I have used the slendertone Ab belt twice.
the first time I used the belt was after I gave birth to my second child I was unable to workout properly for a few months and so was walking and following the plan that it had inside the instruction manual and I noticed results within two weeks.
I am now using the Ab belt for the second time after I broke my collarbone I have been unable to do much exercise and so have gone back to what I was doing after I gave birth. I've been walking daily and using the Ab belt as the instruction manual says and have really started to notice the difference again after two weeks. My abs feel firmer and I'm losing the little fat blob I had when I fasten my jeans.
I really like this belt and definitely think its good value for money especially if you have an injury that prevents you from working out properly for a while!!
I have used the belt along with my partner about 20 times and the pads are still extremely sticky so I don't think I would need to buy replacement pads for a while either.
The belt comes with many different settings and you can change the level of intensity to suit you.
the belt is also battery operated and so makes it easy to do a half an hour session whilst doing other forms of exercise or getting in your house work or just watching tv.
I would recommend this belt to anyone! but would advise to use with a good healthy diet and some sort of cardio workout too, weather it be running or just speed walking of you have an injury just to ensure you get maximum results!!
Ive been using slendertone now for about two to three weeks, im using programme 6 high intensity, I don't go to the gym but get regular exercise in my job. this belt is the best buy ive made in a long time, already my muscles are shaping up nicely, I and my family can see a difference,
As a highly advertised, popular addition to the wondrous world if bodily beauty, I had high expectations for this tummy blasting belt. Admittedly, I was mightily disappointed.
Not only were the shocks uncomfortable (a tight and intense tingelly sensation that, when put on a high enough level, has me doubled over from the crippling contractions) but I had at least expected to see results from the damn thing.
After 3 months had passed my frustration encouraged me to research the actual power of the equipment, leading me to understand that 30 minutes of intense stomach cramps, was around about the equivalent of a couple of tiny, weightless bicep curls- no wonder it was useless.
In conclusion it is obvious that a lazy way of achieving those lean, athletic bodies is yet to be established and that for now, we all must simply turn to the repetitively proven answer of exercise.
Finally, it is important to understand that to uncover and display those washboard abs, we must burn the fat on top of them first with, you guessed it, excercise.
So don't waste your money on one of the many peices of equipment sold by slendertone and invest your money in a useful asset, like a good pair of running shoes.
After not being able to exercise for the past 18 months, my body has gotten out of shape. I am not overweight- at 5'9", 125 pounds, I am thin, but my muscles are just gone! Mostly in my stomach area. I bought one of these, and in just two weeks, I am seeing definition again in my abs! WONDERFUL!!! I have now ordered the arms and bottom toner, as I am still unable to exercise. I was attacked, brutally beaten and raped, and left for dead. This left me with a nasty head trauma that limits me severely so that exercising is out of the question. When I try to get up and exercise, it kills my head. This is a God send! Finally, I can get my body back without killing my head! I watch my diet, and get up as much as I possibly can, but unfortunately, I am pretty much a couch potato, or limited to sitting. I must say, this will NOT take care of fat, it will only tone the muscles that you already have. It is up to you to lose the weight so that you can see the work that it does to your muscles. It is not a MIRACLE worker for goodness sakes, and if you keep stuffing yourself with fatty foods, it WILL NOT work. I restrict my diet to only healthy snacks of popcorn, or fat free yogurt, celery, raw veggies and such. Sugar free hard candies are what I use instead of cookies. My meals consist of fat free chicken or turkey and lots of steamed veggies.
I've been using my Slendertone for about a month on high intensity for 30 minutes every morning. The belt fits a wide range of waist sizes, so it's a good buy if you want to share it with someone else. It's comfortable and quick to put on - you can wear it whilst going about your business if you wear loose clothes and don't mind looking a bit of a funny shape! The pads stick well to your body and don't hurt to peel off. My only ctiricism of the pads is that they can feel very cold first thing in the morning. The programs provide several different workouts and the instructions for programming the belt are clear. On the high programs the electric pulses can feel very strong and a little uncomfortable, but you can definately feel your muscles working. Battery life could be better - generally mine last around two weeks, but the display on the belt gives you plenty of warning when they need changing. Slendertone does give good results quickly and, provided you stick with it, makes it easy to fit abdominal toning into a busy lifestyle.
