      UNRELIABLE

I have used Huggies nappies on all my three older children and after an 8 year gap when I became pregnant again with my youngest son I didn't think twice before using all my money off coupons that I received through the numerous mum's to be clubs that I signed up for to stock up on Huggies newborn nappies. As far as my memory recalls I found the quality of these nappies to be a lot better on my older kids than this time round. These nappies for some reason have fallen in quality in a big way and it surprises me as Huggies are such a major brand name. The main problem is that they leak to put it simply....if I laid my baby down flat on his back to sleep when he would wake up the urine would have crept halfway up his back.If I laid him on his side,he'd be wet all the way upto his armpit and this would prevent him from sleeping properly and he'd be up in no time.Personally for me the worst bit was that on a few occasions whilst I was breast feeding him the urine would pour out as though he wasn't wearing a nappy at all!!! I am very disappointed with the performance of these nappies and have therefore switched to another brand as not only is a leaking nappy uncomfortable for my child but also causes me additional inconvenience that I can well do without being a mother to 3 other children.Save yourself time and money by staying away from these nappies.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Poor quality product

I bought Huggies nappies for the first and last time in my third trimester, with a coupon from the Bounty bag. I think I tried the nappies about five times on my baby and incredibly it has leaked every single time, which was when I decided to abandon it and I just ended up not using the rest of the nappies in the small packet and threw them away recently. The nappy looks alright, just like a standard nappy, with velcro-like straps. The lining on the inside is not the best, rather thick and rough. The size I tried was size 1 for newborn, it was perfect for my son. The nappy has the guard around the thighs designed to keep stuff in, inspite of this it leaked every single time- poo as well as pee. I also felt it was not very absorbent. Last I heard, Huggies are stopping production of nappies, although I do not know the reason for this.

      Dont use!

When pregnant with my first baby my mom bought us the newborn huggies starter kit. It came with a pack of newborn nappies, a pack of wipes and a carrier for the wipes as well as a newborn hat. When my baby was born I decided to start using the nappies. When you get them out the first thing you will notice is how soft they feel. This really put my mind at ease as I was worried that they would rub my baby and make him uncomfortable. But even the bits around the leg were incredibly soft. They have two elastic 'ring' type things that when you do the nappies up are around the legs. This is supposed to be because it helps in keeping in any poo or wee your baby might do! The sticky straps are good and when done up are quite secure. Although I will say that if you stick it down in the wrong place and try to re-stick it you'll be unsuccessful in seems there only a one stick nappy! The nappy themselves are quite neutral a mainly a creamy white colour with a bit of yellow on, so suitable for a boy or girl, not that nappies matter too much! However my biggest problem with these nappies is that they LEAK! The first time it happened my baby boys vest was drenched all up his side after only wearing it for an hour. I thought maybe this was my mistake and I hadn't put the nappy on correctly. But every time I used these nappies it happened and every other brand, even cheap supermarket brands hadn't leaked. I didn't even get half way through the pack before I stopped using them as I didn't want my baby constantly soaked in wee! I have since spoke to friends with babies and all have said that they have had the same problem with the newborn huggies nappies. Because of this, that the nappies can not do their fundamental job I would not recommend them.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I wouldn't recommend this brand to other people but lots of people do like them

