A great exfoliator and highly recommended

I recently bought myself a small tub of Soap and Glory's Flake Away body scrub to target the tops of my thighs and around my hips. They're not really problematic areas, but they don't feel all that smooth and I wanted to see if it would make a difference. I was prompted to buy it after starting to wear shorts in the hot weather as they were putting my legs on show more than usual! I only bought the small travel sized tub costing £2.50 in Boots holding 50ml of scrub but there is also a larger tub of flake away scrub costing £7.50 for 300ml too. That seemed expensive for something I was just going to give a go, so I went for the smaller version and I was impressed that I had the choice to trial it with a cheaper pot first. Boots currently have a 3 for 2 offer on a lot of their Soap and Glory products.

The scrub comes in a small pink tub with a screw lid - I would have preferred a squeezy tube for application just because the screw lid can be a bit fiddly to undo in the shower with wet hands - I've got into the habit of undoing it beforehand now and leaving it on the side. The scrub is a weird medium grey colour and not what I originally expected when I first opened the tub - I expected it to be a nice girly colour or at least a white or cream colour but I found this to be a bit off putting! It comes with the usual original pink Soap and Glory scent that most of their products have - a very refreshing scent and one that I personally really like although I do sometimes find it a bit overpowering - with this scrub though it seems to be just right. The scent contains bergamot and mandarin as well as musk, oakmoss and amber. The scrub itself contains Shea butter, sugar and peach seed.

To apply, I dip my fingers in getting a small amount - I'd say around a pea size - then apply in a circular motion on damp skin across the tops of my legs until the grains disappear. After that, I rinse my legs really well until the residue has disappeared. I find that the grains in this scrub are very fine, so it's easy to rub in quickly and wash off quickly too. The actual scrub feels quite thick in the hands though - almost like a gel. I apply it in the shower after using normal shower gel. I find that I don't need very much (around 3 pea sized amounts over each thigh and around the hip) so my small tub has been on the go for over three weeks now using it every other day and I've only used around a third of it so far. I was unsure at the time of purchasing, but I now feel that the larger tub for £7.50 represents good value as I think it would last me at least a couple of months based on my use.

After using it over the three weeks, I've definitely noticed some improvement on the top of my legs - they feel smoother and it has helped in exfoliating the areas too, removing dead skin effectively. I noticed the smoother feel after the first use, which really impressed me. They feel softer and I feel more confident wearing my shorts as the surface of my skin looks more even. I wouldn't say it's worked miracles, but it's definitely made a difference and having tried other (some being more expensive) creams and scrubs in the past and in that area on my legs, I definitely feel that this has given one of the best results I've seen and within a short space of time too. Along with it being easy and quick to use, I rate it 4 dooyoo stars overall - just taking one off for the lack of an even easier squeezy tube to help in the application.

      Thanks for reading :o)

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

a great product to get your legs in top shape for summer!

I love soap and glory products and this one is no different. I have a lot of trouble with dry skin so thought this body scrub sounded perfect.

I bought this from my local boots store. It comes in the usual pink packaging and the funky design. The scrub comes in a tub which has 300ml of the product in. I paid just less than £7 for it so its about average price for a body scrub. The best thing about getting it from boots is you also get advantage points and if you buy it when its on offer you can get 3 for 2.

The product claims to smooth skin and remove dead skin cells. It has shea butter and almond oil in there and also sea salt and sugar (which provides the exfoliation). My knees and elbows are always really dry so I was interested to see what it would do for these.

Its really easy to use you can do it in the shower or the bath it is easy to use. The tub is nice and wide so it is easy to get your whole hand in and grab a lot of the product in one go. You can feel the grains in the body polish you just apply it to your wet skin and rub it up and down. It does feel quite harsh on your skin but it feels good as if you are getting rid of all the bad stuff from your skin. You then just have to rinse the product off. When I dried my legs and arms my skin felt unbelievably soft and smooth it also felt as if it had had a moisturizer applied to it..

I love the smell it is the same as all soap and glory products its gorgeous and like the other products it stays around for ages after so you smell good for a long time!!

