As somebody who suffers from dry and itchy skin in winter months, I like to ensure that I am buying the best possible shower gel for my skin type. I have a bathroom full of shower gels, some of which I love and some of which I have tried and not dipped into again. The Palmolive Bath and Creme is one I do rate. Palmolive is a name synonymous with soaps and shower products, so you can trust them. I first discovered this at my mum's, there was a mammoth sized bottle plonked next to the bath. When I first used it, I was staggered at how creamy it felt in the hand and also how wonderful it felt when it was massaged into the skin. The pinky cream coloured liquid has a great viscosity and lathers up a treat, so you only need a pinch. I could spend ages just smoothing this into the skin, each stroke you really feel it sinking into the skin and being absorbed like a sponge soaking up moisture. The smell is delicate and refined, with a milky almond aroma just lingering in the backround. It smells light enough not to upset any delicate nostrils which is great. It rinses off a treat and most importantly, the after effects are good. My skin felt a lot calmer after just one use and my dry patches actually felt less itchy and soothed for the first time in a while. I really rate this product and as a bottle seems to last up to two months, the longevity is superb too. Prices vary as they are often in a two for one offer, but I believe a standard sized bottle retails for about two pounds. Ideal for sensitive skin and for those who need something for dryer skin conditions.
Palmolive do make an excellent range of bathroom toiletries and I am a huge fan of their high quality shower gels. Recently, I also bought a bottle of their two in one bath cream to try. I had not given this a go before as I felt that the bottle was a bit big for my glass shelves in my bathroom...but it was on special offer in my local Tescos at two bottles for three pounds....so I decided to snap it up and give it a go! There is nothing I like better at the end of a stressful day at work than to have a nice deep hot bath. It is something that I really look forward to! I always use bubble bath, but had never used the cream before. I poured it into the stream of hot running water and was immediately met with a soothing 'calm' smell. It was warm and rich and the almond milk scent was not too heavy and overpowering. After leaving it running for ten minutes I returned to find my bath a sea of bubbles and the water a lovely milky colour...I almost felt like Cleopatra sinking into it! The milk in the water left my skin feeling very soft indeed and I took extra care with the towel when I eventually climbed out of the bath...gently patting instead of my usual vigorous rub! The smell stayed on my skin throughout the day. When I used this, I did not feel the need to re moisturise my skin either...My skin felt cool and soft...really nice. The bottle design for this bath milk is a distinctive shape and the lid is easy to put on and off.. You could however be forgiven for tipping in too much of the creme in the first time you use the bottle. This is a must have product for my bathroom now and compliments the other Palmolive ranges that I now use daily.
I am always on the look out for a bargain so when I spotted Palmolive 2 in 1 bath and cream in my local Waitrose reduced to just 49p for a 500ml bottle I bought several! Palmolive 2 in 1 is part of the Palmolive naturals range of bath and shower gels. The ones I bought contain honey and milk. It states on the plastic bottle that this bath cream is suitable for those with sensitive skin. As I have a sensitive skin I thought this sounded good. The bath cream comes in a large plastic bottle with a yellow coloured top. The top is one of those twist on and of affairs that I find really awkward to open. However that aside I have been very impressed with the amount of lovely rich bubbles this bath cream produces. I find I only need a small amount to produce a bath full of bubbles. The bath cream itself is quite thick but still tends to come out of the bottle in a rush so you will need to tip the bottle with care! Unless I had known that this was honey and milk cream I wouldn't have had a clue what was contained in this cream from the smell. Don't get me wrong; the smell is really quite nice, sort of soapy and clean. However, unlike some of the more expensive bath foams and creams this scent doesn't linger! After a long soak in my bath my skin did feel soft and hydrated. The cream did not cause any irritation either so full marks here. The bubbles lasted for the duration of my bath too. Overall I would recommend this bath cream, especially at the low price I paid! I have looked on other supermarket sites and see this usually retails for around £2.
