My plan of buying my daughter a wooden kitchen for Christmas 2012 started out quite early in the year and I kept my eyes peeled for different accessories to go with it. I wanted to buy her a personalised fabric apron but the cost for one of these seemed astronomical, when I spotted nice girlie aprons on dotcomgiftshop I bought one and put it away ready for Christmas. The apron I purchased was the pink fairy cake apron, there are a few other designs available to purchase including boy versions too. The aprons cost £4.95 and are available to buy from www.dotcomgiftshop.com but note that a delivery charge is needed too. I was a little unsure on whether it would be the right size for my three year old daughter as when I received the apron it looked quite big. When Christmas come around and my daughter wanted to wear it I was right, it was a little on the big side. I would say it is suited to children from 4-5 onwards. Although it's a tad big my daughter still wears it as when I go to tie it up I fold it over a little bit so my daughter can't trip over when wearing it. The apron has quite a simple design with a thin but long tie that ties around the back, and the same material used for the loop at the top for the head. I think the long tie to do the apron up is a fab idea as it means the tie can be passed right around the child's back and then still be tied at the front. The material used for the main body of the apron is good as it's a wipe clean one. The design is beautiful and girly with a pale pink background and pictures of fairy cakes placed all over it. It also has a pocket on the front that is quite big so it can hold quite a bit of stuff. The original use of this apron was mainly going to be for role play and when my daughter played with her wooden kitchen, now it has a variety of uses. The uses are mainly for crafts, cooking with me and playing with Play-doh. The wipe clean properties of the material means that even after getting the apron messy, my daughter can still use it with role play as it is really easy to clean. I'd definitely recommend this apron for children. The size is more suited to children over the age of 4-5 but younger ones can still use it by folding it up when tying it. It is easy to clean and made to a high standard. I think it's well worth the money paid.
