite bright and may not to be everyone's taste or decor. My only concern is that I won't be able to squeeze every last drop of the product out of the bottle so will probably resort to a trick my mum taught me, cut it open with a pair of scissors and waste nothing!
I have always struggled to find a body lotion suitable for my skin, as I suffer from Keratosis Pilaris (red pimply skin caused by keratin blocking your pores) especially on my upper arms and lower legs. I actually do get quite dry skin - but I have found most creams aimed at dry skin far too greasy and exacerbate the Keratosis Pilaris, and light lotions aren't moisturising enough.
The Garnier Intensive 7 days range of body lotions have been a revelation. There is a quite in the range for different skin types, each with a different formulation and base - eg. cocoa butter, shea butter, aloe vera, grape extract, peach extract, honey, mango oil etc.
I use two from the range - the Aloe Vera lotion for normal skin, and the gel-cream with Grape for normal to dry skin. The Grape is the one I use most regularly as I simply love the texture of the gel-cream as it's really refreshing, and it seems to work perfectly with my skin type. The Aloe Vera lotion I use on days where I don't feel I need something so intensive.
The Garnier gel-cream with Grape is a non-greasy, lightweight lotion that absorbs really quickly and is cooling on the skin. It reminds me of an after-sun lotion, and would work well used as one I am sure.
According to Garnier - the Intensive 7 days Refreshing Gel-Cream is enriched with L-Bifidus and naturally derived Grape Extract, which they have selected for the needs of normal to dry skin. The texture is light and it absorbs instantly. It's main features are -
* Lightweight formula
* instant absorption
I would agree with everything it claims to be and do. It's definitely light and quickly absorbed - I can use this just before getting into bed at night, without worrying about spoiling my bedding. It's also not at all greasy or sticky, and I don't ever feel the need to wash my hands after using it.
It is also dermatalogically tested and suitable for sensitive skin.
Since using Garnier Intensive 7 days range, I have noticed a massive improvement in the appearance of my upper arms especially - a part of my body I used to be very self conscious about and previously kept covered up. Not only have the pimples dramatically reduced, but the texture of my skin has improved and doesn't look as blotchy as before. I use this twice daily and haven't yet tried to go 7 days without to see if the moisture level of my skin remains, but I certainly haven't felt any dryness throughout the day or by the evening like I have with other products. I used to find moisturising a real chore, but this range - especially the gel-cream - have made it a much more enjoyable part of my routine.
Garnier Intensive 7 days lotions come in 250ml and 400ml bottles, and around £3 or £5 depending on the bottle size. Boots and Superdrug often have offers on which reduce the price by around £1.
=Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Moisturising Lotion=
I first received a pack of 7 sachets of the cream, which came at the perfect time as I was going away for a long weekend, and it saved me packing a bottle of moistening lotion,
I was impressed with the samples that I received and went onto purchase a bottle, the bottle is 400ml of liquid, and is a dark green colour bottle, and I paid around £3.50 for this.
The bottle has a flip top lid, which is easy to open and closes firmly, on the bottle there is the information of the list of ingredients, the contact details for the company and how to use the product.
=Normal to dry Skin=
The lotion that I received was for normal to dry skin, and that is what I also purchases.
Garnier claims that is you use the cream daily for 28 days, your skin will remain hydrated for another 7 days. Although I haven't put the 7 day break to test.
Although this is called a lotion, I found it easy to apply to the skin, and it absorbs literally immediately and a little does go a long way with this cream.
With this lotion I can get dressed almost straight away, and there is no real strong smell from the lotion, it has a mild freshness to the small, but this is not over powering.
My skin certainly felt hydrated after using this lotion, I have been using it like clockwork since returning from abroad, as whilst away I was plastered in after sun lotion, but at home, I find that this lotion is really hydrating, and not just helping keeping my tan, but helping with some dry patches that have peeled
Although at first the lotion does appear to be thick, once applied to the skin it is as though it melts and goes further than you first think.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this product, as it is good value for money, hydrating, and a little goes a long way.
This is widely available from most retailers.
I received a sample pack of 7 sachets of this product to use for 7 days which I think was quite a good giveaway, I was pleased with the results so ended up buying myself a bottle, the bottle holds 400mls of product and it costs me £3.45 which is a decent price as I already knew the product was good.
