I had a sachet of Aveeno daily moisturising lotion in my massive sample stash which I am working my way through. I have no idea where it came from or how long it has been there! My legs were feeling a bit dry so I thought I'd give the generous 10ml sachet a try.
I have heard of this brand before but really don't think I have used anything in the range that I can remember. It looks a bit old fashioned which is perhaps why I have not bought it on purpose.
The lotion is white and not too runny. It spread around my legs easily and sunk in quickly too, which is always a bonus as I tend to be getting ready in a rush. I noticed it smelt quite medicated though which is not a good fragrance for me.
I rubbed in the lotion over my legs and immediately they felt really soft. It did not feel sticky or wet at all so that was a good feature.
Superdrug currently sell 300 ml for £4.76 which is a good price as it is on promotion and it normally sells for £7.15. It does say it is fragrance free so the medicated smell I can detect must come from one of the natural ingredients!
What's special about it?
This lotion contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal which moisturises dry skin for 24 hours.
I do agree that this leaves skin soft, smooth and healthy. I can't comment over the two week promise to improve dry skin as I did not have enough to last this amount of time. Would I rebuy? For me the smell puts me off a bit although it is subtle, it smells like the inside of a medicine cabinet so I would probably not rebuy in a rush.
I tried Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion for the first time this week. It is in the 3 for 2 range at Boots online for £7.65 and you can collect 28 advantage points upon purchasing which is always a bonus.
The bottle - I purchased the 300ml bottle which is flat on the surface to it can stand easily on my shelf, it has rounded and the bottle is an oatmeal colour with a sage green bottle neck. The bottle has a pump lid which I do like because I find it easier than trying to screw a lid back on whilst you have lotion on your hands, it saves any mess or clumps around the lid and its easy to pump out the amount you need.
On the front of the bottle we are told it is dermatologist recommended, clinically proven to relieve dry skin, moiturizes for 24 hours and is fragrance free. The lotion contains natural collodial oatmeal.
The desription on the boots website: Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion combines the concentrated goodness of finely-milled, naturally active Oats with rich emollients, to moisturise dry skin for 24 hours. This unique formula is clinically proven to go beyond 24 hour moisturisation and replenish the skin's natural barrier function, to significantly improve the condition of dry skin in just 2 weeks. Absorbs quickly and leaves skin looking and feeling soft, smooth and healthy. Fragrance and paraben free.
Texture: This lotion has a medium texture. I can squirt some onto my hand, hold it upside down and it doesn't slip off but at the same time its not paste like. It is not grainy at all but smooth in consistency. It applies well to the skin and absorbs quickly.
The results: After using the lotion I did feel that my skin felt softer. I used it on rough patches of skin and even my partner remarked after the first application that my skin felt smoother and guessed I'd be continuously moisturising when in fact I'd applied once. Aveeno recommends that using the lotion for two weeks will result in a noticeable difference.
Smell: Aveeno daily moisturising lotion is fragrance free. This is clearly stated on both the bottle and on the Boots website. There really is virtually no smell at all, perhaps just a faint vaseline type smell. Personally I find this a bit boring and the scent is usually what sells a product like this for me. I understand some people are sensitive to fragranced lotions so it could be ideal for them, but for me its just missing a gorgeous smell like other lotions I have used.
Price: I like to determine prices by comparing the cost per 100ml. This particular moisturiser costs £2.55 per 100ml. The price is fair for the product but I have used equally good products for less cost so for this reason I probably wouldn't purchase Aveeno moisturising lotion again for myself. I don't have any special requirements that would make me purchase Aveeno over other moisturisers (eg. dry skin or the need for fragrance free)
All in all it is a good moisturiser with positive results. I was pleased that my partner almost instantly commented on how soft my skin felt. However a few hours later it had worn off. In future I would purchase something with a fragrance.

Aveeno is a moisturising lotion, with naturally active colloidal oatmeal which helps dry/eczema prone skin. It comes in 2 sizes, a 200ml strong plastic tube with a flip lid and a 300ml strong plastic pump bottle and is available either fragrance free or lightly scented (lavender).
