      A lovely snuggly pillow

      When I put Jayden to bed in his cot he doesn't have any pillows in there to lay on, this is the same when I put him in his cot for a nap, however he does sometimes fall asleep on the sofa and I do let him lay on one of the pillows so he is more comfortable, on the sofa I am happy for him to use a pillow as I can keep any eye on him. Recently when I was Christmas shopping with my Mum in Toys R Us when I spotted the Giraffe Pillow Buddy and decided to get one for Jayden, it was ideal for when he decides to have a sleep somewhere other than his cot in order to make him more comfortable.

      A Pillow Buddy is basically a a cuddly toy which then folds flat to form a soft pillow, the giraffe has a piece of velcro underneath on one side and on the other is a small strap (made of the same furry material so it blends in) with velcro on the end of it, when the velcro pieces are fastened together the giraffe forms a cuddly toy, when unstuck it goes flat to form a pillow.

      The main body of the giraffe is made from a cream coloured fur with patches of orangey/ brown fur to form the markings of a giraffe, the face and legs are made from a plain cream coloured furry material which has been clipped shorter in comparison to the main body, and between the ears is the giraffes main (if that's what they have) this is made from long dark brown fur.
      The facial features of the giraffe are stitched directly onto the face with black thread for the eyes and brown thread to make the nostrils and the giraffes large friendly smile.

      What attracted us to the Pillow Buddies was how soft they are, the fur is extremely soft to touch and the stuffing is very soft as well making it extremely comfortable to lay on. The pillow is quite large and when laid flat measures 17.5 inches x 16.5 inches, this makes it an ideal size for a child to lay on and the fact that it folds up makes it more portable, you could even use it as a pillow when folded, if you wanted a more firm and smaller pillow.

      The Giraffe Pillow Buddy is said to be suitable for children ages 3 years and above, Jayden is much younger than this, however I decided to purchase the pillow for him as he would only be using it whilst being supervised, he would not have it when he was in his cot alone. There are no small parts to this item which could be removed and be dangerous to your child, all of the facial features are stitched on so there is nothing that could be a choking hazard. I definitely wouldn't use a baby of Jayden's age alone with this item, but supervised I have no problems with him using the Giraffe Pillow Buddy.

      The Pillow Buddy comes in the form of various different animals including a
      * Ladybird
      * Bee
      * Bear
      * Frog
      * Unicorn
      * Giraffe (the one we have)
      Apart from the Unicorn I would say colour wise all of these are aimed at either boys or girls, the unicorn is a pinky purple colour and in my opinion is more girly.

      When I purchase things for Jayden I prefer them to be easily washable or easy to clean without too much hassle as I know that at some point he is going to get it dirty. The Giraffe Pillow Buddy is hand wash only, personally I would have preferred to have been able to put it in the washing machine, however this would not put me off using the pillow and I would rather stick to the instructions rather than ruin it so that he cannot use it.

      As I have mentioned I purchased Jayden's Pillow Buddy from Toys R Us and it cost me £14.99, they did do larger ones which were a little more expensive, however I thought this one was plenty big enough. I do think that it is good value for money as it is something that Jayden can use for a long time and get a lot of use out of, he uses it every day so I would definitely say that it is well worth the money.

      We have had the Giraffe Pillow Buddy for a while now and Jayden loves it, as soon as we showed it to him he held his hands out for it and played with it for ages, he uses it as a pillow and also as a toy, he uses it at least once a day if he falls asleep on the sofa, if he is starting to get a bit grumpy and tired I will lay the pillow out for him and lay his head on it and he loves to lay and feel the fur and within a few minutes he is sound asleep.

      The pillow is lovely and soft making it extremely comfortable for you child to lay on, it is ideal for use around the house, in the car, pretty much anywhere and the fact that you can fold it up into the form of a cuddly toy means that it is portable.

      The pillow is a good size and you child will get a lot of use out of it, Jayden has had a huge amount of use out of his already. Although the pillow is aimed at children 3 years old and above as I have already mentioned I do think that it is ok for younger children to use providing they are supervised at all times whilst using it, I would not leave Jayden alone in his cot with a pillow but am happy for him to use this when someone is with him and can keep an eye on things. The pillow is made to a high standard and is of an excellent quality, it is pretty robust, it gets dragged around and kicked about with Jayden and still looks as good as new. I would highly recommend this item to anyone.
