My not long turned 2 year old Oscar is an absolute pain in the bum for getting him into a bath at the moment, normally he loves a bath. Just before Christmas he lost the top of his finger by shutting it in a door, since then his hand was bandaged and we were told not to get it wet, even wrapping his hand in cling film for bath time proved a nightmare so we would just wash him down with a flannel and soapy water. His bandage has now come off but bathing him is still proving difficult. He's a huge Mickey Mouse fan so when I saw this I hoped it would help us get back to our normal stress free bath times.

1 x playset
1 x yellow boat
1 x mickey mouse figure
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ The Playset ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
The playset comes in a blue open style box so you see the item in full. Once taking the box apart you need to cut the paper cable ties to remove the item. It is made by Fisher Price and is recommended for age 2 years plus. It is already fully assembled and is a sucker style toy that simply fixes onto the bathroom tiles, there is a little hook at the bottom to hook the boat onto when not in use, and mickey will sit on the white handed glove.
The playset is 9 inches high, it has the standard black mickey mouse ears at the top, a yellow strainer, white glove on the right hand side, blue slide to the left and a yellow water wheel with a blue picture in the shape of mickey mouse's face. The little boat is yellow and mickey mouse fits inside it to float in your child's bath.
Mickey mouse is a solid figure with no movement at all, standing at 4 inches tall. He has his usual red shorts on, a green rubber ring and yellow footwear on.

While the toy does (to me) look a little basic, surprisingly There are 4 fun ways to play with this, well actually there is 3 because the boat feature doesn't work!:
1) Simply use the yellow boat to pour water into the yellow strainer and watch the water make the water wheel turn round.
2) Mickey can also slide down the blue slide.
3) Push mickey around in his yellow boat (this is the feature that doesn't work, il explain in detail below)
4) Stand Mickey Mouse on the white glove and knock him down into the bath.
Whats great about this toy is that it can also be used outside of bath time. Although it has suckers on the back to fix to the tiles it also stands alone, and while the strainer cannot be used (due to needing water) the other features can still be used. My little boy also owns 5 other Mickey mouse playsets so often likes to add this to his 'Mickey Mouse Village', where he can still use the slide to let mickey slide down, he will then use the clubhouse playset that also has a slide to try and join the 2 slides together. 1 of his other playsets is a mickey farmyard that has a rubber dingy, he will sit Minnie mouse and pluto in the rubber dingy and mickey will follow in his yellow boat across the laminate. The dropping white glove can also be used due to not needing water.
While the playset is designed for the bath its clever in that it doesn't need water to allow play (except the strainer as mentioned above), and its made even more fun with other playsets added to it.
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ What Does Oscar Think? ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
My little boy was 2 on 14th November so just within the recommended age bracket, he found this very easy to use, and needed no help at all in order to get it to work. His favourite part is sliding Mickey Mouse down the slide (he also has the Mickey Mouse clubhouse playset and on that toy the slide is his favourite part so I knew when I saw this that my little boy would be impressed). He does however get frustrated that when using the slide Mickey Mouse sometimes gets stuck due to his rubber ring rubbing on the water wheel.
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ Our Thoughts ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
My little boy adores this toy, it was brought to help us with bath time and now I cannot get him out of the bath. The playset is very durable with no flimsy parts that could easily snap off or break. It has multiple colours which make it attractive to the little ones, and being Mickey Mouse is a major added bonus. Its pretty small in size but i guess for a bath toy you don't want a large toy anyway, but i was very surprised with the different ways you can play with this. All modes of play are very easy to do for my 2year old and needed no help at all.
Using the boat the to scoop water into the strainer the water wheel will then turn round, however it does move pretty slowly, this doesn't seem to bother my little boy, plus it prevents water splashing everywhere so im not complaining.
The white glove is simple and easy to use, it simply pushes down to make Mickey Mouse fall into the bath, my little boy can do this himself and screams with laughter when mickey falls into the bath.
As mentioned above, mickey does sometimes get stuck on the slide, simple because his rubber ring gets stuck on the water wheel, however we have found that if the whole toy is really wet mickey does tend to slide a little easier down the slide. My little boy does get pretty frustrated with this as I ended up adding a tiny drop of baby oil to the yellow bits on the water wheel so that mickeys rubber ring just brushed passed it instead of getting stuck, it has helped so thankfully no stressed out 2year old.
What I like about this set is the little mickey mouse. We own a Jake and the neverland pirate bath boat with figure and the bag of Mickey Mouse bath toys that my sister brought for my youngest from the Disney store and because this mickey mouse is solid no water gets trapped inside him unlike the other bath toys we own. With the other figures they are squeezable but very hard meaning water stays in them for days which bugs me because I like to keep all bath toys inside my bathroom cabinet so it annoys me water slowly dripping from them onto my unit. We don't have this problem which means mickey can also be played with outside of bath time.
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ Any Negatives? ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
The boat feature is pointless! Mickey is simply too heavy and the boat just turns over. If putting the boat into water it stays afloat just fine but as soon as you add mickey mouse the boat subsides. My little boy gets very frustrated with this and while the other features are still very fun, my little boy would have been overjoyed to have mickey mouse sailing along in his own little boat right next to my son during bath time. While the boat is still used to pour water into the strainer the fact it cannot be used to sail mickey around is very annoying.
* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ Final Thoughts? ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
Overall id have to say its a very well £11.99 spent, my little boy loves it, we also own 5 other mickey mouse playsets that have figures with it so my little boy was taking those into the bath which was starting to result in paint wear so this toy has also saved the other mickey figures from wear and tear in the bath.
Its made our bath times a whole lot easier and I would recommend to anyone considering buying one.
The boat not staying afloat while mickey mouse is awfully annoying, its a whole feature that is absolutely pointless. I wouldn't mind if he stayed afloat for a little while but that isn't the case at all.
