“ Brand: Little Tikes / Age: 12 months „
This was a Christmas present for our son from his grandma. It arrived in our house gift wrapped in the box ready to open on Christmas day. On Christmas day I had to abandon putting it together to cook lunch and entertain guests. It did take me several days to put together but I think if you had a few hours you could probably do it in one go especially if you are not a dizzy blonde like me!
This is a well made sturdy toy truck from the Little Tikes Toy Company
Who is it for- children from 12-36 months though I have to say this will probably appeal to boys more than girls as it is a truck
What is it- This is a truck that can be used three ways
1) As a ride on both indoors and outdoors. In this mode the truck dumper part is securely clipped in the upright position and the bottom part of the dumper acts as a backrest for the child . My son has only really used this indoors so far and loves pushing himself around on it, after the initial bit where he would only go backwards and not steer it he is finally getting used to steering it round corners which is great for our walls and furniture.
2) It can be used with the truck dumper part upright as a push along as the picture advertising this shows my son often pushes it around like this.
3) The dumper part can be locked down and the handle extended to be a pull along toy. The dumper can then filled with toys to be pushed around. My son loves putting balls, toys, teddies in and out of it and taking them all for a ride around the house. At the moment he pushing this from behind and we haven't used the extending handle component that the steering wheel forms as yet as I don't think he quite got the co-ordination to use it in that mode as yet.
The truck has six wheels and is very stable for little ones to use. The steering wheel that does actually steer, has several buttons that when pressed play 7 different truck sounds including noise of an engine a horn and reversing noise. More importantly for parents there is and on off switch too!
Where from- the only place I have seen this toy is from www.adventuretoys.co.uk and it cost £19.99
I do this this toy is value for money and my son loves playing with it and I can see that he wont get bored with it for a long time yet. I would definitely recommend getting it. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is that it is a little bit fiddly to put together.
This toy grows with baby through the walking stages to the pulling stages and finally as a ride-on.
