      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A real winner from M&S!

I picked up this 'white peach and almond' hand and body at my local M&S for the bargain price of £1 for a 300ml bottle, which I thought was a pretty good deal considering other rival brands are quadruple the price. I thought I would give it a try, I didn't have anything to loose at that price. This product claims to be: 'specially formulated with natural extracts of peach and almond, this hand and body lotion will soften and moisturize skin leaving it feeling soft and smooth.' Product information is written on the back of the bottle, and this product is also made in the UK, which I like because I really hate the fact that some cheaper brands mass produce in sleazy, Asian countries with all kinds of chemicals. Another bonus is that it is not tested on animals. Packaging isn't anything special but it does the job. The lotion is contained in a rather wide plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, which I love because it saves time so you don't have to open a lid and spend ages squeezing the product out. It's quite uncommon for body lotion to be stored in pump dispensers however I much prefer it. It looks more like a soap dispenser rather than a body lotion. Two long stickers are placed either side of the container, one at the front shows the products name, logo, a cute picture of peaches and how much is contained inside. The other sticker, which is situated on the back, shows the products claims, how to use the lotion and where it is made. This 'white peach and almond' lotion is part of the 'essential extracts' range at M&S, along with many other skincare products and flavors. I also brought the white peach and almond shower gel and bubble bath, which are equally as good as this body lotion. The 'essential extracts' range products are all priced at £1, such a bargain. The smell of this product is delicious, and is also transferred onto your skin. The scent is a musky, sweet peach fragrance. Although it does have almond flavoring, I cannot smell any almonds..I was unaware that almonds even had a scent? Nonetheless, smells divine, especially for a moisturizer. Using it is really easy. Just gently press the pump to retrieve about a 10p sized amount, which is ample to cover an arm or hand at least. About two to three pumps are needed to cover large areas, like legs or chest. To use, simply slap onto your desired area and gently rub in, working in small circles until the lotion is completely absorbed. The product takes merely seconds to sink into skin and dries very quickly. After usage, your skin just feels soft, supple and hydrated with a light peach fragrance. Perfect! However, I wouldn't advise to use this on your face because it's quite thick and could clog pores. I have very sensitive skin and this fortunately hasn't made me break out or itch, so it's great for people with allergies. It is also approved by dermatologists. In consistency, the lotion is quite thick and in colour is an off white with pink undertones. The liquid is fluid with no added bits and texture, it is a smooth creamy goo. It looks similar to yoghurt. A 300ml bottle will last months, I've had mine over a month and I'm only a quarter way through it, baring in mind I use it everyday. Overall, a real winner from M&S and at a price that won't break the bank. I would thoroughly recommend sampling a bottle. It does all I want from a body lotion. You could even use this as an aftersun for after sunbathing or to soothe sunburn and you can rely on it to relieve patchy, rough, broken skin. I love it and will continue to repurchase. 5 stars!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A very reasonably priced body lotion.

        - What is it? - * Specially formulated with almond and peach extracts. * Softens and moisturises your skin. * Leaves your skin feeling smooth - Price and Packaging - At just £1 for 300 ml this I thought was quite a good little bargain from M&S. The hand and body lotion comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a push down plunger which also has a swivel nozzle to enable you to close it so that it can't be accidentally pushed down. I don't need this option as once open but I can see the advantages for travelling or if little hands may be exploring, however they could easily swivel it round in to the plunge and dispense position. The cream however can stay on the nozzle so it's best to give it a wipe after using it. - Using it - * Appearance & Texture This is cream in colour with an extremely faint tinge of peach but only noticed on close inspection. It is light in texture and definitely not as rich and creamy as some other hand and body lotions that I've used. * Smell I love the smell of almonds and had high hopes of this one smelling of almonds but it isn't the case. It neither smells strongly of almonds or peach and does in fact have an ever so slight floral aroma and is definitely in my opinion a feminine smell. * Effectiveness I suffer from dry skin in the cold winter months, particularly on my lower leg / shin area so I go through quite a bit of moisturiser as they can become itchy and uncomfortable. As this isn't a heavy moisturising lotion it doesn't take long to absorb into my skin, neither does it leave a sticky, greasy feel. I do however find that I need a couple of applications before my skin feels nourished and less dehydrated in appearance. - Overall - * Reasonably priced for M&S! * No greasy feeling * Absorbs quickly * Sometimes needs a second application and really dry areas. * Pleasant smelling Review also appears on ciao.
