We always use Johnson's products on our little one as we like the tried and trusted name of Johnsons. You know you'll get a product that is gentle on skin but still does the job you want it to. We initially got the 2in1 as it was on promotion at Tesco for £1 a bottle. Normal price is around £3. It comes in a peachy coloured 500 ml bottle, but other sizes are available, with the standard Johnson artwork on front and back.
The 2in1 is designed to be both a bubble bath and a wash so saving you using another product to clean little ones on a flannel or sponge. The 2in1 smells lovely. It seems to have a slight peachy scent unlike any other Johnson's products we have purchased which on the whole seem to have a signature Johnsons scent.
As a bubble bath the product is great. A small amount gives tons of frothy bubbles which is great for our son who loves playing with the bubbles. As a wash it is slightly disappointing as it doesn't seem to work up into a decent lather. When you apply to a sponge or flannel it seems to be more creamy than other washes we have used. Having said that as a wash, despite the lack of lather it does clean very well however and is gentle on baby's skin and non-drying.
I would recommend the 2 in 1 as a good bubble bath, and an ok wash. It produces lots of bubbles in the bath but not much lather as a wash. Good for a space and money saver
Having tried a variety of baby bubble baths and liked them all I was happy to give this Johnson's baby 2 in 1 bubble bath and wash a try when I saw it on offer. Bath time is usually a fun time in our house with both my girls loving bubbles and I was expecting lots from this product.
This bubble bath comes in 300ml and 500ml bottles, I bought the smaller size which on reflection was a good decision as I haven't liked it. I'm not sure why they need to make this product in the smaller size though as it isn't small enough to be any good for travelling and it just doesn't last very long when being used every night.
The bottle has a flip cap and it is easy to squeeze the bottle to control the amount of bubble bath you use. I have found that this product has left residue in the cap which I haven't noticed on other Johnson's products, easy enough to wipe away but still a bit annoying.
The bubble bath has a pleasant fragrance as I squeezed some under the running tap and was pleased to see the bubbles starting to foam. When I'd finished running the bath I thought that it hadn't made as many bubbles as I'd expected but by the time I put my girls in the bath they'd nearly all gone! This had never happened with the Johnson's bedtime bath so I was a little disappointed.
The following night I thought I'd follow the instructions on the bottle to swirl the water to help make bubbles and the night after used more product but each time the bubbles had nearly all gone by the time my girls got in.
It works well for washing which is half it's purpose and it hasn't caused any drying of their young delicate skin.
Price and Availability
This product is widely available in Supermarkets and Boots stores. The 500ml bottle is currently (August 2013) £3.20 in most places but can be picked up for £1.50 in Asda. The 300ml is on offer at Tesco for £1.32, full price £1.99. I don't think this product is worth this price, it would have to be really cheap for me to buy it again!
Would I recommend?
No, I was very disappointed in the bubbles produced when compared to similar products. I was surprised to see that other reviewers have been impressed by this so maybe I just had a dud bottle, I won't be buying it again to find out!
My niece stays over at our house once or twice a week and she is a typical 2 year old. She bounces off the walls and you have to have your eye on her at all times or the house will be up in flames! I love to explore with her and watch her curious little face as she discovers new things and learns all the time but there are times where exploring takes it's toll and she ends up being absolutely filthy! Like any child she loves the bath and loads of bubbles, but the mischievous behaviour doesn't stop at the bathroom door and sometimes she wants to play with taps, the bath plug and anything other than her little rubber duck! Out shopping I spotted the 2 in 1 bubble bath and wash from Johnson's in my local ASDA for £1 (as it's apparently baby season or something; lots of fantastic deals in the baby section) so I picked some up for my lovely niece when she stays over!
£1 from ASDA marked down from £1.50, it might not seem alot but I'm sure it does when you've got some wee ones full time and if they are anything like my niece then you'll go through several bottles in a short space of time and will be grateful for the saving!
The packaging is the classic softness of Johnson's, with the unmistakable font and soft 'baby' colour and all the information you might need on the front of it such as 'no more tears' as it's important to have a product that doesn't sting the little one's eyes. The packaging is very easy to handle which is convenient especially if you're bathing a wriggly baby and don't have the extra hands to wrestle with a stubborn bottle, and the flip cap has quite a thick lid meaning it's very easy to flip open for quick and mess free use. The bottles are also very easy to squeeze the product out and make great fun when the bottles are empty and can be used as a fun toy in the bath! The smell of the product is very classic and has that lovely baby smell that is irresistible and makes the grumpiest babies sweet!