Hi i have been using this belt for 2 weeks now twice a day for 45 minutes programme high intensity (altogheter 90 min high intensity) and i go to the gym 6 days a week and live a very health lifestyle. i always had abs but not as visebly as now. my stomach is much harder and my abs more tone. Bu i think it will only work if you already have some abs and you move around and excersise alot. and i would recommend using the belt in the morning and evening on high intensity for 45 minute each time(in the beginning it could be a bit uncomfortable to do hight intensity , so try to increase it every time you use it untill your stomach can handle it) normally if you start on middle light for 20 minutes and then increase it till high intensity then your abs are already warmed up and should be able to handle it. For you who are disable i can only say that the belt will surely firm your stomach more so better to try it then not because i think every persons body react differently, and also depending on your disability and how much you are able to move and excersise with the belt.
Try it but please no junk food and try to move around alot go for walks or runs.
good luck and happy training
Every time i use the Slendertone belt, i feel achy pain on my right side, does any of you experience that pain ? i only put it to 30 intensity and for 20 min. I kind of worry that i might be doing something wrong. Also is it alright to wear the belt while doing aerobics ? Thanks for your feedbacks.
Recently my friends gave me her Slendertone shorts as they had become too tight on her. She is a size 14/16 and the shorts do not fit her, they only come in a size medium so she assumed they would fit her. So if you are a similar size they may not fit you, I find this strange as I would have thought medium for a get slim product would be a size 14 to 16 but these shorts fit better on a size 10 to 12. She did not return them as her aim is to get slimmer and then she will use them so therefore I am using them until she reaches her goal.
The slendertone shorts come with 6 pads, two are larger then the others, they are fitted around the shorts. They are sticky and two are on upper thighs, two on back of thighs and two on buttock. Each time before use you have to peal the covers off and fit the controller on. It requires 3 AAA batteries which have not needed to be replaced yet and I have used this product for 6 weeks averaging once a week. However I use the Slendertone for a double session. Each session is 30 mins. I do not find 30 mins enough time and I have to put the setting to a high entensity to feel like its doing anything.
This product is not cheap and overall is over £140, but I have seen it listed for £100 in places. The pads do need to be replaced which will cost roughly £20 from ebay, so it is high maintence.
Basically you put the shorts on and set the level you require and wait for the duration, you can exercise while wearing, or even lie down. However when I do some light exercises I notice a better workout. I have lost some weight around the target area of the thighs and buttocks but I am not sure whether the Slendertone contributed to it as I have been dieting also during the duration of use. I however feel this machine is more for toning then losing weight. The day after I do feel slight pain in muscles (the same type of pain after having a workout in the gym) so I do think it works but I think I would get a faster result if I actually worked out properly but for lazy days it is very good.
The first time I put it on I did feel a slight discomfort which feels like slight electric shock but I got use to the feeling quickly and now actually like the feeling, it feels better then the painful feeling you feel when actually doing toning exercises.
Slendertone should not be mistaken for a quick fix slimming product, I would say this is really for those that are fairly slim already but need an aid at times for toning. It is useful for the days I am feeling lazy or ill and want to work out with minimal effort.
you have to exercise as well for slendertone to work. i'm using this product whilst exercising and its great! ive always had trouble toning...no matter how much i exercise i can never get toned abs. ive only been using it for 3 days so far and it works wonders and compliments my exercise and work schedule.
I recently bought my slendertone product to help firm up my abdomen area and am happy to report that Iam getting some good results from using it around 5 times a week. However having read some comments on this page i have to say that i think the product is helping me because i wasnt overweight to start with and bought it purely to tone, I can see why some people would buy this as a quick fix but it will not burn fat or reduce your waist size dramatically. If you are carrying more lbs than you feel comfortable with then eat less move more is still king. Also please dont expect to look like the guy on the advert or box cover anytime this century, these people look at exercise as a religion and have been working out (hard) for many year to look like that!
Slendertone System Arms for men - I purchased this along with the Slendertone System Abs about 4 weeks go. I've been following the recommendations the instruction booklet makes- use it 3 times a week etc.... and can noticeably see a difference to the tone and shape of my upper arms.
I was a bit dubious about spending £39.99 on this product at first but I can say it is money worth spent.
The Slendertone System Arms feels strange when you first put it on - It caused tingling sensations all down my arms, but the instruction booklet states this can be normal. Its very easy to use and I normally just set it doing all the hard work on my arms whilst I watch the TV! Afterwards and especially the day after, your arms feel like they have completed a full workout!
