I used to love this gel but it no longer seems to be available as the last time that I went to buy it for my holiday I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I only ever bought it in summer as I thought it made a lovely after sun instead of the traditional cream ones as it really helped cool my skin down as well as making it feel lovely and soft.
The gel was especially nice on warm skin when you kept it in the fridge as it used to get so cold and it cooled the skin down instantly when you put it on and if your skin was feeling a little bit burny from the sun then this really helped.
It was also quite moisturising on my skin and I loved the fact that it absorbed really quickly as well as leaving absolutely no residue on the skin. It left my skin soft and smooth feeling without making it greasy.
The only thing that I didn’t really like about this was the smell as it was reminded me of grass. I would have liked something a bit more perfumed but I overlooked that because it was such a nice product to use and was really caring on my skin especially after having been in the sun.
I hope the Body Shop decide to release this gel again as it was really good and I miss being able to get it when I go on holiday as it worked as well as any after sun and felt nicer on my skin than most of them.
This was given to me quite a while ago now and it has been left untouched while I went for the pretty smelling alternatives I had, the other day I thought I would give it a try.
We had been walking all around Blackpool for the previous couple of days, enjoying the lights and beach so my legs and feet were rather tired. I decided to give them a bit of a treat and so when I saw the word cooling on the bottle I thought this would be ideal.
I settled on the sofa and dispensed from the bottle a little of the gel onto my hand. It is almost entirely clear, with just the tiniest hint of green to it. It is a rather thin gel but will hold its own shape. There is not much scent to speak of, which as we all know is better for those with sensitive skin and that is the skin type that this has been created specifically for.
The bottle has a flip top lid with a small hold to squeeze the gel through, this means you can control the amount you get out quite well.
This is one of those products where a little goes a very long way. The gel melts into the skin and just makes the skin feel wet before after just a few moments completely disappearing. By just a few moments I really do mean seconds! This has to be the fastest product I have ever come across when it comes to drying, a lot of creams, lotions and potions leave your skin feeling wet or oily for quite a while but not this one.
In my opinion this gel is ideal for anyone with itchy or maybe even slightly sun burnt skin to apply, the Aloe Vera it contains will help calm the skin and as it is so gentle on skin it wont cause any further problems. It could even be used as a daily moisturiser for your body.
I don't know that it is particularly cooling but the feel of it is very nice indeed, I am now sorry that I had overlooked it in favour of scents.
This is a great idea if you struggle to find time to moisturise your body where you just don't have time to bother applying creams where you need to wait for them to dry before dressing.
Each bottle contains 250ml and comes in at a cost of £8.50, not exactly cheap but effective and soothing. The fact that you only need a tiny amount to cover a large area makes this better value than it seems at first glance too.
Scent isn't always important and this gel shows that. A great product that can be used by anyone and everyone, I highly recommend it.
