I absolutely love the fresh zingy citrus scent you get from this shower gel ! It wakes you straight up in the morning with a smile on your face clears all your senses ready for a busy day ahead. The Grapefruit and Lemongrass match each other perfectly. This is the perfect shower gel for waking you up and leaving your senses alert and wide awake. It's slightly expensive coming in at around £3.50. It may not last very long as you'll love the fresh feeling it gives you so much you'll probably use it every morning as do I. It really bubbles up so you only need a 10p size amount on your sponge to get an all over body wash. I would highly recommend this product to any consumer. You will love the clean fresh citrus smell that fills the entire bathroom and the silky smooth texture of your skin once your dry.
=== The product === This is a body wash scented with lemongrass & grapefruit fragrances. === The packaging === This body wash comes provided in a plastic bottle. There is a nice shape to it that makes the bottle easy to pick up, even with wet hands. There is a plastic flip top lid on the top that has a little groove in it making it easy to flick open, again, even with wet hands. === How to use this === This can be used in your hand, with a flannel, bath lily or almost anything else you want to use to create a nice lather and wash yourself with. It is very simple to use and if you really wanted to you could wash your hair with this if you were caught short, like any body wash really. === Where can I buy this and for how much? === This can be purchased, in a 250ml bottle, from Asda stores or www.asda.co.uk for £2.30. There is a special offer of 2 for £3.00 at present (August 2011). I am sure when I purchased this that I paid just £1.00 for it during one of the 'big clean' promotions that Asda often run. === Overall opinion === This body wash is wonderful! As soon as I flip open the lid I get a perfume filled scent fill my nostrils. On my second sniff I can pick up a citrus kind of scent with an almost spicy scent to it. It's quite a strong, heady scent but one that I really like. When I pour some of this out it's a little strange in appearance. It is a clear liquid that's quite thick in texture. Within the liquid there are lots of very small white and orange coloured flecks. These small flecks give this liquid an exfoliating property to it. Each little fleck will scrub the skin gently but without causing redness or irritation. These little flecks feel fantastic when they are rubbed against my skin and make my skin feel soft and smooth afterwards. When I use this body wash it lathers up very well. It produces lots of wonderful bubbles that are delicious scented and make my skin feel and look amazing. The scent of this body wash is wonderful, it's quite a strong lemongrass scent but the grapefruit can be picked up too. It's quite a strong citrus scent and the two compliment each other very well. When I use this directly on the skin I can still smell it on me several hours later which is always a good sign. I like to feel like I am clean the whole day through, particularly at this time of year, and this body wash is fantastic at achieving that. The only downside I can think of with this body wash is that if some is left around the lid it becomes all dry and yucky but this is easily solved or avoided by giving it a wipe with a damp flannel or just not being as messy when pouring it out!
This product smells fantastic! It's got quite a strong fruity smell, leaving no need for perfumes, having a shower alone is enough. I love getting into the shower and using this body wash simply because of the smell, it creates a refreshing and revitalizing atmosphere, and the fun fruity smell gets you prepared for the day with an extra bounce in your step! This body wash says it energizes, and it does! It is something to get out of bed for in the morning! The grapefruit and lemongrass scent is citrusy, and smells exotic! Enough about the smell, I could go on... The product is available in a 250ml, retailing around £2-£3. You only need a small amount to lather into your skin to leave it feeling fresh and intensely moisturized. The gel feels light and silky, and it leaves your skin feeling the same. The body wash also has fine beads within in it, which are more subtle than using a proper scrub, yet still make your skin feel a bit shiny and new. The product is a quarter moisturizing cream which is why it feels so great for your skin, leaving it nourished and hydrated. While the product isn't the cheapest body wash on the market, it by no means has a premium price either, yet the indulgence you feel when using this product cannot be denied. Be nice to your skin, treat it to Dove Energizing Body Wash, giving you the kick start you need to your day. It's a lovely treat for your senses too.