My legs and arms look amazing, the hard skin on my knees and elbows has gone much softer and my legs look in great condition. I would recommend everyone to have some of this its especially good to use before you apply fake tan or before you go on your holidays so your skin gets in great condition.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

a lovely high quality body scrub

As part of a Christmas present I was given some Soap and Glory bits, I have already written about my experience of the body butter and now I have tried to Flake Away so am going to write about that.

The scrub comes in a little pink screw lid tub, it seems high quality and sturdy, but with a simple design, I would say it is premium looking but without a sky high price tag. As I did not buy this myself I looked up the price and found that in Boots it is £7 for a 300ml tub and is on offer in the 3 for 2 deal at the moment. My own tub is from the travel size range, contains 50ml and costs £2.50, this is also in the 3 for 2 deal at the moment.

The simple design of the tub consists of a label on the top with the Soap and Glory lettering and there is writing around the lid instructing how to use it, on the side it simply says Flake Away, shea butter, sugar and peach seed body polish. The bottom of the tub has a label advertising the ingredients and the fact that it should be used within 24 months of opening.

The lid is easy to twist off and a nice scent greeted me as soon as I did - i recognised the scent from the body butter I have used. It is sweet but not overly so and musky, I am not sure I would attribute peach to it but it is kind of fruity and floral. I would say the scent is stronger in the scrub than it is in the body butter.

The scrub is a dark mustard colour and is very thick, I quite like the consistency, often I have found scrubs are either too runny or have too much sugar and are hard to get out of the tub and too scratchy on the skin. This scrub scoops out easily and when mixed with a little water lathers up nicely into a creamy exfoliating lather.

I could feel the sugar working on my skin, but it was not too rough, it was a nice and gentle and the scent filled the shower. The sugar seemed to disolve quite well my skin had a strange feel to it. At forst I was not sure if I liked it, it felt a little cloggy. However once I had gotten out of the shower and dried myself off with a towel I found it felt much better and my skin felt really soft and moisturized. I also felt my skin was nicely exfloiated and felt refreshed.

The scent lingered on my skin for hours after using the scrub, it was quite subtle but you could tell it was there, and I also felt nice and soft for a long time after use. I do not think you need to use a moisturizer if you use this scrub, I like to moisturize twice per day but found using this I only need to do it once.

I love this scrub and despite it being a tab on the expensive side, I do not think it it too bad really because my little tub has lasted me about 6 washes, so the 300ml for £7 is pretty good value especially if you can get it on offer. I think this will be winging its way into my shopping basket again!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Another great product from a fab range

        =Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub=

I love Soap and Glory Range, especially at Christmas time, as they do a lovely gift set, which becomes one of Boots offers of the week, generally the last promotion, so I have 2 sets a years to keep me going.

        =Soap and Glory Flake away=
This was on one of the gift sets, although it can be purchased in-store or online at Boots, the large tub 300ml, priced at around £7, and the smaller travel size 50ml at £2.50.

        =Shower=
Flake Away id a body scrub, it is more pratical to apply when you are in the shower, which is good for me as I don't have a bath in the house!

        =To Use=
Once you open the tub, the first thing that i noticed was this was a very grainy look and it also felt grainy. You massage it into damp skin, and when all the grains have disappeared into the skin, once that has been done you rinse away.

        =Scent=
To me there wasn't a strong scent to the product, it had what I call the Soap and Glory style, which is fruity scent, yet slightly floral.

        =Feel=
My skin certainly felt a lot softer after using this flake away, I felt that it did a really good job of softening my skin.

        =Once a week/fortnightly=
I usually aim to use this once a week during the cold weather, as I find it stimulates the circulation and also with the central heating being on, it dries my skin, whilst in summer, my skin is less dry, but I don't like to go more than a fortnight without having a flake away.

        =Follow=
I like to follow up with the Soap and Glory body butter as it gives my skin some extra pampering.

        =Value For money=
I really feel that this is value for money, when you buy the larger tubs, and a little does go a long way.

        =Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this brand, for me it is on par with the quality of the Body Shop range.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

The best body scrub I have used!

Soap & Glory Flake away is another product I received in my big Soap & Glory gift set at Christmas a couple of years ago. By itself it is priced at £7.00 for 300ml. It is also available in a smaller travel size of 50ml for £2.50, however it is better value for money if you buy the larger tub. This is available from Boots.

