A beautiful lotion which is the best one I have ever used.

I like to use body lotions which have lovely aromas and which also moisturise well, but many of these have Parabens in them. These chemicals seem to be causing some concerns around the world, as they are thought to have hormone mimicking properties. Nothing has been set in stone as yet, but I still feel wary of using body lotions which contain these chemicals, until we receive categorical evidence that these are in fact safe to use. Some countries including Norway and Japan have already banned them. Many new products are taking advantage of this, and recently we saw the launch of the new range Jergen's. However one of the joys of Dooyoo has to be recommendations, and certainly I was delighted to read an excellent review on here recently by Saramac praising the range produced by Tisserand. The company was born in 1974 when a gentleman named Robert Tisserand began to make aromatherapy products from his bedroom in South London, literally taking his items to the Post Office each week. It really was a small scale operation in those days! It was in 1985 with the formation of Tisserand, that Robert was able to act as adviser to make products which fitted his knowledge and expertise. From humble beginnings, which pre- dated all the health scares and ethical bandwagons we now see many jumping on, this company was at the roots of the safe manufacture of toiletries, and provided a chemical free shopping opportunity, long before many had dreamed of the concept at all. The Sweet Orange, Jasmine and Mango Butter Body Lotion is a delightful light, beautifully scented product which is presented in a pump dispenser. The attractive and colourful peaches and cream shades on the front make this look enticing, and give the impression of freshness and purity. I purchased mine online from Ebay but you can order from Tisserand themselves at www.tisserand.com, and it retails for £8.50 for a 200mls bottle. Many of the larger supermarkets are also now stocking some of the range. Suitable for vegans, this is something important to me, as not only is my daughter a vegan, but I don't like to use products which are tested on animals, or contain animal ingredients, if I can avoid it. This product contains no synthetic fragrances at all, and is as pure as it can be and uses essential oils. I think it is also very important to note that on The Tisserand website if you are a qualified aroma therapist you can purchase products at trade prices, but you must have proof of your qualifications. It gives you some idea of the integrity of the firm and what they stand for, The lotion is a lovely off white, is light and creamy and sits lightly on the skin. Rubbing it in leaves the skin smooth and supple and deeply moisturised without being greasy. The best attribute by far has to be the scent, it really is so gorgeous as it is like the smell of the peel from a fresh Clementine at Christmas, citrusy and very fresh and clean; it is a delight to use and something I will purchase time and time again. There is a matching soap in the range, which I fully intend to purchase soon, because I am anticipating this will be just as beautiful. The jasmine oil and mango butter add to the scent, but the overall fragrance is orange. If you buy this, and love it, then you will also like to try the Greek producer "Korres" who have a lovely sun lotion which has a very similar sweet orange fragrance, which my daughter loves as much as I do. The beauty of this lotion is that the fragrance lingers long after you have used it. At night I sometimes wake up and can detect it on my pillow, which makes a lovely start to the morning. It would make a lovely after sun I have no doubt too, and it looks delightful on my dressing table. All the essential oils are gathered from plants which have been grown organically and the lotion contains vitamins B5, C and E. It does advise not to leave in direct sunlight, and due to the natural ingredients it may change in colour over time. For this reason I am resisting the urge to buy some more lotions from their range for a few months until I have finished this current bottle, but after that I may be off to search out the others in the range which include a rose and lavender. This really is a product worth buying as I have enjoyed every moment of using and wearing it, and the fragrance is uplifting and so fresh -it's like line drying washing on a spring day, or walking through orchards at blossom time. It's a perfect sweet orange treat and one which deserves 5*
