      Showering indulgence in a bottle.

      I tried this shower cream for the first time yesterday and was really impressed. I bought it partly because I felt like a change - but mostly because it was on offer. Currently (20/07/13) it is on special offer at Sainsburys and Tesco for 95p for a 250ml pack. It is £1.89 at Asda.

      It is described on the pack as a shower cream with 'Invigorating Orange blossom scent and caring bamboo milk.' Sounded exotic. The attractive pack design with its orange motif and the name of the product also appealed. The Nivea brand on the front leads you to expect a quality product so it was with high expectations that I used this cream.

      On pushing open the handy flip-top lid the first thing that hits you I the scent of this shower cream. It is heavenly: it does smell like oranges and orange blossom. The product is white and creamy. The cream lathers up well and rinses off leaving your skin feeling soft. All the time you are in the shower you are surrounded by the delicious citrusy scent of this product. When you emerge, not only do you leave with a gentle scent on your body - but the bathroom smells great too!

      Happy time shampoo is dermatologically approved and pH skin-balanced. It contains Hydra IQ moisture technology for that soft skin feeling. The ingredients are:

      Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Parfum, Glycerin, Glyceryl Glucoside, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/ Stem Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Sodium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-7, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Citric Acid, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Sodium Benzoate,Sodium Salicylate, Limonene, Linalool,Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, CI 15985.

      There are other products in the 'Happy Time' range including Happy Time deodorant 150ml, and Happy Time Cream soap twin pack if you want to keep that citrusy smell around for longer.

      I liked this product a lot and it made a lovely change from my usual shower cream. Would recommend.

      Disadvantages

      A beautifully scented shower cream product from the Nivea brand.

      I really like the "Nivea" range of toiletries and cosmetics, and have tried out an assortment of products from the range in the past. One product that has become a bit of a favourite of mine is the "Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream" and this review outlines my experiences of using the product.

      I generally buy my Happy Time Shower Cream along with my usual grocery shopping, as the product is available in Tesco. In saying that, I have noticed that the price of the Nivea Shower gels and creams will fluctuate quite a lot from time to time, so there have been times where I have bought it from other stores instead. It is quite widely available in places such as Savers, the discounted drugstore. I never pay more than £1 for the bottle.

      The packaging for the product is in keeping with most other shower gels and shower creams from elsewhere in the Nivea brand, comprising of a pale, cream-coloured bottle made of robust plastic. The familiar Nivea branding appears on the front of the bottle in its usual bright blue colouring, and there is a robust, 'flip-up' lid on top of the bottle that is coloured in bright blue plastic. An attractive image of a cut orange appears to the bottom of the bottle amidst some 'swirling' type of design. (I believe the bottle has changed slightly in recent times, and no longer resembles that shown at the top of the Dooyoo page here).

      The packaging is not only attractive, but has proven to be more than fit for purpose as it has never leaked or cracked during use, even though the bottle has been dropped a few times as a result of my clumsy hands. Likewise, I find the 'flip up' cap on top of the bottle has caused me no difficulty, even though I struggle with limited mobility in my hands at times.

      The Shower Cream product is a pale 'peach' sort of colour, and has a very creamy consistency, as you would expect. I don't find that the product is overly thick, so there have been no difficulties with dispensing it from the plastic bottle. I find too that it is not so thin as to spill or drip excessively during use.

      The Shower Cream's thicker consistency allows the product to feel quite economical, as I find only a small amount is required with each use, with the bottle lasting for a reasonable amount of time. This result also allows the purchase price to feel wholly justified.

      I find that the product's Creamy consistency feels quite 'nourishing' when used on my tired skin, with its smooth, creamy texture feeling soft and delicate. A light 'flutter' of creamy lather delicately cleanses my skin, rinsing with ease and leaving skin feeling cleansed and refreshed.

      As soon as the product is poured from its bottle, I am aware of the most delicious, citrus-infused scent. This feels quietly awakening and surprisingly revitalising, without being 'heady', 'shrill' or too intense. Instead, the refreshing orange-like scent feels quite uplifting, particularly when it has been used during the cold winter mornings recently. A delicate sweetness can be detected at the heart of the scent too, although I find that this never feels sickly or over-bearing, which gives the Nivea Shower Cream a surprisingly 'natural' feel to it.