This product definitely made bath time much simpler. Having 2 products in one bottle was really convenient as I wasn't wrestling with different bottles and it means having one less bottle cluttering my bathroom. My niece enjoys getting involved in bath time and loves loads of bubbles which this product definitely provides! A little goes a long way and a small amounts creates loads of bubbles and a small blob is needed to wash her, and the product is very gentle on her sensitive baby skin. One negative to the product is that it's so easy to open that a little one could easily flip open the lid, so some advice would be to keep it out of the way of the curious hands! Since buying the product I've found other uses such as using it to wash my wooly hats with warm water and it gently washes my hats without making them stiff and they smell lovely! I also use it to shave my legs as it doesn't dry out the skin and also smells lovely.
I would recommend this product for anyone with wee ones, the 2 products in 1 bottle is really convenient and it's from a very classic brand that has been looking after babies for generations. I would always steer towards Johnson's products as this is what I was brought up with, and at such a reasonable price from ASDA I couldn't say no. I would definitely recommend anyone with wee ones to check out the fantastic deals in ASDA at the moment within a wide range of baby products and pick yourself up a bargain!
I have been using this in my kids bath for a number of months now and they and I love it. I have always used Johnsons products ever since my kids were born, I love their baby oil and shampoo and some of the different lotions you can get so I thought this was a really nice addition to the Johnson family and its definitely a firm part of our bathtime routine now.
I think my favourite part about this wash is the gorgeous smell, its got a very fresh fruity smell and it smells delicious in the bath. It also smells great on my baby's skin afterwards and I love to use it on both my little boy and little girl. The smell really does linger on their skin and especially when I use it on their hair and I love how nice and clean and cuddly it makes them!
This bubble bath and wash is marketed as,"all in one bubbling fun, with mild and gentle bubbles." What I like is that you really only need this bottle in the bath and that is it when it comes to cleaning the kids. I firstly use some when I am running the bath and pour some under the tap as the tap is running. The bottle is squeezy with a flip cap lid so its easy to squeeze some out under the tap. This really does make the bath fill up with bubbles and the bubbles tend to last all throughout our bath which is great. Then I will use this product as a wash just like liquid soap so I will use ti to clean my little boy and girl by squeezing a little bit into my hand and rubbing it all over their bodies. Then to finish off I use it as a shampoo too when I wash my little boys hair. I don't use it on my girl as she has a medicated shampoo but its great for my little boy. This wash also contains the Johnson's no more tears formula so even if he does get some in his eyes it doesn't sting. Afterwards he has really soft clean hair and looks gorgeous!
According to the back of the bottle Johnsons say, "We love babies. And we understand that babies love bubbly baths, because bubbles make those special moments even more fun. That's why our new 2in1 Bubble bath and wash is specially designed to make lots of gentle bubbles that your little ones will love. It gently cleanses baby's skin without drying and our unique No More Tears formula is mild to the eyes.
My son has a little bit of eczema and I have no problem using this on his skin as it doesn't make his skin any worse and is actually quite nice to it too which is good. A 300ml bottle costs £2.10 and is one I recommend for your litre one's baths.
*~2 in 1 Bubble Bath and Wash~*
This 2 in 1 product from Johnson's is marketed as being both a bubble bath and a body wash for babies and young children. It has been designed to be kind to young skin whilst cleansing it. It should also create soft bubbles and shouldn't dry your childs skin out. This product also has the Johnson's 'no more tears' formula making the bubbly formula kind around the sensitive eye area.
This product is presented in a pale orange coloured bottle which is made of thick but squeezy plastic. The packaging features a flip top cap to ensure easy dispensing of this product whilst bathing your baby or toddler. The bottle can be recycled once empty and this product has a 12 month shelf life from first use.

*Asda - £1.00 (a 500ml bottle is also available for £1.50 at the moment)

My son is 4.5yrs old and has his own little collection of bath time products. I normally switch between Johnson's and Boots products depending on what sort of offer is on at the time of purchase. I have bought this 2 in 1 product a few times now and my most recent purchase was from Asda but I normally buy from Boots on some kind of promotion. It is worth looking out for special offers as Boots often have Johnson's on a '2 for 1' offer.
My son used to hate bath time but he loves it now. We normally ask Boo which bubble bath he wants to use between a few in the bathroom and this one is the most popular. The bottle is well designed but it isn't see through so judging the remaining contents is sometimes an issue. Often I do not realise we are low until the bottle starts spluttering the remains!
