“ Type: Foundation Brush / Brand: The Body Shop / „
This is a fantastic brush as the bristles are so soft and brush well against the skin. The brush is a little on the expensive side but it does it's job really well and is certainly the best blusher brush that I have ever used. It has lovely soft bristles and a handle which is easy to grasp in the palm of the hand. It doesn't slip from my fingers during use, it stays put, which gives even better results. The brush is great for swirling around loose powder or for swirling against make up pearls. It doesn't pick up too much powder, giving you a better finish. It basically picks up just what you need.
The brush is of good quality and it can be washed with warm water if needed. I wash mine around once a week in a shallow basin of warm soapy water. If you leave the brush to dry naturally it will not lose it's shape. The brush is long lasting. All of my bristles are still intact. The odd one has fallen out but it still looks as good as the day that I bought it. It's not harsh on the skin either and it is a veratile brush so it can be used for a variety of different make-up tasks.
I would recommend this brush. It's the best that I have ever used and much better quality than Avon.
I am sick of buying make up brushes that make my skin look blotchy when applying foundation and bronzer. I can never get it to look natural. So when I received my loyalty card, I decided a trip to The Body Shop to treat myself to a new brush.
The body shop was founded by Dame Anita Roddick and is a customer-focused business that strives to create a fantastic experience for everyone who shops and those that even work for The Body Shop. Part of Loreal empire, they are committed to helping protect the planet, defend human rights, activate self esteem, support Community Trade and ensure everything is animal cruelty free.
This is for sale in most Body Shops and online. It is normally in the section with all the others make up brushes and comes in its own pouch (although the brush seems to big for the pouch ad it doesn't shut well).
I payed £15 (dont forget your loyalty card for 10% off) but you can get these on Ebay or alot cheaper (just dont but second hand!)
Work the brush into the powder and tap any excess powder from the brush. No powder should be visible on the brush. Then, using circular motions, apply evenly across the face.
I am never going back to any other kind of make up brush. EVER.
I have now had this brush for 4 months and it hasn't lost one single bristle and I use it al least twice a day. I have been using it with the Body Shops Natural Minerals foundation and also with my bronzer.
The little pouch is great aswell as I often do my make up on the go. You can also buy this in a smaller version for easy travelling. It takes the right amount of foundation and doesn't make your face look cakey and crack. It is so light that you don't even notice it on your skin and doesn't smudge any other make up and the bristles are so soft to your skin.
A great addition to your make up and in all honesty, a neccessity!
The Body Shop:
Nature's Minerals Foundation Brush:
I have been looking for a brush to apply my blusher and powder on every morning as very other that I have had seems to either make me blotchy or look like a complete doll. So, even though I am getting older I put this on my Christmas list and luckily Santa bought it for me and put it under the tree. I don't really tend to buy a lot of products from The Body Shop because I think it is expensive and I like Rimmel too much. This brush has come in ever so handy....
There are several things that make this brush different from other brushes I have tried and the first is that this is very high quality. I know this because the bristles are soft and also the Body Shop do not agree with animal cruelty which leads me on to my next which is the fact that my face looked a damn site better using this brush than it ever has! My make up seemed smooth and blended with only a little bit of effort used which is great! Finally, this brush is great because it has many hairs/bristles tightly compacted so it is very easy to use and also very effective.
My mum said that this was around £10.00 when she bought it but she cannot really remember. Either way I know this is going to last ages due to the quality. The one disadvantage I have with this product is that the handle is not very long and I sometimes find myself dropping it which is not too good. I would recommend this product to those who wear powder/ blusher etc because this has been a life saver for me. I hope this lasts for a very long time!
I own all the brushes from Body Shop because I absolutely love the quality of them so I used them quite often. When I saw the nature's minerals foundation brush when it was launched I had serious doubts if it can compare in quality with other brushes that I own especially designed for this purpose. Mineral foundation make-up is really tricky to apply and any brush just won't do.
I first ordered it over the internet as I just cold not be bothered travelling to my nearest Body Shop retailer and hour away. It arrived quickly and it was presented in a free black plastic pouch , very useful if I have to take the brush with me or just for general storing. Sometimes I fill it with powder foundation or finishing powder and half way trough the day in summer times, when is hot and I get sweaty, I just take it our off my purse and apply an extra layer over my existing make-up to even things out.