I have 3 children, a 11 year old, 2 year old and a 6 month old. As you can imagine I have tried all the brands over time. Huggies is the only brand I have personally found disappoint me time after time. Huggies is supposed to be a leading brand in the world of Nappies and they have been going now for over 30 years. They sell a range of nappies and baby wipes and disposable changing/bed mats. Unfortunately I have to dispute, in my personal experience their supposed expertise. With my eldest I first tried their Newborn nappies in hospital, I had bought 4 packets and as a new mum I was confident that they would do the job. Within 4 hours of him being born, I had managed to go through 3 changes of clothes. The supposed leak proof nappies were far from anything proof. After plugging on with them to use up the remaining nappies I vowed to never use them again. Forward on 9 years and expecting my 2nd child I was presented with a Bounty Pack. If your pregnant you get 5 of these packs throughout the months of your pregnancy upto your child being 6 months old and I received vouchers galore, for lots of different products including Huggies. I had also signed up for several baby clubs and these also presented me with more vouchers, once again including Huggies Money off coupons. After acquiring more than 30, yes I repeat 30 money off coupons I decided to take the risk and get some. I decided to opt for the Newborn starter kit for which I had a voucher to get free, on top of that I also purchased 3 packs of their baby wipes. The Starter kit had a full size newborn nappies pack, A full size wipes and a cotton hat. After having my little girl and bringing her home I gave the nappies a go. The nappies seem to be good quality but they are not very flexible, the tabs are not stretchy enough for my liking and once again they leaked. While Menconium(Your babies first stool) is unpleasant, its even more unpleasant when it has leaked yet again from a Huggies newborn nappy. The actual Nappy padding seems to be quite generous and feels quite soft on the newborn nappies but it just doesn't do the job you need it to. Deciding it might just be the newborn range that didn't suit my needs I decided to give their Superdry Range a go. The packaging is blue and to be honest visually it does stand out. My then 6 month old daughter was at the stage where she wasn't crawling but was wriggling, rolling and generally getting around the floor to wherever she wanted to go. The Huggies nappies were once again quite substantial. The ultra absorbent core was indeed ultra absorbent but only if your little one doesn't move much. I found that as soon as she had done a wee the padding seemed to sag straight away. leaving the impression that the nappy had been on for hours not minutes. The Adhesive tabs were just not stretchy enough to accommodate her wriggling movements and during the day I was once again treated to wet clothes. The wipes have also proven to be, once again in my opinion a complete waste of money. The wipes come in a pack of 64 in 3 or 4 different smells, Aloe Vera, Sensitive etc. They have small Teddy Bear outlines on them and they are quite thick. The design of them however is flawed. Trying to get one out of the packet is terrible, they either come out in bunches or not at all. They also have a tendency to rip when your trying to get them out. You need two hands to get them out and when juggling a baby you need it to be easy not exasperating. The smell of the scented ones is also quite pungent. They are not delicately scented, they are heavily perfumed and I just don't feel that the smell of wipes need to linger on your babies skin for hours after using them. Now that my daughter is in the process of toilet training I have used the Pull up pants. For me these are the exception to the rule. They are not ultra absorbent but they do take an accidental wee and the sides are elasticated. The problem I have with these is they are quite hard for my daughter to manage to get up and down on her own but they do the job that I require them to do. After my disappointment with the brand with my daughter I didn't attempt them again with my youngest. For me it's a case of twice bitten , third time shy. A lot of people do like these Nappies but for me personally I am of the opinion that for a supposed leading brand they have a lot of much needed work to do to catch up with others.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Not impressed in the slightest

I personally think Huggies are the worst nappies I have used to date. A lot of people swear by them-and I don't doubt that they have good reason to, this is just my personal opinion. I recently purchased two large boxes of Huggies super dry nappies, as they were on offer at my local supermarket- 2 boxes for £14. For a well-known brand, I thought this was fantastic. My daughters are both in different sized nappies- so it can't have been just one bad batch. Basically almost every time I went to change them, there was some leakage-but not very much in their nappies, and this was in really short periods. I have rarely experienced this problem before-but if I have it's been perhaps one nappy in the whole packet! My other problem with this batch of nappies is that there were various tabs missing. I sent an email to Huggies/Kimberly Clark, and they apologised and told me they would send me some vouchers. Two days later the vouchers dropped through my letterbox. Apparently I just had a bad batch-or two. I wouldn't recommend these nappies-although when we have used the Huggies Newborn nappies in the past we have had no problems at all. If this review was based on the two boxes of Huggies super dry I would rate it a one star (and only because there isn't a no star button)- but as I have had Huggies newborn nappies inthe past which were fine, and because the company rectified the problem, I shall give them 2 stars.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