The product comes packaged in a green bottle a sort of dark mint shade, it states on the bottle all the different claims about how it will help your skin, you also get the list of ingredients and the contact details for the company. The bottle has a flip top lid on it which makes it easy to reshut the bottle once you have got the product out.
The product is meant for people with normal to dry skin which is me, most my face is normal however I get dry bits on my cheeks every now and again. Garnier claim that is you use this product continuously for a full 4 weeks then your skin will remain hydrated for a full 7 days afterwards although I can't understand why you would religiously use something for 28 days and then not bother for 7 days.
The product is not quite a cream but not quite a gel, the product has to be applied to clean skin and it is suitable for use all over your body, the product is well absorbed into the skin and I feel able to dress a minute or so after use. The product smells really fresh and clean but isn't overly strong in aroma, the product is pretty thick so it doesn't end up everywhere or rushing out of the bottle which I like. You really don't need much of the product at all which seems quite strange as with it being quite thick you don't expect it to go far but it seems to get thinner as it meets your skin.
I really liked this product and it even helped the dry patches of skin I have on my legs, my skin feels really nourished and most certainly hydrated although I still wouldn't stop using it for 7 days to test the theory. My skin feels smooth and I feel it looks brightened too, I would give this 5 stars as it is a really lovely product and my skin feels great from using it.
I have many different moisturising creams and lotions in my collection and one that I really like is Garnier body intensive 7 days hydrating lotion with moisturising aloe vera. Not only does it leave my skin feeling really soft but it has a great lasting fresh scent that I love, especially perfect for the summer months.
The product comes in a green plastic bottle with a white plastic flip top lid. The Garnier brand logo is clearly visible on the front in black lettering and underneath it says 'Intensive 7 days hydrating lotion' It also tells you that it contains moisturising aloe vera which is accompanied with a picture of, yes some aloe vera. At the bottom of the bottle it states that it is suitable for normal skin. The back of the bottle tells you a bit about the product, lists the ingredients, the bottle size (250ml), shelf life (12 months) and has some contact information for the brand.
The product itself is a white lotion ( the product is also available in gel from but I have not tried that yet.) The consistency is normal for that of a lotion, not too thick nor runny and is easily absorbed into the skin. It smells so good, really fresh and once applied the scent seems to last for quite a while. To apply simple lift up the plastic flip top of the lid and gently squeeze into the palm of your hand and rub into the desired area of skin.

Price and availability.
It is available from most beauty stores, supermarkets and on line and usually retails at around £2.99 for 250ml or £4.99 for 400ml. Botts currently have it on special offer at £1.99 for 250ml and £3.33 for 400ml.
I really like this product, especially during the summer, it leaves my skin soft and feeling very refreshed.
What is this product?
Garnier body - Intensive 7 days Soothing gel-Cream. Whats gel-cream you ask? Somewhere between the two. Not as runny as a lotion. This peach coloured gel-cream is for intense hydration, especially brilliant in the cold as skin tends to dry out. This is the first product i have tried that has this "new gel-cream texture". I have to say that i prefer it to the standard creams and lotions, its much thicker and feels that much more moisture rich. This particular one is L-Bifidus and peach. According to the Garnier website L-Bifidus is a "...naturally-based extract selected to meet moisture needs of each skin type". sounds a bit like L. Casei Immunitas that we hear about in the Activia Yoghurts doesn't it? Well, its from the same family. It is a natural probiotic that acts like a barrier to lock the moisture in to our skin.
Peach. Pure and simple. It is not over [powering at all and leaves a very gentle scent on your skin after use that will linger for a few hours, depending on how much of your body you have applied it to. we know straight away this this will be a good product to use due to the rich "essential nutrients" that we find in peaches.
