To be honest, we haven't really had that much experience with Blossom Farm products. Early learning Centre do 'series' of products and stock things such as the Happyland range, and Blossom Farm is something that features friendly farm animals and household pets such as this cat. When our eldest was much younger he had some smaller animals but this product is a slightly larger one that your child can interact and play with. It's a soft toy, the main body of it a bit like a bean bag. Very soft and pliable, the one worry you initially have with something like this is how durable it is. Bean bags do sometimes have a tendency to split, or the beans seep out of one end. This toy though has remained intact for a long time and with a fair amount of standard child destruction! Where the main body joins on to the legs for example, the quality of stitching is very high, and despite squeezing and twisting depending on by who and how the manipulation is happening it has held up to all types of potential destruction. The soft padded nature of it extends into the feet, which are a bit more as if they're foam filled than bean bag. You can't stand the cat up very easily, which is a shame. The legs just don't support the bean bag heavy body, which sags down and pushes the legs out of the way. It's okay though, because you can kind of make it look like the cat is crouching down in its haunches instead. The tail is quite cute and more like the feet than the hands, as is the head. It's a well designed soft toy, and I really like the way that there's a bit of contrast between the body and the extremities. It's a very cuddly little toy, and with crinkly ears to accompany it, it provides a few different touch elements for kids to learn about different textures of touch. It makes me think of the 'That's not my...' books and how they help develop a child's texture and touch sensitivity and recognition through play, which is the best way of doing so in most cases. I think this particular toy is very good, and even better when you combine it with the rest of the toys in the range. I think it's well thought out and well designed, with no scrimping on product price to ensure a cheaper shelf price. You need to fork out £6 for this individual product, although I've seen it reduced a few times so you may be able to catch it at a bargain. It's worth the price because it's a lovely toy. The colours are bright, it's a happy smiling cat, the design and quality of the material is lovely and soft, and the interior well thought out to ensure some difference in contours. Highly recommended.