The bristles are very dense well packed and it feels extremely soft. First time I washed this brush before I used it a few hairs fell off it but over time of use I did not had this problem anymore.
I use it by packing the mineral powder into the bristles, tap it once and then I either apply with circular motion on my face and neck or with soft downwards stokes. With the down strokes method is much more better when my skin feels dry and patchy as the powder does not maximise this effect.
This brush cost £15 and is not the most expensive one I have, I also have an Inkia bush and 2 other Lily Lolo ones and it does compare in softness and efficiency with my others.
I wash my kabuki brushes after a couple of uses and this Body Brush makes a very good replacement when my others are dirty and waiting to be washed.
Overall is a very good brush if you do not have access to the internet into purchasing this type of kabuki brushes and is most definatly the best quality brush you can find in a high street shops.
I normally only purchase my make up brushes from mac simply because they are qualit brushes which last a lifetime! I already have the kabuki brush by mac which I use for my powder application but needed another for my bronzer application (experimenting with various application techniques). I know this isn't a kabuki brush but it's of similiar shape and although not as fluffy, for cheek application seemed perfect. I was looking for cheap-ish options and saw this by chance after walking past a store and seeing some bamboo brush roll through the window (before this, I was not aware the body shop did brushes). I walked in and just out of curiosity felt the bristles- they were extremely smooth and to be honest I was a bit shocked. After trying it on the back of my hand a few times, I was still a little sceptical but wanted to try it at home with bronzer. So I chanced paying about £13 I think for this, and thought I'd give it a go. I used this by lightly swirling in my bronzer and then applying on my cheeks and temples and was very impressed with how the bristles and formation of brush allowed the product to be evenly distributed through my face on both sides. The bristles were super soft and even after a couple of washes, still are. I use this regularly now and would recommend it as a bronzer brush to everyone. It helps with seamless application of bronzer and feels very smooth on the face, which is especially good for those of us with more sensitive skins. This is an excellent alternative if you're thinking of purchasing perhaps a more expensive brush too. Overall, I'm highly impressed with this brush and come January might experiment more with some of their eye brushes. Thanks body shop!
I'd always wanted to try Minerals foundation because I heard that it would look so much more natural & light on ur face than liquid foundation so one time I popped in TBS store and asked the consultant so she tried the foundation on my face using this brush.
A good kabubi brush is a must to apply minerals make-up and I liked the brush right when she applied it on my face, it felt so nice. It gave my face a full coverage and smooth look. So I bought this together with the foundation. It retails at £14.65 but I was on the 10th stamp on my LYB card so got 10% off + £10 off. What a bargain!!!
I have used it for nearly 2 months, and I haven't noticed any hair has fallen out yet. After washing a few times, it's still so soft and smooth. The mineral make-up goes so well. It picks up less powder, but creates same gorgeous coverage. I can't even describe the feeling of this brush on my face, you've gotta try it to feel. It's definitely a high-quality brush (like other TBS brushes) and comparing to other high-end make-up brands like MAC,... it's good value for money.
It is small and handy & would perfectly fit any make-up bag. However, it would be better if they designed some better protection for it, it does come with a little packet but doesn't do much help, I would suggest you have some little bag for it.
If you are a fan of minerals make-up, you must own this brush.
If you use mineral powder foundation, espeically the body shop's version- this is the only brush for you. The thick head f fine brushes is perfect for applying the power and achieving the coverage you want.
Here is how:
1. With the foundation pot closed, tip it upside down and shake. Turn upright and open.
2. You will notice some of the powder will have stuck to the inside of your lid, work your brush into the powder in the lid in circular motions.
3. Apply to your face, again in circular motions. You can use a little pressure, but not too much.
4. If you feel more powder/coverage is needed repeat - however remember that the powder takes a little time to settle.
The foundation powder should match your skin almost exactly and so there should not be any unsightly orange jaw lines! I would sweep your foundation brush around your face and jaw line to ensure all the powder has been applied properly to your skin, and you don't end up with a 'powdery' look.
As the brush is small and stubby it fits perfectly in your hand for application, and doesn't take up too much space in your make-up bag!