The first time we used this I was surprised at the consistency of the liquid. It is a pale white, thin and runny. I thought a lot would be needed to perform but a tiny blob of this product goes a long way and is very economical to use. It smells much nicer than some of the other Johnson's products as it is sweet and fruity but nice and mild. My son loves the scent too.
My son likes a bath on a Sunday night and opts for showers through the week to freshen up. As a bubble bath, this product performs perfectly fine but don't expect gigantic bubbles. I normally pour a little under the hot tap and swirl it around to form a nice little layer of soft bubbles. The water feels lovely and soft and my son has experienced no additional dryness of his skin whilst bathing in the bubbles. The bubbles whilst not outstanding are still evident after a long bath time of playing and splashing!
We mostly use this as a body wash after bathing or whilst in the shower. It is fine to apply it directly onto damp skin but my son likes us to squeeze some onto his wash cloth or sponge and clean himself whilst Mummy supervises and makes sure he gets a thorough wash down. This product lathers up well on damp skin and creates a creamy, mild and ruity smelling lather which leaves my sons skin fresh and clean. The lather rinses off well leaving no residue and a delicate sweet scent is evident on my sons skin once he has been dried.
My son does wipe over his face with this product on his cloth and hasn't complained of any stinging eyes so Johnson's have got the formula just right for being gentle. My son has sensitive skin which is prone to drying but this product is kind to his skin and leaves it nicely soft but not overly moisturised. I do apply a childs body lotion or butter to the rougher areas of his skin to ensure it remains soft and smooth.
I have used this myself too and find it very pleasant to use. It is kind to skin, cleanses well, smells good and if bought on offer works out good value for money too. I can't really fault it. Our last bottle lasted around 3 months with regular use and I have only had to replace it in the past week.
Thanks for reading :)
I am not particularly loyal to any brand of bubble bath for my daughter, we buy whatever is on offer in the baby aisle at the time. Currently in Tesco a bottle of this Johnson's bubble bath and wash is £1.49 for 500ml, it is normally £2.98 so it is half price.
I hadn't tried this one before so as it was on offer we picked up 2 bottles.
The front of the bottle describes the bubble bath as 'mild and gentle bubbles' the formula is designed to be no more tears like most products in the Johnson's range. It is also specially formulated so it won't dry out your baby's delicate skin.
This product can be used in two ways, it can be poured under running water or swirled around in your baby's bath to make bubbles, or you can apply it directly to a sponge and work up a lather to wash your baby.
I tend to just use this under running water. One thing I like about the product is you only need a small amount to get a reasonable amount of bubbles. I try not to make the bath too 'bubbly' as my daughter likes to eat them. The liquid is a creamy white colour and my favourite thing about it is the smell, it has a fruity smell, I can't pin it down to one fruit but it is really fresh and doesn't smell like other products in the Johnson's range which I find all tend to smell the same. The bubbles last a good while too, sometimes I take a bath with my daughter and we will stay in for about 15 minutes and the bubbles last the duration. I have tried it as a body wash too and again you only need a small amount on a sponge and it makes a really nice foamy lather that will wash your baby from head to toe.
After using this my daughter has lovely smelling skin. It also leaves her skin soft and smooth. My daughter doesn't have any skin problems and I haven't noticed any irritation since we have been using this. I also tend to use her bath products for my bath and if I put a little more of the product under running water I get masses of bubbles. I like to soak for at least 45 minutes and the few times I have used this the bubbles have lasted a long time, I like lots of bubbles as they tend to keep the water warmer by insulating it.
I will definately be buying this again. A bottle will last a long time as you only need to use a small amount. It's even better when you can get it on offer.
5 out of 5 from us!
I have three boys and, for convenience, I tend to bath all three of them together whenever possible! It's a bit of a squeeze and we have a few squabbles but it gets it over and done with a lot quicker than having separate baths! As my youngest son is only nine months old, I am very cautious about the products that I use in the bath, preferring to use as little as possible to avoid irritating or drying out his young skin. My older boys also suffer with eczema so I do seek out gentle products for all of them, even though they do love bubbles in their bath every now and then!
Johnson's 2in1 Bubble Bath & Wash appears to be a fairly new addition to Johnson's trusted range of baby products, although it is stocked in Boots and most supermarkets. I first discovered it in Morrisons where it was on a half-price promotion and I picked up a generous 500ml sized bottle for just £1.50. I do think the full price seems a little pricey but, having used it, I would actually be tempted to pay that for it.