I came across Aveeno when my niece was prescribed it by the doctor to help with her eczema. I'd always suffered from dryish skin but as long as I motorised well it was fine, however when I fell pregnant my skin became noticeably worst and I asked the doctor to prescribe Aveeno to me. I actually didn't realise I could simply buy it from the chemist! It worked wonders for my skin, keeping it really well moist and I was really excited to find that I didn't need a prescription for it.
The bottles that the cream comes in are creamish and are made from strong plastic. The name Aveeno is clearly displayed in brown writing and a brief description of the product is also on the front of the bottles. The neck of pump bottle/lid of the tube are either light green for the fragrance free or light purple for the lavender lightly scented. Both the tube and pump stands upright. To use the tube it needs a quick squeeze and to use the pump it needs a quick press, both will dispense a blob of cream to spread over your skin.
The cream itself is whitish colours and looks quite thick but feels wet and light. I haven't found it to be greasy, but some people have said it initially feels a little bit greasy, however absorbs very quickly. Initially both the fragrance free and the lightly scented creams do have a slight smell, however it is not overpowering. The cream soaks into the skin really well and the packaging claims to moisturise the skin for 24 hours, which I really think it does.
I have tried both the fragrance free and lightly scented creams and both size bottles. I generally prefer the pump bottle as I find it easier to use and the bottle can be easily unscrewed when/if you need to scrape out the last little bits of the cream. I really like the way this cream absorbs into my skin, and keeps it really well moist. I use it daily and have used it on my son since he was a baby.
I wouldn't say this cream is cheap, but it's not really expensive either for this type of product - the 200ml tube is approx £6 and the 300ml pump bottle is approx £8, however I usually buy it when it's on offer in Boots (3 for 2). I also find a little goes along way, therefore well worth the money.
WHAT IS IT?
It is a body moisturiser for people who have got dry skin. You can buy it in unfragranced or lightly fragranced, I have used both of them but I am reviewing the one that is lightly scented with lavender.
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion comes in a 200ml tube that has got a flip top lid. The tube is made of soft plastic and that makes it very easy to get the lotion out even when there is not very much left in the tube. It is a very attractive tube I think but the 200ml size makes it a bit too bulked to carry round outside of the home.
I do not think this body lotion smells very much of lavender but it has got more of a scent then the unfragranced one. It smells a bit flowery but not very much. The lotion is white and it is quite thick, it feels very wet when I rub it into my skin but it sinks in quite quick and that surprised me. I think my skin feels a little bit greasy for a few minutes after I have applied it but that goes away and then my skin feels normal again.
WHAT I THINK
I like Aveeno for when my skin in dry like it sometimes is at the end of winter. I use it all over my body but I pay the most attention to where my skin is the most dry. It only takes a few days for my skin to get moisturised after I start using it and I think that is good because while I am using it it does not ever feel like it is so effective as other body lotions even though it is.
I don't like that I have to wait to get dressed after I have applied it because of the little greasy feeling on my skin and that stops me using it sometimes if I know that I am in a hurry.
I think this body lotion is very effective and it makes my skin feel less dry straight away, if I use it for about 1 week it will moisturise my skin so that I can go back to using my other more fragranced body products because this one from Aveeno has made my skin feel a lot better. I wish it had a stronger smell of lavender because there is not very much smell but I do think that it smells nicer than the unfragranced lotion and that is why I buy this one sometimes because it is a change.
A 200ml tube of Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion costs about £5 and that is value because it is so effective.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
There was a sale going on at my local target where if you bought two you got one free and I have heard great things about this product so I figured... Why not? Well... Little did I know there were a lot of "nots" for this product.
First of all I noticed that the scent of this product is weird. At first, I could handle it, but now... I cannot stand the scent of this product. It is not natural smelling. It is pretty bitter and rancid. It does not smell like that when it has been applied to skin, but the smell it leaves on skin is by no means pleasant.
The lotion has a weird texture itself so applying it is definitely a chore. It is not exactly grainy, but it also couldn't be considered smooth. the consistancy of this product could be compared to shortening.