The brush comes in a little pouch, and I would recommend you keep it in it to protect the bristles. When it needs washing do so with hot water and baby shampoo, dab with a towel and allow to dry naturally overnight.
Prior to this make up, i used to wear Dream Matt Mouse. It made my skin awful and was bad for my complection. I then discovered Rimmel Londons mineral make up, however i thought that it was very cakey, and applied very thickly onto my skin, giving an unnatural look, that i was not looking for. I then found Body Shops Mineral Foundation, and i have to say i was extremely impressed with it. The brush has to be bought seperately, however it is very efficient and gives a good coverage of the foundation over the whole face, and it reaches into all creases in the face, which i found very good. The foundation gives a light coverage that can be built up in layers to create a natural look, so you appear to be wearing no make up at all. Overall i would rate this foundation as one of the best for value on the high street. I found it amazing, and would strongly reccomend it as it keeps your complection perfect.
I have been wanting to try a good Mineral makeup foundation powder for a while now, and I understood that with Mineral foundation you need a good kabuki brush as mineral makeup powder is very fine and light.
A Kabuki brush is a small brush usually with a dense head of bristles or dome shaped. If you wear mineral make up then a good kabuki brush is classed as essential. Mineral make up is a loose powder foundation that is very natural and good for all skin types. There are no perfumes, nasty chemicals or preservatives. When using a normal make up brush with a minerals foundation it can look a bit too heavy, but using a good brush designed for use with mineral make up ensures that it looks natural and gives an even courage.
I was looking over the Mineral makeup powder in the Body Shop when the assistant offered to try some of the powder on me and help me find a good shade. She applied it using one of these brushes and it felt really soft and gentle, I fell in love with it there and then! Even better, the Body Shop was doing 20% off all make up including the make up brushes.
This brush usually costs £14.65, however with the current 20% off promotion it's only £11.72, considering good quality brushes from the likes of MAC can cost over £20, this is a great bargain!
This foundation brush certainly has a high density. It picks up the mineral make up gently and tapping off the excess is easy. It's very easy to smooth this brush over your face, and the mineral makeup goes on great. This brush is lovely and soft, I can't get over how luxurious it feels on my face. It certainly feels of a high quality and a sturdy build and none of the bristles have fell out, which happens with cheap brushes.
It's small enough to fit into your handbag, but I would recommend popping it into a little bag to protect it. It does come with a little plastic cellophane bag which I sometimes pop it into, the packaging isn't designed to store this brush permanently but it does the job for now. It's fien to leave your brush sitting on the dresser though, I would be careful if your spraying any form of hair spray or other products near it though incase they stick into the delicate bristles.
This is a good quality mineral makeup brush at a great price when compared to other high end makeup brushes. This one is a must for your makeup brush set!
I am in love with this makeup brush!! The moment I saw it in the shop, I just knew that it had to be mine.
I have always thought that body shop brushes were good quality but this one really performs perfectly.
I have been using mineral makeup for about 2 years now and have long been on the quest for a "kabuki" brush (a small brush with a very dense head of dome shaped bristles) which feels high quality but does not cost the earth. Every time I spy one in a shop I have a play with the tester and in the meantime I had been using one that cost about the same as the body shop brush but was scratchy and shed bristles constantly.
The body shop website lists the cost as £13.65 but I recall paying £14 for mine. It is officially described as:
A high-density foundation brush, designed to ensure just the right amount of The Body Shop® Nature's MineralsTM Foundation SPF 25 is captured between the bristles, providing a smooth, even application.
I of course use it with my previous mineral makeup (bare escentuals) and find that the density and flexibility of the brush is fantastic and achieves a much better application than I had previously. It also holds the powder really well ensuring that you can give your whole face a good sweep over before needing to give it another dust. Best of all this brush feels wonderful soft and luxurious against my skin. It is a pleasure to use.
In addition the brush also looks attractive, functional but cute. It sits proudly on my dressing table. Should I want to take it out in my makeup bag it also comes with a little plastic cover, which is sadly a bit pointless. It does not close properly but I suppose does at least give the brush some protection from the rest of the contents of my bag.
For anyone looking for the perfect mineral makeup brush at a good price, your search is over!