Flake Away is a body scrub that you use when in the bath or shower. It has a grainy feel too it and so you massage this into damp skin until all of the grains are gone. You really need to scrub this into your skin for sometime and quite hard to get rid of all the grains. I prefer to apply this when in the shower rather than in the bath as the grains won't go away when you are in the bath and so I end up with bits stuck on my skin still when I get out. If applying in the shower they get washed away easily though.

The scent of this body scrub is the typical Soap & Glory scent that is in most of their products, it is a very girly scent that has aromas of leafy greens, bergamot and mandarin, with floral and fruity middle notes, and lastly musk, oakmoss, amber and woody notes. I think the floral scent is the most powerful in this body scrub.

I like to apply the Soap & Glory body butter after using the scrub as the scent is more powerful and lingers on your skin even more then.

I love the feel of my skin after using Flake Away. It is very soft and smooth and I would use this all of the time if it didn't do such a good job at removing my fake tan! It is a great product to use if you want to remove your fake tan or if you have made any mistakes when applying it, scrubbing this into the area where you want it removed usually works for me. However, when I want my fake tan to stay on I tend to avoid using this body scrub.

As I don't use this product everyday the 300ml tub is lasting me some time, I think it has been sitting in my bathroom for around a year now! However, it would go quickly if I did use it on my skin everyday, as I love the results I tend to use a lot of it when I do use it. This body scrub gets 5 stars from me, the results are really worth the price!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Great product, one of my favourite that I'll definitely buy again and again!

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub I bought together with another two S&G products (see my other reviews!) and first of all I liked in it was its GEORGEOUS SMELL! It's not as sweet as many other bath/shower product from S&G and it's good because I like to have a bit of change sometimes, not always the same smells in my shower:) This scrub smell like a nice, delicate perfumes and what's great it stays on your skin for a very long time! I always use it when I want to pamper myself and when I go out or meet friends.
I use it all over my body and massage delicately until some of the bits (i. a. salt) melts and than I rinse it thoroughly. My skin is very smooth and soft after and it 'drinks' body moisturiser. What's more I love that it lasts for long! I bought it about 4 months ago and still have a half of container! Obviously it depends how often you use it but it's really efficient, you don't need much to cover whole body.
A tub is standard, like many similar products' packaging. It's easy and comfortable to use, and to keep it clean I always dry it after shower and store it on a shelf, away from the shower basin.
Overall I would recommend this product to everybody! Every time I use it I think who else I could tell about it and recommend;)

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

nothing exfoliating about this body scrub

I recieved this as part of a gift set last christmas but have only just got round to using it, I am normally a big fan of Soap & Glory, although there have been a few products that I have not entirely enjoyed using - and unfortunatly this is one of them.

It normally retails for around £7 for a 300ml tub, and is exclusive to Boots so can only be purchased from Boots stores of Boots.com - there is often a 3 for 2 offer on Boots bath and shower products though so look out for those offers!

The scrub comes in the trademark bright pink retro packaging - this particular product comes in a big tub with a screw off lid. This is my first gripe with this product - its packaging. Other body scrubs I have used by Soap & Glory have come in a big squeezy bottle which have been perfect and easy to use, but a tub just makes things a bit harder. I find trying to hold the tub, unscrew it, scoop some out and put the lid back on whilst stood in the shower can be quite difficult. If I place the container on the side once I have taken the lid off to scoop some out I find water runs down my arm and hands into the container and waters down the scrub inside. When I got down to the last of the scrub it was difficult to get it all own aswell - so overall I am not a big an of the packaging for this one.

Using the scrub itself I also wasnt too impressed. It is quite thick when you first get it out the tube but as soon as it touches my wet skin it seems to water down fairly quickly and just dissolves and dissapears before much scrubbing has been done, because of this it doesnt really have chance to exfoliate my skin. Other Soap & Glory body scrubs I have used have plenty of grainy bits to exfoliate and also foam up and spread out to get much better coverage. This one however just doesnt go very far and doesnt really exfoliate my skin, I was looking forward to using it on my elbows, knees and feet but it didnt seem to have any effect at all.

