I would not buy this, not nice

I think I 'acquired' this tube of hand and body cream from a work colleague who decided she didn't really like it much. Not one to see anyhting wasted, I asked her if I could have it if she was throwing it out and I gave it a go myself. I admit I had never heard of the name before I saw this tube - JASON? I initially wondered if it stood for something. The tube is rather large (250g) and I am happy to report that the blurb states it has not been tested on animals. Always a good thing! It's easy to use, stands on its 'head' and had a flip top lid. I know my friend paid around £6 for his cream as she was pretty annoyed with herself after she had started to use it, only to find that she wasn't keen on it. When I first used it I admit I wasn't too sure about the smell - especially as it is actually not supposed to have any fragrance at all! Well, I can assure you - it does! Not a particularly nice one, either, I'm afraid. The tube states it contains Vitamin E and is easily absorbed into the skin for a wonderful softening effect. Personally I don't like this cream that much. I only used a small amount the first time I used it, rubbed it in gently as I do with all handcreams, but then I found it just sort of 'sat there' on my hands and wasn't absorbed very well at all. I was particularly disappointed as I was on the desk at work and I had to answer the phone and use a pen - I found everything was slipping and sliding out of my hands - it was terrible. I eventually had to use a tissue to try to wipe my hands clean. However, the smell contniued to linger even after I had wiped it off and I found this annoying too. I asked my friend if she'd like it back but she just laughed and said 'no'. It can also be used as a body lotion I am told, but there is no way I would choose to rub this on my body - I can only imagine feeling greasy and sticky on a much bigger scale. We have now left it placed on the side of the wahbasin in the staff toilets so anyone who wants to use it can help themselves - aren't we kind? Sorry, but I cannot recommend this product. Not nice.

Ok as body lotion if you don't mind the smell, but not an effective hand cream

On my continuing quest to find good products that are not tested on animals, I tried this 'Jason' hand cream as I am always interested in new companies whose policies are to have organic and animal-friendly products. A bit of a weird name for a brand, Jason, but I wasn't put off and decided to give it a go. First impressions were that it is quite good value at £6-7 for a bumper 250g tube. Packaging is nice enough, with a flip-top lid which I like for handcream as screw on tops can be a bit fiddly, particularly to replace when you've just applied hand cream to your hands! It states that it is fragrance free, however it does have a scent (presumably natural) which is actually rather unpleasant. The consistency is nice and reassuringly thick & creamy. However, I didn't find it easily absorbed and it does feel a little greasy at first. After a little while of rubbing it in it does absorb and there is definitely a softening effect but it's not very long lasting on hands. The product is described as a 'hand and body' lotion but I wouldn't rate it for hands as it's not man enough for the job if you have dry hands. For body lotion it does soften but to be honest I am too put off by the unpleasant smell to plaster this stuff all over my body! I will use it up as I get through so much hand cream and generally reapply several times a day, but I won't be buying this one again. I will however try a couple more of their products so if you are interested watch this space....