It does actually absorb in to the skin very quickly, especially if you use right after the shower. for me, my legs are the parts of me that get dry, constant shaving, towel drying after my morning shower, then after my shower from the gym at lunch time etc, so i tend to lose more natural moisture, this gel-cream rehydrates them instantly. some moisturisers can leave your skin feeling sticky and you have to make sure you air-dry before you get dressed. This product absorbs instantly. How can i tell? Because not moments after i have applied this to my legs i can easily pull up my tights without resistance! - you know what im talking about ladies. Lads, take my word for it :-). My skin feels soft and smooth after-use. It is also (apparently_ "formulated especially for sensitive skin"). I am a little over-cautious when it comes to these types of products so tend to buy everything for sensitive skin as i want to avoid a reaction. This gel-cream does not irritate, itch or leave a greasy residue, it glides on, absorbs very quickly and creates lovely soft skin.
From Boots, Superdrug, Pharmacies you will pay about £3 for a 250ml bottle. It will last you a long time. You can use this sparingly because a little goes a long way. Also, no matter how dry or irritates your skin is, you will not to reapply through the day.
How to use:
Smooth in to skin any time of the day, but for best results after bathing.
The gel-cream boasts intensive hydration and that your skin will feel softer after 7 days of use. It does too. Though on the back of the bottle it also says that, and i quote: "after 4 weeks of use, skin still feels intensely hydrated for up to 7 days after the last application
". However, not a paragraph about this it also says: "After only 7 days of use, a clinical test confirms that skin's quality is improved". So it seems that you have to use religiously for a month before you get lasting results. I have been using for a couple of weeks and it works well, but i am not sure i would be able to go 7 days without moisturising my legs at all. Perhaps in the summer but certanly not just now.
Over all this is a lovely buy, i especially like the texture and the rate of absorption, the gently scent and the fact that the bottle seems to last for so long.
I bought this item just because of it's good price at £1.99 from Savers. The consistency of the product feels quite strange, it's almost like a paste on your skin and takes a few attempts to rub in but it absorbs pretty quickly & doesn't leave residue so I was able to get dressed straight after using it. After using the product for a few days my skin definitely felt more supple & I found it particularly impressive that my skin still felt soft after showering. To achieve the full benefits of the item everyday use is essential, as it takes a few days for differences in skin softness to be noticed.
I think the packaging is very effective, the colour is attractive and the shape of the bottle makes it easier for applications and it's also easier to get all the product out the bottle without leaving small amounts at the bottom as the bottle is narrower than some other product bottles. The bottle also has an easy flip lid which is perfect for when you're in a rush and also allows you to be able to close the bottle without getting residue of the product down the side of the bottle or around the lid.
i managed to get some free samples of he garnier 7days moisture gel! and im so glad i tried it. not just he gorgeous diffrent sents that you can get but it is easy to apply and very quickly absorbed!! i use it on my legs more as i shave my legs and to stop them being irritated because of shaving i moisturise but garnier 7days gel is fantastic it absorbs almost within seconds. its such a nice texture rather than lotion!! its not sticky or greasy like some moisturisers can be. it doesnt stick to your clothes, there are different smells that it comes in, they produce one for sensitive skin. so its win-win all round and i think its extraudinerilly cheap!! i paid £1.99 for a large bottle i think thats great value as a little goes a long way. the scent is slightly faint so if you are looking for a very strong smelling moisture gel this probablly isnt for you,but in some cases this is a plus side as some skins get irritated by strongly frangranced things.
I love trying out new body lotions and one of my latest ones that I have purchased is the new Body Intensive 7 Days Refreshing Gel-Cream by Garnier. I had already tried one of the other moisturising lotions in the 7 day collection and liked it so when I saw this newest one, I decided it would be worth purchasing. The product has been specifically designed for those with normal to dry skin.
What does the product do?
The product is a cross between a cream and a gel. It makes the massive claim that it you use the product continuously for four weeks then your skin will stay hydrated for the following seven days, even if you don't use the product. It promises to hydrate the skin deeply and to lock in the moisture while nourishing the skin with vitamins and minerals. It says that it will make the skin softer and smoother, while also strengthening the top layer of skin.
There are a few different products available under the 7 day intensive heading as well as the one I am reviewing. For extra dry skin there is the Repairing Lotion with Shea Butter. If you have dry skin, you can choose between the conditioning lotion with Cocoa Butter and the Ultra-Softening Lotion with Mango Oil. For normal skin, there is the Hydrating Lotion with Aloe Vera and for sensitive skin, there is the Soothing Lotion with honey.
How does it work?