Overall I definitely wouldnt recommend this, nor will I be purchasing any more of it. It isnt packaged very well, doesnt really exfoliate or scrub my skin - and so therefore doesnt leave it feeling any softer or smoother. Other similar products in the Soap & Glory range are much more effective and do a much better job. So - dont buy it, its just not worth parting with your pennies for!

            top body scrub

About a week ago I recieved £3 in luncheon vouchers from PineCone Research for doing a quick survey for them. Being honest I was a bit dissapointed by the choice in shops I could spend the vouchers on as they were all places that sold food ie. McDonalds KFC... ect - I am not a great lover of fast food / eating out... However the most appealing shop on the list was Boots - even though I'll hold my hand up and say I have not set foot in one of their stores in years. I went in last week for a browse at what I could spend these otherwise useless vouchers on. I came across a display for Soap & Glory products - which over the last few months I have been reading positive reviews about on DooYoo. I happened to need a new body scrub and found their Flake Away tubs - and put my vouchers towards a pot.

Soap & Glory are a relatively new brand name in the world of H&B products and have been around since 2006 but have only really taken off in my opinion over the last 12 months. Soap & Glory are suitable for most people as they stress that they do not test on animals at all (although their packaging does not state this, information can be found on the issue on their website) and most of their range is suitable for vegetarians and vegans - the only issue you may have is possible allergies to ingredients and if you have any worries about this check the packaging before purchase. The company was started in the UK and all products are also produced here - at present Soap & Glory is exclusive only to the UK. Their products can be located in most Boots stores.

To an outsider who has never experianced / heard about Soap & Glory products before you would be initially attracted to the packaging in a store - the style is very retro and the pastel colours really catch your eye. Being fair they are not the cheapest body care products so I was about to see what all the hype was about.

            **********

The FLAKE AWAY body scrub pot is quite interesting to say the least... like the rest of the range, as previously mentioned has a retro / pastel coloured theme going on. The tub itself is a pastel pink colour made out of hard plastic and has a clouded matching pink twist top - the colour on this matchs the tub.

When you look down on the tub from the top, on the twist top there is a circular black and white image of a womans legs with the following statements :

"IT MIGHT BE FINE IF HER FRIENDS ARE FLAKY BUT A LADYS LEGS SHOULD NEVER BE"

" TRANSFORM YOUR SCALY LEGS FROM REPTILIAN TO RADIANT!"

To me this kind of marketing is very different, eyecatching and you can tell its British!

The "front" label tells you the product and product producers names - it also gives you the information that the scrub is made from shea butter, sugar and peach seed with skin smoothing sea salt, grapeseed and almond oils.

            * Shea butter is extracted from nuts and has been used for many years because of its ability to improve poor skin conditions!

            * Sugar is now being used in many body scrubs because of its ability to leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed - even if it doesn't do us any favours to eat anything sugary!

            * Peach ingredients are great for skin in general and is scientifically proven to improve skin appearance!

The "back" label gives you all the information you need in order to apply the scrub. It advises you to take a handful of product (although to me this seems a bit such - I scooped just a little using my finger tips, not a handful) , you then apply to damp skin and massage in using circular motions until most of the scrub grains are gone. You then just need to rinse off, pat dryand apply body glossing oil or moisture butter. They also warn that you are to avoid over damaged skin otherwise it may sting.

Further information given are the ingredients, address and website of the company and you are also given a shelf life of 24 months which I think is excellent compared to other brands. The total tub contents on the one I have purchased is 300ml.

            **********

The scrub itself is beige in colour and when you look closely you can see tiny orange coloured beads. Unlike a lot of "hard" scrubs you get this one is almost like a paste and not digusting or uncomfortable to handle like many other brands in my opinion. First impression on the scent I would describe as very slightly fruity, clean and fresh.

            **********

What do I think? Glorious or not?!

I don't have flaky skin as such I would desribe it as normal and sometimes a little bit dry so with this product I was hoping to see a little bit of a difference but at the same time not expecting too much as there is no "flake" as such to get rid of!

