I like this bubble bar very much

WHAT IS IT? A bubble bar from Lush that is shaped to look like a moustache.  It was made for Christmas 2012 and you cannot buy it in Lush shops any more but it is available online.   HOW DO YOU USE IT? Bubblebeard is a bubble bar that comes on a stick.  When you run your bath you wave the moustache end of the stick into your bath water and it will make a lot of bubbles like when you use a normal bubble bar.   When you have used it you put it somewhere to dry so that you can use it again. WHAT I THINK I like Bubblebeard very much and think that it is a good bubble bar.  I get a lot of bubbles when I use it and I like how thick and very soft the bubbles are.  I feel very clean when I wash my skin using the bubbles and it smells very nice also, there is sandalwood in the fragrance and so that makes it smell woody and I think that this bubble bar is suited for men or women because of this fragrance.  It is still feminine so it is suited for ladies who are the people who use Lush the most, but my husband has used it when he has had dry skin and does not say that the fragrance is too feminine for his taste.   My skin does feel very soft and moisturised when I have bathed in Bubblebeard and I like that the bubbles do not disappear quick.  The smell lasts in my bathroom for the whole time and it lasts on my skin also when I get out of the bath, I like that it does not smell very strong on my skin though because I think it would be very over powering if it was any stronger than it is.   I think that it is good value for money because my bar lasted for 7 baths and did not cost very much more than a normal bubble bar from Lush that you can only use for 2 or 3 baths.  The stick broke after the first 2 times because it is very thin like a cocktail stick and that made it hard because then I had to hold the bubble bar in my hand.   ANYTHING ELSE I paid a little bit less than £5 for my Bubblebeard bar and I think that is value because it has lasted for a long time and is very nice to use.   4 Dooyoo Stars.

        Disadvantages

very good for a pamper night, could be more bubbly, but very relaxing nevertheless.

Bubblebeard is in the shape of a white moustache with shimmer on. I especially liked the fact this was reusable; i rarely buy bath bombs because i feel they are a waste for just one bath. This bubble bar contains sandalwood and cedarwood, which are very soothing and relaxing - perfect for a pamper evening. When i swirled this around the bath, the stick broke:( Maybe Lush need to think more about their packaging, i think the moustache was too heavy for such a small little stick. But i loved everything else about the product, the scents were lovely - very calming and not at all overpowering. I felt i got more bubbles from my soap and glory bubble bath however, but this is definitely my second favourite bubble bath. I also loved how i had barely made a dent in the moustache after swirling it around in the water; this will last me a long time! I'm not sure if i will repurchase, purely because i do prefer my soap and glory bubble bath, but if that is ever discontinued, i will be heading to lush to buy this product!

        Festive bubble bar from Lush

Moustaches are everywhere at the moment and Lush have jumped on the bandwagon with one of their Christmas offerings. This reusable bubble bar, which comes on a wooden stick, is in the shape of a moustache - although it is actually named Bubblebeard. The idea is that you get in the bath and use the bubbles to make yourself a beard, completing the look by holding this bar under your nose! The bar was designed with men in mind, although of course women can use it too. It is scented with the same fragrance as the Dirty shaving cream, which I love, so I was really looking forward to trying it. The Dirty fragrance is generally minty but the shaving cream scent is sweeter with a scent of lavender and sandalwood, alongside tonka, tarragon and neroli. It is relaxing and soothing and perfect for a bubble bar. The bar is suitable for vegans and contains scented essential oils as well as cream of tartar and sodium laureth sulfate: the latter has been known to cause skin irritation in some people so you might want to be careful if you have sensitive skin, although it is a popular ingredient in shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath (it creates the foam) and most people are fine with it. The product costs £4.95, which sounds expensive but based on my previous experience with reusable bars is reasonable, as they last for several uses. After using this product once it hardly looked touched. To use the bar, simply hold it under a running tap to let the water take away some of the product. When your desired quantity of bubbles has been produced, put it to one side and let it dry. I find that these bars don't produce as many bubbles as the 'ordinary' bubble bars, but I don't find this too much of a problem. Though I love the smell of this bar, sadly the scent doesn't last all that well in the bath. I get the occasional whiff of lavender, but that's all. The bar is white, so it doesn't colour the water either. After my bath, I can't smell the bar on my skin, which is a shame as it would be a lovely relaxing scent to go to sleep to. On the plus side, a bubble bath is always relaxing, and my skin feels softer after using this. I still need to use body lotion, but not as much as usual. Overall, I am slightly disappointed with this bubble bar. It is a fun shape and smells lovely, but it isn't the most exciting bathing experience. I suppose it comes in handy for a no-frills everyday bath.

