      A good quality hair brush

Review of the Head Jog Paddle hairbrush Hairbrushes and I have a love hate relationship I'm afraid. I have waist length, unruly, wavy hair which tangles at the drop of a hat. Although my hair is quite thick in that I have a lot of it, the actual individual hairs are very fine. Over the years I have tried many different types of brush with varying rates of success. This Head Jog paddle brush is one of my better experiments! **The Hair Brush** Paddle brushes have been around for decades and are ideal for most types of hair. My Head Jog brush is a fairly basic design, a rectangular, paddle shaped, slightly domed brush bed set on an ergonomically designed handle for easy grip & maximum control. The bristle bed is fairly broad and you can cover quite a bit of hair with each brushstroke. My brush is black in colour and cost me around £5 from a local independent chemist shop. I believe these brushes also come in a variety of different colours. The blurb on the packaging of my brush states that the brush is 'Edged with ceramic to create a smooth polished effect with added natural shine and aid against static build-up'. I cannot honestly say that I have noticed any great difference in the shininess or smoothness of my hair since starting to use this brush, but the static I often experience certainly does seem a little reduced. What does impress me about the hair brush is the fact that it detangles my hair quickly and easily with very little tugging or discomfort. For me that is a real bonus! I do not blow dry my hair; I simply shampoo and allow it to dry naturally. My daughter tells me that this style of brush is excellent for adding volume to your hair when blow drying, but this is something I really wish to avoid, extra volume that it, I have more than enough of that, thank you very much! So whilst I will have to take her word on the subject, I felt it worth mentioning this as I know many people do blow dry. **My Thoughts and Conclusion** I am very pleased with my brush, the paddle design cuts through tangled hair effectively and quickly, the brush is comfortable to hold and it is not too heavy, an issue I have had with other makes in the past. I don't feel that aesthetically this is particularly cutting edge styling, but to be honest, in a hair brush, who really cares about looks, efficiency is the main concern to my mind. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, effective hair brush, I would recommend the Head Jog (pronounced Hedgehog) paddle brush, the name makes me smile, and the brush works well doing exactly what I expect of a hair brush. These brushes are available on line and from various High Street stores and hairdressing salon chains. Thank you for reading. ©brittle1906 January 2013 N.B. good all round paddle brush

Fancy treating the scalp to something special, then why not give one of the Head Jog brushes a whirl. I treid one a while back and love it! The name is quite clever too I think! Hedgehog...Head Jog, get it? Available online, these brushes come in a range of shapes and sizes, but this is the review for the Paddle Brush. Measuring about eight or so inches in legth, the brush is an ideal size for all hair types, though it has to be side, this is going to work better if you have nice long locks. Mine is mid length, but I use different brushes for different purposes. The paddle brush plumps up the hair from deep down at the root and injects a certain degree of volume in the hair when you blow dry. I tend to use it towards the end of a blow dry for styling and getting that smooth look into the hair. The massaging spikes on it feel wonderful and help stimulate the scalp as they gently brush. You can use it as a regular brush, but due to the wider nature, this is going to help work the whole head. I also use it to quickly get rid of hairspray at the end of a busy day, a couple of strokes through the hair and it removes traces effortlessly. The brush is lightweight and easy to keep clean, making it ideal for all the family. The whole Head Jog range has been designed with one eye on a fair price and another on style, so you get a decent brush, well made from plastic, with a price tag of about four pounds, which is very good value. It will last ages and will also make blowdrying quicker and help in day to day styling. A must have brush for the fashion savvy.

A great hairbrush that I wouldnt be without

Since I learnt the art of straightening my hair, I have always been a big fan of paddle brushes, and I have tried many a different one over the years, but I have finally come to settle down with a firm favorite which I found only last year. Head Jog do a wide range of hair products, mostly for use in salons, but you can buy their products in some high street stores, and also in Sally Salon Services (Sally's) which is where I found my hair brush, and where I get most of my hair products these days. The Head Jog paddle brush is black, shiny and has a padded backing to the brush head itself, so you don't feel like you are running a harsh brush through your hair. I found that it runs through my hair smoothly, and it is great for holding larger sections of my hair when I blow dry. It is also a lot easier to brush my hair with this brush than it is with many other paddle brushes I have used, and it just feels so much smoother to use. The bristles on the brush are all covered in a smooth coating, with spherical ends on each one, to avoid ripping the hair and scalp. The brush is lightweight and easy to use without feeling like you have a brick in your hand. The brush has the words Head Jog 01 printed on the handle. This brush is very sturdy, I have accidently dropped it many times and often carry it round in my hand bag, and it still looks brand new, although I have had it almost a year now, and hopefully for a long time to come. You can buy this brush in Sallys, for around £8 or if you have a Sallys Trade Card like I do, you can buy it for £5 plus VAT. You can also buy this brush online if you look around, and it also comes in a nice light pink color, but I have only seen this online, not in any stores. I recommend this brush, especially if you blow dry and/ or straighten your hair a lot, as it really does help with styling and smoothing of the hair, and it is a very sturdy hair brush for a very reasonable price.
