I bought this whilst I was working away in Greece after trying the Lynx Rise Bodyspray and liked it. They say "there is nothing quite like the Lynx effect" and that is quite true with this one, one of many in the Lynx bodyspray and shower gel family. Lynx, also known as Axe outside of the UK, has been around for 30 years so it makes me feel confident that's its a decent & also safe product to use, it's also part of the Unilever group which owns many other famous brands like Dove, Hellmans, Lux, PG Tips, Ben & Jerrys... I like it being part of a big group as it gives me confidence in the product. I got this after buying the Lynx Rise Bodyspray and it gives the same zesty fresh feeling, to make you awake and alert for the day ahead, it's smooth on the body and feels you feel really clean and ready for anything the day may throw at you. Would highly recommend to feel sexy and fresh for a day or night out.
Like other male grooming products there are limited brand choices when it comes to everyday essentials with Lynx, in my opinion, offering the most choice from their vast selection of products. I use Lynx shower gel simply because there aren't a lot of reasonably priced options available for men, "Original Source" is probably my favourite brand but I'm not one to pass up a bargain so when I saw a number of Lynx shower gel's available from Tesco at just a pound each I took advantage of the offer and stocked up. "Rise" was one of the shower gel's I bought simply because it was a quid, from the description offered it sounded quite nice and so long as it lathered up and did the job it was supposed to do I had no other expectations from it. So, does "Rise" rise to the occasion? "Upifting Lime extract & Himalayan minerals" go into Lynx's Rise according to my bottle and given its almost flourescent yellow colouring I'd say it's pretty eye catching. It smells more like Lemon than Lime to me, a strong citrussy aroma which is perfect for an early morning shower when you're still half asleep and whilst very reminiscent of a similar shower gel from Original Source I do have to concede that this one isn't half bad at all. Lynx have been around long enough now to know what they are doing and Rise is a good example of what shower gel should be, it lathers up very well creating some very nice cleaning suds and its fragrance transfer is impressive with my skin feeling cleaned and refreshed after using it. I do tend to shower on a morning rather than later in the day so like to have a shower gel that wakes me up and this one with its strong aroma certainly helps to clear my head whilst cleaning my body. I'm not quite sure where or what the Himalayan minerals are though, the gel has smooth consistency despite having flecks of what look like blue dots and I thought it might have some exfoliating qualities to it but it doesn't, maybe the blue inclusions are there just for design rather than any extra benefits? Either way Rise, whilst nothing original, is definitely one of the more uplifting fragrances that Lynx produce and as a shower gel it cleans well and has a very nice fragrance to it, what more could anyone ask for. For a quid I have no complaints, because of its gloopy consistency you don't need to add too much gel to a sponge to get a good amount of lather so value for money wise I think it's very good and a bottle should last a good few weeks depending on how often you shower. I like the fragrance and colour and it's one that I would buy again once it reverts back to its proper price of approximately £2.50 when not on offer. If you like the strong fragrances of Original Source shower gel then "Rise" from Lynx is a very good alternative and from me gets 5 stars a rating, thanks for reading my review.
Lynx showergels are on offer more often than Man Utd win games in the fifth minute of injury time. For example, Boots have it for 3 for 2, and Asda are currently selling it at £1 each! Is a special offer not as special when it's on all the time? Perhaps it should be a "not so special offer"? Any how, because it's frequently cheaply available I often use Lynx products, and Lynx Rise is my latest Lynx "find". Please find my review below on the Lynx Rise showergel. The Lynx website advertises this with the slogan "girls like a man who can remember the little details but first thing in a morning that's not always easy - that's why we've created new Lynx Rise showergel". I'm not sure my wife would make the link to my choice of showergel were I to forget our anniversary, but at least it smells good and gives me a bit of a kickstart in the morning. I reckon that the smell gives me that kickstart due to the lime extract, it's definately got a sharp citrus tang to it which does help to make me feel invigorated. There are also Himalayan minerals in the gel, but what these minerals are or do I'm not sure. I think it's part of a ploy to make the showergel sound more exotic and appealing - the town of Buxton produces some outstanding, high quality mineral water but I think that Lynx would sound a bit silly were they to put "contains minerals from Derbyshire" on the label, as beautiful as parts of Derbyshire are. I think the bits of "grit" in the showergel are slightly annoying when I'm rubbing them into my face, they are too scratchy and unwelcome. The appearance of the gel is a warm yellow with the blue bits of grit suspended in it and has the consistency of honey, but not the stickiness. As liquid soaps go, it does remove muck very well and I always feel like I've got a new coat of skin on after using it, it's very refreshing and smells great. I would recommend it to people who like any other citrus based / smelling showergels, but only when on offer as the usual asking price of around £2.50 is a bit steep. There is also a matching deodrant, but I am yet to try this. Thanks for reading.