on the whole ok as a brand but not the best I have used

I have used Huggies on a few occasions with my son, as they seem to send a lot of money off vouchers, in the new baby packs/bounty packs. So of course I was going to try them. The newborn range I found to be a little on the leaky side. This is what lets the product down. So for some time I did use the other big brand, mostly while my sone was tiny, as he has become bigger I do tend to use more of a variety of brands, and the huggies in the bigger range seems to be a better for him. I don't think they are the cheapest but you can get some good deals as with a lot of brands I do tend to buy when they are on offer. I think that way you get a better cross section of the products. The Huggies wet wipes are a little on the pricey side. I dont think they are the best on the market, as they seem to bring out my sons ecezema. I give this brand a 3 star review as I have had worse and better on both sides. I hope that this review helps some new mums to decide. Thank you for reading.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Great for smaller babies

Now that I am the mother of two children I have used just about every nappy and wipe product there is on the market so I thought I would write a couple of reviews on the overall products. Huggies is a brand that I first started using with my daughter 4 years ago and to be honest I don't think the brand has changed in this time, the brand has products from newborn right up to older children still bedwetting. Nappies There are 3 main varieties in the Huggies nappies, there are newborn nappies, superdry and natural fit. Newborn - The newborn nappies are apparently made with organic cotton which is why they are so soft and they are available in 3 sizes and 2 different pack sizes. Size 1 is for 2-5kg, size 2 is for 3-6kg and size 3 is for 4-9kg. The pack sizes are about 30 nappies (dependant on size) for £6 and around 75 nappies for £12, we always bought these nappies when they were on offer which I did find these nappies often went on. We found these nappies were really good and they held everything in even when our daughter started to slepp through the night and therefore go longer between nappy changes. The nappies were very soft to the touch and fit really well around the legs, I liked these nappies so much it was a shame when my daughter outgrew them. Superdry - These nappies I am not so impressed with and this is where I feel Huggies slip, my daughter started using these once she outgrew the newborn version although to be honest we only use named nappies when they are on offer as I feel the supermarket brands are just as good. The superdry range is packaged in bright blue packaging and has the Winnie the Pooh characters on them, the nappies are available from sizes 3, 4, 4+, 5 and 6 you get around 30 nappies for £6 and about 70 nappied for £12. These nappies are comfortable for my little angel and they can be refastened which is always a great thing to have however the absorbancy of them isn't very good once you reach size 4. We have found that we have to do an extra nappy change through a normal day when we are using these nappies and that they are no good for our daughter through the night as she tends to go 12 hours between nappy changes and they leak every time. I still buy these nappies when they are on a good offer but I have to use a different brand on a night for her and of course we have to factor in the extra nappy usage to the price to make sure it is in fact a good offer. Natural fit - I have never actually used these nappies for my daughter, they seem to be less available than the rest of the Huggies brand and you get less nappies for your money in these packs. These nappies like the newborn ones are made with organic cotton and vitamin E which is supposed to make the nappies softer but then I don't think the Newborn nappies are any softer than the superdry nappies so I don't think this is worth paying more for. On average you lose 4 naqppies out of each pack of these nappies yet they cost the same as the superdry. Special Nappies Pull Ups - we started using these when we were toilet training our eldest daughter and we are still using them now for bedtime as she is still not dry. The pull ups come in medium, large and extra large for the day time and medium and large for the night time pull ups. The packaging makes it very simple to see which ones are which the daytime ones being pink and light blue for girl and boy and the night time ones being purple and dark blue. You get between 12 and 16 pull ups in each pack and a pack costs just short of £6 so if you use a lot of them these can work out very expensive although I have found these go on offer in one supermarket or another every few weeks. We have found that these pull ups work well and they fit well too, there is a picture on the front which is supposed to disappear when your child wets although with the night time ones we have found this doesn't always disappear which upsets my daughter when she looks and thinks she is dry when in fact she is wet. When we do get a dry n ight from our daughter we still have to put the pull up in the bin as the filling of the nappy scrunches into the middle and when we have tried using a pull up for a second night we have then ended up with a wet bed. We have found these pull ups are good for the sizing as i have looked at other pull ups and pyjamam and pants they are too big for my daughter who only has a skinny bum. Swimming Nappies - these are brilliant as they let you take your little one swimming from a young age without worrying about the mess, we used these a couple of times when our babies were too little for a washable swimming nappy. The nappies are bright blue in colour and have little pictures on them such as fish, the nappies can be seperated by ripping the seams at the sides making it easier to take a messy nappy off as obviously they cannot fasten with the usual tabs as these would come open in the water. We have never had any accidents with these nappies and they have never left any red marks around the legs so the sizes do fit really well. Wipes For my first daughter I used alot of supermarket own wipes however I have noticed now I have my second daughter the price of them has gone up and the offers on branded wipes are much better and so I now buy the branded wipes and stock up with the offers. Huggies do 3 different tyoes of wipes that I have seen, there are everyday wipes, pure wipes and wipes with vitamin e and aloe vera. I have found that the everyday wipes are thinnner than the other 2 although they are generally cheaper too, I personally like the pure wipes and these sell at £2.59 a packet although I never ever buy them at this price i'd go broke the amount we go through. The wipes as with most are packed in a plastic packet and when you try and pull one wipe out they generally come in a clump, the wipes are all white in colour and soft on babies bum, my daughter has never suffered with nappy rash using these wipes so I certainly would recommend the wipes in this range. A new product from Huggies which I was lucky enough to be parft of the trial for is the cotton soft sheets, this is a packet of dry sheets which look like baby wipes and are very soft to the touch, the sheets can be moistened with water and used either wet or dry. When I trialled these i did find they were very good and I would use them if my daughter has a cold as they are really soft and would be much better for wiping snotty noses than normal wipes or tissues. I haven't actually bought a packet of these yet but have now seen them in the shops so obviously enough of us that tried these did rate them. Overall I would say that up to your baby being in size 4 nappies this brand is really great, from size 4 prepare for extra nappy changes and I cannot recommend then for on a night. The pull ups we use every night and I would recommend these as they do prevent wet beds and the wipes in the range are brilliant, versatile and very soft.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Excellent nappies that last through the night