I apply a tinted tan moisturiser everyday so what I really wanted to see was a better colour after I exfoliated with this scrub. To date I have used this twice now and I will recap on both experiences. The best bit of this scrub is how well my colour is now showing after getting rid of all the dead skin cells it looks much better than with other body scrubs I have used!

As desribed on the packaging you are supposed to use a "handful" however I would recommend you just scoop up using your fingertips and by doing this on both applications I found I had only used a slight layer of the paste for my legs, arms and torso - so in my opinion if you use the scrub this way it has the potencial to last a couple of months if you use it a few times a week.

On application, the beads do absorb very easily and doesnt feel uncomfortable on the skin in the slightest. In fact its a really nice scrub to use. I did notice before applying to my body that the palms of my hands were very dry and had peeling skin and after making the ciruclar motions with them applying to the rest of my body it appeared to have sorted out my dry skin problem on my hand - and the rest of my body was very VERY smooth after it had been washed off. In fact, strangely I kept touching my arms to check it again as I was so impressed with the result!

The scent of the product does fade on the skin over a few hours after use as you would expect - it no longer smells fruity it just smells pleasant and clean.

Literally the only thing that has really annoyed me about this scrub is the fact of how itchy I am for a good few hours after use - my skin is not sensitive in the slightest and I have ensured all the product has been washed off properly. Since I have only used this twice now it could just be me getting used to the scrub... considering how the tub highlights all the natural ingredients used... however the back label does mention a few ingredients which look like chemicals I suspect... This could be whats causing my irratation.

Being truthful this is probably the best body scrub I have ever had - the nicest smelling, best exfoliating and a little goes a long way. I would give it full marks if it wasn't for the itchiness!

            **********

At the time of writing this review you can buy a 300ml tub from Boots at £7 and there is currently a 3 for 2 offer on.

              Best Body Buffer

This is my new favourite body scrub and it just happens to be from my favourite brand! I am a huge fan of Soap & Glory!

This miracle body exfoliant is just amazing, it does exactly what it says on the pot and is excellent value for money as it lasts for ages! And I do tend to overdo it at times! :)

The product itself has a lovely sugary texture to it which is very pleasant and is not too gritty like some body scubs can be. It is a beige/brown colour and smells absolutley devine. It has quite a fruity scent to it which lasts on your body for ages after use.

You only need a small amount, I tend to put about a hazlenut sized amount into the palm of my hand and rub it in circular motions across the whole surface of my body. It seems to melt into the skin as well as scrubbing away dryness and dirt leaving skin completely smooth, buffed and polished.

Skin is radiant after use looking and feeling smoother. I suffer from dryness and roughness of my upper arms and this completely removes, smooths and rejuvinates my skin leaving it fresh and pampered.

I would recommend this product to any fellow Soap & Glory fans who suffer from dry skin. However anybody could use this product and feel the benefits.

              Really great scrub!

I loooove Soap and glory products, I'm in love with the girly packaging and fun names have. I tried a few of their products a few years ago that I received in one of the many gift sets that Boots have at Christmas. Many of them included a small pot of flake away. I manly used this if I needed to travel anywhere but loved the feeling and smell it left on my skin so I purchased a large pot.

The only problem I have is the pot is a large screw top, which is good for getting all the product so no wastage but in the bathroom it can often get wet and this stays in the pot making the scrub gloopy. However the scrub is too thick to be packaged in a squeeze bottle.

The scrub itself is very scrubby and full of small beads (sugars and salts i think) it feels and looks like damp sand but thicker. It is the most scrubbiest scrub I've ever used because most body scrubs seem to be shower gel with beads mixed in, so it's great for people like me who love harsh scrubs for a really strong clean. My legs feel extra soft and smooth after use because it also contains Body Butter, and the effect lasts for a few days too so I don't need to use the scrub everyday meaning it will last for ages!

Flake Away is expensive but I think it's worth the price because you do get a lot of the product and it lasts a long time. I don't recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin though as it may be a bit too harsh, or maybe use it just on knees, elbows and feet.