The feel of the product is oily. It says on the bottle that it is oil free, but it leaves an oily residue on skin and does not absorb well at all. I have seen no improvement with my skin since I started using this Aveeno product.
Last month my daughter had chicken pox and I noticed afterwards that her skin was unusually dry. I also seem to have developed a rash on my neck (which I am going to put down to Christmas stress!) so after talking to my brother's girlfriend she recommended Aveeno to me as a really good moisturising lotion.
I found it in Superdrug and bought the 200ml tube for £5.49 which I actually thought was really expensive and didn't expect it to be so much! It's far more than I would usually spend on a moisturising lotion but since it came highly recommended and this rash on my neck is annoying it seemed worth the extra few quid.
The lotion is made of finely milled naturally active colloidal oatmeal with rich emollients: to help improve the condition of dry skin, replenish skin's natural barrier function and leave skin soft and healthy. It is suitable for adults and children, and I have been told by various others with eczema that it has lots of soothing properties so it's also good for sensitive skin.
Using the cream is ideal and easy to apply. It comes out from a small hole in the bottom of the tube, with a slight squeeze. The lotion is a slightly off white coloured lotion and has quite a thick consistency to it, which in fairness is what I expected from this kind of lotion. It is non-greasy, and doesn't leave my skin (nor my daughter's) feeling shiny and oily, but my neck in particular looks and feels well moisturised and supple. The cream is meant to last for 24 hours, but I tend to apply this on my neck at night time (as for some reason this is the time it starts to really itch) and by the morning I do feel as though I need to apply a bit more just to set me up for the day. Similarly, if I moisturise my daughter in the morning, regardless by evening when I have picked her up from nursery her skin seems quite dry again! Saying this, I do think the effects of this lotion last a long time but it definitely is not the 24 hours.
The tube states it is fast absorbing and I have to agree that it definitely is. The smell is quite neutral and rather "oaty" as this does not have any superfluous perfume scents or additives which I really like for this as a rather wholesome, neutral moisturising lotion. I have found it really does aid my itchy neck and stops me from wanting to scratch at it all night long and I have definitely seen improvement in my daughter's skin. It looks a lot more well nourished these days and whilst her skin has always been soft and supple this lotion does prolong the smoothness.
Overall, my daughter and I are 100% happy with this and in terms of performance and effectiveness it is great! To be honest though it is rather expensive, and I will probably leave this for usage only if I have another eczema patch flare up or if my daughter becomes really dry again. It is really high quality, and I'm glad it's available on the high street without a prescription as it's a great over the counter remedy for dry skin and small irritable patches. Of course for severe cases, it's always best to go to the doctors as a steroid cream prescription may be necessary but on the milder scale, this is good for as a soft and gentle moisturiser.
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
When my step daughter lived with us for six months after her marriage split we had the pleasure of granddaughter and her company and all the ups and downs that go along with that closeness.
Partly the stress and partly other things caused my step daughter's eczema to flare up again and so in order to avoid using steroid cream we did some investigation as to what was new on the market that we had not tried before.
The product that came up as being more natural and very calming for eczematic skin was this Aveeno lotion or aloe vera lotion. We had tried aloe vera a few times before so thought this was worth a try.
AVEENO PRODUCTS AND HOW THEY ARE CREATED:
This particular lotion is for dry skin, there are other lotions for extra dry irritable skin and for dry eczematic skin .
Aveeno products are created using naturally beneficial ingredients such as oats and soy.
All their skin products have been dermalogically tested for safety and efficacy.
The process of manufacturing the colloidal oatmeal does not involve and chemical solvents.
The oat oil is extracted through an environmentally friendly process and the oat essence is carefully extracted and is the most important anti-irritant ingredients of this product.
Oats have been known to be soothing on the skin for many years and they also create a protective barrier on the skin which stops moisture loss.
THE DAILY MOISTURISING LOTION PACKAGING
This comes in a plastic upside down tube with the lid as the base. The lid is a flip up lid that clicks down to shut the opening. It holds 200ml of creamy goodness. The tube of course can be recycled through you usual plastic recycling method.