      I find too that the scent is in no hurry to disappear, as it lingers gently as I continue showering, with a faint 'whisper' of the scent lingering delicately on my skin afterwards. To allow the scent to take on a little extra 'body', I have been using orange or Satsuma-scented body butter or lotion products after using the Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream, and these seem to co-ordinate with the product beautifully. I do believe that there is a co-ordinating Happy Time Body Lotion product available from elsewhere in the Nivea brand, although I haven't tried this out for myself.... Yet.

      I have also opted to use the Happy Time Cream in the bathtub, as well as in the shower, although I don't find it to be just as enjoyable when used via this method. This is only an observation on my part, as the product is marketed as being a Shower product only. I do find, however, that the product will create a generous helping of bubbly lather when it is poured under a running tap, and this feels wonderfully relaxing to bathe in. In terms of the product's delicious, uplifting scent, however, I find this is much more 'muted' and dilute when the product is used in the bathwater, as you would perhaps expect. It is for this reason that I tend to use the product in the shower more than the bathtub, but I have experienced no difficulties or negative issues during the occasions that I HAVE added the Cream to the tub.... It just feels nicer when used in the shower, in my opinion.

      In terms of my dry, sensitive skin, I have found that it seems to respond rather well to the Nivea Happy Shower Cream, which has resulted in me experiencing less dryness than other bath and shower products I have been using recently. Certainly, the dry skin on my arms and legs seems to have improved slightly, with no noticeable 'flare ups' being present during or after use of the product. Similarly, I have noticed no aggravation to the sensitive eczema that I suffer from, with it remaining hushed throughout the product's use.

      I do feel there is a certain 'nourishing' quality to be found from the Nivea Shower product, but alas, it is not moisturising enough to warrant me skipping my daily application of a good quality body butter or moisturiser product. This result is on a par with most other good-quality shower cream products that I have used recently, and I certainly have no complaints in terms of the product being suitable for my own skin type, and, more importantly, the sensitivity of my skin. For these reasons, I do recommend the product for those consumers who, like me, suffer with hyper-sensitive skin.

      Taking everything into account, I feel the Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream is well worth a full recommendation from me, together with top marks in the product rating score. I find its delicious scent alone makes the product a very worthwhile purchase, with its apparently gentle formulation and economical price tag making it something of a staple in my bathroom cabinet.

        A lovely shower cream, well worth buying.

        This is another Nivea shower gel/cream I grabbed from Tesco for £1 while they're on offer - I'm currently about 3/4 of the way through the bottle and I LOVE it!

        This on the bottle says it's a shower cream and I agree - it does have a much creamier texture than a typical shower gel, almost silky. It's a nice thickness and foams up very well, it also feels incredibly gentle on your skin and quite soothing in a way too. It leaves my skin very soft after use - unusually for me as I don't normally find any shower products to actually effect my skin so much!

        The cream is white and smells very refreshing - it's a light, pleasant smell that's just right and not too overpowering, but you know it's there. It doesn't stay on the skin forever but it does stay for a couple of hours after use assuming you don't use any other creams afterwards - most will overpower this one.

        The bottle isn't see-through but the plastic isn't quite solid, so hold it to the light and you can see how much you have left - the top is easy to work even with slippery hands.

        A little slightly odd note is I find this is great for using before you shave your legs - I think it's the cream texture, but it leaves your legs smooth and moisturised enough you can shave easily without dragging. Perhaps not a giant selling point, but a handy thing for when you're in the shower!

        I love this stuff and will definitely buy again.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A good everyday shower cream

          When visiting one of my local beauty stores a few weeks back I noticed that they had an offer on the Nivea shower creams and this offer was for 97p. Fab price for a brand such as Nivea which I have tried previously and the quality has been great especially on the cream. I had a good sniff of all the creams and some seemed very floral and a bit overpowering and certainly not my cup of tea but the last one I tried was Nivea happy time and this was right up my street with its fresh fruity smell.

