“ Brand: Bruin / Age: 12 months / Type: Playsets „
When I was shopping for Jaydens Christmas presents me and my Mum were having a look in Toys R Us, we were actually looking for a couple of Peppa Pig items we wanted to get when I spotted the Bruin Farm Tractor and Trailer Set, it was extremely cute and I knew Jayden would love it so I had to get it for him as an extra Christmas present.
The Bruin Farm Tractor and Trailer Set consists of and blue tractor with bright orange wheels and attached to the back is a bright yellow trailer again with matching bright orange wheels, the trailer also has green fencing down the side of it. The tractor is made to be quite realistic with headlights, a funnel on the top and other tractor features on the sides of it. The Tractor and Trailer is driven by Bruin Bear, who is a cute little yellow bear dressed as a farmer in a bright blue top and an orange hat, in the trailer are 5 farm animals including a cow, a horse, a sheep, a chicken and a pig, all of the animals and Bruin Bear can be removed from the tractor and trailer so that your child can play with them both in the tractor and out of it. All parts of this set are made from a tough durable plastic so that it will not get broken easily, there are no real small parts that can snap off during play either.
The main features of the Bruin Tractor and Trailer Set include, when the funnel on the top of the tractor is pressed the engine will start and the tractor and trailer will start to move along the floor on its own, it is able to move up to 3m and has an automatic stop feature. If you press the steerling wheel of the tractor the horn of the tractor is sounded and the headlights flash. Another feature of this set is when Bruin Bear is pressed down when sitting in the tractor the song Old MacDonald Had a Farm is play, also when each animal in the trailer is pressed down they will make their sound.
The Bruin Farm Tractor and Trailer Set is designed for children ages 12 months plus, it is of a good size measuring 19x41x16cm, it is nice and chunky making it easy for little hands to hold and move around without being too heavy. Everything is smooth and rounded so there is nothing that your child cant hurt themselves on. The tractor and trailer set takes 3AA batteries which are included, these are described as demo batteries and we had to change these just a few days after Christmas as they started to run out, and whilst the music would play and the animals would make a noise etc the tractor would not move along the floor, the batteries are located in a compartment underneath which is screwed in place so that your child cannot get to them.
This toy does have some educational value to it, it will help your child to recognise different animals and they sounds that they make, along with helping to develop hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills by moving the animals in and out of their correct places within the trailer. This is also ideal for imaginative play.
The Bruin Farm Tractor and Trailer is available from Toys R Us, which is where we purchased it from, it is sold for £19.99, personally I think this is excellent value for money and when I first spotted this toy I was expecting it to be sold for money than this, in my opinion it is well worth the money.
Jayden now loves his Bruin Tractor and Trailer set, the first day he had it I made it move along on its own and he seemed a bit nervous of it, but he soon came round and now loves taking the animals and Bruin Bear in and out of the tractor and presses them to make the animal sounds. Jayden actually already knew the sounds that the animals in the trailer made, however this does encourage him to practise them.
In my opinion this toy is excellent value for money and not something that your child will grow out of very quickly. Jayden also loves pushing the tractor and trailer around the floor along with his other cars and vehicles he has. If I had to mention one problem with this toy is would be the colour of the animals, these are not realistic at all for example the cow is purple, the horse is orange and the chicken is green with purple feet, however this is not a problem for us at all and I think it is the bright colours that draws Jaydens attention to it as it is very colourful. Overall I would highly recommend the Bruin Tractor and Trailer Set to anyone, it is ideal for both boys and girls.
My son was lucky enough to receive this tractor and trailer set by Bruin for his first birthday. Looking online, it retails at around £16.99 which, whilst pricey for a children's toy, I believe is good value. It is for children aged 12 months plus.
The toy is a fairly large (dimensions: 19 x 41 x 16cm) plastic tractor and trailer that comes with a driver (a bear) and five farmyard animals that sit in little holes in the trailer. The animals contained are: a pig, cow, hen, horse and sheep. The toy runs on 4 AA batteries (batteries are included). By pushing down the funnel at the front of the tractor, the tractor rolls forward and makes an engine noise. The steering wheel can be pushed to make the headlights on the front light up. The tractor moves forward 3m before coming to a stop, although if the funnel is pressed again it will also stop.
The tractor is a bright pea green colour with yellow wheels that have black rubber grips around them. The trailer is yellow with green fencing and green wheels. In the trailer, there are five sets of paw print holes with little buttons in. The animal figures fit neatly into their own holes and are held securely. When they are pressed down, they push on the buttons and the relevant animal noise is made. The driver slots neatly into the driver's seat and, when pushed down, says 'Hey, I'm Old MacDonald' and Old MacDonald's Farm plays.
The animal figures are brightly coloured and lightweight. They are made from a smooth plastic with rounded edges.
My son was initially attracted to the toy because of the bright colours and the little animal figures. He wasn't so sure of the movement at first, mainly due to the noise that it makes whilst moving - the engine noise is fairly loud. However, he quickly came round to this and loved to watch it roll over the floor. He soon learned that pushing the funnel would stop and start this movement and enjoys controlling this. I think his favourite part of the toy is the detachable animals and he enjoys pulling these out of the trailer and holding them in his hand or exploring them with his mouth.