The Product ============= This is Palmolive Naturals Bath and Creme with Almond Milk. It is a creamy bubble bath which is suitable for sensitive skin. The Company ============ Palmolive is part of the Colgate company and makes a wide range of toiletries including soaps, liquid hand-washes, shower gels, bubble baths and deodorants. Cost ====== For a 500ml bottle it costs £1.69 (from Sainsburys) but I got mine on a buy one get one free offer so it worked out at 85p a bottle which is good value for money. Bottle ======= It is a 500ml bottle and is white plastic with a peach screw top lid. On the front is a picture of almonds and the word Naturals is quite prominent to highlight the fact that it contains natural Almond Milk. It is from the hydrating range for sensitive skin. The Smell =========== When you open the lid you are hit by the sweet almond smell. It is quite a sweet smell and its nice but some people might find it a little too sweet smelling. When you add it to running water the scent quickly fills the bathroom. The Ingredients ================= Almond milk is known to have moisturising properties. It is also high in Vitamin E which is a natural anti-oxidant and is thought to slow down signs of ageing and degeneration of skin cells. The Test ============= I open the bottle and can smell the lovely sweet smell of almonds. I add a small amount to running water and it quickly foams up. By the time my bath had run there was a big thick layer of bubble all over the bath, just the way I like it! The smell of almonds fills the whole bathroom. After washing and drying I can still smell the almond smell and my skin feels a little softer although I would still want to moisturise. My Thoughts ============= This is a pleasant smelling bubble bath which foams up well and is good value for money. It is good for sensitive skin and its hydrating qualities are good for those with dry skin. However it would not be suitable for those with a nut allergy. There is no warning on the back of the bottle about this but if I had a nut allergy I wouldn't risk using this product.
Before I begin... I was going to put this product in the PALMOLIVE SHOWER GEL catergory but as I have previously written on another PALMOLIVE SHOWER GEL and would of had to over write that opinion so this opinion is now in this catergory as the product is PALMOLIVE NATURALS SHOWER & CREME WITH NATURAL ALMOND MILK. Enjoy... Palmolive have always been a reasonable brand and there are usually a few products with the brand label lying around in my house. The brand sells products at reasonable prices and each product is reasonably high in quality. Recently my Father bought a new Palmolive product for the bathroom which I have become very fond of so I decided to write about it on the site... This product is from the Palmolive NATURALS shower range and is called 'Shower & Creme with Natural Almond Milk' May I also add it is for 'SENSITIVE SKIN' The bottle contains 250ml off creamy goo that smells sensational and works really well. You may think my opinion title is a little weird but honestly, this stuff is so good, I wish I could drink it! This shower gel has something different to other shower gels, it has an amazing and unique smell and is just generally a pleasure to use. It is a product I really enjoy using where as other shower gel's I just use because I need to, this one has something about it that really makes me want to have a shower and use it! (So sad.. I know!!!) When I use the shower gel when washing, the gel is so creamy it does not just run straight off my body, it lasts for a while and your body smells of the most adorable aroma! As you can probably guess from the name of the product, the shower & Creme with natural Almond milk leaves a strong almondy smell which some may like, others may not. I happen to love the smell!! The creme itself is a light cream colour and looks simalar to custard. (I know that sounds disgusting... sorry!) After your shower you will find you still smell str ongly of the almondy smell which is lovely as usually most shower gels lose their smell as soon as you've rubbed yourself dry!! The bottle itself is like all Palmolive shower gel bottles. It is rounded especially at the top and then curves to the bottom of the bottle. The lid is an easy to use flip lid which you can just flip open with your nails and then squeeze the goo out. This NATURALS bottle inparticular is non-see through and is mainly white and peach in colour. The Palmolive logo is green and white and is easy to notice when shopping for the product. A simple small picture is used on the front of the product of an almond. All details of the product are given on the back. I definitely give the smell, durability and presentation of the product 9/10 at least! The bottle mentions on the back that 'Palmolive Shower & Creme for sensitive skin contains a special combination of milk cleansers and natural Almond Milk, to leave your skin feeling wonderfully soft.' This