        Disadvantages

A very masculine bubble bar, definitely one for the boys as well as girls!

Lush bubblebeard is another bubble bar that was brought to us for the Christmas period by Lush, and only available for a limited time. I first saw this in Lush in November and really wanted to try it as the bubble bars are my favourite products that I often like to buy from Lush, rather than their bath bombs and various other products available. The smell of this bubblebeard was quite different to any of the other bubble bars I had used. The bubble bar comes on a stick, just like the 'Magic wand' bubble bar that smells of candy and is also available to purchase at Christmas. I loved the magic wand last year and it lasted me ages, I got at least 8 baths out of it and so I expected the same from this bubblebeard too. The bar itself is slightly harder than the other bubble bars that you can easily snap in half to get a few uses out of, As this is designed to stay on the stick rather than be snapped off. To use, you swirl the stick around under the hot running tap for a little while. I tend to check on my bath after a little while as if there aren't many bubbles then I will swirl this under the tap again to create more before I get in. I found using this bubble bar quite different to the magic wand. I seemed to be needing to hold it and swirl it under the running tap for a lot longer. Although the smell was very strong and hits you straight away after using it, I couldn't create as many bubbles as I would usually get from the magic wand, or any of the other bubble bars I have used. You do get a lot of bubbles in the end, which is just how I like my baths, but you do need to use the wand for longer and so as a result you don't get as many uses out of the bubblebeard as you would expect. The bubble bars that come on a stick are designed to be reusable and so are priced higher than the other standard bubble bars in Lush. Therefore you want to get as many baths from them as possible! After use you are meant to dry this and then keep it somewhere until you next use it. I struggle to dry this though, I am not exactly sure how you are meant to do that without wasting some of the bubble bar in the process. I just keep mine on the side of the bath at the back where no water is likely to hit it. When I next went to use the bubble bar I noticed that the top half of the beard had came apart from the bottom half and so was no longer attached to the stick. I therefore just held it under the running tap with my hand. I think if they changed the shape of the bubble bar slightly it may have been able to stay on the stick for longer, my magic wand managed to stay on the stick for quite a few uses. Now for the smell. As I briefly mentioned this is different to the other bubble bars I have used and I think it is quite a masculine scent. The main ingredient is sandalwood which can be found in mens aftershave and so if you are a fan of masculine scents then you will love this. I do think a lot of the products from Lush are 'girly' and so it is good that there is a one that would be suitable for both girls and boys. The sandalwood scent is very noticeable and seems to linger in the bathroom for a while. Unfortunately the scent doesn't linger on your skin for very long. I have always felt that if you want a Lush product so that the scent stays on your skin after a bath, then the bath bombs do a better job at this. I love my bubbles though and the scents from the bubble bars are strong and noticeable whilst you are in the bath, so I just enjoy it while it lasts! The bubble bars not only create a lot of bubbles, but they stay in the bath for ages too. I almost feel guilty getting out of the bath as there is always lots of bubbles left still, even after having used soap etc which usually makes them disappear! Overall I do like this bubble bar it is just a shame you can't get as many baths out of it as the magic wand which is priced the same at £4.95. I bought my bubblebeard on Boxing Day in the sale at half this price so I cannot whinge too much about how many uses I got out of it. In total I got 5 baths out of mine. This is still a lot, but if you want value for money you may want to stick to a different bubble bar where a little goes a long way. The shape of this bubble bar was designed to be a beard like Santa Claus'. Printed on the stick is 'swish to make bubbles for beards'. However, as this was brought out in November, instead it just seemed more like a moustache to me and reminded me of pirates rather than Christmas time!