At one year, he lacks the co-ordination to slot the animals back into their positions in the trailer so, to make the animal noises, we have to play together. He enjoys this though and laughs as the noises are made. He also enjoys the music that the tractor plays and is able to set this off himself.
This is a toy that my son will keep returning to and he is always excited when it comes out. He enjoys playing with it for a few minutes at a time - it doesn't engage him for much longer than this - but will return to it constantly throughout the day.
This is a lovely toy that is well made and well thought out. It is educational too and can be used to teach my son his animals as well as the noises they make. Personally, I would have preferred if the animals were a little more realistic and the colours they would actually be - for example, the cow is purple and the horse orange with a green mane. However, I can understand that the bright colours are good for attracting the child's attention and stimulating them. I love that the animals have their own slots in the trailer and, as my son develops, this will encourage him to improve his co-ordination skills and place them into their slots. The toy also teaches him about cause and consequence as he has quickly learned that if he pushes the funnel the tractor moves forward and makes a noise.
I was pleased that the toy moves well not only on our hard wood flooring but also on the carpet - although a lot less well on our longer rugs and the batteries seem to last well too. The automatic stop feature is also a good point as we have toys without this that come up against something (usually the sofa) and the wheels keep clicking away - very annoying!
For the price, I think this is good value as it is nicely made and there are a few things for the child to do. The animals themselves can also be played with separately - for example we have a farm set that these can be added to. My son loves the animals and I think this is a toy he will play with for many months to come.
As a mother of two daughters - 5 years old and almost 2 years old - I live in a house filled with toys, most of which are plastic and noisy - you get used to it! Some of my eldest daughters toys were robust enough to get handed down to her sister, but some weren't. If I was planning to have any more children (which I'm not!) I imagine this Bruin tractor and trailer set could have happily been handed down, as it is great quality.
We picked up this play set for my youngest daughter's first birthday from Toys R Us. It is by the Bruin brand, which is Toys R Us own brand, similar to St Michaels in Marks & Spencer. We paid around £13 for this set and thought it was great value.
For that price you get a large (19 x 41 x 16cm) plastic tractor with attached trailer, five plastic animals (chicken, horse, pig, cow and sheep) which all fit into their own slots in the trailer, lights and sounds on the tractor, associated animal noises when the animals are correctly slotted into their place, AND the tractor plays Old MacDonald and actually moves when you press the button! Now what toddler is going to be able to resist that!
As mentioned there is a shape matching element to the set, whereby the animals only fit in one space each in the trailer, so need to be fitted into the right one before the child gets to hear the right sound. When the child pushes the seat in the tractor cab it plays Old MacDonald. When the steering wheel is pushed it makes a honking noise ad the front headlights flash. When the funnel on the front of the tractor is pushed down the tractor trundles off on its own for a while - it even works really well on carpet and goes slowly enough that a toddler can crawl along with it.
The set is made of robust plastic in bright primary colours. The scoop on the front of the tractor can be moved manually. It takes 4 x AA batteries, but really doesn't eat them like some toys - I think we have only replaced ours once in a year.
My youngest child loves this tractor, and so do all her friends and cousins when they come to visit - it is always one of the first toys to be got out and played with. What greater recommendation can there be!
Well worth the money.
For Christmas last year when he was 16 months old my son got two tractor and trailers. Neither was exactly as in the picture.
One is bright orange with vegetable buttons in the trailer which when pressed names the vegetable and makes a comment about how delicious it is in an annoying American accident. It has a removable farmer figure who when pressed into his seat plays a tune and a funnel at the front that you press to make the tractor move forwards. This moves well on laminate or carpet and only needs a slight prod to get up the edge of our (fairly thick) rug.
The other is bright green with removable animals the same as in the picture except in more natural colours. Again there is a removable farmer who when pressed into his seat sings Old Macdonald in an annoying American accent. The animals sit in different shaped foot prints and when pressed into them make the relevant animal noises (I am not familiar enough with farm animal noises to detect whether these are in an annoying American accent but I suspect they are). There is a funnel at the front and given the similarities between the two tractors I expected it to make the tractor move forwards, however it just made tractor noises.
This lack of movement was a source of confusion for anyone who saw the two tractors, I checked the box it had come in carefully but there was no mention of the tractor moving. My Dad was so frustrated that he started taking the tractor apart to find out what was wrong. It kept making noises while he was fiddling but as there is no off switch I told him he'd have to take the batteries out to stop it. When he opened the battery cover he found that there was space for 4 batteries but only 2 batteries in. This obviously enabled some but not all of the tractor's functions. With four fresh batteries the tractor was soon zooming around and a button near the farmer's seat turned the headlights on.
My son enjoys playing with these, pressing the buttons and moving the animals and people in and out. He also likes to set them off moving then run away.
