“ Brand: Clinique / Type: Skin Care / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
This little set was a gift to me from friends in America. It was lovely for me to open on the plane home and make use of the contents. It consists of.....
One tub of Total Turnaround Visible Skin Renewer (1.7 oz/50 ml).
One tube of Advanced Stop Signs Eye Preventive Cream SPF 15 (.5 fl oz/15 ml).
One tube of 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula (3.4 fl oz/100 ml).
2 little tubes of Perfectly Real Makeup(.17 fl oz/5 ml).
It comes packaged in the usual recyclable cardboard box with product pictures displayed on it. Nothing spectacular but it is just a box! When I opened the box I was disappointed to see that there was no bag included to keep it all together when I was travelling.
This was a very generous present from my friends but a slightly odd one because I don't wear that much make up. I do love Clinique skin care products though. I'll go through the contents of the travel set.
~~~The Visible Skin Renewer~~~
I tried this over a number of weeks and it did improve the texture of my skin. Fine facial lines were less apparent but the deeper, polyfilla needing wrinkles remained unchanged. No suprise there then! The cream is odorless and non greasy and my skin feels relaxed and comfortable after rubbing it in. Clinique claims that it "Over time strengthens skin for its healthiest look" I don't know whether this is true or not but my skin looks good at the moment. I really like this product and I am regretting the imminent emptying of the tub.
Normally this retails for around £28.00 for 1.7 oz. It does last a long time because a little goes a long way. (Talking of going a long way, here is a tip for you. Don't do what I did and drop this on the plane. It rolled about ten rows of seats back! It took me ages and a lot of fumbling about on the floor to retrieve it!)
~~~Advanced Stop Signs Eye Preventive Cream~~~
This cream is to combat dryness and fine lines under and around the eyes. It is a lighter cream that the normal face moisturiser. It is also supposed to brighten the dark areas under your eyes. I found that this worked okay but didn't do a huge amount for me and if I put too much on it left me looking a bit panda like, as it is white and doesn't sink in too easily. I'm not too impressed with this and think that it is very expensive for what it does.
This retails at around £30.00 for a pot of 5 fl. oz./15 ml.
~~~7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula~~~
Now this is a really good product. A tiny blob gives me all I need to wash my face and leave it feeling refreshed. It exfoliates gently and doesn't leave my skin feeling like a stretched leather handbag. It rinses off easily too. A tube like this little one is a lot easier to manage in the tight confines of an airplane loo than a bar of soap is. It's more hygienic too.
This tube retails at around £14.00 for 3.4 fl. oz. It has lasted me well.
~~~Perfectly Real Makeup~~~
This is a very lightly textured foundation which goes on easily and blends in well. It doesn't go dry or powdery or sink into lines like some foundations do. I find that it stays on for a reasonable amount of time and looks natural.
I don't know if each travel pack contains the same pale shade (No 42) that was in my pack. Both tubes were the same. I was left wondering if the purchaser (My friend in America) had chosen the shade or if it was just a happy accident that the foundation was the right colour for me.
I don't use foundation often so these have lasted me very well. It does seem to brighten my skin as advertised.
This travel kit is marketed to brighten your face whilst travelling. It does that and it is refreshing to use. The product sizes are not fiddly and won't be used up after a couple of flights. It also gives you something to do whilst you're waiting to arrive! (Always a bonus for me because I travel a lot!) I think that it is let down by having no nice little bag to keep it all together. I imagine that this was an expensive gift and I was very grateful to recieve it but I don't think that I could justify buying it for myself.