Huggies in my opinion are by far the best brand in nappies. When my daughter was first born we used Huggies Natural Fit and we never had a leak at all. My friend gave us a big box of Pampers nappies as a present so when the Huggies ran out we thought we might as well give them a try and it was the worst thing ever! They brought her botty out in a rash and smelled of urine/disinfectant. So straight away we went out and bought more Huggies and her bum cleared up. When she was around four months we changed her to Huggies Superdry and they were even better, really absorbent. I wished we had used Superdry ones right from the start with her. I put one on her before she goes to sleep and it lasts right through the night. Plus they have nice Winnie the Pooh characters on them. Huggies are the best!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          should be better

When I first had my baby, I received so many money-off or free coupons that I tried to take as much advantage of as possible - pennies add up when you are on maternity leave! One such offer was a free pack of Huggies newborn nappies. I had a pre-conceived preference for pampers but, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I gladly collected my free pack. The nappies themselves felt soft and I was confident that they would be kind and gentle on my baby's bottom. They had a cute picture on them too (as do most nappies it seeems!). They fitted snuggly to my baby and seemed to be a very comfortable fit too. The sticky tabs for securing the nappy were good quality and if the nappy had been placed incorrectly it could easily be rectified without affecting the seal on the nappy. Whilst in these nappies, my baby seemed comfortable and did not suffer with any nappy rash. However, I did have one, rather large issue with these nappies - they had a tendency to leak. This did not happen on every occasion that my baby was wearing these, but nevertheless happend quite frequently. This led to my baby soaking through into his clothes (and ruining some of his baby grows too!). Therefore I did not have complete confidence in the nappies and would not purchase them again as I have found that my preferred brand, pampers, does not give me this problem. As a brand, I would say that Huggies is one that I would consider, but it is definitely not one of my favourites. I have used some of their other products, for example their wipes and have been satisfied with the results but have usually found a brand that I prefer. Huggies are also generally priced at the top end of the market so I would expect results to be a lot better for the price that you pay!