          This product is a shower cream and it comes in a white 250ml bottle which displays the usual Nivea brand logo. The bottle has a picture of an orange on the front and it looks very summery and inviting. There is a blue pull top lid on the top of the bottle which can easily be lifted up for ease of use. The bottle advises that this sower cream contains invigorating orange blossom scent and bamboo milk. It promises to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth with the hydra IQ technology.

          The first thing you notice about this product is the gorgeous orange fruity scent which is ideal for a quick shower and a pleasure to use. I must admit I love a good shower cream and although this is a little thicker than a gel it isn't as thick as I would usually expect as I like my creams to be rather luxurious. When you apply the product you can immediately feel that it is very moisturising as it glides over the skin silky soft.

          After the bath or shower the skin feel lovely and clean and refreshed. It feels lovely and soft and holds a lovely delicate scent. One thing I do think is that the skin feels just ever so slightly dry and I use a cream afterwards from a different brand however I am going to be doing a little research next time I'm in the store to see if this product comes in a body cream too.

          I would definatly recommend this shower gel as an everyday item to freshen you up

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Value for money, fresh smell, great on skin!

            We had trouble with our hot water the other week and therefore I had to shower at a relative's, since I had forgotten my shower gel I borrowed hers. I was so impressed with the shower gel I went and bought it for myself.
            This shower gel smells amazing! It left my skin feeling incredibly fresh and clean. I did not have to use a large amount to create a lather, therefore the bottle lasts a while which saves you money in the long run. I have sensitive skin and experienced no irritation whatsoever. I would definitely recommend the shower gel to a friend.
            I have no negative things to say about this shower gel; furthermore it is not expensive and seems to be on offer in most supermarkets at the moment.
            Overall this is a great shower gel, smells great, left my skin feeling lovely and is great value for the money.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            A lovely orangey-smelling shower gel from Nivea

            When I am shopping for toiletries nowadays I always scan the shelves for anything on discount, which is how I found this Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream in my local supermarket. While I like shower gels like Original Source, or anything fruity, to be honest when it comes to shower gel as long as the smell is okay, and it's cheap, I will happily buy it.

            PACKAGING
            This shower cream comes in a white plastic bottle with a flip top lid. Its main colours are the usual white and royal blue that Nivea always use. Nothing mind-blowingly but you know that this is going to be the usual reliable Nivea quality. On the front also is a photo of half an orange, and the bottle states that this will leave skin soft due to the bamboo extract and your senses simulated thanks to the orange blossom.

            This comes in a 250ml bottle which is the only size available. A bottle that size will do me for maybe 2 weeks as I shower every day and like to use quite a lot.

            USAGE
            This shower cream is white in colour and fairly thick. When applied to wet skin, it immediately produces a soft, creamy lather which feels very rich and luxurious. I really liked the lather this created as it felt like it was making my skin nice and clean and soft. The scent is very orangey - this is due to the orange blossom but to me it smells like a mixture of tangerine and suncream. I liked the smell as it was fairly strong and left the bathroom smelling pleasant after usage.

            AFTER SHOWERING
            The fragrance of this shower cream lingered on my skin after drying. My skin didn't feel especially soft I have to say, but it did not dry my skin out which to me is the most important thing. I did feel very refreshed after using this, so I think this would be a great shower cream for using in the morning or after the gym... although that's not to say it isn't equally as pleasant to use in the evenings.

            PRICE
            This is normally £1.85 but I got this on offer in Sainsbury's so it cost me 92p which is a brilliant bargain as far as I'm concerned.

            WOULD I BUY THIS AGAIN?
            I would definitely buy this again while it is on sale for 92p. It's a good quality, nice smelling shower gel for less than £1 and you can't say fairer than that. I won't be buying it once it goes back up to full price - as I have mentioned before, I prefer to spend only around a £1 for shower gels as I go through them so quickly and every penny that I save at the moment is crucial. Hopefully this will be reduced for a long while yet as I do really like it.