A nice unisex sort of smelling reusable bubble bar from Lush

Lush Bubble Beard This is one of the Christmas releases for 2012 and is called bubble beard but in my mind it is more like bubble moustache but never mind. I think they had an idea that this moustache would create enough bubbles to enable you to make a bubble beard to go with it! It went quite nicely with 'Mo'vember though and that is when I got mine for my birthday and I have just used it for the last time last bath. This costs £4.95 and weighs about WHAT IS BUBBLE BEARD? This is one of the more lasting bubble wands that Lush create from time to time. They are harder than the bubble bars and last at least four of five bath times depending on how bubbly you like your baths. When I got my fist bubble wand I was concerned that it would go on dissolving after I had used it but it doesn't at all. You just use it then put it in a soap dish on the side till you want to use it again. The bubbly making part is fixed to a stick and at the end is a lollipop shaped rounded part so that the bubble making bar stays put right to the end. The actual stick is quite thin so that you can wave it around in the bath to make the bubbles. I find the stick is a little too thin as this bar is quite heavy and with such a thin stick it is hard to get it shaken in the water. WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE? This is one of Lush's more masculine or unisex smells in my opinion. It has a fresh clean herby sort of scent. The smells in this are Cedarwood, sandalwood and tonka but to me I smelled herbs like sage , thyme and basil however it is not a bowl you over scent in this. It is subtle and pervades your skin but doesn't fill the surrounding room as much as other Lush scents do. I can't say I could really detect the sandalwood which is one of my all time favourite smells but maybe when mixed with others you get this fresh herby aroma. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? Well it looks rather like a white or silvery moustache and quite a large one and this is stuck on the end of a thin wooden stick. It has a sort of slightly sparkly look to it and possibly it is meant to be the moustache of the jolly man in a red suit! WAHT DO YOU DO WITH IT? This is one of the re usable bubble wands and the idea is you swizzle it around under the taps as the bath is filling and that way lots of bubbles are created. The actual bubble quantity and thickness will depend on the hardness of your water but I managed to get five baths from this bar which works out at about £1 a bath so not a cheap bath but a very nice treat and one of the more unisex smells that lush have done for Christmas this year . WHAT IS IN THIS ONE? Well looking at the ingredients I was correct about the herby scents as I see there is Tarragon oil and Thyme absolute as well as lavender oil and neroli oil. Also of course there is Sandalwood oil but no mention of cedarwood at all or tonka which is strange as it is in the product description. A[part from these we have the bubble ingredient of sodium laureth sulphate and also sodium carbonate and cream of tartar for water softening and then some other bits and finally snowflake lustre which must be the sparkly element to this one. Tarragon oil is beneficial as it is a natural antibacterial, anti-cancerous ( skin and cervical), anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antiseptic, antiparasitic, and a stimulant. Sandalwood is said to have these properties as an essential oil anti septic, anti inflammatory, astringent, disinfectant, emollient, memory booster and a sedative. Thyme oil is supposed to help with asthma and coughs and is another natural antiseptic. Lavender of course is relaxing as well as also being a natural ant septic and helps relieve skin sores.l Neroli is uplifting and smells like orange. Not so keen on the sodium laureth sufate as it is still not fully regarded as safe by some but i leave that to you to decide for yourselves. IS THIS ONE TO BUY AGAIN? I liked the fresh uplifting clean scent and thought the amount of bubbles was okay but I am not sure that it is quite such good value as lush like to convince us as I got five averagely bubble baths from mine but if I had wanted really thick fluffy bubbles then I would have only got three baths at most. It left me feeling clean and smelling good. The smell didn't carry much beyond the bathroom with this one and it was not evident on my skin for long after I was dry. I felt quite nice and moisturised after my bath and my skin was not at all dry and tight. I do suffer from eczema but have not had any problems when using this but my step daughter does have a problem with Lush bubble bars so beware. So in short this smells good, not sweet and girly at all much more herby and okay for girls and boys to use. It didn't get soggy between uses and I just left it on the bath side between uses. That didn't smell that strong either and usually lush bubble bars really smell strong when sitting in my bathroom. I am not sure I will be rushing to buy this one again as although it was very nice Lush have so many other products that I want to try and this is not really one of my favourites that I have tried. So if you like Lush products then give it a try, it is nice and fresh smelling but for the price i was hoping for more bubbles in my five baths. Thanks for reading.