huggies are a total waste of money, i had been using them for three months becouse my daughters dad wanted me to use them, every time she stooled it leaked straight out the side of the nappies and went a over her clothes and bed sheets, staining them. so i decided to change her onto pampers and since then they havnt leaked at all, im glad i bought the huggies first though so i know never to buy them again.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

The title says it all, best nappy on the market by far

I'm probably going to sound like some sort of affiliate for Huggies here, but i absolutely love the brand! I have tried many different brands of nappies over the past 19 months, yet Huggies always came up trumps. When my little boy was born, i wasn't sure what brand to go for. I figured Pampers or Huggies would be the best nappies as they where the leading brands, so i bought a pack of each to try. Actually tell a lie there, i received a free voucher in my Bounty Pack when pregnant for a Huggies Newborn starter pack. I took the voucher to Asda and was given a free starter kit worth £5, containing a pack of Huggies Newborn nappies, Huggies wipes and a pair of Disney socks. I was very pleased at my freebie so decided i would pack the Huggies in my hospital bag for when my little one was born. Over the first two to three days of having my little boy, i went through a full pack of Huggies nappies. I found them to be very absorbent, kind to the skin and a nice Pooh Bear design on the outside of the nappies too. The sticky tags at the sides are really stretchy, which is idea when getting the nappy to fit snug yet comfortably on a baby. They never once leaked and he never got any rashes from them, i also thought it was cute how padded they where on his bottom- which made him look like a really petite baby with a chubby bottom! Been one not to waste money i then decided i would use the Pampers nappies i had bought previously and decide which was best from there. Never again! I would find crystals from the nappy on my little ones bottom, they would leak and worst of all where misleading as often felt really full after my son had just one Pee. I did change him as soon as he did anything in his nappy anyway, but a few times people where holding him and said his nappy felt full- only to remove it and it wasn't the case. The crystals inside had just gone really jelly like and could be felt through the nappy. I don't think i even got through the full pack of Pampers before i went out and stocked up on more Huggies nappies, i decided these where the brand for me and have never looked back since. I did end up using the Pampers nappies again when i was running low on Huggies, but again i found the quality to be nowhere near that of the standard of Huggies. I also tried the Pampers Simply range when my son was in size 3 due to them been the only ones in stock in my local chemist, they where even worse then the newborn ones!

              Disadvantages

Huggies are the best for quality and hardly ever leak even after 4 hours sometimes!

I feel huggies is the best brand for nappies because they last a good few hours and are super absorbent I prefere the elastic around the nappy and it stays put unlike other brands were they leak easily. For wipes i find that a cheaper brand is just as good because then you don't need to worry about how much you use and wet wipes all do the same thing they clean although if your baby is sesitive to certain fragrances they have alot of variety of wipes and they do feel nicer to use than the cheap ones. When you put them on they feel strong and secure and other brands have come off or even ripped were as huggies don't.The price of them if you buy in bulk is a cheaper way of buying them and we always look for any offers but we pay sometimes around £12-15 for about 58 size 5 were as you can get tesco own at about £5 for 25 but we felt we were using twice as much and couldn't find them in a large pack. The wipes are very expensive we feel to pay about sometimes as much as £3.00 a pack for something that you use all the time and still keep your baby clean we prefere tesco own and they don't have a perfume in them so you don't need to worry about your child being sesitive.

              Not For Me At All!!