I must admit when I first glanced at the peach coloured bottle and read '2in1' I assumed that this was a combined shampoo and body wash product, similar to Johnson's Top to Toe wash which I also like using. In actual fact, this is meant to be both a baby body wash and a bubble bath, as it produces a gentle frothy lather when mixed with a little bath water. My baby still only has a thin covering of very fine baby hair so I do actually also use this as a shampoo to wash his hair at every bath time. Like most Johnson's baby bath products, this has the 'No More Tears' formula so I feel happy using this on his hair. He's not overly keen on any water or suds going down his face but, if they do, he just complains a little rather than screaming blue murder! Since using this as a shampoo, my little one's hair has continued to feel soft and clean and has a lovely lingering fragrance between washes. As yet, there has been no sign of any cradle cap at all, which both my older boys suffered with whilst using Johnson's original baby shampoo. I will probably switch back to a specific baby shampoo once his hair starts to grow thicker, however, as I do find the suds are quite difficult to rinse thoroughly out of his hair. As it is, I need to do several rinses to make sure there is no residue and I suspect it would be tricky to wash out of long hair or very thick hair.
As a body wash and bubble bath, this stuff is absolutely lovely. It is easy to pour and has just the right consistency - thin enough to pour out easily into running water and thick enough to squeeze just a small amount on to the palm of my hand or a sponge. It is an attractive clean looking white colour and creates soft little bubbles which last a surprising amount of time in the bath, certainly long enough to entertain babies or toddlers. As well as producing long-lasting bubbles, only a very small amount is needed for each bath or for a rubdown with a sponge, so my bottle has lasted for several weeks and still has lots left. The bubbles seem soft and gentle for all of my boys and has not irritated their skin at all. It is also reassuring to read on the bottle that this is totally free from parabens too.
My favourite aspect, though, has to be the scent. It is completely different from the typical 'baby powder' scents that I associate with most Johnson's baby products. This one has a distinctive fruity smell, which to me smells of peaches, and is perfectly in keeping with the attractive peach coloured bottle that this comes in. Although it's not a fragrance that I would automatically link with babies, it works well with this product and leaves a fresh, quite a subtle fruity scent behind on my children's skin after a bath.
This is a really versatile product which is a pleasure to use and comes highly recommended.
I have what I can at best refer to as sensitive skin. It dries out easily and I get greasy looking but dry to the touch, scaly calve's and things so rather often I take my regime back to basis and use rather plain and sometimes baby products as we are told by Johnson's of course 'Best for baby....best for you!'.
This baby 2 in 1 bubble bath & wash I hadn't ever seen till I was in Asda a couple of weeks back and I got this on special offer for a pound opposed to the usual price of nearer 2 pounds a bottle so I felt I got a bit of a bargain!
The bottle the product comes in is a light peach coloured plastic and to the top of it, it has an orange flip-top style dispenser concealing a small hole. On the font of the bottle we are told that it is 'No more tears' Johnson's Baby 2n1 Bubble Bath & Wash 'Mild & gentle bubbles all-in-one bubbling fun' and that of course it is a Johnson + Johnson product and that it has 500ml of the bath/wash in it. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients are listed and contact details for Johnson's are clearly stated. Nice, simple, unisex looking bottle this is.
Well the liquid dispenses out of the bottle really easily and is a white creamy looking and feeling liquid. Ideal for daily use, you an use this on any body and use it as a bubble bath to which you don't need very much at all to get some nice white lather or you can of course use it as a body wash in the bath/shower.
Fragrace wise this is a really natural fragranced product. Sweet and smelling rather tropical this is a lovely blend of summery fruits and I really like this refreshing smell. Like I said I don't need to use much in the bath at all and I can wash with this and again I don't need very much of it at all to get it bubbly and lathery, releasing its fragrance as it goes and it feels smooth and cleansing on the skin..I can even use this to shave my bits and bobs should I require!
I like the gentleness of this and the fact that it really does smell nice and is cleansing. I would not hesitate to use this on a baby, child, toddler whoever because of its mildness and personally this hasn't upset my skin any way shape or form and in my opinion this is a great 'all rounder' for the whole family!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc.
johnsons Baby 2-1 bubble bathwash is specially designed to make lots of gentle bubbles that your little ones will love / It gently cleanses baby's skin without drying