is totally true, I do have quite soft skin anyway but the product really has restored my dry skin which you can get in the recent hot weather, especially on my legs. (This product is also great as a shaving creme ladies!!!) The ingredients of the shower creme are as follows (incase anyone has any allegies!!) : Aqua, Sodium C12-13 Pareth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lauryl Polyglucose, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin, Polyquaternium-7, Glycol Distearate, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Laureth-4, Glycerin, Prunus Dulcis, Sine Adipe Lac, CI 16255, CI 4700. The bottle lasts for a reasonable time alike all simalar shower gels and is very good value for money, the bottles cost just under £2 each (Excellent value!!) but I have seen the NATURALS range from PALMOLIVE currently on offer in ASDA. You can buy the product from well known superstores such as Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco etc and also leading retailers such as Superdrug and Boots. I definitely give the smell, durability and presentation of the product 9/10 at least! I really recommend this product, I am definitely going to try other Palmolive NATURALS products from the range as well as many other Palmolive products too. This shower gel is superb and you can see I highly recommend it to others. If you haven't tried any Palmolive NATURALS products then why not try them? Palmolive are a really reasonable brand name which you often find have products on offer. If you have never bought a Palmolive product like I hadn't then why not? I hope I have helped any readers in this opinion. Thanks for reading. Emma -x-x-x-
** This is a review of Palmolive Active for Men, not their 2 in 1 Bath and Creme as you might think from the category. I was supposed to be buying Christmas presents at Müller Drogeriemarkt, but the second I noticed this gel on sale at 99 cents (~60p) I had to buy it. I’ve been using it virtually every day since, despite the growing selection of gels and foams and bubbles in my bathroom. Before I even used it, I liked it. There are 2 reasons for this – firstly the packaging. Blue (my favourite colour) is very much the order of the day here. The midnight-blue container is topped with a navy blue lid and full of a deep turquoise blue liquid. Secondly, the smell. I don’t often open bottles before buying them, having been frowned at more than once in the UK by eagle eyed shop owners for doing so, but I did so here – not least because I’d found the bottle in the baskets outside the shop on the street, far from the view of evil shop assistants. It smells, or rather it reminds me of every man I’ve ever smelt. At least the clean ones. It’s a weird yet appealing mix of musky aftershave, minty fresheness and who knows what else. They describe it as having “a fresh herb scent” which I guess just about sums it up, although the “herb” part leaves me in a bit of a German frame of mind. They put herbs in everything. Tea, bubble bath, toothpaste, chocolate bars….you name it. So, I looked at it and smelt it and noticed the price, and within minutes it was on its way home with me, waiting to be tried that night. The gel is pH neutral and contains sea minerals which I assume must be a good thing, otherwise they wouldn’t say so. You need the same amount as with other shower gels and use it in the same way (on a mitt / puff / your hand), but the effects aren’t what I was expecting. Maybe it’s because it’s made for men who don’t care about having silky soft hydrated ski n. I don’t know, but what I did begin to realize is that after drying off my skin was, well, dry. Not nice and dry as apposed to wet, but rough and dry as apposed to smooth. The claims by the manufacturers that it will “vitalize and care for your skin without drying it out” seem a bit of a lie here – my skin’s not sensitive, and is fine with all other gels, both in this range and outside it, but it’s never reacted like this before. It wasn’t all that unpleasant, but I definitely needed to slap on some moisturizer afterwards. I thought it was very much a morning product – it would give you an invigorating start to the day, but wouldn’t send you off soundly to sleep within minutes of using it. It bubbles up rapidly and smells great, but I think it cleans a little too well – wiping off the dirt is one thing, but peeling off bits of your skin with it is quite another. As with other Palmolive gels, the bottle gets slippy in the shower because of the shape and the fact that info is printed onto labels and not the bottle directly. The lid was also hard to open It’s around 2 GBP for 250 ml in the UK, but look out for it on special offers. Despite the criticism, it would no doubt be an ok product for the men in your life, but I wouldn’t call it a feel good girly gel, nor rate it as excellent value at the price. On sale wherever good (and, evidently, bad) bath products are sold. Ratings below are based on a UK price.