It's been years since I used any Dove products, but when my daughter started using some of their "go fresh" line and bought the Grapefruit and Lemongrass one, I decided I should give them a try again. This is mostly because I happen to like the scent of grapefruit in the perfumes I wear and thought this would make a nice compliment to them. First, let's get the bad news out of the way. I have to say that I'm not terribly pleased with the packaging. While the bottle looks nice, they are a bit hard to hold onto in the shower. This is because they're fairly wide and smooth, making them tend to be slippery when your hands are wet. Also, when you're nearing the end of the contents, there's no way to stand it on its head to make sure you can get the last bits out. I find this both slightly inconvenient and potentially wasteful, which is something I hate. However, what's more important is the product itself. To start with, I found that the scent here was nicely acidic, with the tang of the grapefruit mostly prominent. There is a slightly sweet undertone here as well, which almost makes one think of a lemon ice lolly, but it is mostly hidden underneath the slightly spicy lemongrass and the tangy grapefruit. As far as scents are concerned, I found this very refreshing and well suited to using on hot summer days. Thankfully the smell isn't overpowering and you probably won't detect it on yourself for very long after you're dry. While this isn't ideal if you really adore this scent, the advantage here is that it won't clash with your favourite perfume. The texture of this body wash was a little bit of a surprise. If you put it on a flannel or other type of bath sponge, you'll certainly get a huge amount of lather. The suds are very luxurious and creamy, giving you an experience that is most pleasant. However, what you'll miss by doing this is the fact that there are tiny scrubbing particles in the product which you'll feel only if you use this directly on your skin. These tiny scrubbers aren't in the least unpleasant and have a way of waking up your skin. In addition, while you won't get quite as much lather using this method, you will be able to feel just how creamy this shower gel really is, which combines nicely with the feeling that you're delicately exfoliating your skin. I found this to be exactly what they label it as - that is: energizing. Finally, this washes off very nicely leaving you feeling very clean. There is some moisturizer in this product to help soften your skin, but you won't feel greasy after using this. This doesn't mean your skin will feel dried out like with some soaps. The overall feeling on your skin after you've used this is very natural, soft and refreshed. If I had to sum it up in one word, I'd say this shower gel will leave your skin feeling comfortable. Except for the problem with the packaging, I have to say that my overall impression here was more than satisfactory. This is a good product for people who want a shower gel that feels rich, lathers nicely and has a great summery scent that will wake them up and make them feel refreshed. Plus, the price is very reasonable, and as it comes from Dove, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. In all, I give Dove's Go Fresh Energize Grapefruit and Lemongrass Body Wash four out of five stars and certainly recommend it. For quickness most nights before I go to bed I have a quick shower. I'm a fan of baths really but only when I have the time and so some nights I do like to have a quick freshen up before I go to bed. Dove has long been a brand that I've been a fan of for years now. I think Dove offers superior quality products and its one of my favoured brands. More often than not Dove body washes on offer in my local Asda store at a pound a bottle (if not on offer expect to pay more like £2.00 a bottle in all good chemists and supermarkets and the likes). The Packaging: I bought this in a 250ml size which is a white tear shaped bottle with an integrated yellow flip-top lid concealing a small hole to the top of it and on the front of the bottle there is a picture of a slice grapefruit and some lemongrass and we are told that it is Dove 'Go Fresh' Nourishing Body Wash 'Energise' Grapefruit & Lemongrass Scent 'Nutrium Moisture'. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients and the size is stated, contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of the product) are given and lots of that information is also listed in lots of foreign languages too. Nice, simple and very unisex looking bottle of product this is. A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle: Sparkling refreshment that effectively nourishes skin. The sparkling scent of grapefruit & lemongrass. Enriched with our breakthrough NutrimMoisture, to nourish while you shower for longer lasting more beautiful skin. Using It: Well all you need is a very small amount of the light yellow coloured creamy body wash per application. It lathers up easily and has very small easy to rinse off tiny bits in it that act as little scrubbers on the skin that feel gentle but can be felt when using it. This has a gorgeous, unisex fragrance to it of zesty grapefruit and lemongrass which is really well blended and natural. It is great to shave your bits and bobs with (ladies!), leaves skin feeling soft and rejuvenated but although I love the initial clean scent this has to it sadly it isn't strong enough to linger on my skin for above half an hour sadly though to be fair to it I do feel fresh and very clean after using it. However even at £2.00 a bottle you get plenty of washes with this out of a 250ml bottle and I have to say that like all other Dove products I have used in the past (and still do) it really is very kind and nourishing to the skin without it being greasy or owt adverse! I wish the initial scent lingered longer on my skin as it isn't strong enough however it is a really nice touch of quality to use daily in your shower anyway! Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