              Just what your skin ordered

Soap and Glory regularly get exceelent reviews for just about all their products. This compelled me to try a producr and being as I wanted an exfoliating product I chose to give this a whirl. I'm so glad I did and I will definitely be trying more Soap and Glory products at some point.
I first decided to get this prpduct in a 50ml tub as a tester. My first impressions were great. It smells divine and the appearance is striking. When you put it on in the shower it isn't too rough like some but you still notoce it working. To get best results its advisable to spend some time rubbing it in but even a quick dash will make your skin feel great. When you wash the prodictboff you notice the smoothness of your skin but it doesn't strike you until you get out. My skin feels amazing after use, very smooth and it looks shiny. After my shower I use Palmers cocoa butter to give it extra shine and smooth my skin more so as well as to tone it. Also despite Soap and Glory having a seperate peoduct for the face I feel you can use this on your face as it isnnot too harsh on the skin though the facial product maybe better, I havent tried it.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Highly recommended

Winter is my favourite season; however this season isn't so kind to my skin. My skin becomes very dry and flaky especially my legs, which are always dry and flaky; however they become increasingly dry and flaky not to mention the white dead skin all over my black leggings which certainly does not look good. My legs may look good from a distance however when you look closer they are hardly as attractive which is why I love the winter. I can hide my legs.

I try to hide this problem by using good quality body oil to give them a bit of shine and a fake "healthy" look but sometimes body oil irritates my skin and they feel unpleasantly oily. Applying body butter is a temporary solution too and it lasts for a few hours but doesn't solve the problem.

              == My finding ==

I like to buy most of my beauty products from boots using my Boots vouchers that I earn through survey sites and I earn advantage points at the same time. I am usually not a big fan of Soap and Glory; however, finding a 3 for 2 offer was very temping so I bought a few things from their range to try out and one of them was Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub hoping that it might solve my problem for once and all!

              == The product ==

All Soap and Glory products have a pink colour with their black and white retro look and it was now different here. I opened the pot to discover the content of the pot. I was surprised to see how thick it was unlike some body scrubs which have a creamy texture or gel based texture. Soap and Glory Flake away has a paste-like consistency where you have to lift it instead of pouring it.

The smell was amazing, it wasn't overpowering but it was very pleasant. The first thing I noticed about it was the smell of sweet peach and almonds which is an exquisite combination. As for the look, the mixture looked very gritty because the scrub contains grape seeds, peach seeds, sea salt and sugar granules making it very coarse. I have to add that the mixture looks and feels oily due to the fact that it has almond oil in it, so I was looking forward to try it out on my dry legs.

              == Their claim ==

Soap and Glory has a funny way to market their products by using unusual names and lines. Their claim states "Transforming your scally legs from reptilian to radiant!" Quite a silly claim really and quite an insensitive one too but it makes me more eager to try it and see for myself the big transformation as my legs are need that special glow!

== How was my experience and my opinion ==

I have used so many different body scrubs in the past but I never came across a 2 in 1 (body scrub and a body polish) at the same time so for me this one was a new experience. According to their instructions, you should apply the mixture into damp skin. It is advised to use it after a shower when your skin is clean, damp and ready to absorb any kind of moister.

It's a body scrub so it's suitable for all body parts but I wanted to try it on the driest parts of my body which are my legs, that is including my knees too.

It was very easy to use. I applied a small amount of Flake away body scrub to my damp skin and started to massage it gently in circular motion until most of the grains dissolved. Again they said I need to use a handful which I thought was quite a lot really so I used 2 walnut sizes for both my legs.

As I was massaging the mixture into my skin, it formed a nice soft lather that gradually started to disappear. Applying and massaging the body scrub wasn't that hard and unlike some body scrubs, it wasn't messy at all. The grains were slightly coarse but it didn't irritate my skin and it didn't take much time scrubbing it into my skin and I already felt the effects. The smell was lovely and my skin felt softer even though I didn't rinse it yet.

Rinsing it was fairly easy and it didn't take much time or effort what so ever.

              == The results ==

I was astonished and I couldn't believe that my legs were finally soft and radiant. The almond oil left a thin film all over my legs leaving them shiny, extremely soft and lightly oiled. My skin was never this soft or radiant and it lasted until next day unlike some other brands.