When you get near the end of the tube it is harder to get the cream out and the last bit I found i had to cut my tube to get out the last scrapings.
This is not tested on animals and has no animal products in it so is Vegan friendly.
The tube with the product is pretty plain looking a dark cream colour with muted greens and browns. The tube has the brand name on the front and basic information printed on the back of the tube. On the front it says that the lotion has "naturally active collodial oatmeal "and it states that the lotion "moisturises dry skin for 24 hours". It is also stated clearly that it is fragrance free so if anyone has a problem with fragranced ingredients this would be suitable.
The cream is a creamy whitish colour, quite thick but rather light feeling. It doesn't feel heavy and greasy at all. I find that this spreads easily and a little goes a long way. The cream soaks in easily and quickly leaving my skin feeling cool and soothed as well as well moisturised without any greasy feeling at all.
The product has very small finely-milled oats in it which initially I found a little weird but it doesn't feel like a scrub at all, in fact you barely notice it after the initial first observation.
I have never had any problem with this being absorbed into my skin no matter how dry or sore it has been. As I have said before my step daughter suffers really badly at times with eczema and she finds this helps keep her skin feeling less irritated and dry. We have also used it on our granddaughter when she has had eczema and also when she had a sore bum and we couldn't find the nappy cream. I wouldn't suggest using this instead of nappy cream but for the odd occasion it does do a pretty good job.
When I have sore eczematic skin patches i put this on at least twice a day and often more if it gets itchy. It really does calm my skin and leaves it feeling cool and less sore.
When I don't have eczema patches I use this at night as I find it is a great moisturiser and in the morning my skin still feels soft and not dry at all.
The smell is subtle and not unpleasant as it has not got any perfume added. It smells a little like porridge oats and with a very slight creamy and clean sort of odour but hardly noticeable.
Yes indeed as this is a far more natural product that many that are sold for eczema and oats are so wonderfully naturally soothing and moisturising. If you do suffer from eczema as well as using this stuff you can make yourself a bath additive using oats and lavender essential oil. Put the oats in a muslin bag and let it hang where the water is coming in from the tap or just drop it in your bath water and add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil in the bath and this is soothing for your skin and calming for your brain and body so will help your sleep. This is a perfect and very cheap way to enjoy a relaxing bath prior to going to bed. After the bath just give your dry skin a feed with this cream and hop into bed. You will wake refreshed and with your skin feeling soft and well moisturised.

I was recently advised by my doctor to stop using my usual E45 cream when ever my eczema flares up because it contains lanolin which he suspected I might be allergic to.
He recommended Aveeno and I have been using the daily moisturising lotion for the past two weeks. I purchased my 300ml bottle of it from Superdrug as it was on offer and I paid around £4.99 if I remember correctly. It retails at around £7.65 and a smaller 200ml version is also available - this comes in a tube and it costs around £5.00. While this does seem quite expensive it is around the same price as E45 and seeing as a little goes a long way a 300ml bottle will last me for at least a month. I only get small patches of eczema on my wrists and ankles but if you have it all over then this might not be the most affordable option but it is effective so overall worth the money.
The bottle that the lotion comes in is white and slightly rounded. It is made from sturdy plastic and it stands upright. The pump is easy to use and it dispenses a large blob of product with just one press. The band around the bottom of the pump is green and the pump can be easily unscrewed from the neck of the bottle which will be handy when there's not much left and I need to scrape it out. The branding is really plain but informative and the brand and product name are written clearly on the font of the bottle. There is a brief product description on the front which says that the lotion has naturally active collodial oatmeal in the ingredients and it is claimed that the lotion moisturises dry skin for 24 hours. It is also stated clearly that it is fragrance free.
The lotion itself is an off-white colour. It is very thick but easy to spread over my skin and a small blob is enough to cover each of my arms. The lotion has very small finely-milled oats in it which are not at all gritty and despite my initial worries the texture of them does not irritate my skin. The lotion is quick and easy to rub into my skin and my skin absorbs it really quickly. Once I've rubbed it in my skin feels almost instantly better. There is a very thin greasy film left on my skin for a few minutes after applying it but after it's all been absorbed my skin is left feeling soft and nourished. It does leave my skin looking quite shiny and I am not able to wear an adhesive dressing on my eczema for a few hours after applying the lotion as it doesn't stick properly but this isn't much of an issue.
