      Thanks For Reading

When it comes to playing back sound on your computer your spoilt for choice. With hundreds of models and makes in the market ranging from the very basic costing a few pound, to the high end glamor models costing in some cases hundreds. These pair of "Genius SP-S110 100W Speakers" sit in the budget end of the scale and offer a no-frills options for your listening enjoyment. Features of these speakers include an output of 1 watt RMS and a signal to noise ration of 70 decibels. To be be honest isn't likely to get you any noise complaints from neighbors, but is just about enough for someone sitting next to them to hear exactly what you want to hear without suffering bleeding eardrums. The speakers are magnetically shielded to stop the speakers picking up interference. Also included is a 3mm headphone jack for headphones / earphones at the front of one of the speakers for when those around you don't want to hear what your listening too. Sound quality is average (while not being excellent) but at the same time I've heard worse in speakers more expensive. For the average user who wants to listen to a film, music or gaming then they will offer acceptable statifaction. Build quality is as good as can be expected at this price bracket, they are plastic, not very attractive and unlikely to be able to withstand much in the way of damage. Again if you were to spend more on a set of speaker you would expect more, so I can't really fault them for it. One drawback is that the audio cable between the two speakers is very short (roughly 45cm). This really isn't long enough and it mean that I couldn't have a speaker sitting to each side of my monitor (in the typical left/right configuration) as my monitor is two wide. There was also no possibility of using an audio extension cable as the cord is hardwired into the speakers themselves. At least there were no drivers or software to install with the speakers. Just plug them in, switch them on and your ready to go with Windows automatically configuring them for you. The bottom line is that they are a bit under whelming and basic but considering the cost and if your on a budget then these speakers are worth considering as a bare-bone set. A good simple speaker which suits my needs fine

My PC speakers had been dying for quite a while really. I think they were some my ex brought home from the school he worked at because they always looked a little old but they died a death eventually after falling off my computer table countless times as I pulled it across the room when I was being lazy and watching the vampire diaries through my computer in bed! As such I needed to purchase some new speakers and I have to say that I am not very technical and so I just headed to amazon where I seem to buy most things from these days and browsed the speakers available. I will admit I was looking for something cheap and cheerful and so I purchased the Genius SP-S100 speakers in black for around £7! They are currently selling for £7.58 on amazon should you be interested. The speakers arrived just a few days after I placed my order which was a good thing as I was getting fed up of playing song pop on facebook with only the tiniest bit of sound and so subsequently getting beat off everybody! They come packed in a small red box which shows a picture of them on the front as well as telling us that they are multimedia stereo speakers for desktop. On the reverse of the box there is a more detailed picture of the speakers which illustrates which part plugs in to the back of the PC as well as what the power cord looks like! I opened the box up and whilst there is a small instruction leaflet provided in the box I didn't feel the need to use it as I think connecting these speakers is pretty self explanatory to be honest. There is an audio cord with a green plastic end part which slots in to the green hole on the back of the computer and then the power cord needs to be plugged in to the mains. I actually have an adapter which I use for a lot of my computer plugs which sits just under the computer desk and so I used this to plug the speakers in to as the cord isn't very long so this may be an issue for some people. Whilst I discuss cord length I have to point out that the cord which connects the two speakers is only around 50cm long and whilst this isn't a massive issue for me I have to say I wish it was longer so I could place the speakers comfortably where I want them. They do both sit on either end of my computer table but my table is quite small and so those with a larger space may find the small cord off putting. The black speakers are around 17cm tall and made from a black plastic. For the price I don't think they feel or look cheap and I fully expect them to last me quite some time as they seem to be a good quality. On one speaker there is a volume button as well as a power button and a space to insert headphones to the speaker should you wish to. It is easy to tell if the speakers are on as there is a green led light on the front of the speaker which lights up when there is power to the speakers. In terms of sound quality I have to say I was pretty impressed with these small inexpensive speakers. I like to listen to music quite often whilst I work at my computer and will belt out music from my media player when I am getting ready for a night out or cleaning or something and so I do use my speakers quite a lot. These speakers don't offer poor sound quality or any hissing or buzzing as you listen for the most part and the only time I notice a reduced sound quality is if I turn it right up to the loudest possible setting on both the computer and the speakers and then it sometimes sounds a little crackly. Whilst I do like my music loud I don't have to have it too loud that I experience the crackling and so I am really happy with the quality of these cheap speakers and I would certainly recommend them if you are looking for something cheap yet effective. I have had these speakers a good few months now and they are giving me no reason to believe they wont last me a very long time indeed. Thank you for reading my review!

they do their job well, being durable

I bought these to pair them with my desktop computer since I wanted to listen to films or songs I normally watch on youtube without having to use headphones every time and my laptop sound isn't very loud or clear. They are a pretty standard but quite sleek design with the two speaker towers in black and a long wire to plug it in, but although they were cheap being only around 10 pounds on Amazon, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the sound quality. The box includes two speakers one with the controls and the other to make the stereo effects work. You can easily install them, plugging them in and then connecting the jack to your computer to start listening to the contents you watch. Maybe the only positive aspect I can think of is that being a bit quiet and using no bass device, they do not consume that much energy, which is always a good thing to save money and take care of the planet. Geniuns devices are quite cheap, yet durable. I have had them for a couple of years already and they still work perfectly, even if the cable has suffered some deterioration due to stepping on it and so forth, but this is really my fault. Overall a good product for cost and performance but obviously there are better models out there for sound quality and speakers with sub-woofers.