I love Linx product, I often have them bought for me as gifts at Christmas time or for my birthday. I like most of them and they work very well and ones that I like the smell of too. They are cheap to buy and are super value. This is one that I received as a gift, the bottle size is 250ml and the bottle is a clear plastic and it has a push down top to release the gel. The gel is a bright yellow colour, the gel can be easily squeezed from the bottle onto a sponge. It has a nice fruity smell and it is quite a strong one and can be smelled immediately it is poured onto the sponge. I can detect more of a lemon fragrance with this one. It is not too overpowering but it is a really nice pleasant, refreshing smell. It lathers really well on the sponge and it is such a smooth, rich texture, it does not drip from the bottle as some other brands can do. I find this one rinses well from my body too with no problems. I use this one in the mornings to wake me a little, I find it gives me a nice start to the day and it is very invigorating. The gel is soft on the skin and the sponge just glides across the skin. The smell lasts on the skin for some time after my shower too. This one is very good value for the money and a good quality. Some of my older grandchildren have used this gel recently and it has not irritated their more delicate skin and it has been fine for my skin too. I think this is a good family gel, it is one that I think all the family enjoy using. The brand is a well known one and it has been around for quite some time. This one is one that is very good to use on hot days, I think it is a super gel to help refresh the body when it is feeling a little hotter in the summer months. It certainly has helped refresh my body and skin on hot days recently. The strong aroma of the gel helps for a nice shower any time of the day but especially in the mornings to kick start the day and it certainly does that for me in the mornings. I have used this one in the evenings too but I would say for myself personally it is one that is a morning gel. I cannot fault this gel, I do recommend it for anyone looking for a nice gel and one that works well for the body and gives a good lather. I rate this one 5 stars.
OK, so I am a girl and this is a mens shower gel. But I have to admit that I really like this shower gel! So you are probably wondering how it is that I came about using this shower gel, being a girl, when it is meant to be for men. I didn't just go into Boots looking for a new shower gel and wander down the mens section and pick this out or anything as that would be a bit strange! The reason I used this is because I had ran out of shower gel and the only shower gel/ shower creme/soap that we had left in the bathroom was this one, belonging to my dad. So I had to use this or end up being a sweaty betty. So obviously I chose to use this. I didn't expect to like it, but it turned out that I loved it! I was very surprised to find out that the combination of the Lime Extract and Himalayan minerals which makes up the fragrance, smells really delicious. It is quite manly but it isn't like some mens fragrances which can definitely not be used on women, as it is a little bit fruity. Its sort of a manly fruity kind of smell. I would love this smell on a man and I don't mind it for cleaning myself with either! A great fragrance which gets a thumbs up from me. The consistency of the shower gel is quite thick, it is perfect for making into a nice thick, soapy lather. It is yellow and has small blue beads in but these don't seem to do that much. It cleans really well and you can use your hands to wash with this or you can use an exfoliating glove as well and this works really well and afterwards your skin feels super soft, moisturised and cleansed. Which is surprisingly but it really does seem to moisturise my skin! Like I say I did not buy this myself, but if you are wondering about how much it costs, it is priced quite reasonably in my opinion, as it is around £2.50 for 250ml at full price in Boots, and this is really good value for money as one bottle seems to last ages, much longer than some other shower gels I have used in my time. Overall this is excellent and I can't recommend it enough, more for men than girls though but girls if you want to convince your husband/dad to buy some of this you can sneakily use it yourself!
Basics Lynx Rise Shower Gel is made from Lime Extract and Himalayan minerals, which I have found to be a genius combo. It's about 2.66 GBP for 250ml at Boots at the moment, prices will vary though. It's the best smelling Shower Gel I've ever used! Using It It smells fruity and it's colour is full of energy and it stands out on the shelves. It's really good to use on a morning, the smell really refreshes you and your sinuses feel cleared, like they do when you eat really strong, minty chewing gum! It leaves you feeling cleansed and ready for the day (or night) ahead. It's not as cheap as would be ideal, but it's worth it. The brand is well established in many countries and it's got a great reputation. You don't need to use much of it either, just a small squeeze will get you enough for a good wash and 250ml lasts fo a surprising number of washes! The lid is easily openable in the shower, and flip up with a bit of pressure put into it. It's easy to store in a cupboard because it isn't that tall or thick. The grips on the side have dome in very handy during showers when I have soapy, shampooed, slippy hands that need to grip onto the bottle with a lot of effort; the grips make this easy because they're ergonomically designed to fit the average man's grasp, making it harder for you to drop it and get shower gel everywhere! Woooooo! My View I can't express how overjoyed I was at finding a shower gel that smells so good, I doubt I'll ever change what I use now that I've found this. The Lynx Rise Deodorant is the best too, be sure to try that too, I have! One problem is that I suffer from eczema and dry skin, and after using this I find my skin slightly drier than it was before the shower. But this is solved easily by using moisturiser and it shouldn't put you off buying it. Oh and don't get it in your eyes, it hurts!