I apply this twice everyday and my skin is no where near as dry as it used to be. Whenever I apply this before bed my skin still feels nice and soft and moisturised in the morning. My patches of eczema look a lot more calm and they don't itch half as much and when they do I just apply some of this and it instantly soothes my skin. The smell is subtle and quite pleasant - it smells slightly like vanilla in my opinion. I think that this stuff is great and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a natural moisturiser.
I was recommended this cream as an emollient for my son by a nurse when his eczema was bad, the pharmacist tried to persuade me to buy a different version but I'm so glad I bought this. I used the product on my son for a period and it was certainly soothing for his skin but I soon realised how nice it was for me as well! My hands became nice and soft from rubbing it in to him! I started using it as a body moisturiser and found that the small white eczema patches I experience on my arms started to clear up, yay! They had got bad enough for me to worry about wearing sleeveless tops but now I worry no more! I do find the product quite expensive and have just started trying a body shop product I got given but if my skin starts to develop patches again, I will go straight out to buy aveeno again.
I discovered Aveeno products about four years ago when I was going through a particularly stressful period in my life. Whenever I suffer from high levels of stress my body reacts in all sorts of odd ways, including stomach cramps, dizziness, headaches and skin conditions such as dryness and excessive itchiness.
My friend had suggested oatmeal baths to help to relieve the maddening redness and itchiness but although it gave a very temporary relief, it didn't really help long-term, sadly. My doctor prescribed all sorts of creams and lotions but nothing really helped to alleviate the problem. I did some research on the Internet and read some reviews about Aveeno products and how they contain a unique formula - 'Naturally Active Colloidal Oatmeal'. I had read so many positive reports about the range that I decided to try it out for myself.
I very easily located some in my local branch of Boots. I bought the tube of Aveeno lotion for £5.80 for a 200ml tube. It is beige in colour with a dark green flip top lid which sort of 'rests on it's head, so to speak, so that the contents are always at the top of the tube.
This is no exaggeration when I say to you that I felt immediate relief from my horrible rash and itching within the first thirty or so minutes of my using this fantastic product. In all honesty, I was amazed at just how quickly this cream seemed to take effect. The weeks and weeks of intense itching and scratching were just gone! I was over the moon.
I cannot recommend this wonderful cream highly enough. It is fragrance free - I can detect a very slight smell when I use it but it is certainly not perfumed. It is light cream/ white in colour and fairly thick in consistency. I thought when I first applied it that it might just have sat on top of my skin as it looks so thick it seems it might be difficult to absorb - actually this is not the case at all. A slight stroking of it onto my skin and I could both see and feel how easily it was being absorbed.
It was immediately soothing and calming and did not feel sticky or greasy. I use this cream whenever I feel a flare up coming on and I have also used it many times on my face as well as my body as I feel it is gentle enough o be used on the face and neck area.
I have also used the lotion (which comes in a larger bottle and is not quite so thick) and I use the Aveeno Bath Oil too when my skin is going through a really rough patch (no pun intended!). It smoothes and soothes my skin and makes it feel so soft and healthy looking. I have another friend who's doctor prescribes her Aveeno Cream as she suffers from psoriasis and she also agrees with me that it works so well at alleviating her awful symptoms.
Very much recommended by me and I certainly couldn't do without it.

I suffer from quiet sensitive dry skin. My skin can become quiet itchy and inflamed especially in dry conditions. Sometimes certain shower gels can add to the irritation and anyone who suffers the same condition as me will understand when I say how uncomfortable and and sore this can make you feel.
I tried using unsented shower gels, using a clean cloth to wipe off the showe gel and also patting my legs with a cold, damp towel. Nothing seemed to work and as mentioned once the itching started it was had to stop scatching which then led to red, sore, broken skin. As i am typing this I realise how unattractive I have made myself seem but I wanted to get across how much this cream can be a real benifit to people who suffer from simular skin conditions.