            I'd give this 5 stars if the price was 92p ALL the time, but it sadly isn't, so 4 stars it is!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            An excellent shower cream for everyday use

            Recently my Mum has been on a kick to get as many Disney Cards from Morrisons as possible for my cousin (her nephew) to play with during the weekly shop. I tend to shop with her and act as an annoying little earwig constantly twittering away into her ear trying to persuade her to buy me certain luxuries as we wander about the shop. So last week to my surprise (the last time it is possible to collect the Disney cards mind you, and a weekend when it was double offer too for the cards!) I noticed this nice looking shower cream and had to ask if we could try it out.

            Nivea is obviously a very known and in my opinion very expensive brand. The only time I tend to use any of their products is after Christmas when my grandmother or Mum go all out and buy me a little set of lovely washing products or even just singular bottles of different stuff to try out. I find that getting little almost travel sized bottles, of products is the best way to test them out because that way even if you find them unappealing, you haven't wasted your money and a bottles worth of something. I'm very waste conscious and so its essential I use the products I buy.

            With that I mind this particular product was very much an impulse buy. The pretty bottle which is plain with the simplistic blue 'Nivea' name on it is pretty standard. But the image of a fresh looking swirl of orange and green supposed to mimic the ingredients within is very appealing and really does send off a good message about the product. Not only this but even the name 'Happy' time is very reassuring and you would feel very disappointed if you did not enjoy this product based on that, so Nivea definitely set the standards high.

            The bottle is a simply flip cap, blue in colour, and is easy to open. Saying this however, it is not too easy as sometimes I find certain bottles, in particular some shampoo products, do tend to almost open themselves, and I'm distraught at the mess left when I find a big puddle of gooey liquid that has spilled out of the bottle.

            The ingredients include:
            Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Parfum, Glycerin, Glyceryl Glucoside, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Sodium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-7, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Citric Acid, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Salicylate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, CI 15985.

            The two fragrances or main ingredients are orange blossom scent and bamboo milk (which the bottle funnily enough calls 'caring' bamboo). It is the orange blossom that really does it for me as the scent is very fresh and fruity smelling and I can really smell it on my skin after use.

            The product is apparently dermatologically approved which is great for people out there with sensitive skin much like myself. Something I also find myself enjoying is that when I apply the cream it doesn't leave a thick white residue like some other products do. Instead, it is near invisible bar the bubbles produced when the water runs over you. This is excellent as it reassures me that my pours are not being choked and my skin can really breathe afterwards.

            On Amazon a bottle can be bought for about £1.50, but I've also heard you can buy them in certain pound stores if you keep your eyes peeled and you're lucky enough that your shop stocks them. Supermarkets tend to sell them from £2 to as much as £3.50 in Asdas for a 250ml bottle (the quantity I bought my bottle in).

            This is a great product that I would definitely recommend and would give 5 stars for. Even in my limited use, I can really feel the effects on my skin and have noticed also it seemed to remove the top layer of dead skin I had on my elbows for example, afterwards. This means that, for me at least, the product not only functions as a shower cream but also an exfoliater also! It leaves skin feels silky and really refreshed and you smell great afterwards also. The skin feels soft to the touch and you really notice the difference. I urge you to try it out.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            A great smelling body wash

            **About the Product**
            Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream
            250ml
            Can be bought in Tesco, Superdrug, Boots etc...
            Costs £1.85 in Superdrug

            *Packaging**
            The bottle is white, with the Nivea logo, name of product and an image in the front. It has a secure lid, which is handy when you are carrying your shopping home and other items are on top of the bottle. The shower gel can be squeezed out easily and will not leave you fighting with it in the shower.

            **My Opinion**
            I love this shower gel. I got it a few years ago in a set for Christmas and it was a delight. It smells like milky oranges and this is great for anyone who loves a citrus body wash. It is slightly liquidy for a body wash but I put that down to the coconut milk. It lathers up nicely and is easy enough to wash of. The smell lingers on your skin and leaves you smelling great all day long. It is a bit more expensive than some other shower gels, but if you want to treat yourself to a good quality product then this is the way forward.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Overall I am reasonably happy with this product

            Anyone who regularly reads my reviews might be forgiven for thinking that all I seem to do is spend my time in either the bath or the shower. I do!! No, I'm kidding. I do, however, love to try out new bath and shower products and one I have been using most recently is Nivea Bath Care Happy Time Shower Cream - it's a bit of a mouthful, I agree!