If you are thinking of purchasing it you should check for the accent although I think they might all be American based on my experience. You need to be aware that there is no off switch, so if these are being stored in a toy box there is a danger of the noises going off when things are moved. Its also a good idea to make sure you check the batteries to make sure there are enough in there to get it working properly.
This tractor toy was one of my son's favourite Christmas presents this year so I thought I really should write a review about it.
The toy consists of a tractor and a trailer. It is approximately 40cm in length making it a good sized toy. It is made of chunky plastic and feels very hard wearing. My son has already dropped it from the dining table and it hasn't had any effect on it, always a good sign.
The tractor is a bright green colour with chunky yellow wheels and orange accessories and front scoop. The trailer is bright yellow with green bars around the top.
The tractor comes with a farmer toy which is the popular Bruin bear as well as 5 animal toys: sheep, cow, chicken, horse and pig. There is are spaces for the farmer to ride in the tractor and the animals ride in the trailer.
This toy has a lot of different features making it a versatile toy that keeps childen entertained for longer than average.
When the funnel on the tractor is pressed the tractor travels forwards making a realistic engine noise. It can be stopped by pressing the funnel again.
When the steering wheel is pressed the tractor's headlights light up and the horn beeps.
When the Bruin farmer is placed into his space in the tractor the Old McDonald song begins to play. My son loves this and plays it repeatedly whilst trying to sing along. Each of the animals also makes the appropriate animal sound when placed into their section in the trailer.
What I particularly like about this toy is that the five animals and farmer can be removed from the toy for seperate play. My son loves the little animals and carries at least one around the house with him. He even tried to take one to bed with him last night!
The toy is available from ToysRus. It is only available from this store as it is made by them and it one of the Bruin range.
It is suitable for ages 12 months +
It currently costs £14.99.
It takes 4 AA batteries but it does come with batteries.
I absolutely recommend this toy to anyone. My son loves it and it entertains him longer than most of his toys. I find it to be very good value for money because it is so versatile and does so many different things. It seems to be a very well made toy and I think it will last a long time.
Granma and Granpa very kindly bought this to have at their house for my little girl as she loves animal and she plays with this all the time.
It is a plastic tractor that is well made. It is bright and colourful and catches my daughters attention.
Bruin Bear is the farmer who drives this tractor and when you press him down the tractor moves along and plays old McDonald has a farm.
The farm animals are all in the trailer, the pig, the sheep the horse, the cockerel and the cow. They all make noise via the trailer but all come out to so can be played with individually.
The headlights on the tractor also work which is great additional feature along with the moving scoop at the front.
My daughter has played with this loads but it has never broken or run out of batteries (its over a year old) and the noises arent to loud so they dont annoy the adults.
This is great for teaching children about animals and the noises that they make.
A thoughtful gift.
We bought this for my son's first birthday and he loved it and had hours of fun playing with it. its from the bruin range at toys r us and cost £12.99.
The tractor is green, with yellow tyres and a orange bucket, which can be moved up or down by hand. The trailer is completely attached and is yellow with a green fence round and green tyres, it comes complete with 5 animals and a farmer. Is designed for 12months plus.
On the tractor itself their is a funnel on the engine, which when pressed down it makes a reving noise and moves across the floor on its own, whilst the headlights flash. You can then place the farmer in the seat in the tractor and he will play the 'old mcdonald song'. in the trailer there is 5 holes, each corresponds to the relative animal and each will only fit the correct one. pop the pig in the hole and hear him oink, pop the cow in and hear it moo, the chicken clucks, the horse neighs and the sheep baa's when put in the correct hole. This makes it an ideal toy in terms of learning the correct shape bottom to fit the right animal and also what noises each animal makes.
It takes 4AA batteries but does come with them already in. Is a great toy both for play but also to learn from and can be played with over and over again. We have now had it for 2.5years and still going strong, with the exception of new batteries.
The bruin tractor and trailer set is a fabulous toy my little boy absolutely loves playing with it. I will start of by telling you a bit about this toy, it is basically a green tractor with a yellow trailer attached the tractor has an orange scoop which moves up and down. There is a seat at the front in the tractor for a little plastic farmer to sit in and when you press him down he sings old McDonald had a farm. When you press the funnel at the front of the tractor the tractor makes engine noises and then moves along by itself. In the trailer there are 5 spaces for 5 different animals there is a cow, a sheep, a chicken, a pig and a horse. When each of the animals are pushed into their spaces it makes the noise of that particular animal. this is ideal for teaching your child the different animal noises. The headlights on this also flash.
My little boy has had this for about 9 months and he constantly plays with it, I need to go on a search of the house as he has recently lost the chicken for his trailer. You can buy this toy for £12.99 in toys r us and because it is a bruin toy they are often on 3 for 2 offers. This is a really good buy and will keep your little one entertained for ages. This toy needs 4 AA batteries to make it work, they do normally come with batteries but I found they didn't last very long so best to get some new ones in ready.
Great developmental toy for children. Baby will enjoy playing with this tractor thanks to all of the light and sound features.
