I have a three year old son, who has been driving me crazy for a tractor for a long while. I have looked in alot of the high street stores and founf nothing suitable, as they tend to be either too big, with the pedals too far from where his legs end! or else they are not made of very good quality. This tractor from the early learning centre is both robust and well designed, and I shall probably be purchasing one for ihs lordship!

We had been looking for a well made tractor and trailer for our 2 year old for Christmas, as he is a maniac as far as tractors go. Having looked around Argos, Toy'R'Us and other toy shops we were not impressed with eiher the prices or the quality. That was until I read on here I might add, about the Early Learning Centres tractor and trailer set. Off I dashed to their site, I was astounded at what I saw! ~~~A GREAT BIG GREEN AND YELLOW TRACTOR~~~ Ok sorry to get excited BUT it was exactly what we were looking for and within the price range we could afford, at £40. This compared very favourably with the prices in Toys'R'us as their tractors and trailers started at £50 and went up.........sharply. The next availiable Saturaday we went into Nottingham (big mistake) with 2 year old in tow (bigger mistake), made a bee line for the ELC to find a badly battered box containing the coveted tractor and trailer. Unfortunately there wasn't a demonstration model avaliable, as they had just sold it, so I asked if I could remove what was left of the box. No problem said the very helpfull assistant and even helped me. After making sure all parts we there and repacking what we could, we left the shop only £35 lighter (£5 discount as the box was badly damaged). Trying to put the tractor together was great fun....I dont think! It took at least 30 minutes to get the steering wheel hooked onto the wheels so that they turned. Eventually we managed, and nothing will separate the two! The wheels are in credibly thick on both the tractor and the trailer, thus providing a wide base, so no overturning by excited children. The stickers on the tractor are easy to apply and look pretty good. Hopefully they will last, as the tractor lives outside. It is now february and they are still insitu! The seat is huge! Big enough for Grandpa to have several turns around the garden, although he was too big to put his feet on the pedals! The beauty of this seat is that it is adjustable, it moves back so when James is older and his legs longer he will still be able to ride on it. The trailer is almost as long as the tractor, so unless you have a huge house, don't be tempted to keep it inside like we did! It is a little fiddly to attach the trailer, as it requires lifting and pushing down all at once, but once attached, it is very stable. There is a lift up drop down gate at the back to allow easy entry for clothes, stones, cats, hosepipes, anything that is lying around the garden long enough for a 2 year old to pick up. At the moment James is not quite able to pedal the tractor being only just over two years. BUT he LOVES it, in fact he sat on it most of Christmas day! It now lives outside, and he has to say good morning and good night to it every day! All in all a very solid piece of plastic, that I would recommed is well worth £40 or £35 in our case. I am certain sure it will last for years, and we will be able to pass on to someone else still in pretty good condition. The reason behind my comment on would I purchase this product again, definatley not, it is so well made I don't think I would have to.

If you are looking for an excellant sit and ride toy, then look no further than Early Learning Centre. I have just bought a Country Tractor from there for my three year old. The Tractor comes complete with a trailer,in bright green and yellow colours, very eye catching. Its pedal driven and the seat can actually be adjusted to suit a growing child, changing the height and length positions. This is a brillant idea as children obviously vary in leg lengths so this should pose no problem. I have to say thats something I have not come accross before on an item like this. The whole set is made of the strongest plastic,so I will be expecting this Tractor to last for a long time. The wheels are nice and chunky, thats good as my son is less likely tip it over if going quite fast. It is recommended for children age two and upwards,I would imagine quite a bit upwards too,as the frame is pretty large. My son will I know, have hours of fun with this Tractor and He will also have fun filling up the trailer, good for his already establised imagination. The whole set summed up pure quality !!!