            It's cheap - ist cost me £1.25 on offer from Tesco's and I bought it because it was advertised as being 'new' and 'zesty and refreshing'. I figured this is just the way I need to feel when I have to get up on a morning for work, so I gave it a go.

            The consistency of this shower cream is good. It's not too runny and I am able to squirt it adequately on top of my little puff when I am taking my shower. My goodness, a little of this foes go a very long way. You only need a little amount in order to get a brilliant rich creamy later and it does smell lovely as you spread it round your body.

            For anyone who might be interested, ingredients are as follows:
            Aqua,Sodium Laureth Sulfate ,Cocamidopropyl Betaine ,PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate ,Parfum ,PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil ,Sodium Benzoate ,Polyquaternium-7 ,Sodium Salicylate ,Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer ,Citric Acid ,PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate ,Propylene Glycol ,Hydrolyzed Milk Protein ,Sodium Chloride ,Butylene Glycol ,Methylparaben ,Bambusa Vulgaris ,Limonene ,Linalool ,Geraniol ,Butylphenyl Methylpropional ,CI 15985

            For such a cheap little product it does feel rather luxurious and you might be forgiven for thinking that you are actually using a more expensive product, if you didn't know better. It is infused with Bamboo Mils and smells of orange blossom and it does smell so fresh - it is guaranteed to wake me up first thing on a cold and damp winter's morning.

            The bottle stands up easily in the shower but I am unable to hang it up so it just rests on the little shelf in the corner. It has a flip top lid and contains 200ml of lotion, which I don't think is too badly priced at all.

            It rinses off very well and leaves my body feeling fresh and pleasantly scented. The only negative I have about this product is that the smell does not last very long at all. After about an hour or so there is absolutely nothing left of the smell on my body. However, as it was so cheap I cannot really complain, can I?

            All in all a great little shower cream and I do recommend it folks.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Don't pay full price as it's usually on offer somewhere

            During a recent trip away my other half and I popped into Boots to pick up a few bits and bobs, and being unsure what the toiletries would be like in our hotel, decided to pick up a shower gel whilst we were there. We usually try to get quite 'neutral' shower gels so we can both use the same one. This just saves too many products cluttering up the shower at the same time, and means we both know when we're running out rather than relying on telling whoever's doing the shopping (usually me!).

            We're not loyal to any particular brand, but we try to get the best brand we can by comparing the offers that are available. This Nivea one was reduced to £1 in Boots, and seemed good value compared to the others so we went with this one. It's often on offer in the likes of Tesco too, so it's worth looking out for it as it's nearly £2 at full price.

            The shower cream comes in a white bottle with a flip lid which clicks down. This was useful because I hate products that leak in your suitcase when you're travelling and end up with your clothes in a complete mess. The packaging is quite plain, it's white with the Nivea logo, and the name of the shower cream 'Happy Time' on the front with a picture of what I think is supposed to be an orange (representing the orange blossom smell).

            The bottle is the type that just stands up rather than being hung in the shower, this isn't a problem for us as we have a little soap bar style shelf in the shower, so it stands up and doesn't tend to fall over, but it's something to bear in mind if you prefer products you can hang up.

            The shower is in the form of a cream, which I particularly like because I have quite dry skin and need the extra moisturisation, especially at this time of year. According to the bottle, it has "Hydra IQ moisture technology", which I think means it moisturises your skin! It also contains bamboo milk which sounds really lovely. The cream is white in colour, and lathers quite well but is not the best at lathering and a little doesn't go a long way. I feel I have to use quite a bit each time I shower as it doesn't lather brilliantly, so I don't think it'll last long before it needs replacing. It might last a bit longer if you used it with a body puff but I'm not keen on these as they're a bit 'scratchy' on the skin.

