Excellent value for money. Buy from www.tomy.co.uk for best price!

I recently purchased the Tomy Toddle n Ride for my son. The guidelines state that it is suitable from 12 months onward, however with similar products stating a guideline age of 10 months onward, I decided to let him experiment with it under supervision.

The Tomy Toddle n Ride is currently available from Amazon at £34.99, however I bought this item at just £14.99 direct from Tomy's website (www.tomy.co.uk), saving £20! The description on Tomy's website states that the low price is due to slightly damaged packaging although the product itself is in perfect condition. When mine arrived however the packaging was in fact intact, as was the item.

The Tomy Toddle n Ride begins as a push along walker. It has a squeaking horn at the top and an easy to grip handle bar. The wheels are spaced a good distance apart to give the baby plenty of room to walk. At the front is a panel which has a snail who's shell spins when the body of the snail is pulled down, ladybird who's legs spread out when pressed, a caterpillar telephone and a butterfly with a tail which when pulled makes it's wings flap. It is brightly coloured without being overbearingly so. There are no electronic sounds or lights on this toy.

Assembly is very straight forward. There are no small parts whatsoever, each part is chunky and made of plastic and no tools are needed. This is the kind of straightforward toy I like!

When your child is older the walker easily converts into a trike with a bucket at the back. I recently bought my son a trike for just under £55 therefore I believe this product is excellent value for money!

We have only had this product for a short period of time and therefore I cannot accurately judge it's durability. What I can say is that so far my son has been absolutely fascinated by it. He will however often get distracted by the toys at the front and lean over whilst trying to walk. He also attempts to walk with it the opposite way to that intended. I guess he is just being experimental!

I would recommend this toy for anyone looking for a good, simple and sturdy walker for their child.

Very unstable in ride on mode, especially when handle bars are turned to full lock. My daughter went over the handle bars fequently when stood next to it or trying to ride it. So I returned it before she got hurt.

A great toy that changes as your child groes!

Tomy Toddle 'n' ride is a great versatile toy suitable for children from about twelve months onwards. In fact it is really two toys in one, as you start with a baby walker that, when your child is bigger, turns into a little trike.

When you first get the toy and open the box it comes in, you are confronted with a number of sturdy plastic pieces which have to be assembled in order to construct the baby walker. This is no problem though as the instructions are incredibly clear, all pieces are numbered and it is virtually impossible to go wrong! In fact it was so straightforward that my eight year old nephew assembled it for me! You don't even need any additional tools to put it together! There are no tiny pieces either.

Once it is assembled, your baby has a brightly coloured, sturdy little walker that will help him to wander about the house at a steady pace growing in confidence as he goes. It is quite chunky, with plastic wheels, which on carpet do not move too quickly - this is a very good thing when your baby starts to set off on the move! I did have another baby walker which moved a bit quicker, and tended to leave my little girl behind! Not a good start when you are just embarking on walking!

The walker also comes with a little horn that your baby can press to let you know that he is coming! Both my daughters had great fun with this, and it was lovely to see the proud looks on their faces as they realised that they were finally on the move! The front of the walker consists of a bright panel with a phone and three brightly coloured insects. All the insects move or spin depending whether you push, pull or flick them - this helps your baby to start to manipulate small things! I like the fact that this panel is also removable which means that your baby can just play with it separately. I used to find that it fitted quite well on the tray of a highchair so I could use it to entertain while I was finishing off getting tea ready!

Obviously though, these baby walkers have a limited life span because, once your baby can start walking on his own he's not going to be interested in this! However, instead of relegating it to the loft, it can transform into the next stage toy - a lovely little first trike! All you have to do is to take everything apart and then put all the components back together in a different way! - Very clever! Again, this is fairly straightforward as the instructions are so clear - in fact my nephew had no trouble at all!

Once you have created the transformation, there is a lovely little three wheeler trike that your toddler can use to propel himself along, and there are even enough pieces to make a trailer too! This trike is really suitable for both indoors on the carpet or outdoors on the grass so it can really be used all year round! Both my daughters loved this aspect of the toy as well and my twenty one month old still used it regularly.

As I have already mentioned it is both sturdy and hard wearing and very easy to clean. The toy does also come with certain safety warnings, most of which are common sense. Always supervise your child, only one rider at a time (not that I can see how two would fit anyway!) and not suitable for children over three.

My daughters like this toy because it is colourful and fun, and I like it because it is simple, versatile and helps develop their confidence as early walkers. It's RRP is £24.99 which I feel is quite good value for money, especially when you consider that you are really getting two toys in one!

A great multi-activity toy that changes as quickly as kids do! Toddle n’ Ride starts life as a sturdy walker helping 12 month olds get more confident on their feet. The removable activity board features squeakers, spinners and a telephone, and underneath there’s a secret storage compartment. As the child starts toddling, the walker converts easily to a three wheel sit-and-ride trike – it’s fully steerable and features a trailer and horn!
