My daughter got a new doll a few months back as a present for her little brother arriving so this Christmas she received a lot of doll related gifts. She loves playing with her little brothers car seat and putting her teddys in it and playing with the fastenings so I thought a car seat of her own would be perfect. Her grandparents picked this one from The Early Learning Centre cup cake range. The car seat only cost £12 and I can see why. Sometimes your child receives a present that they absolutely love and will play with regardless of what you think about it which is great for them but this is really not one of my favourite toys at all. The car seat is made of a very thin plastic and is quite flimsy. This is a good thing when it comes to your child carrying it around as my little girl can pick this up easily and carry it and her doll around well. She loves this because she can pretend she is taking her baby out and loves carrying it around but for me I just think it is quite cheap feeling and looking. I think the thin plastic obviously didn't cost much to make and it shows. This causes the car seat to sit awkwardly on its bottom and is quite unstable, maybe I am comparing it to my own proper car seat but I think there are better made toys on the market for not much more money. The car seat comes with a material on it which has a nice pattern. It is pink with different coloured spots on it and there is also a strip up the middle that has cupcake pictures on it. The material however in my opinion is again quite cheap looking and feeling and I think this could have been made better as well. The material has some blue straps on it that are to secure the baby in but these just go over its legs and there are not arm strips so it is not that authentic and is probably just there for show. There is a sunshade that folds up and down. This has a bit of fabric over it too which is held on with Velcro. The back part is gathered so this is meant to hold the sunshade over the back of the car seat but unfortunately it doesn't and it keeps on coming unhooked which actually really frustrates my little girl and I keep on having to put it back for her. In conclusion if you are looking for a cheap car seat to keep your little one entertained then this car seat will do but if you are looking for something a bit more well made then I would say avoid this.