I found aveeno while I was shopping at my local boots. I was searching for a new body cream one which would hopefully relieve the itching. I am awilling to give anything a try once as I am a strong believer that different products work for different people. I wen home and had a shower, used an unsented shower gel and once I had dried tried my new body cream. The effects were instant there was no irritation, my skin was lovely and smooth and there was a lovely scent on the body cream. Not too ovepowering but enough to leave a natural outdoors smell. I was very impressed with aveeno but realised I needed to put it to a proper test. The following day I showered and used a normal scented shower gel. It was lovely to use a scented shower gel it makes you feel really clean afte a shower. I then applied the aveeno not really expecting to experience any great changes. But to my surprise there was no itching and again my skin felt soft and smooth.
Needless to say I am very impressed with this product and would definately recommend that people with skin irritations give it a try. My next step will be to try the other products by aveeno. Since using the body cream I am able to use normal shower gels without the irritation. The body cream is not expensive I believe I pay around £3 and because of the fantastic results this is £3 well spent.
As I've mentioned in many other reviews, I have rather dry, sensitive skin and have to be very careful with scented products as many fragrances cause severe headaches, dizziness, and difficulty breathing. In my search for a high quality, unscented lotion I read review after review of people praising Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion. It seemed to be exactly what I was looking for in lotion. I was sure I had tried this product several years ago, but I could not recall why I disliked it. A half price offer at Morrison's convinced me to give it a second chance.
--- Packaging ---
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion comes in a 200ml tube or a 300ml pump bottle. I bought the 200ml tube. The tube is beige with a sage green flip top lid on which the tube can stand- which ensures the lotion comes out of the tube without too much difficulty. The lettering on the bottle is brown and sage green. It claims to use "naturally active colloidal oatmeal" to moisturise dry skin for 24 hours. It is fragrance free. The tube's colour and design give the product a very natural appearance.
The lotion is creamy white and thick enough that you can turn your hand upside down with a large blob of lotion without fearing drips. The first thing I notice about this lotion is the smell. I instantly remembered what I had disliked so much in the past. This product is the perfect reminder that fragrance fee does not mean scent free. The ingredients give it a very strong scent that reminds me of suncream and tyre rubber- very unpleasant. The lotion spreads over the skin nicely and gives instant relief to my dry skin. It soaks in quite quickly but leaves it feeling a bit tacky. After a few minutes it starts to feel slightly greasy. Worse still, the horrible scent lingers long after application. The lotion is fairly effective at moisturising my dry skin, but I cannot say it lives up to the 24 hour claim. If I apply at night my skin is dry again by morning. Sometimes my skin starts to feel dry again within an hour.
---Price and Availability---
This lotion is widely available at most supermarkets, chemists, and online. A 200ml tube is currently listed at £5.87 or £6.95 for the 300ml bottle on Amazon. Tesco has the 300ml bottle at £6.98. At boots the bottle will put you back £7.65. It is worth waiting for an offer as it is a bit expensive full price, however, I personally dislike this product and can not recommend it.
This product which has received so many positive reviews from others only gets 2 stars from me. It is only moderately effective, rather smelly and feels unpleasant.
I bought this moisturiser as the ones I'd previously tried were too thin and runny, which meant their effects often were only temporary and didn't last very long.
The packaging for this product is simple, in an 'oatmeal' shaded tube with a green lid and the Aveeno logo, with some brief description. It may not be the most glamorous of packaging, but it's nice and simple.
The main thing that attracted me to this product is that it's fragrance free and contains oatmeal, which calms the skin. This caught my attention because I often get razor rash on my legs and want a moisturiser that calms it down.
The cream itself is lovely and thick with no particular fragrance, which I found to be great. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves it feeling so incredibly smooth! I was amazed how soft my skin felt afterwards, and a little bit really goes a long way, so it lasts quite a while.
The only downsides I've experience is that, if you buy the 'pump' bottle one, the pump can become clogged and also you need to 'stir' and shake the bottle so that the product from around the sides of the bottle is able to be picked up by the pump, but this is no problem if you buy the squeeze tube.