            The best thing about this shower cream is the smell. My other half doesn't really care what shower products we use, but he does like citrus scents so this one appealed because it claimed to smell of orange blossom. It does smell very orangey, and the smell hits you as soon as you open the bottle. I can't say the smell stays on your body after showering but this isn't a bad thing as I don't particularly want to smell of fruit all day, I just enjoy the scent whilst I'm showering and it makes me feel like I'm getting really clean.

            My experience of this shower gel has been quite good all in all. I like the fact it's a cream and adds moisture to my skin because I don't have time to moisturise all over and wait for it to dry before getting dressed. It does seem like my skin is a bit less dry since using this shower cream. It's good value if you can get it on offer, but I wouldn't pay full price because it won't last as long as other shower gels due to lack of lather. The smell is lovely and a pleasant way to start the day. It's also quite neutral so everyone in the family could use this product to avoid several things being on the go at the same time!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            A high quality shower cream from Nivea

            Each time I take my bath or shower I have an array of gorgeous product from which to choose, which I store in a large basket in the bottom of my wardrobe. There are further choices in the rear of my wardrobe, which can be found in several carrier bags, but I've stopped myself from opening them until all of the others have been used. Whilst I have a few favourite products that I will buy time and time again, I enjoy looking for something new and trying it out for the first time. One of my latest shower cream purchases belongs to Nivea and its' name is Happy Time, which I think is perfectly named, as I couldn't help but smile when I lifted it off the supermarket shelf. Now that I've had a little time to try and test out my product I would like to tell you a little about it.

            APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT

            I always think that the appearance of all of Nivea's products are both eye-catching and calming with their familiar blue writing incorporating the white logo and I like the fact that they are suited to both sexes. There are many toiletries that I own that can only be used by me, as they are considerably feminine, although my husband will often admit to pinching them if he's running low with his own. What I particularly liked about Happy Time in addition to its' price is the refreshing image contained on the lower section of the packaging where we are provided with an image of half an orange. We are provided with 250 ml of shower cream that is contained within a white plastic bottle with a very slim flip top lid. Provided that the packaging is not covered with a protective seal I will always lift the lid in the shop take a sniff and I have to say that I was well and truly captured by its' delightfully uplifting fragrance.

            MY EXPERIENCE WITH USING HAPPY TIME

            The pearly white shower cream is of a good consistency and is easily dispensed onto my shower puff or net body polisher, as I tend to call it. The fragrance reminds me more of a satsuma as opposed to an orange, as it is a little more delicate. As the cream also contains bamboo milk it offers a smooth and creamy richness to both the aroma and the effects that it provides to my skin. I was aware that I was using a high quality product, which can only be expected from Nivea, as within seconds of gently rubbing my net body polisher against my skin a plentiful lather is created. I would describe the experience as very luxurious with an exceptionally good value price tag. The cream was effective at removing all traces of any grease and impurities and as I had previously used a rather oily body scrub I was delighted to see that the cream was powerful enough to remove the oily residue.

            The cream is extremely mild yet powerful enough to thoroughly cleanse the skin, which resulted in a soft and smooth surface with no greasy residue and what I love is that it leaves a subtle fragrance on my skin, which lingers for a considerable time. As I have stated in previous reviews I favour using net body polishers as opposed to flannels or sponges for two reasons - they allow my products to last much longer and I'm offering my skin a gentle scrub in the process. The cream is suitable for daily use and I suffered no adverse effects when using such as dryness or itching. For the purpose of this review I omitted my final beauty essential and that is a body moisturiser and whilst my skin didn't feel as hydrated as I would have liked, the product delivered a fair amount of moisturization.

            INGREDIENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION

            As with all products of this nature we are provided with a fairly lengthy list of ingredients on the reverse of the bottle and for obvious reasons I do not intend copying them into this review. The cream is pH skin balanced and has been dermatogically approved. We are informed that Hydra IQ moisture technology has been used for the creation of this product, although this is not something I've ever come across before with any of my other toiletries. The cream should be used within 12 months of opening and what I found strange is that there is no recycling symbol located anywhere on the packaging. However, as the bottle is manufactured from plastic I would strongly suspect that it could be placed in the recycling bin once empty.

            PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

            Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream is available in most supermarkets and chemists and at the time of writing (12 May 2011) you can purchase a 250 ml bottle from Boots for just £1, which is excellent value for money for such a beautifully fragranced and very effective product. Consequently, this shower cream receives 5 stars from me together with a huge recommendation.

            I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.

              One of my fave shower products

              ~~~~~~
              This is one of those products that you often spot in pound shops and, if you do spot it at such a bargain price, I recommend you buy several! This is a fantastic product and is definitely worth more than a humble quid in my book. It is also available in Boots for the still-not-unreasonable price of £1.93. The bottle is 250ml.
              The packaging of this product is pleasingly simple. The bottle is white with a few little graphics on the front, mainly in yellow and dark blue. The bottle is slightly teardrop shaped and has a fliptop lid on the top.
              ~~~~~~~~
              Citrus fresh
              ~~~~~~~~
              But to be honest it could come in any old bottle and a wouldn't care because what's inside is so fabulous! The product is creamy white and the smell is just delicious. It is citrussy fresh and you can see where the product gets the name "Happy" from - it is a really uplifting, summery smell. To me the main scent is of orange - but this isn't at all sickly or overpowering. It is perfect for your morning shower as it's the ideal wake-up. I also think it's the perfect choice for these lovely sunny spring mornings.
              Another bonus is that the shower cream is a lovely rich consistency and it lathers up beautifully in the shower. After washing and drying off, this leaves skin feeling very soft and smooth, and the scent lingers just slightly on the skin. However, I'd like it to linger a bit more - but this can soon be rectified of course by using the matching body lotion!
              Snap it up
              ~~~~~~~
              All in all this is one of my favourite shower products. If you can find it for £1 then you have found yourself an absolute bargain.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                Great shower cream for all the family

                Having always loved most of the products in the Nivea range I was keen to try this Happy time shower gel I saw on offer in my local chemist for only £1.00. I have always found that most Nivea products can be trusted to come up trumps compared to a lot of other products, so I was pretty sure I was in safe hands using this shower cream.

                ~ What is it and who is it for? ~

                This Happy Time is a rich white shower cream with an orange blossom scent, that is designed to soften and smooth your skin after use. It is designed for all the family and is ideal for those with sensitive skin because of the vital bamboo milk ingredient. It is pH skin balanced and dermatologically approved, meaning it will be kind to skin.

                ~The Packaging ~

                This 250ml shower cream comes in a large white plastic bottle with a blue flip lid where the cream is dispensed. The blue and white colours are representative of the Nivea brand.
                I found the bottle quite attractive and it stood out on the shelf next to other brands, with the bright orange image on the front of the bottle.
                Having a flat bottom meant that the bottle sat nicely in the shower without toppling over! The flat lid also made it relatively easy to tip upside down to rest when I was almost at the end of the shower cream!

                ~ Price and Availability ~

                As I mentioned I paid only £1.00 for this shower cream which for a branded Nivea product I felt was very reasonable. Since then I have noticed it is possible to buy products from the Nivea shower gel/cream range on offer, so it is advisable to shop around. The usual retail price is around £1.95 for the 250ml bottle.

                I have found that the product is available from all supermarkets and major chemists, as well as smaller more local stores.

                ~ My Opinion ~

                As soon as I lifted the lid to use this shower cream, the wonderful orange citrus smell hit me, it was fantastic reminding me very much of Body Shop fruity shower products (which I have come to love over the years). The fragrance was quite strong but in a nice way, in that whilst using it left a refreshing and revitalised feeling.

                I found that the cream was of a relatively thick consistency and flowed nicely from the bottle onto my hand. Being white in colour it did look quite luxurious!
                When mixed with water the shower cream lathered with ease and quickly formed small bubbles when on my skin, which because of this I found that I didn't need vast quantities of the cream each shower to do the job.

                As shower creams go, I was really impressed with this one, so much so that I have already bought my next bottle to start on! It has left my skin nice and soft with an almost silky feel. With having sensitive skin I have to watch the products I use, but this has been great with no irritation at all.
                I would most definitely recommend!

