Well when i found out i was pregnant my friend at work told me she had a swingin chair if i was intrested, as i hadnt already purchase done yet and knowing how expensive these can be i agreed to buy hers from her only paying £15. Iv gootta say it was a really good decision i can not really comment on putting this product together as it was already assembled when i recieved it, although the seat cover comes off quiet easily and can be washed, it has 2 over the shoulder straps and 2 at the waist all that come together to secure baby safely.
This product requires 4 big batteries which i do find they dont last very long inless you use duracell, the cheap brands only last a day or two. It has a lift up play bar that can be moved out the way, i use my chair for when baby is watching tv as it can be reclined in to various positions to make baby comfortable.
The problem i had with this chair is it comes with a button that has 2 speeds the first speed bearly moves at all and the second speed i was to nervous to even move away from baby while it was switched on as it does seem to go abit high, it would be alot better if it also had a middle speed.
Baby is happy in the chair weather its switched on or just to sit in and watch tv i would recommend this product for all those babys that like to be rocked to sleep.
When i found out i was having another baby i was determined that this time i wouldnt waste my money on a swing that wouldn't last five minutes and took up loads of room... That it however till i seen the Graco Dream Delight Swing in Babies'r'us on sale for £39.99.
The swing comes flat boxed so transporting the box to your car is quite easy, i'm quite glad really as i bought it on the off chance when i was on my own with the pram.
However, putting it together was quite fidley, especially attatching the seat liner to the seat frame. This took approx 30 minutes to put up. Apart from that the instructions are easy to follow and doesnt require any tools.
The seat sits on two big legs at each side of the swing, these are sturdy and have grippers on the bottom so if you have laminate flooring like me it doesnt dance all around the floor when switched on.
The seat has three adjustable reclining positions and is comfy for baby as it has suede lining. The fasteners comes over the shoulders around the waist and clips up in the middle.
There is also sides on the swing for safety so baby doesnt slip over to the side.
The swing has two speeds which is adjustable with the switch on the top of one of the legs. it makes a tick tock sound when turned on which can be quite annoying as there is no music on it but when you have the tv on it drowns it out.
The swing takes 4xC batteries which has lasted me all week so far and it has hardly been switched off.
There is a bar that goes in front of the baby on the swing with two teddy bears on that helps stimulate babys vision, this is easy to remove if you dont want it on and has two postions it can be in so its easier for baby to reach.
When you are finished with it squeeze the button on the top of the legs together and it folds away nicely.
It cost me £39.99 from babies r us which in my opinion is excellent, swings are around £80 plus so with this swing you get an absoloute bargain.
I bought my ten week old baby this swing as he is never happy in his bouncy chair and when your trying to get your jobs done its hard when he is attached to my hip.
A friend of ours has a swing and whilst over there Riley went in the swing and loved it, so that sold it for me. The next day i went out and found a swing.
Riley absolutely loves this swing and will quite happily if left sit in it all day, it is really light to move so you can pick it up and take it in the kitchen with you if cooking dinner or sit it in front of the tv if you want a sit down and a cuppa.
Ok, so it doesnt play music and its not brightly coloured and its not like the fancy designer ones you see for £100 plus, but.... for £39.99 and the fact it isnt going to last long as once baby is on the move or gets too heavy they cant go in it anymore.
This swing get a 10/10 rating and would definetely recommend as a brilliant buy !!
It has saved me money and my sanity.