The body scrub was so gentle on my skin that it didn't irritate or sting my skin and the smell lasted too. I've been using it for several months now and I never had any issues with the product before, during or after use.

== Where to buy Soap and Glory Flake Away and how much it costs? ==

Soap and Glory products can be purchased from Boots stores or from their website. Flake Away body scrub comes in two different sizes , the full size 300ml pot for £6.50 and the 50 ml travel size pot for £2.25 but I highly recommend buying the full size pot because it would work out a lot cheaper.

== My final thoughts, where they up to their claim? ==

YES and more! I can't fault the product as what it was claimed to do. The results were impressive, my skin was extremely soft and velvety and it had a natural and healthy glow that lasted throughout the whole day. The best thing about it was scent which lasted a long time as well.

I only use a tiny amount each time so the small tube lasted me for ages even with every day usage.

== To recommend or not to recommend? ==

Finally, a product that really works! I have very dry skin and I thought that no product would cure it; however, after using Soap and Glory Flake away, I can show my legs proudly and feeling absolutely confident :)

Soap and Glory Flake Away - Scrub Your Way to Perfect Skin!

Soap and Glory have fast become one of my favourite brands for beauty care. With their gorgeous retro packaging, all pink and girly with its humourous little quotes they are right up my street. Their products are just fantastic as well. I don't think I have ever had a bad experience with anything from their range of beauty products.

If you asked me what my favourite bathing product of all time is, I would have to answer that it is Soap and Glory's Flake Away! As of this current moment I have four tubs, (yes four!) of this wonderful product sat in my bathroom. I have gotten through countless other tubs of Flake Away since I first discovered it. That is how much I love it!

Flake away is a tub of the most glorious and luxurious body scrub. Its main ingredients include shea butter, sweet almond oil, peach seed powder, sea salt and sugar. It comes in a 300ml tub. The tub is in the usual Soap and Glory style. Lovely, pink, retro and girly, with the quote "It might be fine if her friends are flakey but a Lady's legs should never be!"

An individual tub of Flake Away costs £6.64 at the moment from Boots, however Soap and Glory are almost always on three for two offer in Boots so you are more then likely to pick it up alot cheaper. I always buy it when it is on offer and stock up with loads of this lovely stuff! One of the tubs lasts for quite a long time as well. They certainly give you a generous amount of the product for the price. I find this alot with Soap and Glory in general.

As body scrubs go, Flake Away is quite a heavy duty scrub. What I mean by this is that the grains in it are rather large, obviously due to the fact that it contains sugar, so it does give you rather a vigorous scrub. I really like this, I feel like it is really getting my circulation going and buffing away all the nasties from my skin until it is smooth perfection.

What is particularly great about Flake Away is that it is a two in one product. It is higly moisturising. It is basically body butter with exfoliating properties. When you use it, you can feel the buttery texture of it. So if like me, you are a person who cannot be bothered to moisturise everytime you get out of the shower, this product is definately for you. You would not believe how soft and moisturised it leaves your skin feeling.

You just scoop up a handful and scrub it all over your body until most of the grains of sugar feel like they have disolved somewhat. Then give yourself a really good rinse (as the grains do tend to stick in certain places!) and by the time you have rinsed all grains away and patted yourself dry you will be wonderfully smooth and moisturised.

I have found that Flake Away is an absolutely fabulous product to use before you fake tan. It leaves your skin in the perfect condition for applying the tan afterwards. You end up streak free, with no horrible build up in the usual areas like your knees or ankles.

The final reason why I just keep coming back to Flake Away again and again is the smell. As with all of Soap and Glory's products, it smells absolutely divine. It is quite difficult to describe. Obviously it has the undertones of peach in there, but it is so much more then this. It smells absolutely gorgeous!

Overall I give Soap and Glory's Flake Away a 10/10. I highly recommend it. It is the most fantastic body scrub I have ever tried. It leaves your skin in absolutely flawless condition and smelling heavenly. It is a lovely time saving two in one product and is a really great price!

If You Want A Decent S&G Body Scrub - Try Pulp Friction!