                  --------------
                  THE PRICE
                  --------------

                  The usual price of this is around £1.93, but if you look around your stores some where will probably have it on sale.
                  I picked up mine from Wilkinson's for 98p, the bottle contains 250ml of shower gel.

                  ----------------------
                  THE APPEARANCE
                  ----------------------

                  The shower gel comes in a white curved bottle with a light blue flip lid.
                  On the front of the bottle is the Nivea logo and the products name, there is also a picture of an orange with some cream it looks like!
                  On the back is the usual information ( what it does/how to use/ingredients )

                  I don't think the bottle is amazing and lives up to the name HAPPY TIME, it just seems quite plain to me, maybe if it was more bold with its colours I would prefer it, after all it is meant to be a happy time shower gel!

                  NIVEA HAPPY TIME
                  ------------------------

                  Nivea is a well known beauty brand offering a wide range of cosmetics aimed at both men and women.

                  This particular product claims to uplift your mood and make you a happy bunny!

                  The scent of the orange blossom in this gel is meant to stimulate your senses, while the shower cream which contains bamboo milk is meant to leave your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth!

                  ---------------------
                  MY EXPERIENCE
                  ---------------------

                  To use the shower gel, simply pop into the shower squeeze some out on to your shower puff and shower away!

                  The shower cream is white in colour and has a thick texture to it.

                  I use around a 50p size of this shower gel and that usually does from head to toe for me!
                  The cream lathers up quite nicely, feels very creamy on your skin and I love the smell, you can really smell the oranges coming through, smells good enough to eat!

                  The shower gel felt as if it cleaned my skin reasonably well, it did make my skin feel extremely soft whilst on in the shower and also and felt quite moisturising but after I had got out of the shower my skin didn't feel any softer.

                  Did I feel happier? em..nope not really if I am honest!

                  Would I use it again? I would yes! its a fine everyday shower gel and definitely worth the money! However, if I wanted a luxurious shower gel I wouldn't pick this up!

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

                    Lovely in any language!

                    I came across this delightful shower cream whilst working in Spain. I can´t remember just where I bought it but I do know that the name "Happy Time " intrigued me. It seemed such a strange name for a shower cream that I put off buying it for a while. Sometimes if you put a name into a different language it appears more exotic so this would be "Tiempo Felice, Ducha Cremosa "in Spanish. Anyway I relented eventually and I am glad that I did!

                    The packaging.

                    This isn´t really very special, the 250ml bottle is made of white plastic in an oval shape to make it easy to grip with wet hands and has a small flip up top in pale blue plastic which is a good tight fit avoiding spills when it gets knocked over. The top would be better if it was flat so you could stand it upright in the shower.
                    On the front is the Nivea logo in dark blue and white with a silver trim and below this Happy Time in gold and dark blue. Under this is an image, a,swirl of orange and white to portray the ingredients which make Happy Time a bit special, bamboo milk and orange blossom ,or "Leche de bambú and fragancia de Azahar" See what I mean? it sounds even better in another language!
                    On the reverse is a description of the product which claims to give you a smooth and soft skin and (in Spanish) makes you feel like a new-born baby after each shower!There also appears the list of ingredients which I won´t bore you with but I can spot the bamboo and the citrus in the list.

                    The product.

                    Once you are ready to go and all soaky in the shower, flip open the top and you get a definite orange scent that is really pleasant. You only need a little blob of the creamy white, silky lotion on a sponge and you get Lots of foam. One small blob is easily enogh for me so 250ml is going to last me a long time. You feel very nice and clean after rinsing off and courtesy of the bamboo milk, smooth skin too. The gentle fragrance lasts on the skin overnight if you you shower in the evening and throughout the day if it is a morning shower.

                    My opinion.

                    A really nice surprise, a reasonable priced shower cream which feels much more expensive than it is. Dash out and get some. It is currently on offer at 72p for 250ml at Tesco.

                    It is also ph balanced and dematologically tested and once open lasts 12months. For more info check out the www.nivea.com web site which is absolutely huge and international, I was amazed!

                    4 stars from me, an almost perfect product.

                    Thanks for reading my review which may also be posted on Ciao as splishsplash. ¡Adios!