Palmolive bodywash with milk and honey The promise: ?Advanced formulas made with milk proteins help your skin retain its natural moisture, Rich lather leaves skin feeling soft, moisturised and healthy looking. Delightful fragrances? The review: I always use body washes rather than soap, as I find soap makes my skin dry. Like always I tend to choose products that are on special offer in attempts to save the odd pound!!. So one day I went into Superdrug and bought Palmolive body wash with milk and honey. The bottle is quite nice. Roundish, white, with a yellow lid (Which I have to say is quite hard to open when your hands are wet!). Directions for use: ?Squeeze a small amount onto a wet body sponge, and indulge your skin with the moisture-rich lather. After use, rinse body sponge and hang to dry? (Alternatively, leave in the shower so it becomes cold and soggy when you want to use it again!!) I put some of the lovely smelling liquid onto one of those shower puff thingys and I must say was surprised at how little I needed to make a thick lather. You really don?t need to use a lot of this. If you do, not only would you be wasting half of it, but also you will be washing it away for weeks!!. After using Palmolive my skin smelt lovely and it was nice and soft (Although this didn?t last too long). So what?s in it??? Get ready for the list: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Decyl Glucoside, Perfume, Glycol Distearate, Laureth-4, Polyquaternium-7, Lactose, Honey (Mel), Milk Protein, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Red No.40 The verdict: I found this product to be really good value for money, and with the small amount you need it lasts for ages. Question and Answer time: (Taken from the web-site) Q - ?Is the product suitable for children/b abies?? A ? It Is suitable for children, although not recommended for babies. Q ? What is the shelf life on the product? A ? ?All of our products are tested for a shelf life of three years from the date of manufacture. However, we do recommend using the product within one year of opening it to guarantee freshness and efficacy? Q ? What is the difference between a normal body wash and a sensitive skin body wash? A - Sensitive Skin Body Wash contains a lower fragrance level than normal body washes. Typically, higher fragrance levels are associated with higher incidents of skin irritation. So who makes the product? The body wash is made by the company ?Colgate ? Palmolive? and is copyrighted under ?Soapsoft?. They also make hand washes, deodorants, and household products such as Ajax, and Fab (Washing powder). If you want to have a look for yourself, take a look at the website www.palmolive.com. This will take you to the homepage for all the products so you have to do some hunting around to get to the products you want. .
For those of you who've read my opinion on the Palmolive shower creme with Milk & Honey you'll understand that I couldn't resist to buy the bath & creme. Again kids to bed and Mum was running her bath and Oh my this stuff is just absolutely scrumptious! The smell is so yummy you would wish you could eat it and it's really soft and creamy. It says for extra dry skin and it is doing its job! My skin felt soft and didn't need any bodylotion afterwards. It's a very mild product and it contains natural extracts of milk & honey. A 500ml bottle cost only £2.25 and for that price you are getting a good quality product and you don't need to put much in to get some great foam. I am now completely hooked on Palmolive and can't wait for my next bath or shower with this gorgeous product.
For my birthday last week, a friend popped by with my present, it was Palmolive Moisturising Body Wash with the puff. (and some choccies) This is such a gorgeous bath and shower creme, it really does moisturise your skin. You're guranteed to crawl out of the bath feeling all nice and refreshed and smelling really soft. The one I have, is the Natural Almond Extract with Vitamin E, it smells so nice, it makes you want to eat it. (at first I thought it was peach) If you're not sure what the puff is, it's a sort of netted sponge with a string attatched to it to hold on to ,you squeeze the desired amount of bath creme on to it and wet it, rub it all over your body until it's completely foamed. I suppose it's like a flannel really, but does the job much better. It's really soft too, so it doesn't harm the skin. The bottle of this product doesn't say suitable for sensitive skin (which I get) so I wasn't all that excited to use it, but I was surprised, it doesn't dry the skin out and is great. I'm not sure how much this costs as I got it as a gift, but I know that it's available in most beauty shops such as Boots and Superdrug. If you are thinking of changing your bath/shower creme, I highly recommend this, it's really nice smelling and you're guaranteed to love it. It comes in a stand up bottle with a flip top lid, so no worries of it leaking, just squeeze your amount out and loads won't follow, so you won't get a bath full.
I am very fussy about shower and bath creams as my skin tends to be rather dry and at times sensitive. I have tried many , many bath creams or foams and found very few to be satisfactory at retaining the skin's moisture. However with Palmolive's Milk and Honey bath & creme, (for extra dry skin) I have found a product that truly moisturises the skin. I recommend anyone with dry skin to give it a try. I guarantee you will be pleased with the results. It has a very rich creamy texture, the colour of banana milk shake and smells simply gorgeous, you almost wish it was a milk shake. Apparently it contains natural extracts of milk and honey and not just artificial additives. It is best to use with a sponge or bath mitt as it tends to be very slippery on your hands. Also the bottle design could be better, as the hole at the top tends to pour out too much at one time, meaning you end up wasting quite a bit sometimes. Thanks a lot for reading !
Good for sensitive skin, this bath cream contains a combination of mild cleansers and natural almond milk, to leave your skin feeling soft