As many of you will know I have a slight addiction to anything beauty related - and I love trying out new products from my favourite ranges. Now my family knowing this always buy me a few gift sets at Christmas and I'm always 99% sure that at least one of them will be from Soap & Glory. This year I was very lucky because I got 2 sets both of which had quite a few products in them that I'd never used before and therefore couldn't wait to try out and of course review for you lot! In the smaller set I got for Christmas there was this 'Soap & Glory Flake Away' which was one I'd never heard of before and couldn't wait to try out. But because Id got an exfoliating scrub in another set Id received I didn't get around to trying this one out until a couple of weeks ago - I think this is the first S&G product I've been slightly disappointed by - but I think that's because I'm comparing it to another of their scrubs rather than taking it on its own merit, you'll have to make up your own minds there!

                Useful Information:
                Price: £6.64 - 300ml tub.
Stockists: Both Boots stores and their online site stock this brand/product. This one is also available on ASOS & Amazon.
Other Info: Promises to banish dry skin & leave it feeling moisturised and much softer -although applying extra lotion afterwards is recommended. This S&G product is NOT tested on animals which I know will be a great bonus for some people .

The packaging for this scrub is one thing I'm not sure about - some things about it I really like and others I have huge problems with! The design of the packaging I adore because its bright pink and very fitting with the S&G brand - it's very retro and cute and will certainly attract most girly girls attentions when they are browsing through Boots - probably not one for the blokes though!! On the top and bottom of the tub is all the information you would expect to find - ingredients, directions for use, shelf life (24M) etc and there is also an address and a website printed on there that you can write to should you have more questions/queries about the product. Now colour and design wise I love this but I have to say it's not very practical. As it is in a tub instead of a tube I think this is much harder to use - when I use this I always find the water from the shower drips into the tub which dilutes the scrub in my opinion and I think because the scrub is so thick it's much harder to get out of a tub rather than a tube. Looks wise I love the packaging but it's not as practical as other scrubs I've used - S&G's other body scrub (Pulp Friction) wins hands down packaging wise for me!

Using this scrub is pretty simple in my experience - just get a handful onto your hands, apply to damp skin going in circles until the grains have almost disappeared and then rinse off - like I said very easy. Or so it sounds anyway. Applying this is another thing I have some issues with because it doesn't go very far at all. A good dollop of this on my hands is nowhere near enough to exfoliate everywhere I need to because it doesn't foam or go slightly runnier at all - it remains very thick which means it doesn't spread over my skin very easily. I've found that this one is better to use on very dry areas only as it goes much further that way in my opinion. I now tend to just use this on my elbows, knees and feet because that means I only need to use a small amount and it spreads much easier on smaller areas - so good for the dry bits but not if you're looking for an all over exfoliating scrub. The scent of this scrub is one thing I really did like about using it because it is scented with that unique fragrance that I now associate with this brand. It smells very fruity but a bit woody and musky as well - so if really sweet scents aren't your thing never fear because I think you'll still enjoy using this. The scent even lasts long after I've finished using it which is always a bonus - even longer if use the matching lotion (Righteous Body Butter - in case you're wondering).

Results wise this is actually pretty good - on the parts I can use it on anyway! When I use this on the really dry areas of my skin - knees and elbows - it really does give a really good scrub which makes my skin feel softer and more moisturised but doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest. It has just the right consistency with the beads in my opinion. The one thing I have found is that this leaves a slight greasy film on my skin - there's a difference between being really soft and greasy but that normally comes off with a quick wipe over and then applying lotion isn't a problem - makes my skin feel a bit clogged for a bit though. Overall this does make my skin feel softer BUT it's a pain in the ar*e to get out of the tub, can't be used all over and makes my skin ever so slightly greasy so for those reasons I won't be buying this again. Soap & Glory let me down this time - I don't recommend this, 2*s from me.

                Thanks For Reading.

                Disadvantages

Like all Soap and Glory products, the butter has a fresh, girly smell to it. The butter is thick and creamy,, just as moisturizers should be, and soaks into your skin. I used it before going to bed, and when I woke in the morning my skin felt soft and a light fragrance was still resting on my skin. I tend to use this butter on my feet a lot, as it is great for dry skin. I would definitely recommend to a friend, I have even started buying the Soap and Glory range as presents for friends. You must buy this!