I was fortunate enough to be sent a free sample of Aveeno's Daily Moisturising Lotion last year, and I took the large sachet away with me on holiday. I was very glad I did.
After having a quick swim in the sea one afternoon, the tops of my feet came out in a horribly red and painful rash. I'm not sure that it was either sunburn or prickly heat, because I always take care to use SPF 30 or even 50, and wasn't out in the sun for very long. I tried aftersun lotion, but that didn't help. Then I remembered my Aveeno Lotion, so applied that to my poorly feet. And this lovely miracle lotion did the trick! It soothed my skin almost immediately, and I had enough left over to last a few more days until the rash had died down.
When I got home, I ordered some from Superdrug, knowing that I would be glad to add this product to my skincare routine. A large 300ml pump-action bottle costs £5.10 (on special offer - it's usually £7.10) in Superdrug (as of 28th April). It's also available from Amazon for £5.10 with free UK delivery. Superdrug also sells a 200ml tube at £3.10, reduced from £5.10. The lotion is now also available with lavender, although I haven't tried this yet. I know from personal experience that lavender oil has very beneficial effects for your skin, and is also useful as an insect repellent.
Although I don't suffer from eczema or psoriasis, I do have ridiculously dry skin. And the skin on my forearms is especially thin and sensitive - if I rub or scratch a bit of skin I come out in a bruise or a blood blister straight away. My legs are also really dry and flaky, and it normally takes quite a heavy-duty cream or lotion to keep them feeling comfortable as well as looking soft and smooth.
Aveeno's lotion contains 'Naturally Active Colloidal Oatmeal', and the information on the back of the bottle states that 'This unique formula is clinically proven to go beyond 24 hour moisturisation and replenish the skin's natural barrier function, to significantly improve the condition of dry skin in just 2 weeks'.
I've done some investigation on various websites about dry skin, and - quoting from the website dry-skin-care-guide.com - found that 'Studies have shown that human beings have been using oatmeal baths as natural cures for extra dry skin for over 4,000 years'. I've also found that oatmeal is helpful for sunburn, 'soothing irritated skin and drawing heat out of the top layers of the skin'. No matter what had caused the horrid rash on my feet, I was very grateful for my sachet of Aveeno - it really helped soothe the pain and redness, and reduced the unsightly and uncomfortable rash.
Since I began using the Aveeno Lotion, my skin has really improved. Although the lotion is quite rich and creamy, it absorbs quickly and keeps me moisturised for some time. The bottle says that it 'moisturises dry skin for 24 hours' - I'm not sure I'd go quite that far, but it certainly keeps me comfortable for hours and hours. And by using it regularly, the condition of my skin has improved dramatically.
I personally believe that winter (hopefully behind us now!) is one of the worst times of the year for skin. We're all huddled under layers of clothes, and central heating doesn't help either. So I think this product is perfect, not just for immediate relief, but also for getting your skin ready for the warmer months when we will hopefully be baring rather more to the world. And of course it will help keep your skin beautifully moisturised when those warmer months finally arrive.
I heartily recommend this moisturising lotion to anyone who suffers from dry skin, and give it a much-deserved five stars.

I have been using Aveeno cream for a long while now having stumbled across it in Boots about 6 years ago . I suffer from eczema, mainly on my hands, and have always found that many of the moisturisers and hand creams that are allegedly pure and soothing to eczema actually make my skin feel very hot and almost don't let it breathe (the only way I can describe it) so it just gets itchier and more aggravated. The cream contains collodial oatmeal, known for its soothing properties, and while it is really quite thick it is not greasy or oily (unlike some other eczema creams), it absorbs well into skin without and has a very pleasant smooth silky feel to it. A little goes a long way, and I find the tube costing around £5 lasts for a long time. It is now, thankfully, available in more and more supermarkets as wells as shops like Boots. The smell, as described by other reviewers is a little strange, but it's not unpleasant or offensive, and anyway, that is far far outweighed by the amazing results. For me it definitely does help with the itching. I find the hand cream equally as good, in a smaller tube which is fine for a handbag or whatever. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone seeking a calming lotion to soothe their skin.