Huggies. When my 5yr old Daughter was first born I made the mistake in thinking that everything that i bought for her HAD to be brand named or they would fail to work properly or people would think that I was a bad mother for buying cheaper things!! I remember vividly buying Huggies nappies for her when she grew out of Newborn, really just for a change and to see how well they worked. When I took the first Huggies nappy off her, I found leakage and assumed that I was putting it on wrong or it needed to be a bigger size or I was leaving it on too long, after the first packet, I realised that I was not happy with any one of the nappys that I had used, either they had leaked or became too full that they were about to (I was changing them every hour / hour and a half) or the smell....they seemed to hold the smells and multiply them even after just one wee!!! I used them again with my daughter who is now 11 months as I had forgotto just how bad they were and afetr using two nappies I gave up and threw the packet away! My partner picked a pack up when we were shopping and was about to put them into the trolly when I barked 'NO' at him, he promptly dropped the nappies and looked at me as if he were about to cry!!...Oops!! Another problem that I have encountered with the nappies are that they feel rather rough and are quite stiff, they obviously do mould to the body shape after a while of wearing them but to be honest, because of the problems mentioned above, I have never actually left one of them on long enough to realise the full extent of this. I know that this souds like a really negative review of the product but that is my experience and opinion of these nappies, don't let it put you off and do try them for yourself if you wish. One good thing that I do have to say about these nappies is that they stick fast. Once you close the tabs on them, they do not open until you are ready to take them off and I have never once encountered one of them breaking so I guess that is a plus point to them. You can but Huggies Nappies in many Supermarkets, grocery stores and Chemists and are usually priced around £5.00 for a pack in which the amount can vary anything from 25 to 35 depending on the size that you need.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

i wouldn't waste my money, found supermarket brands were better!

Well you would think a big name like Huggies would give you a good product! well i'm afraid that is not the case! Before I had my first baby I stocked up on various sizes of Nappies and bought quite a few boxes of Huggies assuming they would be the best ones to use as they have been around for such a long time! They have got to be the worst nappies I have used! I have tried Pampers, Asda's & Tesco's and Huggies was bar far the worst, the amount of leaks I have had to clean up is unreal! If my baby did a huge poo then fair enough you can understand that sometimes they will leak but at least once a day we have encountered a leak and it just got to the point where i thought she might as well not even have a nappy on! I think they are very overpriced for the quality that you get! The one positive I have is that they have nice pictures and patterns on them! Would not recommend this nappy to anyone

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                I Prefer Pampers!

I don't know why but my sister has never got on very well with Huggies, she's potty trained now so only has a nappy on when she's in bed. We always make sure that we buy Pampers because they suit her a lot better, but last night my dad brought a pack of Huggies Little Walkers in because he saw them in the shop and remembered we needed some. He brought size 5, but these nappies are also available in all the other sizes from newborn up to size 6 which is for bigger kids. Huggies also make pull-ups and special nappies designed for swimming. I was up first this morning so when my sister woke up I went and got her to change her nappy and put her knickers on. As soon as I got her out of bed I remembered why I thought Huggies was so rubbish, and that's because they STINK when they're wet. You can smell the wee through the nappy and even though I cleaned my sister with quite a few wipes there was still a bit of a smell about her and I was glad when she asked to go in her paddling pool because the lingering urine smell was getting right up my nose. To be fair to the nappies they kept my sister perfectly dry through the night and her skin wasn't wet in the morning. The nappy had bulked out big time though and it was obvious from how she walked down the stairs that it was a bit uncomfortable for her to have the nappy so fat between her legs. There was also rings around the tops of her legs, it's not that the nappies was the wrong size but these are like pressure marks and have obviously happened when she was moving about in her sleep last night. The tabs are strong on Huggies nappies, I've never known them to unstick or rip while my sister is wearing them and I've just checked with my mum and she said they're dead reliable like that. It's the smell of them when they're wet that puts her off buying them and being as these are the same price as Pampers we always tend to buy the Pampers because they work just as good as Huggies but without leaving marks on my sisters skin and also you don't get that manky smell off Pampers. The nappies feel a bit stiff when you take them out of the packet but they soon mould to the shape of my sisters legs and bum. I don't think they look as comfortable as Pampers but my sister never moans about them, but saying that she doesn't wear nappies in the daytime so I don't know how comfy they'd be if she was wearing them full time. Kind of recommended...... the nappies work good but they STINK!
