Clinique is a brand that I think of as quite high end, with some prices to match, but who provide great skin care products that so what they say on the tin. They use very understated packaging and keep things simple.
Appearance and Smell
This clarifying lotion comes in a twist top bottle with the trademark Clinique design, simple and minimalistic. It is part of the 3-step skin care regime but you can use it solely, as I do. It is a clear liquid when poured onto the cotton wool pad, and has quite a strong alcoholic smell to it.
I use 2 turns of the bottle to use on my face and neck, and this is enough to leave your skin feeling clean and clear. When wiping across your face it is clear to see just how well it cleanses your skin as it lifts a great amount of dirt and environmental residue from your face. I use a make-up remover to take off my make-up and then use this to cleanse my skin, although it has been stated that this is not a cleanser, I find it very good for that particular use. Once I have wiped the cotton wool pad over my skin it is left feeling clean, clear and refreshed. I have been using this product for around about a year now and it seems to have helped clear up my skin. It has left my skin with fewer spots and blackheads and I can only assume that is because it clears my skin so well before I go to bed.
I really like this product, but the smell can be a bit overpowering, especially if you get it too close to your eyes, it makes my eyes water a little. I have combination skin and this clears my skin well on the oily parts, but is gentle enough on the drier areas to give a good overall result. It can be quite expensive to use on a regular basis at £16 for a 200ml bottle but I ask for it as birthday or Christmas presents and this keeps me going throughout the year.