The product contains an anti evaporation complex which prevents the new moisture from being lost again. It also contains Grape Extract which strengthens and nourishes the skin while Glycerin helps to draw moisture into the skin. Shea Butter is included which is one of nature's greatest moisturisers and it both nourishes and hydrates the skin.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to clean skin and it can be used all over the bottle. You dispense some from the bottle and massage it into the skin. It be used as often as required and should be used continuously for a month in order to see the full effects.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a minty green plastic bottle and it has plenty of information about the product on both the front and the black. The bottle is shaped in a way which lets you get a good grip of it so that it won't slip if your hands are a bit greasy. The lid is white and it is a flip top so you can easily open and close it immediately after using the product.
The product comes in two different sizes. I have the 400ml bottle which cost me around £3.50 and the other available size is 250ml which costs around £2. The product is available from stores such as Boots and Superdrug, large supermarkets and a variety of online websites.
Aroma and Consistency
The product smells very refreshing and it is a bit like cucumbers. It doesn't smell artificially fragranced and it shouldn't really offend anyone or mix badly with your perfume. The consistency is really strange and just as promised, it really does seem to be a cross between a gel and a cream. It is white in colour and it looks like and has the consistency of a cream but when you rub it into the skin, it turns into a gel.
On the front of the bottle, the product promises to be instantly absorbed and it really is. It seems to melt into the skin in the same way as a gel would and you don't even really need to massage it in the skin because it disappears as it's smoothed on. It goes quite watery on the skin and you really don't need to use much in order to get the desired effects because a little goes a long way. It seems to have a cooling effect, although it doesn't say about this in the bottle and I think it would work really well as an after sun product. It doesn't irritate my skin or make me feel uncomfortable.
The lotion really does make my skin feel smooth and soft immediately. It makes an instant difference and it gives the skin a healthy sheen that leaves it looking in a better condition straight away. It doesn't make the skin greasy or make it feel unclean but if you apply too much, you may end up feeling a little bit sticky. The hydrated feeling stays with me all day and I don't feel the need to reapply the product before bedtime. It seems to deal with my dry skin and it stops the skin looking dull or flaky. It is has a very light texture that makes you feel like you have nothing on your skin. I haven't tested out the four week rule as I use other product as well.
All in all, this is a really lovely product which hydrates the skin deeply and gives long lasting moisture to the skin. It is absorbed super quickly and leaves the skin looking and feeling softer and healthier from the very first use. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again.
I try to use a body lotion or moisturiser every morning and night, so I get through quite a lot of it. I saw this new Garnier body moisturiser and decided to give it a try as I had been impressed with a Garnier gradual tanning moisturiser lotion that I had been using so I was happy to try more from Garnier.
The Intensive 7 Days range from Garnier includes lotions and gel creams. The product I bought was in the gel cream consistency, which is very light. I was attracted to that because I use some gel creams on my face (such as Clinique Moisture Surge) and I love how light and refreshing they are and how quickly they sink into the skin without any greasiness. I was pleased to find the Garnier gel cream also has these qualities.
This gel cream has a subtle fresh scent which has a hint of grape. I find the scent pleasant and not at all over powering. There are also other scents available in the gel cream consistency, including peach or aloe vera. The gel cream is very pale in colour, almost white. It feels very cooling when rubbed into the skin and absorbs easily and thoroughly without leaving any residue. This means you can get dressed immediately, so it is suited to busy mornings. The skin feels instantly hydrated but because the gel cream is so light, I don't think it would be moisturising enough for dry skin. It doesnt give as much moisture as you would get from a rich body butter, but for normal skin it is certainly enough for day to day use.
The packaging looks clean and attractive in a pale bluey green bottle with a simple design showing the Garnier logo and grape graphics to reflect the scent. It also states it contains L Bifidus, which I had not heard of but apparently is good for moisturising. The bottle curves in at the middle, making it easy to grab in your hand. It has a flip top and it is easy to dispense the cream.
The 250 ml bottle normally costs £2.99 but seems to be on offer at £1.99 in lots of shops at the moment, such as Boots, Superdrug, Savers and Bodycare. I think it is a good, budget price for this nice moisturiser which feels pleasant to use, moisturises normal skin effectively and keeps it soft.
I would definitely buy it again and I would also try some of the other scents.