If your looking to get toned arms without actually putting any effort in (like me because I'm too lazy!) then this is the right product for you!
The only issue I can think of is that the pads are quite costly to replace, and can loose their conductivity quite easily if they become overused.
slendertone is amazing! I love it! you see the results straight away after frequent contstant use! I have been doing 40 mins a day, twice a day on high intensity! I can see a different me in the mirror. All be it i wasnt big to start with, but i have gone from a 34" waist size to my comfortable 32" and now looking down whilst im wearing shorts, i look like i have spent months.years at the gym! 10/10 for slendertone! love it!!!!
I love this this belt. in fact its right up there with the rabbit. It works. Use it properly, enjoy the results. It's a no brainer, stop eating crap, move a little more, and use slendertone as PART of your new lifestyle and not as lazy miricle cure. lets be Honest here, 20 minutes walking, ditch the take aways, use the belt, while your walking, and you wont recognise yourself. Its addictive, and the only side effect, is the jeans that you wont have to lie on the bed to get into into. Here's the finance bit. Your local pool and gym facillities will cost on average £6 quid a throw multiply that by 3 visits a week, then multiply by 4, plus parking, your snazzy gym membership will cost the same, if not cost more. Like I said its a no brainer. Slendertone, Cheap as low fat chips.
After seeing many TV ads for the Slendertone System Abs for Women, I decided to take the plunge and buy one for me and the male version for my partner. Both of us go to the gym regularly (ok, he goes regularly, I try to!) and we were under no illusion of being able to lose weight with the Slendertone; this will not make you lose weight, it will only tone up your muscles so of course you will have to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle and do some exercise to see the maximum results!
The Slendertone uses electric impulses to stimulate the muscles via gel pads to make your stomach muscles contract and boy does it work! I wasn't sure what to expect at first, feeling worried that it might hurt, but it feels fine and it feels like it is working which is the main thing! The gel pads are attached onto the belt which fits comfortably around your waist and there are different positions to place the pads for different sized people. The belt is controlled by the Slendertone controller which plugs into a small socket on the belt and there is a handy pocket to store it in while in use. The controller can be used with either the male or female system so we only have one controller - was cheaper to by one system complete with belt and controller and one without. (Shop around to find the best price, there are lots of websites which sell much cheaper than the Slendertone website itself!). The gel pads will last for about 20-30 uses and spare ones can be purchased online. There are often deals such as buy one pack get one free for replacement pads so look out for those!
The controller allows you to change the strength of the contraction from 0 to 99. On first using the belt, I got up to 35 comfortably but can now do 99 after having used it for 4 weeks, hardcore!! There are also 7 different programs of varying length in time and each having their own warm up, main workout and cool down. Number 6 is the best, I feel. I won't ruin the surprise by telling you why, you've just got to try it, it's great! As for the other programs, they only seem to differ in the length and intensity of each contraction.
After using the Slendertone for just 20 minutes a day for three or four days, I noticed straight away that my obliques were firmer to the touch and after having used it for 6 weeks, and having taken measurements of my waist, I have noticed a loss of 3 inches, which I was quite happy with!
One great thing about the Slendertone is that you can wear it while doing other jobs around the house, such as washing up, ironing, cleaning, etc. so it doesn't require any time taken out of a busy routine at home. You could wear it at work but if you don't want people to notice it, probably best keep it at home! The only difficulty is bending down to pick something up when your stomach muscles are contracting so strongly! Also, take care when you put the belt on that it doesn't sit on your hip bones as this makes your leg vibrate with each contraction, a bit of a weird sensation.
When you first use it, watch as your stomach muscles contract, it's amazing to see how your muscles move and how it gets to your lower abs, an area notoriously difficult to combat with sit ups!
I have been very pleased with my Slendertone and will continue to use it, along with a healthy exercise regime, remember that it will not make you lose weight, it will tone up your abdominal muscles. Go for it, you won't regret it!
FYI Please before you think of posting that anyone who would want to use this product is just fat or lazy or both, remember that there are people like me out here that are disabled with diseases such as mine which is Muscular Dystrophy and can't even sit up for more then a few minutes. I would love to be able to do sit-ups or run unfortunately that's just not an option, so I have to just pray that devices like this will and can work. Just needed to vent after being called lazy for wanting to try this product......
